This was our 3rd time going up to Paso Robles to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. We always love stopping at Rosewood in Montecito for a wonderful pit stop. The food is excellent, I especially loved the Blue-fin ceviche appetizer. My wife got the ribeye steak tacos and we both had a few cocktails. The view is amazing from the honor bar. Still can't believe I've lived here a third of my life and only been here once... well, make it twice! But it was so worth it and etched in my mind and soul since Santa Barbara will always be a lovely place that I'll remember fondly with all its beauty and nature. The food was delicious as were the drinks but I did have to deduct a Star due to three separate episodes of sub-stellar service which I have come to expect from a Rosewood, especially one in which the average nightly rate is in the 2-3k range. At 3 separate locations (the bar over looking the ocean, on the beach itself and at the poolside, service was sparse and incredibly slow. The latter was room temp and a second took 15 minutes to arrive. The fries we order as an app was delivered more as a suffix to our meal and the poolside food delivery took over 30 mins. The last time I stayed there, they overcharged me and I have been calling almost every day since trying to get reimbursed. We stayed in the Garden Bungalow Suite and it was just immaculate. Everybody they worked there from the valet to the servers, amazing. The manor bar was great, the drinks were amazing. The pool and the scoop shake were great. Housekeeping was amazing. The only thing I would critique slightly was the food at the revere room. We were making our way back from Santa Barbara and decided to enjoy a seaside snack and a beautiful glass of wine before returning home . This is a gorgeous, beautiful expensive property. You really need a few hours just to soak in all the East Coast vibes. We had some delicious nibbles at the bar, their guacamole is delicious. The tacos so yummy and the tartar tostada was very fresh. They carry some very nice wines as well as beers and IPAs Super dog friendly. I was only sad that I didn't have my furry friend with me. Lots of great outdoor seating they've got the couches the bar area the high tops tons of heaters it was probably 60° on the patio bar, but everyone seem to have a heater and it was so cozy. No sunset for us. But the sound of the crashing waves was enough. read more

Please be careful going to the beach here. They have sand fleas and flies that bite. The beach also has a lot of tar that will stick to the bottom of your feet. Make sure to wear swim shoes that you can throw away after swimming as well as deet in order to avoid the bug bites. Sit on a chair instead of on the sand directly. Also, there are several dogs off leash on this beach. All dogs are friendly and may approach you for a nice petting session or to play fetch. read more

The tagline of the Rosewood Miramar should be "joie de vivre". We stayed at the Rosewood and were lucky enough to stay in the Grove Suite. Wow - it was positively spectacular. If you're not familiar with Montecito or Santa Barbara, the two areas are just fabulous. The Rosewood Miramar really fits right into the charm of this gorgeous landscape. The Rosewood itself is extremely high end. We've been previously for dining and by just visiting the property you can absorb how much attention to detail goes into every aspect of this place. The lawns, grounds, landscaping, artwork, wall paper - it's all so intentional. It's all pristine. Even the light fixtures are drool worthy so there's just a very high emphasis on detail here and the totality of that in any space really does yield and create that magical feeling of luxury and high end elegance. There's a classy, sophisticated Hampton kind of feel to this hotel. The winding staircase off the main has an old fashioned feel to it even though it's brand new but it also elicits this emotion of being at your own home - albeit a mansion, but it feels warm and homey. Nothing about the Rosewood feels stuffy or pretentious or unwelcoming. We dined in the Revere dining room for breakfast and were seated inside. I felt like a princess sitting against that beautiful lead glass with all it's glinting cuts. And their homemade, seasonal fruit, no sugar added jam! That was like ambrosia. I loved it! OK - Moving on. I hope i've established the feel of this place! The Grove Suite was spectacular. I loved the view - we had the ocean, the train, the revere dining room, the lawn, the WEDDINGS! there were multiple weddings taking place while we were here and we were overlooking all their glory. Secondly, the pool here is stunning. It was constructed so that the water is at walking level so it gives this illusion that you can walk right on it. It's very cool and the first i've seen of that type of pool. The pool bar was super handy, lots of staff and the pool valets immediately came out and set up the chairs for us. We had the cobb salad here which was great. Same with the beach. the beach valets brought over umbrellas, set up our chair- it was very helpful. All in all, I simply adored our stay here. We barely left the resort except to meet friends. We never felt bored, we enjoyed the sunset, the beach walks, lapping the grounds with our dog, enjoying the sunset from our balcony, the various seating areas, the quaint outdoor fireplace. There is just so much to love here. The housekeeping staff kept our room