This was our 1st time ever visiting this place, my husband facetimed me while I stayed in the car with our baby. I asked him to grab me a Tostiesquite, which he couldn't really hear me because the music was BLASTING. When he came back and handed me the the Tostiesquite I noticed it had big chunks of cucumber and jicama. I went inside to kindly ask if they could correct the order, and the employee refused. She said, "He said a #40." The issue is that the picture on the menu board has no description of what comes in the item, so there's no way to know it includes cucumber and jicama unless you're already familiar with it. There was no clarification offered and no willingness to fix it. It was frustrating to be dismissed instead of helped. A simple correction or clearer menu description would have made all the difference. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling unheard and disappointed. read more

Hand down the best elote I've ever had. Spent a few days in the city and was told I needed to come here to eat and I am so happy I did. I'll give them this -- they have a big menu here so no matter what kind of snacks you like, whether you prefer savory or sweet, you can find your fix here. I thought $4.50 was a steep price for it because the bag of chips cost about $2, meaning just the nacho cheese alone was an added $2. Not worth it imo. The cheese wasn't the best and I ended up giving half my bag to one of my friends. I went with two friends and two of us were able to get our order pretty quickly. Found the best mexican cravings option in whole San Diego! Don Chamangos is a little far but was worth the try, they have an huge menu with tons of delicious options. Due to covid there's no indoor seating and only two tables outside, they lack of good ventilation so it was some hot inside so we just placed our order get some agua fresca and waited outside. We had the cheeto elote which amazingly is white corn not sweet yellow, and also the tostiloco which is big enough for two. I always only ate that at one spot but they get it right here and make it even better, plus with more variations. But I've came across other places where the second or third time wasn't the same. So when I reordered from this place, they meet my expectations when the same sweet watermelon taste was there! It's like taking a bite into a juicy, sweet, ripe slice of watermelon on a hot summer day at a picnic at the park or at a family bbq. My husband and I have been to this place a few times and always gotten good drinks/snacks for it being so close to our home. The customer service was meh, but we figured it was because of the language barrier so it was fine. This time around, we were first in line and the cashier took the order of the Spanish speaking customers behind us first. He then yelled at the employee to turn the music up. And I was having trouble putting in the order due to how loud it was. The music literally was as loud as a club/bar. Tonight I came back second time for Chamango, it's on the menu is $6.50 , she charged me $7 ( included tax, i gess), but when I requested for the receipt, she asked me for another $.50 cent for tax , the total will be $7.50 I'm like....$.50 cent for giving a receipt?? Must have been my first taste of chamango since I came to the US, I didn't know why I was being so late, my guess is I heard chamango was very spicy, and I could not handle spicy hot food, so I got held back until today, that proved me wrong, the chamango mix drink I ordered was very good, it was so flavorful, it got sweetness of mango, some sourness and a bit spicy like tajin and tamarind, I enjoyed it very much, didn't send me to the bathroom later at all. The seafood tostada was great as well, the hot sauce also didn't kill me and I finished the crunchy shell this time :) I'm all about supporting the local business, and this is one of those places, hard working people to deliver some good service here.
