Allison at the front desk is the sweetest and most professional young lady I've met. She made sure I was satisfied and felt taken care of. This girl deserves a raise with the way she treats everyone and makes you feel important. I travel a lot and she stands out apart from every hospitality worker I've met! read more

I stayed at the BW Carp for one night while on one of my roadtrips down to SoCal, and I enjoyed my stay. I chose it mainly because they are dog friendly, as well as the location which is 1/2 mile to downtown Carp/beach area. Parking was aplenty, check in was smooth, room was comfy. I had an exterior facing room vs a garden courtyard, but honestly the noise wasn't that bad and I felt very peaceful in my room. There's a restaurant in the hotel, although I didn't order food, I did order a Shirley Temple (so nostalgic!), which was made w real cherry juice...so good! The bartender/waitress was very friendly, as were all the employees I interacted with on my stay. Everything was clean and comfy. Would stay here again! read more

First Time Here We spent one night here with our family of 5. We have 3 boys and they are all teens. We were looking for a somewhat close town to visit from Orange County, and Carpinteria was our stop. We stayed at Best Western and had a roll away bed and 2 queen beds for our family. It was a perfect one night stay. We faced the lovely courtyard. Our room was easily accessible by using the stairs to the 2nd floor. The room was clean and beds were comfy. The hotel is within about 1-2 miles away and the town is a nice 15 - 20 walk from Best Western. Ask the front desk for some fish food to feed the Koi fish. read more

At check in I was met by a woman named Tiffany and she is not the kind of person you want as the face of your establishment. She didn't ask how I was and didn't ask my preference of floor or anything. . I asked her which room she gave me and she sighed then told me. I asked her if she had anything else and she said no we don't have anything else. Not an apology or anything. But then a young girl came up who had a much better presence then Tiffany . Alysa or something but she came over and asked if everything was ok. And she told Tiffany to change it to another room. Because of the young girl I got a great room! She made sure I got what I had requested and didnt have a nasty attitude. She is who you want at the front! DO NOT SPEAK WITH TIFFANY read more

MOLD or MILDEW? I don't know, but they don't care. This hotel was extremely disappointing, and I am absolutely disgusted by the fact that they don't seem to care about their guests' complaints. We were coughing because of the strong smell and what was definitely mildew in the room, coming from the carpet, the walls, or somewhere else. The room was filthy, to say the least. The fact that this is supposed to be a family-friendly hotel chain makes it even more outrageous. And don't even get me started on the elevator. It was due for inspection more than six months ago and made horrible noises, to the point that we decided to take the stairs instead--with all of our luggage. Overall, this was an unacceptable experience, and I would not recommend staying here. read more

Best experience because of Allison. The hotel was gorgeous and alison made sure we got a good room and helped us sign up for points. Any question we had she helped. We asked about restaurants and he gave us so many great options. We ended up going to delgados and had the margaritas which she recommended! our stay was wonderful and absolutely recommend this hotel because of Allison . Make sure to ask for her! read more

Alison at the front desk was great. Really made the stay. We don't usually highlight one employee but it was obvious she cares about doing a good job. She ran to check on our room being available at check-in rather than rely on the computer. A+!!!! Overall it was a great stay. Clean and comfortable room for a reasonable cost. We'd stay there again. Btw we normally stay Hyatt and Marriott so are used to more full service hotels but this hotel did a nice job for us! read more

