They have cool chalk boards on the tables which you can draw and scribbled on in addition to Jenga. Complimentary popcorn which is cool to have while you are sipping on your glass of wine, beer or cocktail. We went on a Sunday night so I wasn't that full. The manager was very nice and we felt like we were having drinks at someone's home. This can be a great spot to hang out and chill out with your friends or go on a nice mellow date where you can. Not my first time here but definitely my first time having a terrible experience. There was an issue with my receipt after a drink purchase. I asked for some help and my request was apparently irritating the bartender. He felt the need to say "I don't fucking know bro, ask someone else for help." And threw my receipt and card at me. My card went flying and landed on the floor. Another customer picked it up for me as I couldn't find it in the group of people around me and it was dark. I asked another employee for a manager and he stated that the guy who had just did that was a manager. Even offered me a free drink as he put his hands in a praying position. As if this kind of stuff happens on the time with no resolution. At this point security came up behind me stating I needed to leave per the request of the employee who had just completely ruined my night with his unprofessionalism. A very chill bar in Brickell. Laid back atmosphere with the option of playing pool inside and jenga outside. Depending on the night, service may be hit or miss and it might be too packed inside to have a great time but still an overall nice bar. Small bar lounge that has a pool table board games and outdoor area to hang in middle of brickell is probably one of the last good bars in brickell. If the place is crowded which does at least on weekends the pool table will be difficult to play any pool. The DJ spins good beats that you can shake your rump shaker in front of bar. The bartenders are attentive even when it's busy so doesn't take a long time to get their attention. I haven't been for happy hour or had any of their speciality cocktails so can't comment on that but their prices for straight up whiskey and wines are reasonably priced for Miami Downtown. read more

Visited Better Days Miami for an evening drink on Friday night. Originally conceived as a pop-up, Better Days has long overstayed its predicted run. I just ordered a beer and ended up leaving relatively quickly. Quality The only item I ordered at Better Days was a beer, which ended up being more of a struggle than it should have been. Of course my first choice was tapped, then the glass they gave me for my second choice was dirty. Eventually I got it and it was fine, but with only a few beers on tap, it seems silly for one of them to be unavailable. Quantity It was a fairly poured beer with just a little bit of head. No complaints once I got it in a clean glass. Value We had just missed the end of happy hour, but I think because of the mishaps with my order they ended up giving me my drinks at the happy hour prices. Even though the bar has a very dive bar vibe, it has Brickell bar prices, so things will get hiked up quickly. Ambiance Better Days Miami is located in the 500 Brickell building. It is very much set up like a hipster bar, but they were definitely in the holiday spirit. They have a small outdoor area with a few benches, a giant jenga, and lots of space for smokers. Inside the first thing that draws your eye is the pool table, but there was a long wait to play. Along the right wall are several booths that were stuffed with people. The bar is in the middle of the space and it was strung up with Christmas lights, but I think that is what it is like most of the time. Then along the left wall you had a bunch of different chairs that look like they came out of antique shops. They have older televisions all over the bar, but none of them were on, I believe they normally show classic movies. The bar has all sorts of kitchy items everywhere including old Playboy magazines and movie posters. They also had lots of candy canes, fake snow, and stockings to go along with the Christmas music playing in the background. Crowd On this Friday evening they were hosting a company holiday party, but no clear separation existed for the rest of the patrons. The company party also must have been going on for a while because it was a fairly obnoxious crowd when we arrived. People were very drunk and rude and outside you had someone who was just yelling. The bar had seemed to have lost control and I'm surprised no one had complained. Service It felt like no one was really in control of the bar. Drunken patrons seemed to be doing rude things everywhere, and honestly it felt way too early in the evening for that. Then you had one of the few draft beers run out and dirty glasses. So my issue with the service was more an issue with the lack of service. Parking There is very limited street parking in the area and you can use the valet for the building next door. If you prefer it is only two blocks from the metromover or you could always opt for a car service. Extra I am not sure if it was just an off-night because of the surplus of people at a company holiday party or if this is par for the course at Better Days. I honestly was glad to finish my beer and be on my way. The potential for a fun and laid back bar is there, but it seemed way too packed and in need of supervision. read more

