Meals were exceptional...pork shank special and "seasonal" fried chicken were excellent as was the service and environment.

Amazing through and through. Can't wait to go back and try something else! I had the Fried Chickie Sammie and it was divine. The slaw and the adobo aioli launch this sandwich from good to great. My friend had the burger and they said it was "money." Delish! read more

They don't answer their phone to make reservations and then when you drive up there they say they don't take walk ins. Host staff lacks manners and acts bothered that you came into the restaurant. read more

A very cool spot! Unfortunately it was too cold to sit outside in their mini greenhouses, but everything inside was spaced out for social distancing. The service was great as well. read more

This is just a coffee shop inside a hotel trying to be a restaurant by crowding in more tables. Tables are so crowded there is very little room for diners and waitstaff to walk. Reservations are meaningless. You will miss your show at the nearby Playhouse. The parking lot is several blocks away. The waitstaff are inexperienced. The kitchen staff provides food of inconsistent quality. The crab cakes we ordered were almost burnt. The burger was well done instead of medium rare. The main dish salads are small for the money. Complaints to the manager are a waste of time. I looked up the restaurant and found it is owned by the hotel. So. Not a restaurant. read more

The menu had good items on it but the food was very average. My meal was lukewarm and the flavor was lacking. Also it said there would be zucchini and carrot noodles but it was mostly just zucchini. I don't think I will be back. read more

Betts - Tokyo bowl - New American Near Me - Cleveland, Ohio

Convenient and nice ambiance but guessing there are better options nearby? We had 2 breakfast vouchers included with our stay at the Kimpton. They were possibly understaffed on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Our server was friendly and checked on us regularly, but it took a long time for our food to come out. Our brunch items were solid (Sammies, tomato soup, truffle Mac n cheese). When I paid, we were overcharged, told it would be fixed, but it wasn't. On top of that, I was shorted when I paid in cash. By then, we were in a rush to leave and didn't follow up further. Sadly wouldn't be my first choice again if we come back. read more

Betts has a clean, Bistro-style look to it. We went for brunch and the menu options seemed fairly standard - nothing particularly special or unusual. I had the avocado toast with an egg over medium, and what I did really enjoy about it was the generous serving of burrata cheese that accompanied the toast. The coffee was also strong and tasty. No was was raving about what they ordered, but no one was complaining either. Our server was friendly. read more

We stopped in Cleveland on our way during a cross-country drive and stayed at the Schofield. We ordered from Betts, and everything we ordered was truly amazing and delicious. We could tell the ingredients were fresh. I got the salmon, which was so flavorful and had a generous portion, and my fiancé got the tomahawk pork chop, saying "it was the best pork chop he'd had in his life" The staff was so friendly and helpful- from the food to the wine. We can't say enough good things. read more

I have only one issue with this restaurant because the service and the food is amazing but unfortunately the GM Kurtis is harassing employees which makes it a toxic work atmosphere other than that great place to eat when they're not upset and crying because of something Kurtis did to them!!! read more

Very nice place. Looks clean and welcoming. Nice atmosphere and good mellow music flowing through the air. However the service was not so great. Extremely slow and the waitress seemed to be overwhelmed by our party of 8. We didn't ask for much, as the food menu wasn't what we were quite looking for. But as for what we ordered, it took forever for her to retrieve. She also let out a couple of sighs to make us aware that she was a bit overwhelmed. read more

I love Betts! The staff is awesome. The drinks and food are amazing. I highly recommend!

Great breakfast and brunch menu Tried the Denver omelette which was beautifully displayed next to the toast. Delicious. The Power breakfast bowl with quinoa, roasted veggies, avocado, pumpkin seed granola and eggs!! Oh my goodness. A wide array of textures and tastes. Delicious!!!!! Good service. read more

Been here twice for lunch, once on a weekday and once on a weekend. Both times the servers and staff were so quick and friendly. The inside is beautifully redesigned from its previous incarnation as Parker's, with a really nice tiled, French bistro feel. The menu has unique dishes. The frittata was delicious, as were the polenta fries. The shrimp tacos weren't my favorite, but mainly because they were much more like a heavy gumbo ladled into tortillas--not bad at all, but just not what I was expecting. Highly recommend for a quick lunch or more leisurely alcoholic brunch! read more

Had a wonderful brunch with my husband. We're from out of town and love to make weekend trips within Ohio to visit fun restaurants and see new things. I had reserved a spot for us to eat brunch at Betts as soon as I saw some pictures of the space and the food! Not only was this place super cute, but all of the employees we encountered were friendly and attentive. Our brunch was yummy, too. Super happy with our experience here. We were unable to find close street parking and ended up walking a few blocks and I called ahead to let them know we'd be a few minutes late. They were understanding and cheery also. Once we arrived they happily sat us and our waitress was very kind. Once we headed out, the hostess saw us taking a photo and offered to take one for us instead. Betts is a nice way to start your day. We are glad we made a special stop for it! read more

