Cute fireplace!

I'm definitely a fan of Beach House Inn! This is a cute cozy friendly Motel with pretty much everything you could need. You have a nice patio outside where you can enjoy free coffee and your pet can hang out too. Inside you have a huge screen TV with a nice selection of movies for free. There is a small desk for working and small kitchen with all the appliances you need for food and cooking. There is also free parking in the back. The rooms are somewhat quiet so you won't be disturbed at night and other guest's dogs don't bark. You are given a map of the area so you can easily find your way around Santa Barbara beach. The beach is 5 minutes walking distance and cafe's and restaurants are literally all around the area. The room we paid for was a total of $227 with pet fee included for 1 night and we thought it was worth it. I highly recommend this little Inn and I'm sure you won't regret it!

The beautiful courtyard

My husband and I absolutely loved this place for so many reasons. The courtyard pictures are what attracted me to book the room and it was even better in person! It was full of beautiful plants and trees that attracted hummingbirds, sparrows, finches, bluebirds, butterflies, dragonflies and more! It was comfy and peaceful. A great place to relax with coffee or a glass of wine. Who needs a pool! The room was so quaint and homey. It had a split door that was great because you can leave the top open for the view and airflow. There was a separate fully stocked kitchen area with fridge, stove, seating, toaster, coffee pot, and microwave. There were two comfy leather chairs with ottomans that we moved in front of the TV so we could watch a movie in the evening (from their DVD selection). The bed was comfy enough and the new windows have security stops so you can safely leave them open at night (but there is an air conditioner too). There is also a nice electric fireplace. My only issue is that there is no place to set your things in the bathroom to get ready and the dresser area is too dark so I kept walking back and forth. The staff was super friendly and helpful and everything is in walking distance. We parked the car in back of the hotel and left it there for the weekend. We cannot wait to come back and bring our dogs with us (and a lighted makeup mirror). We have stayed at a lot of nice hotels and I do consider myself a bit of a hotel/B&B snob (no hotel 6 or comfort inn for this girl!), but I can honestly say this was one of my favorite places to stay. To top it off the rates were great for the area!

I saw the reviews on a Yelp and I decided to give this place a try. The 4-1/2 star rating is accurate. The customer service was fantastic! The place itself is quiet, quaint and conveniently located to everything you may want to go. Two blocks from the beach, we walked to the pier and enjoyed an art show and went bike riding. They even referred me to a great doggy daycare so we could visit the Zoo! We stayed in the 1 bedroom suite which had a full kitchen which had glasses, dishes, pots and pans and a private patio and was humongous. They were lots of windows and two queen sofa beds and a sofa sleeper in the closet. Also in the bedroom, they was ample closet space. We definitely enjoyed our stay and I would stay here again.

Great place to stay. Walking distance to the beach and state street. Well maintained and very clean.

Love room 11!!! $10more and worth it! You get this huge patio that is completely private to your surrounding guests. Your own walkway! We brought our dog and your not allowed to leave your dog in the inn, but that's perfect! The owner has a dog or two so they are extremely welcoming to every furry pet. The rooms are clean clean clean like you're in your own little cottage. Fire place, flat screen tv, the list goes on.

Just chillin outside on their lawn!

This was our first vacation with our puppy and what a great experience Valerie and her staff at the Beach House Inn made it! The room was so much cleaner than I thought it'd be considering it's a pet friendly hotel. The amenities included in the room are great, from the extra dog bowls to your own fridge and freezer to use. Only drawback was we could only stay for one night... we had a blast!

Tala loves it here. The nice proprietors provide sheets so she can lay happily on the comfy chairs.

Ask the Community - Beach House Inn

If I'm reading the pet policy correctly, the establishment charges $250 if you leave your pet, even if they are crated? What if you need to run to the store quick and it is too hot to leave your pet in the car?

I stay here, and many other inns, hotels, motels, airbnb etc often with my dog. They all stipulate that pets are not to be left in the room unattended. This seems best for the pet for many reasons. I have adapted my vehicle ( with a wire kennel/…

Note this hotel has NO pool. This hotel does have FREE parking. Which was a plus as one of our friends drove to Santa Barbara. The customer service we received during our stay was excellent. The breakfast snacks laid out in the morning was a nice touch. Especially if you want something light before you start your day. You'll find that the hotels in Santa Barbara are pricey including La Playa Inn. I don't regret staying here though because of the excellent customer service we received from staff.