Best Western Plus Carpinteria Inn - September Stay for a Wedding I stayed here while attending a wedding in mid-September. Pros: - Very friendly staff. - The coffee and water station was a nice touch and made up for the lack of complimentary breakfast. (I wasn't expecting much, maybe just muffins or toast, but the water and cups were especially appreciated since you can't carry much on a plane and buying it at grocery stores adds up.) - Shower head was large with good water pressure. - Beds were cozy and soft, making for a restful night's sleep. - Air conditioning was decent -- maybe a problem in peak summer, but perfectly fine for fall weather. - The courtyard was cute (even though I didn't use it). - Lobby area was small but comfortable. - Location was convenient: right off the highway, about 15 minutes to many restaurants and roughly 25 minutes' walk to the beach. - Noise wasn't an issue during my stay. Cons: - You have to ask the front desk for the Wi-Fi code. Why not just keep it in the room? I ended up using my phone hotspot instead. - No front desk staff available at night. When we returned in the evening, there was no one to ask questions (including about the Wi-Fi). - Room service is not daily -- you have to request it, and it's not always guaranteed. This feels odd, especially for a tourist/wedding town where daily service should be a given. One morning we requested service at 8 a.m., and they showed up by 9. When I asked them to come back after 10, there was no response -- a simple yes or no would have sufficed. (Maybe a language barrier, or maybe they didn't want to adjust the timing.) I let the front desk know afterward, and they did send someone, but it still felt strange. - No microwave in the room. A shared microwave by the coffee/water station would be a nice addition. Overall: Friendly staff, cozy beds, and good location made it a solid stay. I'd rate it a 3.5 if I could, but the cons bring it down to a 3. read more

Too high price for the location. The concierge were great but it's too much to pay just to sleep and shower. The breakfast was not the greatest and was not free. The room was small. The bathroom so small & amenities weren't even taken care of before I took the room. The body wash $ shampoo bottles were empty. read more

LOTS OF THINGS !! Terrible experience....had a blaring carbon monoxide alarm go off at 5:45 am throughout the building for no reason !!! Complained to Frank at the front and essentially said it wasn't their problem...on top of him making fun of me !!! THEN AT 9 AM...while having a DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door, we noticed that the cleaning lady had entered our room. When we asked her why, she said that they have been told to go into a room, even if there's a DND sign on the door, as long as they knock and no one answers the door. REALLY !!??!!??!! read more

Last night... This is just two minutes with the shower on. Note that sand is from the beach not dirty. However, tub is not draining as it should. First told management at 5:50pm this evening. Was told maintenance would after the shift began at 6:10pm. By 8 pm still no one. Asked at the desk and apparently maintenance looked at the outside pipes and deemed nothing wrong. Asked for them to come to the room again at 9pm. Stood at desk while receptionist called maintenance. It is now 9:40 and no one. After the shower is on for 5 minutes the tub has 2" of water. We stay here every year, this is totally unacceptable that I need to shower with a pond at my feet. Updating to add that Sarah at the front desk and Fernando with maintenance are my heros and came through. Sarah must've left a note last night for the new maintenance shift this morning. They came first thing. Shower and tub are flowing perfectly. Thank you both. It is sad that it took all this but very glad they came through. read more

This hotel is a nice place to stay when you are visiting Santa Barbara or nearby areas of southern California. I found this hotel while looking up hotels to stay in Santa Barbara. I was not able to find affordable hotels in Santa Barbara for the time I was going to be there with my family. Upon searching the outskirts of and further from Santa Barbara, I came across this hotel. Upon researching the details on its location and reviews, I decided to book our stay here. The nightly rate for when we were going to be here was pricier than I would have liked it to be, but it was not bad or unaffordable and better than other comparable hotels in Santa Barbara which much pricier. This hotel is conveniently located off the highway in a nice area between Santa Ynez mountains and Pacific Ocean coast. The hotel has beautiful decor inside and outside of the building. It had a nice courtyard with a dining area. There's a restaurant inside the hotel that serves tasty food. Our room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The room amenities were good as well. We had a balcony with a nice view of the mountains on the background. The hotel staff's service was good. The staff were friendly, helpful, and courteous. I world recommend staying here on your visit to Santa Barbara or other nearby places. read more

I never write reviews but my experience at this establishment blew me away! I stayed at this Best Western Plus from September 19 to the 21 this year for my sister's wedding. I have to give a huge shoutout to the incredible staff at the Best Western Plus in Carpinteria -- Marioh, Sarah, Yuri, Josie, and Alondra. Every single one of them went above and beyond to make my stay exceptional. I work at Trader Joe's, which is often called the "Chick-fil-A of grocery stores" because of the way we pride ourselves on customer service -- and I can honestly say the team here matched that same energy perfectly. Each one of them was friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about making sure I had the best experience possible. From the warm welcome at check-in to the thoughtful check-ins throughout my stay, I was treated like I was staying at The Wynn in Las Vegas, not just a hotel by the beach. The staff's kindness, attention to detail, and positive energy really made a lasting impression. Big thanks again to Marioh, Sarah, Yuri, Josie, and Alondra -- you all represent the gold standard of hospitality. I'll definitely be coming back because of you! read more