Extremely poor service. Overpriced cocktails and food. And the food is not very good. The chicken I ordered was dry and severely overcooked. Others in our party noted their food was bland and tasteless. Don't waste your money. read more

7 employees standing around, one bartender who was too engaged in small talk with 2 patrons to serve our drinks (15 minutes later). BTW, a total of 7 guests in the place. Food was okay, but the level of service is so poor it ruins the meal. Don't go! read more

Great place! Staff and service are some of the best in the city. Awesome apps, solid entrees and great atmosphere combine for a super fun dining experience. I've sat outside, at the bar and been for brunch. Loved all of the visits! Don't hesitate to eat at betts! read more

Came for breakfast on a Friday morning - thrilled! Server found an excellent black tea for me, accommodated a special request (fried egg on my avocado toast), and took excellent care of us in general. Companion raved over the grapefruit brûlée, and I was thrilled with my choice. Would definitely come back for breakfast! read more

This place looks beautiful. I like the location and ambiance. I went there once a couple of years ago and the food was pretty solid! They must have changed their management or chef because their food leaves much to be desired. The burger we ordered was overcooked, the chicken sandwich was dry and flavorless. Disappointing. Overall, the food was sad and overpriced. I wouldn't have liked it even if it was adequately priced . read more

Stayed in the hotel (wonderful!) and had brunch at Betts. Great food and service. Try the flatbread...chorizo and eggs YUM! read more

Last time we stayed at this Kimpton the restaurant was one of the highlights of our trip. It's now Betts and was a huge disappointment. The beans in the bean and kale soup were not cooked through and it had no flavor overall. The crab cakes tasted average, but were overworked and made info deep fried domes. The sauce they were served with also lacked flavor. Lastly, the ambience is lacking and it feels like you're in an Greek restaurant with cold white and blue colors. Hoping by the next time we come to Cleveland to stay at the Kimpton, they'll have changed to a new restaurant as Kimptons always have excellent ones and this was the worst we'd experienced. read more

Mary was great... we were walking around and got our party of 6 into the restaurant... great soups, casual, understated vibe. Thanks Mary.

Amazing place, food was so delicious, the greenhouse was clean and we were seated right on the dot of our reservation. The staff was very friendly. Overall very satisfied and can't wait to eat there again, definitely recommend this place. Everyone in my group was very satisfied with food, service and atmosphere. read more

Waited 40 minutes for a burger, chicken sandwich, and bowl of soup. The server disappeared and did not follow up to see if we had our food. I think they forgot our order. Soup was served with no crackers or bread. For the price and poor service, you're better off getting food across the street at the grocery store. read more

If you're looking for vegetarian and vegan food in Downtown Cleveland then give Betts a try. We ate there and had the kale and white bean soup, blistered edamame appetizers, roasted beet carpaccio, LBC bowl and finished with vegan chocolate tart. Everything tasted great, except the tart crust was really hard. The beet carpaccio had both red and golden beets. The LBC bowl was excellent and very filling. read more

In Cleveland for a conference and had "free" breakfast vouchers from the Kimpton Schofield hotel because of their screw-ups. Anyhow we wanted to eat breakfast before we checked out (late check out of 1:00 pm) and the manager KURT at Betts told me that it would be a 30-45 minute wait because of the Cleveland Browns game and all the people eating here before the game. So, I gave them my name and cell to be notified. We waited in the lobby for way over an hour. I went to check on our reservation and KURT looked at me and said "Oh! It will be just a few minutes" They NEVER texted me for our reservation because KURT forgot!! This really delays our trip back home. I hope KURT gets treated with the same service when he eats out of town that he gave to us. I do NOT recommend the restaurant Betts or the Kimpton Schofield hotel. And in addition the service for food is terribly slow. So if you don't mind wasting your day, then eat here. Otherwise move on to a better restaurant. read more

Cannot recommend this place enough!! First I had Jessica as a server who politely moved me as I did not like my first seat. Service was fast and friendly, the 2 most important things I look for in a restaurant. Jessica offered me suggestions and drinks to pair with it for my brunch. I have to comment on the vibe of this place- everyone was in a great mood. The table next to me was having a blast and the table behind bought us all drinks. It was a very fun environment to be apart of. Outside I noticed they had "igloos" to socially distance from other patrons. Supposedly they are heated. If you're searching for somewhere you can eat out with friends and still maintain safety, Betts has a huge advantage. Overall, I was left very satisfied with the food, drinks, and atmosphere of Betts. I have already planned my next trip there and will be requesting Jessica as my server once more. read more

The walleye fish fry was very disappointing. It was $36 and billed as a large portion of fish. We received two small pieces and a very tiny portion of Cole slaw. For half the price, maybe acceptable, but really! Too bad. read more