Beautiful outside property, poor customer service for our anniversary…read more Pros- There were a few positives during our stay. The bed was very comfortable, the evening wine and cheese service was a nice touch, and the continental breakfast had a decent selection of pastries. There is a pretty courtyard in the front with comfortable outdoor furniture. Also, the room we had included a little kitchen with a stove and full fridge. CONS- Unfortunately, the negatives outweighed the positives. The room had a damp, musty smell and the towels were rough and uncomfortable. The biggest issue was that the hotel was renovating the room directly next to ours. We endured CONSTANT construction noise and workers yelling throughout the day, and it continued well into the evening. My husband and I brought the issue to the attention of the front desk three separate times, both to daytime and evening attendants. Each time we were told, "I'll let the manager know." Unfortunately, we never heard from the manager, no one followed up with us, and nothing was done to address the situation. The noise continued for all the days we were here. We were not offered another room, an apology, or any form of compensation. Even a simple gesture, such as a complimentary bottle of wine, would have shown that the hotel cared about our experience, but nothing at all was offered. In fact we were told by the female evening attendant to "Contact your booking agency to complain". To make matters worse, one of the reasons we booked this hotel was the advertised back patio, but it was not accessible during our stay. If an advertised amenity is unavailable, guests should be informed before booking. If a hotel is undergoing renovations, guests should either be notified in advance or not placed directly next to active construction. Between the constant noise, the musty room, the unavailable amenity, and the complete lack of customer service and follow-through, this stay fell far below expectations. Truthfully, we would have stayed here again if the manager or staff showed any kind of care for the situation. I cannot recommend staying here.

The staff, what can I say. They are fantastic, remember who you are, and are there for anything you need. On our last trip I would like to single out Pam who seems to do everything. We got there early and decided to get something to eat on the restraint patio, she was our hostess. When our room was ready she is the one who checked us in. Literally around the corner was State Street which is full of restaurants and ships. A nice 15 min walk to the pier - Room 314 had beautiful huge windows that overlooked the street - Staff are all very friendly and professional - Cute outdoor balcony/patio area on the 2nd floor, right off the elevator. Nice comfy outdoor couches, chairs, tables. Shaded and cool. It was a great spot for a quick afternoon drink, or if you need to do some work. We were the only ones there both times we went during the weekend - Lobby was small but very cute - Free bikes for rent (see picture)? DTSB is very bike friendly so it was a great way to get around - Valet used a text service (scan the QR code on your ticket to text the valet to bring your car around), so minimal wait time - Room had a really nice sized drink fridge. I was able to put in an entire pizza box - 2 sinks - Keurig coffee machine in room - Smart TV, I was able to sign into my streaming services - Lobby has a small bar that served coffee and continental brekkie for a fee - Relatively quiet on the 3rd floor. My room was right off the elevator and you could definitely hear some people walking to and from, but honestly pretty quiet. The ice machine was across the hall and that could be noisy but I only heard 1 person getting ice my entire stay Cons: - I can only speak for the room I booked 314, but the shower was a stall with the dreaded flappy shower curtain. If you're uncoordinated (like me) or big and tall, you will definitely feel the slap of that wet curtain on your body while showering - So the showerhead was actually leaking, spraying water above the showerhead onto the ceiling. It not worth my complaining or changing rooms, so I never said anything, but the last morning, before I checked out, it miraculously stopped spraying water. - If you're sensitive to city noises I suggest opting for a room that overlooks the hotels parking lot, away from the street. Our room faced the street right above corner on State Street and Haley, and even being on the 3rd floor, we definitely heard some night life noises - Expensive! This was on the pricey side but, due to location. I thought it was definitely worth it - The hotel is definitely older, but they worked hard to renovate it. It's not just a motel with a facelift - No pool, but the beach is just a 15 min walk away Tips: - Definitely sign up for the Hilton honors app, it'll make it easy to check in and you can pick your own room, get room key access, and check out, etc Would I come again?