We had a great stay with our service dog at the Best Western in Carpinteria, Ca. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location by the freeway was convenient for us and noise was not a problem. The style of the building is beautiful, especially when lit up at night! The best part of our stay were the staff that we interacted with while we there. They were extremely friendly and welcoming, especially Sarah, who checked us in when we arrived. She should be commended for her customer service-it was just exceptional! I can say the same thing for Yuri who checked us out-she was so helpful and friendly! This makes such a positive difference when you are far away from home, don't know the area and traveling with a dog. We will definitely stay there again if we visit the area in the future! read more

Fantastic location for all things Santa Barbara or Carpinteria. Directly off the 101. Pros: Beautiful hotel. The exterior is so impressive! Cozy beads. Soft pillows. Gorgeous courtyard for relaxing. Restaurant on site. (No room service though) Cons: Small pool No free breakfast Right on the 101, so it's loud in the rooms. I would absolutely stay again. read more

Pathetic sh**hole doesn't even have microwaves. The cheapest, most run down motels have a go***mn microwave, WTF is wrong with your stupid a** management??? They're right next to a freeway onramp & offramp so you better like the sound of engines revving with straight pipes. Also, half the time there is no one at the front desk to help you. I have stayed here before usually when I want to escape the heat in Los Angeles. I arrived on a Thursday evening Yuri assisted me with checking into the hotel. Room was very clean. However, neither employees in the lobby seemed to care at all, no explanation about anything or asking when we left how the experience was. Bed as hard as a rock and the pillows, small and so uncomfortable. Not to mention our room was by the freeway so I'm glad I took ear plugs. Thanks to Yolanda for a great job with the room. read more

Great accommodations. We were staying for a wedding. Pretty gardens. Great staff. Gave 4 stars because service in restaurant in hotel was lacking in service. Waitress not very attentive and the place was pretty empty at around 9:30am. I was assigned to the room beside the exit door. The room is dark, smells and the light in the bathroom is busted. The management should not be assigning this room especially if the hotel is not even full. At 4:24 AM I woke up to the noise from the TV. Still sleepy, I tried to understand what was going on. When I moved my arm to get my phone beside the nightstand, I realized the TV turned off by itself. That's when I decided to call the front desk and ask for a room change. The gentleman does not sound and look happy. He tossed my new key card without saying a word. I had to ask for directions where my new room will be. The new room is nice and cleaner. Does not give any creepy vibes. read more

The noisiest hotel ever！！！！Their cheap ceiling is keep making cracking noise as long as there people moving upstairs. So it will either wake you up in the 6 am or keep you awake at 1 am. Avoid this place, even cheap $20 motel has better soundproofing than here. Not only the building is cracking but you can hear people talking at the different levels hallway while you are in the room..... Jesus cry, we have been wake up at 6 am and the cracking sound just keep lasting until now and our toddler is also flipping over and cannot sleep while. Front desk can do nothing. We even talk to the people upstairs and obviously is not their problem, they just walk up early and moving around normally. But the building is so old and poor quality so making huge noise like construction. Noisiest hotel ever!! Please avoid this place, you'd don't get what you pay for, staying hotel 6 next to the freeway is much quieter than here. read more

Good grief, what should have been a 3 hour drive home from Solvang turned into 5 and we decided to exit to the city of Carpinteria and crash for the night (essentially a few miles away from Santa Barbara- quiet town you wouldnt go out of your way to visit IMO) Ive never stayed at a BW and was pleasantly surprised. Its GORGEOUS! Very Mediterranean style decor, beautiful french doors that open up to a patio overlooking tropical courtyard. A+ Staff A+ Clean and comfortable Rooms A+ Convenient parking We paid 300 for the night which seems a bit high for a Best Western , especially in such a random city but again, its better than sitting in traffic. TIP: I googled best Italian restaurants in Carpinteria and GIANNFRANCO's TRATTORIA popped up. Authentic Italian food, great wine, cool owners and just a few min drive from this hotel. read more

