Great place! I was worried by the other reviews. The people here are so sweet and welcoming, the rooms are clean, the place had beautiful touches of all over, from the bed frames to the tile on the ground. We easily found someone cleaning up the rooms in the morning and asked for extras of what we needed and when we arrived we did not see someone at the front desk, but they were just around the corner walking around so just a little patience with that. It's close by to everything you need and pet friendly! Hope you give this place a try!

    Sewage backed up into bathtub

This hotel is horrendous. Was supposed to stay 2 nights. Walked in and the room was dirty, stained, missing cabinet doors. The morning after our first night the toilet backed up into both bathtubs. I let the hotel staff know and they did nothing to help the situation. They said the person who deals with these issues had the day off. We then checked out. Heard nothing back from the hotel after multiple attempts to check in and make sure they corrected the issue. Not only is the hotel disgusting, customer service is awful.

I will never stay here again! It is a cute motel in a decent location but poorly managed, and the bathroom smelled like sewage. Breakfast was on par for a cheap motel. We booked two nights with our dog. Tropical Storm Hilary was arriving, and we got two phone Emergency Alerts from the National Weather Service to stay off the roads. I called the Casa del Sol repeatedly and was never able to reach anyone. I could not even reach the answering machine. After the 6th call, I talked to someone who said they would postpone our two-night stay. I got a confirmation email for the revised reservation without any date changes. I called again and reached someone on the 5th call. I was now told they would not refund my first night or move our reservation, so we paid for two nights and only stayed one. The front desk lady was amiable and an employee who could not make changes or explain anything. She had difficulty taking off the $25/night pet fee for the night we did not stay. She eventually took this first-night pet fee off our bill. I regret the terrible experience because I wanted to like this place. Motels pay for services like booking.com, kayak.com, or Expedia.com. It seems wrong that they told me if you wish to bring your dog, that you must book directly.

    Front of hotel.

For the price, this is a comfortable place to stay. Close to the beach, has bicycles, and a cool kind of funky, old-school vibe.

It's near the freeway, downtown Carpinteria, beachs, and a suburban shopping plaza with a grocery store ( eateries, Starbucks, fast food). Pros: + Complimentary breakfast. This was quite a spread and the egg and protein hot items rotates. Eggs one day could be a cheesy omelette patty and the next scrambled. The protein was bacon strip, pork sausage or turkey sausage patty. They had a pancake machine, very simple to use, just press a button. There were cinnamon rolls, bagels, bread slices, muffins, three cereal offerings, yogurt, and fruit (bananas, oranges). Coffee, tea, juices, milk, and even had almond milk. The women working the breakfast were amazing. Cheerful and helpful, adding to a great start to the day. They were taking care to refill hot food trays and tidying the area. + Outdoor swimming pool and hot tub. + Fitness center. + Free WiFi. + Free lending library in the lobby. + Complimentary 24/7 coffee and tea station in the lobby. Other: - They leave a printout of your receipt on the floor outside your door the early morning before checkout. I'm not a fan of this practice. Because we all know, people are noisy. I asked mine to be left at the desk. - The sole elevator is super small. Barely large enough for the bellhop cart and one person. - One of the two washing machines, in the guests laundry facility, was broken during our visit. - Not enough USB ports, for my liking, in the room. - The room's mini fridge temp was on the fritz. It froze my items even on a low setting. - Microwave was not cleaned. Still had the previous guests cheesy blob in it. Yikes.

There is a table right at the window so you can enjoy dining/reading/sitting with an incredible and private VIEW! This time we got the only accommodation that has TWO rooms-- so it felt like a small apartment without a kitchen! It's extra spacious and allowed everyone to have their privacy. The rooms are SUPER cute! Yes, the furniture is old. Yes, it looks like grandma's house. But from someone who has stayed in luxury resorts most of the time, these charming and timeless rooms have a special place in my heart. I'm not even sure if this makes sense, but the ambiance welcomes you with open arms and makes you feel right at home. It truly feels like I came to grandmas house. It feels so familiar and I know for a fact, staying here is healing my inner child each time. We all know the views are absolutely incredible-- I mean... breakfast buffet overlooking the cliffs AND you can watch surfers and dolphins in the distance while you enjoy your food? Can't get better than that. You can go visit the shore during low tide or walk over to the pier that leads to an island! This hotel is tucked away from the city and I absolutely love the seclusion. Although it's right next to the highway, staying here feels like stepping into a peaceful parallel universe-- the world still moves on the other side of the wall, but you're suspended in your own quiet, dreamlike bubble until it's time to return to reality. The service is too notch! She has gone out of her way to accommodate us and never made any request feel like it was too much or an inconvenience. If you thought this place couldn't get any better, it DOES-- they have a Restaurant that serves lunch and dinner!!! Let me stop before I write a novel. This has literally become my favorite hotel.

The accomodations there were absolutely gorgeous. I actually can't wait for a reason to go back again soon. DETAILS... This was the perfect place a get-away weekend with my husband. The garden and suites are all beautifully arranged on the property, the garden had a beautiful layout, the pool and jacuzzi were amazing (seriously amazing), and our dog had just as much fun as we did. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The suite was clean, the TV had an HDMI cable that we were able to hook our computer up to to watch Netflix, the bed was very comfy and clean, and bathroom was very clean, and the overall space was exactly what we were looking for. There are enough parking spots for all of the guests, and all of the guests were very low-key and pleasant to be around. Although all of the suites were rented out we actually barely ran into everyone and it felt as if we had the entire area to ourselves. I think one of the biggest perks on top of all these amenities is that our dog was allowed to enjoy the place just as much as we were. We are looking forward to another reason to take a trip up to Santa Barbara/Montecito area so we can stay here again! I would definitely recommend this place.

I had initially made reservations on the 8th of June for beginning a stay starting June 13th. As I am working in the area on a temporary contract . Upon check in at 10 pm at night I was shocked that the room that was initially $94 a night had increased to $330.00 due to graduation in the area. I spent 25 minutes at the front desk speaking to a very nice and extremely helpful young lady named Zen, who informed me that she understood my position and that I would not be charged for the room as she didn't see any charges placed on the CC used to hold the room. It was during this exchange that I believed that would continue to be the case and left with a business card to follow up if need be. Imagine my surprise when I checked the following week to see the charge was not only there on my credit card but whomever I spoke with when I called and inquired as to why, when I was told different the night I was there. I told them had I been made completely aware, which I was not, that my credit card was going to be charged regardless I would have had to stay and deal with the price gouging. There was no attempt to reverse the charges or ANY type of customer service when it came to this whole exchange. I have disputed the charge with my bank. When I told the woman who I was on the phone with I would be leaving a negative review on every site I could, her response was, "Its a free country, you are entitled to your free speech and opinion." At which point after having her talk over me the entire conversation to try and justify this, I hung up. If I could have left zero stars I would have. Absolutely no reason this should have happened and the amount of miscommunication is beyond comprehension