I was thoroughly surprised by this place. If you're looking for a chill night and like old fashions, this is the place to go. If I were a local, I would definitely come here to unwind. Their whiskey selection is wide ranged and they had about two dozen types of bitters. They can make old fashions with gin, rum or tequila also. They had some board games to play including Yahtzee, Parcheesi, and Cards Against Humanity to name a few. Also there is a pool table. This was my first time here and it was recommended to me by a friend who knows I like local places with high quality beers and service. I just moved here from the Philly area. I am amazed that so many people have such low thresholds for places in Miami. I have learned not to trust most Yelpers in their reviews in Miami, It is like they have no clue about great food, service or anything else. So here is my assessment: ENVIRONMENT/ATMOSPHERE: Very cool place. Love the vibe and layout. Cool furniture, etc. Reminds me of one of my favorite places-Lagniappe. BEER: Not good. Poor choices both in tap and bottle. I was able to find brooklyn IPA to drink, They need to seriously rethink what they put on tap and store as bottles. SERVICE; This was absolutely one of the worst places I have been for service. The initial bartender end dup going outside and hanging out smoking ciggs at a table with some patrons. The other bartender spent some time shooting pool with patrons When he was behind the bar, he spent all of his time with his back to us talking to some guy more focused on smoking pot and other drugs than anything else. We actually had to yell to the guy that we wanted to get a drink to actually have him acknowledge us. I guess if I would have offered him some pot or molly, he would have quickly waited on us. OVERALL: I so wanted to like this place. the one bartender said that they have the cheapest drinks in Brickell. Well, that will only get you so far. It's all about high quality service. I give great tips to great servers/bartenders and this was the first time in 5 years that I did not leave any tip. That is how frustrated I was with this place. Love this place it has multiple personalities so take this review with a grain of salt... Weekdays/happy hour: chill spot, Kings of Leon-type of vibe, think LES creeping into Williamsburg with soho folk. I'll take it. Came here for a spanish-practice date with a classmate and really enjoyed playing hangman on the chalk board tables and another time with coworkers for after work brewskies. Both times we had tentative service and decently priced drinks and not a problem finding seating. Only problem was the arctic breeze that accompanied the booths on the right hand side of the bar. Late night/weekends: This place starts to feel more lounge-y with a dj spinning everything from Amy Winehouse (RIP sister) to Outkast to Drake to The Cure. I like it. Keeps the super diverse crowd pleased and their buzz going. I appreciate that this bar has so many different "places" to hang around in, and that the bar is a legitimate place to post up and spend the night as the place is built around it. Getting in a game at the billiards table has never been a problem for me either. You can easily dance the night away here, enjoy a beer after work, or meet some new people on a Friday night. Better Days Miami is a great bar! Not only is it located right outside my building, but its a bar where you dont have to be all dressed up to go to.. which in Miami is pretty rare. Weekends get super crowded, actually weekdays too, just mondays and tuesdays are fairly slower from what I have personally seen. The staff here are all awesome, friendly and pretty funny.. always have good conversations. Theres free popcorn, a pool table, jenga and even cards to play which all become amazing after the first few drinks. Came here for the first time. Kept hearing rave reviews about this place. It actually lived up to it's reviews. It's a bit more casual than the usual Brickell spots. You can actually have a good conversation in here and still enjoy your time. The bar is pretty big so unlike most bars that you are stuck to one small spot ordering drinks this actually has an ample space to order. I asked for a specialty drink. Didn't want to be boring and try something new. 2 bartenders suggested Hemingway versus Clooney. It didn't disappoint. They definitely knew what I was looking for. In a corner they had movies playing as well. Have a pool table and jenga outside. The prices of drinks are just like your average Brickell place. The bouncer here was extremely disrespectful to me. Being only 24 and having an out of state id, it's not uncommon for bouncers to take a closer look at my id. Which I understand b/c they're just doing their job. But this bouncer was extremely rude. On top of saying "you're lucky my phone died so I can't scan it." He also ended the conversation by saying "Go in pretty girl, I'll let you in this time." Basically acting as if he was doing me some sort of favor. What a cooool bar! Looks more like a Wynwood bar than a Brickell bar and that's what I love about it. I also love a bar that serves free popcorn! The vibe at Better Days is laid back but still keeps the classy-ness that comes to mind when you think Brickell bar, it's just not as uptight as most of the bars in the area. It offers a good amount of seating from bar stools to actual booths, it's great. For the folks that love a good dive bar, the pool table adds a nice touch. The drinks on the menu are a bit too sweet for my taste but you can order anything that's not on the menu. After hearing all of my friends talk about it, I'm glad I got to try this place out. This bar could be described as a mix between blackbird and lagniappe which are currently some of my fave apots. The dim lights, board games and mismatched furniture makes the atmosphere so relaxed and inviting. The bar has a pool table for those who like that sorta thing..once u order a drink , the bartender offers a free popcorn scoop...such a nice touch :) Mike is a great manager and will make you feel welcomed. We stopped by better days last night after spending a few hours downtown. The idea of ending the night with some Jenga and a few drinks sounded really nice. We showed up about 2 hours till closing, and just like last time, it was a great experience. Jenga, uno, popcorn, and great drinks. The owner was there, Mike, who was really nice and humble. I always say it's endearing for an owner to be active in running his business, it adds class..character. The crowd was an overall friendly bunch, no arguments or drama. Nothing at all to rave over, looked like there was 3 bartenders on but only one was working (and for that I appreciate you girl) while the other 2 guys made sure to not look up or make eye contact with any of the guest at the bar. There was long intervals between drinks because it was difficult to catch the attention of the one poor girl running around servicing the semi full bar.