immaculate. The front desk staff were welcoming, helpful, friendly and upbeat. The valet were definitely the nicest I've encountered- not snooty or rude. they even offered cool or room temperature water at check out. The wait staff everywhere, the Revere room, the pool bar, Caruso's, the Miramar Beach Bar - were terrific. Btw, there are even MORE dining options that we didn't try during our stay but hope to in the future. I love visiting this hotel so much, I'll definitely be back even if it's just for a meal. It is worth it. This family friendly, dog friendly resort is just that - FRIENDLY! Which comes as no surprise given it's created by Rick Caruso. I can't recommend this place enough. Enjoyed my stay over this long holiday weekend. The grounds of the Rosewood Miramar Beach are top notch and if I could, I would give them 10 stars. This property has something for everyone, all ages as well as the dogs! It was quite a romantic weekend as it was the long weekend of Valentines day. Lets just say love was in the air in every direction you looked! It is such romantic spot to go with for an anniversary, wedding, date, Valentines day or any holiday. They have a lot of special details that go into celebrating any holiday you stay for! Every single staff member at this property works together as a team and everyone from the valet, to the reception desk, to housekeeping were absolutely lovely. All the staff seemed happy and genuinely passionate about their work and being their working during the holiday weekend! There was something going on in any direction you looked. So much entertainment, I could just sit in those chairs on the center lawn all day socializing and people watching. The event coordinators and teams that were there for the weddings that were happening did everything with smiles on their face. It was just such a great ambiance of people on this property, everyone spreading good vibes and welcoming kindness. All of the servers we had the pleasure of meeting at the various restaurants or concessions were absolutely darling and seriously made our stay unbeatable! The pools were sooo nice and well kept, it was very relaxing to hangout at them. Even though there are kids staying on the property they were also so well behaved, quiet and quant. The entire property and all of the detail in the flowers, the planters, the valentines day/seasonal décor as well as the high end shops make you feel so luxurious. The landscapers do such a great job here every hedge was absolutely perfect. I loved walking with my dog on the cobblestone pathways between the seclude, private bungalows. It is so amazing a place this luxurious is dog friendly and you would never even know! The dogs were all so well behaved and I never saw any dogs making a mess or causing chaos. The hotel lobby is beautiful and super picturesque. Everything is polished and well taken care of shining at all hours of the day and perfectly kept in place but it does not feel stuffy! All of the restaurants we tried were delicious. The sushi was highly recommended to us and lived up to the hype! The charm on this property is one of a kind. The ocean views from the room as well as the actual private beach down below makes you feel like you have escaped and you on some beautiful private resort just like the feeling you get from watching movies. There is free parking as well as valet parking which was pretty busy when we arrived so we tentatively parked in the many open free spots planning to move it but forgot and ended up leaving there all weekend which worked out well! Montecito is gorgeous and the views and grounds of this resort will make you feel like you are a star. There is some construction right off the freeway but seems like once that will be complete the drive into the property will go even smoother and more beautifully. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all five star meals as well as everything that is provided for you in the rooms. I feel very grateful that I was able to absolutely escape here to have the most well needed recharge this past weekend. The fact that my dog is welcome makes it all worth it! We had the best time. That said, Growing up going to the original miramar, it was much more organic and I do wish they kept some of that hidden charm but the owner developed it to be more of an LA spot copying the style of THE GROVE in LA. The food needs a bit of work as it is trying to be LA but not acheiving the same standards and yet not really being a Santa Barbara style food place either. They also have a few colorful lattes that seem to be trying to be like That's My Jam's lattes in SF but not using the same quality ingredients. These details don't detour me but worth mentioning because the prices are reflective of that sort of attention to detail. read more