ROACH MOTEL! We would always pass by this hotel on our way to Santa Barbara and decided to book a weekend here. But as soon as we checked in and went into our room, this little guy came jumping out within just a few seconds of us being there so we wondered how many of them were in the room. Luckily I caught one of them and took it downstairs to the front desk. I show them the cockroach and told them that we were leaving and they were very nonchalant about like it was no big deal and like it happened before. They just said "Ok" and that was it. We left and checked all of our clothes to make sure were weren't carrying any of these roaches back! YUK!! Now, whenever we pass by this place on the 101 fwy, we all laugh and say "Hey, there's the ROACH MOTEL!" read more

3.75 stars for this easy-to-access hotel. We did not experience the noise problems others have mentioned in spite of being here on busy weekend. We were in a room on the first floor toward the back, so maybe that helped. The front desk attendant checking us in was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and looked out on the nicely landscaped courtyard. Beds were comfortable. Heating/cooling system was a little finicky. We found and made use of the microwave located by the 1st floor vending machines. Appreciated the fridge in the room, though it cycled on and off all night long disturbing our sleep. Front desk provided us a complimentary toothbrush and toothpaste when we realized we had left those at home. read more

To,d I got room with ocean view- neglected to tell me it was ntext to hwy 101, w sleep precluding noise. 3 floor, no elevator

I dont recommend this hotel for families. If you do stay here upgrade your room to a bigger one because the standard rooms are not comfortable enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. Or at least get a room with an enclosed patio. The bathroom is extremely hard to navigate. The door opens right to the toilet. Not ideal when you are trying the bath kids. The pool is TINY! Don't bother to check the spa. Our room, 106, smelled musty. The coffee is terrible. If you are sensitive to sound get a room on the top floor. Apparently there was an elephant in the room above us. Positives...the staff is very nice. The courtyard is pretty. Close location to Linden and the beach. Suggestion...stay at the Holiday Inn instead if you are with kids. read more

After a long drive from Northern California, my husband and I were settling in for a good rest. At 1:15AM - we received a phone call from the front desk asking if we were "jumping" in our room. My husband was asleep when she called, and I was trying to settle down by watching tv a bit to help fall asleep. We were not "jumping," or doing any other activity. Someone, likely a person with a mental health disorder, complained about noise. We were not the source of that noise, but getting that call at 1:15AM only added to the stress we were trying to escape over a weekend. The carpet had not been cleaned in months, perhaps years. The bathroom faucet didn't work, and the sink was dirty. There was NO continental breakfast in the morning, and the restaurant was closed. Even the coffee machine in the first floor lobby was out of service. I requested a refund or discount. Nothing. We only received a response letting us know that Best Western was sorry that their stay had not EXCEEDED our expectations. Best Western in Carpinteria could not even MEET our expectations. NEVER AGAIN! If you want a nice, relaxing stay in a clean hotel, go elsewhere! read more

6/2/20 I stayed here for one night in room 230. My room was clean, with the necessary amenities. I got the room closest to the freeway, but was asked if that was ok from the receptionist. I don't mind the noise so I took that room. The bathroom had a great shower head for an even better showering experience. I loved the courtyard as it was the most beautiful setup I've ever encountered. Unfortunately due to covid-19, fitness, pool and spa were all still closed. But my bed was comfortable and bed bug free, and I got my sleep and was well rested. I will most definitely stay here again if and when in the area. Such a beautiful hotel inside and out. read more

As I am not a frequent stayer at BW properties, this property was my first stay at a BW in over 40 years. I have to say that everything I have experienced at this property was outstanding! My suite on the 3rd floor was not only spacious, it was recently remodeled. I ate all my dinners at The Sunset Grille. While the menu is quite limited, the portion sizes and the service were outstanding. Overall I will have to give 5's for the overall quality of my stay relative to the price paid. read more

