So so happy to finally have a better buzz closer to home! My favorite coffee chain and my go to drink is the honey latte or mint infused iced coffee with almond milk I tried the new chili crisp wrap and it was tooo good, perfectly seasoned and all the flavors just worked well together, I had pre ordered and my drink was ready when I arrived The inside is super aesthetic with searing inside as well as outside on a porch, love visiting this location! read more

I recently decided to check out Better Buzz Coffee after receiving a gift card from a client. I ordered a chai tea with vanilla cold foam, avocado toast, and a yogurt bowl. The chai tea seemed watered down with lukewarm water and the tea itself was bland, even the vanilla cold foam had no flavor. There was even sticky brown stuff over my cup. (shown in picture) The avocado toast was OK, but my only problem was that it seemed like it wasn't toasted at all since I still see some raw butter. (I asked for lightly toasted). The yogurt bowl was alright, but they didn't add any honeycomb like their description said. However, the granola on the side didn't have a proper tamper proof sticker on it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place itself seemed clean and the workers were helpful to assist me finding my pickup order.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you're looking for a place with good food and drinks, it's best if you check out coffee shops in the Convoy area. read more

Yep, another Better Buzz has opened in San Diego. This location is the closest to my hood, which is nice. I had the ham and cheese croissant and what they call the best coffee ever" iced. The ham and cheese croissant was delicious, and they heated up just right, too. Just enough so all the cheese was perfectly melted. The croissant was buttery and flaky. The iced coffee was good but a little too sweet for my taste to drink often. I am a cortado lover, but they have yet to place that on the menu. Someday, I hope. Service was very upbeat and friendly. They do get kinda loud inside, so take advantage of the outside seating if you like more of a quieter ambiance like myself. read more

SOO HAAAAPPYYYYY that Better Buzz finally opened a location in my hooood !! The coffee here is sooo good and I'm not being biased because I used to work at the old fashion valley cart back in high school lol-- it really is one of the best coffee shops in San Diego !! I finally got around to stopping by today and it's been about a month since it first opened . The drive thru lines are still crazyyyy and parking is horrendous at the moment . Im sure it'll die down once the hype of a new coffee shop is over . I parked across the street in the neighborhood and walked on over . The Better Buzz sign is bright, glistening, and literally calls out to you to purchase coffee ! I love the outdoor patio area and the inside is super cozy . It has about 6 tables or so . I got there around 930am and there were about 4 people in line ahead of me and I waited about 10 minutes to get to the cashier . Once I ordered, I waited another 10-15 minutes to get my food and drinks . I didn't know there was an app you can place a mobile order through with a designated pick-up area--- will be doing this in the future . Here's what I ordered-- BEST DRINK EVER is literally the best drink ever . It's strong, creamy, semi sweet vanilla flavored, and most of all.. delicious . I love getting this drink iced even though its 50 degrees cold outside . Always hits the spot . BETTER BREAKFAST SANDWICH was really tasty ! Bacon was thick cut, egg was cooked well (wish yolk was still runny, but hey-- beggars can't be choosers haha), pretzel bun was fluffy on the inside with a nice crisp exterior pretzel bite, and arugula gave it a nice spice . Havarti is one of my all time fav cheeses and the garlic aioli gave it a nice refreshing zing . Great sandwich, but definitely a little pricey and is a splurge . My son loved his CHEESE DANISH . It's served at room temp and at first bite was just okay . We took it home and threw it in the Airfryer and it actually was pretty good warmed up . Flakey, buttery, and the cheese middle was tasty . Tip-- You can order the drinks less sweet if you want . I haven't had an Acai bowl here, but they are one of my favs to get on a hot day . Customer service was good; my cashier thanked me for waiting and she was nice . I will for sure be back in the future again when I need my BDE cravings satisfied ! read more

Worst experience ever had at a coffee shop and I try so hard not to go to Starbucks and I NEVER leave bad reviews because I work in the Resturant industry and understand. But wow this was terrible service from start to end. Girl at the register didn't want to take my order, no greeting no thank you just barely cared. People who ordered after me got their items before me and when I pointed it out all I got was a "we're making it now" which is like okay I understand that and I understand it's busy and people make mistakes but a simple acknowledgment and apology goes a long way. A smile or nod would of gotten the job done cus I'm not a cry baby who's hard to please I just like to be treated like a human when I'm spending my hard earned money at an establishment especially at a time like this. I spoke with the supervisors and his only response was "sorry we're busy" I'll never come here again cus the cookie was stale and the coffee was terrible. I don't want anything for free and I don't want a response or apology. I am beyond upset with this experience and it will never leave my brain. There's a location by my job that wouldn frequent often but this has turned me off from the company as whole. I am very upset. Like it honestly reunited my day. read more

Great study spot, classic better buzz drinks! Got the pumpkin chai latte before it's too late! Sweet as expected, but not too overbearingly sweet. There are a good amount of tables inside and a patio area outside with more seats. There is street parking near the drive thru, it wasn't too busy to find a spot on a Tuesday afternoon to evening. The staff is always kind and quick with orders. WiFi is available and a one stall bathroom, no code. The music is on the louder side, but they're playing good music that's not difficult to study with, in my opinion!! read more