We had a reservation for two at 11:30 and upon arrival we were seated promptly, however, the hostess did not tell the waiter that we were there. We sat outside in the sun for 20 minutes without water and without anyone acknowledging we were there, even though there were other guests around us being served and people that we were seated AFTER us being served. I finally told a server that we had been sitting there for 20 minutes waiting for someone to greet us. The server was very nice and apologetic about the whole situation. My husband then went inside to speak with the manager. My husband was told by the hostess that the manager is "in the back and not coming out to answer questions", the hostess also stated that "things are so bad I'm getting ready to walk out". Needless to say, we never spoke to the manager and we ended up leaving. read more

Good food, great atmosphere, reasonable prices. We were unable to seat in the heat greenhouses located outside, but we still had a good time for brunch. Only negative thing I have to say is, the waiters were taking the food out to the customers eating outside, the food was uncover, why would you carry uncovered food outside on a snowy day? Other than that, again, the restaurant was good. read more

Nice breakfast spot in a hotel downtown. I believe they focus on healthy food dishes.

This was just a total failure in almost every way. We arrived for a 10:15 brunch reservation and sat completely ignored for 20 min until we finally had to almost physically grab a passing waiter to ask for coffee. 10 minutes later he brought the coffee-- no milk as we requested. Finally after 40(!) minutes a waiter appeared to take our order-- that's when the milk for our coffee appeared. The food was just ok-- my French toast would have been very good if it was actually warm. My wife asked for no pork with her eggs which the server acknowledged and then when her food came there was a pile of bacon on the plate! We didn't tell anyone about these mistakes because we were afraid we'd be there all day waiting! Then the waiter dropped the check off and completely disappeared. After another 10 minutes of looking around helplessly I had the host close out our check. A total nightmare. And there definitely was plenty of staff running around looking busy- we actually felt invisible. Stay away!!! read more

Worst restaurant experience ever! We arrived at 8:00 - an hour before closing. About 8:30, our waitress told us they were out of hamburger buns, fries, and the bolognese, so we ordered other meals. About 9:00, some of the meals slowly started to appear, but not all of them. Some time later we were told that they were out of the missing items, so we ordered replacement meals. At 9:30, the manager informed us that the kitchen was closed and we were just out of luck. What restaurant allows their kitchen staff to leave before they've completed preparing the meals that have already been ordered? Instead of being apologetic, the manager tried to play the victim, saying he "hadn't been set up for success." He said we wouldn't have to pay for the undelivered meals (I would hope not!), but was initially unwilling to offer any other type of compensation. Finally, after it became clear that we were upset (no raised voices or name calling), he agreed not to charge us for any of the meals. The owner of this restaurant should be embarrassed to have so poorly prepared this young man for management responsibility. I can't comment on the quality of the food because I never received any. read more

This is one of the better places to take the spot at the Schofield so far. The staff members were welcoming, attentive, and in-the-know -- they made us want come back. I think we interacted with the manager at one point as well, who was very welcoming. Good vibes any time of day -- cozy friend brunch till nighttime drinks & snacks. The dishes we've tried have been pretty good (brunch, dinner, dessert) - menu also hits the right spot of enough to choose from without a thousand unnecessary items. For the location and good experience, prices are reasonable. It's a place we've come back to. Worth checking out, especially if you're already downtown. Street parking can be tough on weekends, but there's valet because it's in the Kimpton. read more

Went to Betts on New Year's Eve. The atmosphere was lovely, good service, and cute decorations. They did a champagne toast and had NYE accessories at each table. The appetizers of calamari and soft pretzel were delicious, however my bolognese entree was mediocre. Will definitely come back in the summer and try again! read more

I had never heard of Betts. I only went there because I could get reservations before Playhouse Square. Arrived for a 6:15 reservation, and we were promptly seated. Waitress was attentive on our drinks and taking our orders. Placed our order by 6:30, and waited. We got another round of drinks at 6:45. And waited. No bread. No salads. Nothing. Just waited. And waited. Another round of drinks? No, it's 7:15, we've been here an hour, and ordered 45 minutes ago. We're hungry, we have show tickets, and need our food. We waited. 7:30? Apologies from waitress, but kitchen is running an hour on meals. Ours is "next up." We waited. 7:45, it arrived. Some was good, others were awful. My couloote steak, cooked sous vide, ordered medium rare? Came in wellxdone, chewy, over-salted/peppered, and awful. It clearly had been sitting under heat lamp for awhile? How do I know? The wood-handled steak knife was so hot that it burned my hands. I enjoyed the Mac&cheese and broccoli sides. My companions had mixed reviews. Salmon okay. Parpardelle bolognase? Nothing special. Bottom line: good beer list, slow kitchen, meal was overpriced, some entrees were awful. Not recommended. read more
