The staff is friendly, professional and knowledgable. I had them hem a cotton dress on an angle (short in front and long in the back) - they did an excellent job and understood what I wanted. I had a 30inch heavy duty zipper replaced in expensive London Fog Olive Jacket. Extremely Satisfied with replacement of a YYK Brass zipper and the detailed work by the seamtress. I am a first time customer and this was not an easy fix. I searched for qualified shops to fix this item and Best Custom Tailoring was my choice for this Men's item. The Job was finished on time and the price was reasonable for the work. I look forward to bringing more items in the future back to them. Recommend coming from the North East direction of Merrifield (away of post office) on Lee hiway to make a right turn into the shop because the left turn from the Southwest toward post office) is tricky especially during rush hour. I had the sleeves on a couple of suit jackets shortened and a loose trench coat taken in. They did a wonderful job and when one of the jackets didn't quite fit, they redid the work with no trouble. I think the owners are a husband and wife team- they are both very nice, professional, good at what they do, and their pricing is very competitive. There is another woman who works the front desk once in awhile- she is a little bossy and her manner can be off putting, but for the most part, she doesn't detract from what is overall a very good business. read more

The workmanship is excellent, the prices are not. I have brought in three different pants to have the same work done. (Shortening and taking in the legs). The prices varied each time and they seem to be on a whim as I saw nowhere where the prices were posted. The first time, they charged me $35 for alterations. This last time, the tailoring cost more than the pants themselves. ($40 pants, $50 alterations). These were the exact same model/brand of pants, and I can only imagine what raised the price this time, other than the fact they forgot how much they charged me last time (a few months prior) and decided $50 sounded good... I would recommend this place if you needed something simple done, or if you have a very expensive piece/set of clothing. Other than that, find somewhere else cheaper... read more

I decided to go to Best Tailor after reading yelp reviews and seeing 4.5 stars. Personally I don't like giving poor reviews but I'm unhappy about the quality of my dresses for the high price I paid. I took 2 bridesmaid dresses. One needed to be hemmed only and another needed a lot more work. This second dress needed a shorter hem, tighter bodice, and shortened decorative back straps. The bodice of this dress had a lot of folds but due to the ill fit, the folds were not tight and very baggy. They said they couldn't do anything about the folds because it was just the design of the dress. It was my mistake for not going somewhere else but I ended up paying an insane amount of money for the 2 dresses. And one of them didn't even turn out the way I needed it to. I took this second dress to another tailor because I was so sad and desperate. And the second opinion definitely made my dress better for $20. So overall, I would say their services are over priced. read more

WARNING: if you own an expensive men's suit and you have tiny moth holes DO NOT take it to SUN TAILORING at Tysons Galleria. They ruined my husbands Hugo Boss suit and charged me $100 as well. The holes were tiny and instead of reweaving, they placed a patch over the affected area that is one inch by one inch, when I complained and asked to speak to the person who did the reweaving they told me "she" was on vacation....I guess at $100 a shot you can take some nice vacations!!! read more

They were miracle workers. A bridesmaid dress was too small by at least two inches. I don't even know what they did but it zipped up perfectly and only 4 days later after I dropped it off. The total cost 55 dollars, that is a steal to not tell the bride to be that I couldn't fit into my dress. I will come back here time and time again. read more

I've had everything from shirts, pants, suits, and a tuxedo tailored here. They do great work, and they redid a hem that came undone for no charge (as they should). Can be a little tricky to get in and out of during rush hour, and parking is comfortably limited to three cars. read more

I brought 2 suit jackets here based on the other good reviews. They did not disappoint and did a great job from the moment I stepped in - quickly noting what they could do to improve the jackets' fit - to when I picked it - allowing me to examine their work. I had the jackets taken in from the side seems (after another highly regarded tailor from Dulles only moved the front buttons) and also had functioning surgeons cuffs added. I also had 1 jacket's shoulders reduced. All of these were executed very well, and I'll surely be back with new purchases. read more

I took two dresses here to get hemmed. One was a knit maxi dress that I just needed shortened, and the other I needed the bottom decorative hem removed, the dress shortened, and then the hem sewn back on. They did a great job and it only took about a week to get my items back. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because I haven't had anything really complicated altered yet. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I drove 50 miles 1 way to get here, so I'm serious about getting a good tailor for my denim. The first time I came, I only dropped off 1 pair because I wanted to see how they did before I left more precious pants here. When I returned, the seam was crooked and pulled forward on the sides. Ladies know exactly why you don't want your side seam visible from the front-it makes you look fat! The woman told me they were already like that. I wasn't 100% sure so I regrettably left another pair. The 2nd time, they had ironed a white crease into the legs. She told me they were already like that. I asked that they iron them out, and the man got mad and told me to do it myself. Seriously?? I came home and googled how to get rid of them, I did the vinegar and iron thing 3x, washed, re did it, didn't work. The $200 jeans are ruined. 200 miles and $200 down the drain. I needed a pair of pants altered for an important dinner on Sunday a few weeks ago. I dropped the pants off on Wednesday for pick-up on Friday. The pants were not altered quite to my liking, so Best Tailoring, no questions asked, re-altered to my particular nature and adjusted next day. The next day I was unable to return before they closed and they actually waited for me after closing 30 minutes to come pick the pants up. The pants were altered in the exact way I requested. This type of customer service is something that I haven't seen since living in my small town of less than 1500 people back in Iowa. I would love to recommend this tailor to anyone!! read more

Most of the reviews posted refer to Best Tailoring's alteration capability. I agree with all of those with very positive experiences. My review adds another element. They are great tailors! Best Tailoring made 2 pair of women's slacks for me and they fit wonderfully. Since I am curvy, I have a difficult time finding women's slacks suitable for an hourglass shape. Can't wait to see what they will do when I hire them to make a suit. read more