I walked into Better Buzz expecting coffee. I walked out a changed man. Rachel didn't just make my drink -- she embodied it. From the moment I ordered, it felt like I'd accidentally wandered into a hero's journey. She greeted me with the confidence of someone who knows your order before you do, like a caffeinated oracle. I watched her work behind the counter the way ancient sailors watched the stars. Every movement was precise. Every espresso pull felt intentional, spiritual, possibly blessed. I swear at one point the milk foam formed a perfect little heart and nodded at me in approval. When Rachel handed me my coffee, time slowed. Birds chirped. My posture improved. My lower back pain considered retirement. I took one sip and immediately forgave everyone who's ever wronged me. This drink didn't just wake me up -- it gave me purpose. I suddenly knew what errands I needed to run. I replied to emails I'd been avoiding since 2022. I felt capable of emotional vulnerability and parallel parking. Rachel is not a barista. Rachel is a craftsperson. A guardian of vibes. A level-20 charisma build with espresso proficiency. If you come to Better Buzz and Rachel is working, congratulations -- your day just got upgraded to the premium experience. If she's not working, I'm sorry, and I hope you find peace eventually. Again this location has failed me ! I tried giving it another chance after the bad experience I had with them during my pregnancy and today just makes me make my mind up about never going back . Me and my boyfriend were both craving pumpkin spice drinks so decided to stop by and give this a try .NEVER again !! I would not recommend this place to anyone . Both our hot and cold drinks not one bit of the taste of pumpkin spice flavor came thru. The blended drink tasted like vanilla cream and my hot drink tasted like a regular black coffee with creamer . I have never been so disappointed with a PSL. ALSO we both got breakfast and we regretted it as much as we did with the drinks . The elote avocado toast was gross and soggy had half an avocado whole on part of toast not even mashed no effort into it . And my croissant as seen in video was no where near soft and flakey even if toasted it was extremely crunchy and hard ,hated it ! Our coffees I never finished mine and my boyfriend ended up tossing his . For a grand total of $40 with a terrible experience! read more

Soo happy a better buzz location opened closer to this side of town! Much more convenient location to go to compared to traveling to the Hillcrest location or Fashion valley for coffee. Have been a regular better buzz customer since I was in high school and to this day this coffee is one I recommend to anyone! Especially visiting guests of San Diego! It's a SD staple and my recommendation is the iced hazelnut divinity! Very busy location! Inside is pretty small so limited seating is available. Although there is an outdoor patio to sit when it's not too hot outside from the direct sun. Parking is pretty limited as well and get blocked usually from the drive through line. read more

The reason why I'm ultimately knocking this review back and heavily questioning whether I should return has to do with a disappointing experience from my last visit with my husband that we now think was part of a larger pattern. The past couple of times we saw this person at the register, we used my name for the order. This time, though, my husband gave his name instead and the person at the register gave him some attitude about it and asked "You're *really* going with that?" I don't understand what their problem was with his name, but both the person in the front and the staff in the back refused to use it. They called out everyone else's names (and they usually call out mine when I order) and we noticed that our sandwiches were looking skimpy compared to how stacked we know they can come. My husband uses a nickname that might not be the name he was given at birth, but is a name he has used for over 20 years and might as well be his "real," name. We don't want to make assumptions, but most of the staff has always been at least a little cold towards us at best, slightly rude at worst, and even though this experience might seem relatively small to some, it's ultimately the straw that broke the camel's back. We suspect that their distaste for us might be politically motivated. We know it can't be personal because we've been nothing but polite. It sucks, but it seems to be that if they perceive you to not be "their people," your money isn't as green at their establishment, even if it spends all the same. I loved this place and felt lucky that they're close to my house, but feeling disrespected and like the staff are trying to fire us as customers is enough motivation to take our business elsewhere.

I've been going to Better Buzz La Mesa for years, and I used to think it was worth it. Yeah, it's always been a little overpriced, but at least the drinks were solid and the sizes felt fair. But lately? It feels like they're seeing how much they can get away with before people stop showing up. A few weeks ago, my usual drink jumped up another dollar out of nowhere--no changes to the drink itself, just more expensive. Then I noticed the cup sizes changed too. What used to be a large is now the size of their old regular, and the regular is basically a small. So we're paying more and getting less. It's not subtle. What really made me stop coming, though, is the drive-thru experience. Every time I go, they flip the screen and say, "It's going to ask you a quick question." It's the tip screen. And listen--I'm not tipping on a $9 drive-thru coffee. Most people aren't. Especially not when the prices have already gone up and the drink sizes have shrunk. It's not a full-service restaurant. It's a drive-thru. The constant tipping pressure just makes it awkward. And let's be real: customers are struggling too. We're all doing the best we can. If your business model relies on cornering people for extra dollars on top of already high prices, it might be time to rethink things. Then, I was asked if I'd like to add anything else to my order, which I declined. Up to this point, everything was pretty standard. What caught my attention, though, was the wait time. I could see my drink ready through the window, but the employee was busy with other tasks, so I ended up waiting longer than expected for just one drink. I understand they have their duties, but the company might consider streamlining the process to avoid unnecessary delays, especially for simple orders. Finally, the payment process was a bit slow. The card machine kept flipping, and it took a few tries before my card was read correctly. For a quick coffee run, it felt like a bit much. The staff were really nice to bring some water for her and the other dogs that were there as well.

As soon as I walked in the doors, it was decorated so cute. Very colorful, vibrant, and designed to impress. I also noticed they take pride in keeping their little coffee shop clean. I noticed the menu is extensive and impressive. So, if you are needing a new coffee shop to try, hang out, or simply to replace Starbucks, here they are! The coffee was high quality, smooth, and loaded with flavor. I wanted to give a special shout out to Sandi and Daniel because they told me it was a family-run business. They were friendly, professional, and hospitable to me. I loved the personal connection I felt which made me feel right at home. It is located in Spring Valley on Campo Road tucked away. They are a hidden gem that must be experienced. I need to come back with my appetite because they have it all here.
