Had an absolute AMAZING time at the Monterrey Bar from start to finish. The staff was extremely friendly and the mood was SET as soon as we walked in. The lights were dim, the music was fire and we were vibing! Their menu was based on astrological signs and let me tell you, the Libra cocktails HIT. Not just on the drink side, but the food was absolutely phenomenal as well. Great pricing for the beach and you'll definitely leave happy. I don't use the term hidden gem often, but this place is DEFINITELY a hidden gem and I recommend yall checking this place out. Great drinks & delicious food absolutely ruined by abhorrent treatment from service On my first time visiting The Standard, we opted to make our first stop at Monterrey Bar. My girlfriend & I tried 3 tasty drinks from the cocktail menu and left with the an excitement to return later, after our initial plans on the property were over. With a wide selection, fun drinks with a variety of flavor combinations were sure to get me to come back to try more of the menu. A few hours later, we returned from the event on the property and several individuals from the event also went too. With a quaint and intimate speakeasy, there was not a lot of room and we congregated on the sofa seating in the back. The waitress (Maria M. on my receipt) that served me earlier in the day assisted me again. She took orders from all individuals as others arrived later than the 3 of us that sat down initially. When it came time to close out my bill, I explained to the waitress that there were items on my bill that I never ordered. She gave me an attitude telling me they were seated here. The peron that placed the order during that discussion was seated in a different part of the bar. I explained that she charged 1 drink too many for my order, and that other items should be charged to the person which placed the order. She never offered to split the bill despite me voicing my request/concern. She gave me an attitude with an extremely sarcastic response. As she walked away, I expressed that I wanted to speak to a manager on duty (March 24, 2026 @ 11pm) and she said okay. I am approached by a man, whom I asked his title. He stated he was Security. I stated that I was waiting to speak with a manager and had yet to close out my tab. He then physically grabbed me and removed me with force out of Monterrey Bar and walked me out of the property. Furthermore, my credit card was charged without opportunity to rectify my billing. Bottom line is that while I absolutely adored the venue and was extremely impressed with the selection of cocktails, my experience was tarnished by being treated as less than human. As a South Florida resident, that has reviewed numerous similar establishments, this service was one of my worst experiences ever. While I would love to believe that this is not *the standard* way this speakeasy operates, I am concerned that referring others may result in comparable experiences. read more

The bar is inside of a hotel and they only have valet parking. I was nearby so I decided to stop in. It's the sultry, dark vibe once you walk in. I was able to be seated at a table. The bar is a unique loop shape. They have a lounge back area with several tables for two and four people. The drinks: Lunar Tide - cancer: rum cocktail sweet and light drink. Very passion fruit forward barely taste the alcohol. Belle isle belle - Leo: Smooth, mezcal cocktail that was light and fruity but not too sweet. You can taste alcohol but it's not overpowering. It's a very cozy bar. The drinks were amazing and I would recommend going. The drinks are priced $18-21 range but they have put intentional thought behind each drink. A very cool intimate listening bar located inside the lobby of The Standard Hotel. Best to go weeknights because it is small and can get packed rather quickly. Great cocktails and you can play records. Some nights a DJ will spin records. The soundproof walls make this the perfect den for a musical and cocktail experience. Living 10 mins away from The Standard definitely has its perks. What an amazing experience from the start at valet, to the Lido bar with "T" really being outstanding with making us some strong and delicious drinks along with having such a personable attitude while we waited for our seats at the Monterrey Bar, with Alex being absolutely amazing and helping us grab seats with our friends inside, despite it being packed, and going above and beyond for the excellent service making us feel welcomed, to our server Darla for being on top of our service and attending to our drinks and anything that we needed, to our awesome bartender Amy, and most importantly to the outstanding Phil that truly made our night with providing the best service anyone can ask for! The ambiance, service, positive and amiable mood makes you feel like you are part of the Standard fam. Loved the DJ and the vibes she put out all night long. Highly recommend reserving beforehand! I got the tuna dish which had good flavors to it, however, the sear seemed slightly off in the sense it wasn't super fresh feeling. That was a bit of a tease. To be fair, this is clearly more of a cocktail spot than food spot. I was happy they had some decent tapas concoctions to choose from vs no real food at all. Very intimate setting with chill vibes and great service. Came here on a Thursday night around 9. It wasn't crowded so we decided to sit at the bar which was a fun way of interacting with all sorts of people as they came and went. There was even a celebrity sighting that evening. The fun thing about the cocktail menu is that it's organized by zodiac sign. Also, music records are played all night and the record cover is displayed so you know what's spinning. Thought that was such a cute detail! Is this place charming to be in? Yes. Is this place worth the appeal? No. Honestly, I came here because the infatuation Miami steered me this direction and did I feel played. First off, good luck on finding parking in this area because everything is residential with giant tow away signs so you're left with a $55 valet at the door of the hotel. I came here for happy hour and there's really nothing too happy about the items and its prices. The drinks offered for happy hour are only exclusively mini martinis at $12 a literal gulp and it's done. Also the variety of cocktails flavors they offer are questionable and really don't taste good. Their food was mediocre and expensive.