Ill start off by saying the actual hotel is great. Its very clean, staff was nice, and a good amount of parking. There is a balcony but the one I got was connected without walls to the other rooms which I found interesting. My only real issue is that it can be loud at night. The hotel being close to a highway was not the issue it was the busy road next to the hotel. Throughout the night there would be a few loud cars that would keep or wake me up. Nothing terrible but was noticeable. I have no big reason to not suggest this hotel though. read more

Second time here, but wasn't impressed this visit. Female check in person had was hard to hear, and had no friendly or welcoming personality, which set the tone. There was no maid service, which i can accept. But, we asked for some fresh towels at 10am, and when we returned at 8pm, there were none. So we had to ask again. Also, the mattresses were crappy, and VERY uncomfortable, unlike last time. Not sure if we'll stay here again when there are other similarly priced options Mike M. - Pasadena read more

The hotel has an inviting exterior; however, it went downhill from there.. the promotional "one room left at this price", was no longer available within 30 seconds of attempting to reserve. When I called to inquire, I was told the room was no longer available but an explanation of how it still displayed on the website could not be given. Shady. I made the reservation on the phone for a room at an additional $60 from the promo room and then was charged another additional $60 for "support" in making the reservation. At no time was that additional fee disclosed to me. Additionally, the room I was given was a disabled person room, which was not disclosed to me. I would prefer to leave that room for the appropriate purpose. The tv has no apps available so all you can watch is their cox cable tv channels. I didn't enjoy the room at all and for the expense would recommend you search out other options! Carpenteria beach is always a nice get away though!! read more

We paid extra for a courtyard room with a door to access the courtyard. The room did not have a door and the view was blocked by plants. I requested to move to a regular room since we didn't have the benefits of the courtyard. I was told since they were sold out we couldn't move. I asked to have my room rate reduce to a regular room price. They wouldn't do that either. We did get one thing from a courtyard room. NOISE. I sleep with the fan running all night and a sound machine so I am surrounded in white noise. I usually never hear anything when I stay in a hotel. However the courtyard amplified the noise. The kids start playing at 6 AM and groups socialize late into the night. Even the hotel air-conditioner fan and my noise machine couldn't block out the noise. The hotel staff does not enforce quiet hours. The room and bathroom are TINY. The hotel advertises a restaurant where you can purchase breakfast. The staff didn't show up. So we had to find a restaurant and we were late to an event. Our friends stayed in the Motel 6 down the road for $200 less per night and had a much nicer stay. read more

Other than the look of it, everything was terrible here. The front desk clerks were not friendly, gave conflicting information. The biggest issue at this hotel (and I have stayed at many) was NOISE, so much noise! We had an end room that shared a wall to an outdoor staircase, we could hear every single step someone was taking, also this room was next to the entrance for the pool and that door would slam every single time someone went in or out. When our "neighbors" ( people in the next room over) would talk in a normal tone we could hear every word they were saying. The floor above us obviously had wood flooring... we heard loud creeking wood floors throughout the day and night. There seemed to be no noise canceling or any type of sound barrier for the freeway traffic. Also, anytime someone would start their car-we knew it! We also had a flickering light in our room near the doorway. It didn't really affect us too much but just another negative about this location. The restaurant they have onsite is closed most of the day and even though our room menus give us "room service" hours- they do not provide room service. The pool is heated ... barely ... enough to stand it for no more than 10-15mins - not what you would think of when you hear "heated pool". The room itself was clean but the mattress was terrible, my back was hurting throughout the entire trip. Shower had very little pressure and the knob used to turn the water on and off would get stuck on a long screw sticking out of the wall ( I get they are under construction but sheesh!). The drain plug also did not work so I couldn't give my young toddler a proper bath during our 3 night stay. Nothing was relaxing about this place other than the look of it and the cool pond near the entrance with fish/turtles in it. I regret spending my money here and will never stay at another Best Western again. Way overpriced for the experience (or lack there of) read more

Stayed here for two nights in July and let's just say... never again. So expensive for what it is and dirty. We always check the beds where we are staying and we're shocked.