The rose wood is a solid 3 stars! We had been to the rosewood in Montecito many times before but this was our first time staying on the property. All the times we had gone before were either for lunch or breakfast and it had always been amazing! Staying here has changed our perception of this property a little bit. We have stayed at some of the best hotels on the planet and I feel like anytime you get past the $1500 per day mark all the hotels are all great with good rooms, great locations, beautiful properties. What sets the higher price point hotels from the $700 or $800 hotels is the service! This is where I believe the rosewood in Montecito not necessarily failed but I would say missed the mark. We have stayed at other rosewoods around the world and we felt like this property does not even live up to those hotels when it comes to their service. We were originally going to stay for 2 nights but I am really glad now that we only stayed for 1 night. Our room with tax came out to be around $2,200 per night. I felt like $2,200 for this hotel was not worth it because of the little details in service. It all started before we even got to the hotel. We had contacted the concierge via whatsapp requesting a booking at Carusos their fine dining establishment. We were told that they were going to make a request to the restaurant to see if there was any availability. We got a text about 30 minutes later saying there was availability and if we wanted it. We confirmed with them and had a booking for the next night at our desired time slot. The next day while we were on our way to the rosewood we get a call from the hotel asking us that they noticed that we had put in a request to dine at Carusos and they had a spot open up. I went on to inform them that we already had a booking and we confirmed it with one of their concierge agents the day before. They went on to say that they did not see our booking and they weren't necessary rude over the phone but very dry in the sense of "I dont see a reservation". At this point I was just confused and I was like ok we will just take the reservation that you are offering us. Just the tone of voice was not rude but not nice at the same time either. This was out first situation in terms of the service. The second occurred while we were checking in. The check in agent was really dry and short as well. Not sure if this is the vibe they are going for but never had this type of experience checking in at any other the other high end hotels. After checking in my wife and I decided to go to the beach bar. I was extremely confused as to why I had to wait 30 minutes in order to grab a drink. We are staying on the property and 75% of the tables were empty yet we were still given a wait time of 30 minutes. This was a little annoying as the manor bar was not open so this was the only place to grab a drink but we had to wait. The next day we also headed to the revere room for breakfast and again there was another wait of about 20 minutes for a table even though we were guests of the hotel and there were a ton of empty tables. The hostess again had the same tone as the person on the phone and the check in agent. I honestly found the fact that we had to wait at these places even though we were staying at the hotel a little annoying to be honest. All the staff is on the younger side nothing against young people my wife and I are also pretty young. But it seems like the younger staff on the property is not as polished or trained in order to handle the type of clientele the Rosewood draws. They all just seem like they are simply doing a job and really dont care about providing a service. Everyone is a little monotone and just love handing out wait times! Also the dining at the hotel is hit or miss Carusos is Absolutely Fantastic 5/5 Manor Bar is Also amazing with great service 5/5 The revere Room food is ok service is ok 3/5 Beach Bar food and drinks are ok and service is ok 3/5 Ama Sushi has good service but the food is ok 3/5 The highlights The property and location are amazing Beach views Carusos Manor Bar With the live music There service at this hotel def needs work and I hope they can turn it around! In conclusion I would say the rosewood is a great property to visit during the day and maybe grab a bite or a drink. I just got back from a weekend of staying at Rosewood Miramar Beach and it was one of the best experiences I've had. From the moment we drove into the parking lot, the valet team was professional and extremely welcoming. The front desk staff welcomed us with friendliness and the bellman walked us to our room with our bags. The resort itself is breathtaking and the details are beautiful. The landscaping is perfect and there's something to do for everyone. The adults pool was nice and quiet with great food and drink options. The resort offers different food options which makes it easy to stay onsite during the entire weekend. I personally loved Ama Sushi. I thought the food and the service was outstanding. Overall, this weekend at Rosewood was more than a weekend getaway, staying here was an experience! I went to a birthday lunch. The holiday decorations were fantastic. The service was mediocre. The acoustics were terrible. It was soooo loud! The table was so wide you could not even talk to the people across from you. I repeat it was so loud. It took almost an hour to get my food and because I had to go I asked they just pack it to go. When I got to my next destination I saw my very sad looking /expensive $$$ /salad was missing the chicken. And the valet people were snarky /bored/ and grumpy and I watched them bringing people the wrong car. It is now on my Do Not Repeat list. read more

Our son hosted his anniversary at the Rosewood on a Saturday night so we decided to book a room to be close to the event. We booked in January and were given a rate for the one night indicative of what we would expect for summer on the beach in Montecito. We contacted Jakob in guest relations to ask for an early check in. He was very responsive and told us he would do his best to accommodate us, and someone would text us to let us know when the room was available. When the day of the event rolled around we did not hear from the property but arrived early and the room was ready and waited for us. Our son's event started in a private room with dinner for 36 which started with corn bread, burrata salad, and a veggie chopped salad. Next up was yellowtale crudo. Pasta for the table was rigatoni vodka. The choices for the main course were Buddha bowl, roasted stripped bass, roasted rocky canyon half chicken, and New York strip loin, ( which I had and it was AMAZING). Desert was carrot cake and olive oil cake. All of the food here was absolutely the best we have ever had at a large event. It tasted like each dish was prepared personally for each of us and not for a group. We then moved the party into a room called the " study",which had a lush couch, large comfy chairs, a fireplace, and warm wood finishes where even though bar service was not available as a general rule they made an exception for us and took great care of us. It was definitely a night my family and friends will remember for years to come. Everyone here went above and beyond to accommodate us in more ways than one, which the meaning of Jacob and Javier will understand. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Had a little staycation and was very happy with my stay. Pros: - The property itself was very beautiful, from inside the lobby, to the lawn, to the beach, to the pool area. Everything is very tasteful - Staff really go above and beyond to be friendly, engaging, and polite. They are frequently offering guests bottled water and being helpful - Rooms were very pretty - Plenty of restaurants at the hotel, and I think I went to nearly all of them during my stay - Ama, Revere room, Caruso's, the Cabana Bar, and the Manor Bar Cons: - Walked along the beach and our feet got very dirty from the oil. Staff was kind enough to give us a spray to clean our feet, but it was kind of gross and I wouldn't suggest people go into the water without asking how oily it is - It was my first time there and admittedly I got lost looking for room a few times. Many of the rooms were scattered across various buildings separate from the main building. While staff have golf carts, just be aware there is some walking involved (just in case you plan on bringing your sweet gma who uses a walker to get around). - Ridiculously expensive. I don't think I could justify paying for a stay here. Maybe if it was a splurge for a once in a lifetime event, like if you were proposing or on your honeymoon. But I am too poor to be coming here multiple times a year. Would I come back? If I didn't have to pay for it, in a heartbeat, but until I get that sugar daddy, probably not. read more

We ordered the Cobb salad, omelette, and brunch pastries. You can taste the freshness and quality of each ingredient. The cheese danish with berries is a must! Also you can valet and validate your ticket at this restaurant. Overall thoughts about Rosewood Miramar: The moment you arrive at this hotel you are in luxury. The grounds are beautiful and the service is top notch. Only downfall would be the loud noise from the train. One of the most exquisite hotels I've had the pleasure of dining at. Let me start off by saying upon arriving the valet service was one of the best I've ever had. After being escorted to the restaurant which I had brunch at called "The Revere room" I was sat down, immediately helped by a server asking what I'd like to have. The service was 10/10! My server was amazing, professional and deserved every bit of tip I gave her. She explained the menu in every single detail possible. I ordered the bacon omelette with their house made sourdough bread which was probably the best omelette I've ever had. For a light dessert I ordered their (made in house) danish trio. That is a must when ever coming to have brunch here! Every single item I had at this restaurant was perfect. Was it very expensive? Yes. Absolutely beautiful daycation what else can I say?! To start off, there is free public parking along the street in front of the hotel as well as the convenience of valet parking. I was greeted at the front desk this morning by a couple different employees. Check in was easy and she brought me to the center lawn in the middle courtyard area which was absolutely spectacular for the views informing me of the layout of the hotel. Two pools one for adults with a bar and one for families with kids with ice cream available to order. The ice cream cones looked absolutely delicious but I opted for adult beverages for todays outing. FYI: I heard the chocolate was the best! The poolside menu was fantastic as I have trialed a couple different beverages now and hands down my favorite around! Passion Colada, Margarita and Mai Tai!!!! Top 3 for cocktails by the pool in the hot summer sun! I think these are the best cocktails I've had in a long time. I also decided on some food and went for a cheeseburger and fries which were pretty delicious since I was craving a burger. Service is terrific between the towels, water, drinks and food. And yes the pool is spectacular clean and refreshing. Since it's been so hot, water was definitely on the warmer side. However, I enjoyed getting in and out of the pool every time I started getting too hot. I will definitely be back again for sure! The beach bar which reminded me of sitting on the deck of a cruise ship, in the back of the hotel looking out over the water.
