Best Image was recommended to me by word of mouth and it did not disappoint. I requested an appointment on Wednesday morning and they were able to accommodate my tinting on the same day. I had a sedan tinted with 3M Ceramic IR film on all windows and paid $448. They provide a lifetime warranty for bubbles, fading, or peeling. The whole process took a little less than three hours as they finished a little early. The people seemed very friendly and cooperative. As for the actual result, it is well-worth five stars. I will keep an eye out to make sure the tint survives well, but at least for now, the car looks very very slick. read more

My rear window tint started to show a large air bubble earlier this year and I finally decided this month to have it re-done properly. Making an appointment was a breeze just by calling in on my first attempt, and I had an appointment scheduled for the following week(right before Christmas). Over the phone, they explained the price and the approximate time it would take(3 to 3.5 hours). On the day of my appointment, I dropped my car off at 9am on a Friday and after a short wait ahead of me I walked off to kill 3.5 hours in downtown San Mateo, which is a short walk from their shop. Pricing is clearly laid out on a board as you enter their front entrance. The rear window was $135(+$20 for premium 3M film, which I recommend) which comes with a lifetime warranty on the material and labor. I arrived back at their shop a bit early at 12:10pm and my car was in the driveway already completed. Note, air bubbles take 1+ months to fully disappear. This shop has been in operation at the same location for 10 years so this is clearly not your typical fly by night tint shop. Longevity of this duration tells me they perform quality work that is consistently in demand. read more

I rarely write reviews, but if its bad enough, I will put one out to save other people's time. This unfortunately is one of those times. I was recommended here by a family member, but it did not change the outcome of my tint. Although they were able to get my car done within the same day, I found out that I'm no longer satisfied with my tint. On upon initial delivery of my car a few months ago, everything seemed fine. I am a very meticulous person, so I ignored the fact that there was some spray marks and leftover tint left in the car. Nothing that was too big of an issue that I couldn't clean up myself. It has been a couple months now with the window tint and spotted the biggest hidden flaw. Something I believe could have been avoided, but lack of carefulness and trying to speed up delivery of cars, I realized they have scratched the whole inner portion of my trunk when installing the rear window tint. I currently don't know if any other similar scratches are on the car, but I wouldn't be surprise if I came across more. Honestly, if they just cut the tint with a razor above the paint, without drilling so deep with a razor, this could have been easily avoided. The picture only shows one corner of my trunk, but the white scratch runs from end to end of my trunk. This is my first expensive car, and I baby it with the rest of the things I own. I am a long time customer that have been coming back here for years. This is the first time I have an issue. I came in a few days ago to have them redo a rear window tint that had dirt trap inside the film. After redoing the rear windshield tint I was able to notice a scratch on the glass. I called the shop and they told me the tints are pre cut, although 2 months ago when I first got my tint all around the vehicle they said they measure and cut the tint on the outside windows of the vehicle and place the tint inside of the vehicle. They want me to bring the vehicle back for them to see it personally and I will update this review again. Don't get me wrong customer service is excellent, however I wish they are a little bit more truthful on if they accidentally scratch your vehicle. Another thing I've noticed is that when they are applying the film on the vehicle the use lots of soap and water. In my preference I would prefer if they put some towels to catch the overspray that drips down onto the side doors, rear trunk, etc.. I hope they would take care the vehicle of the customers. The initial tint work was done nicely, although I did later see a few air bubbles on a couple of windows after a month. Fortunately, Best Image was very helpful and managed to redo those two windows. I'm glad that they were accommodating and I can see why they've gotten a lot of good reviews. I don't write reviews a lot but this deserves one. This place is known to do a great job right? Not in my case. They scratched up my car. I'm putting this up until this gets resolved. I haven't spoken to anyone at the shop or showed it yet but I will on the same day. Came in to get it done first thing when they opened. Had my car out after 2-3 hours. Seen the car, expecting that it will still have bubbles and some residue that they had used, it was there and I was not bothered because I expected it. Had a second car sent after picking up my first one. While I was just looking around I found the scratches and called ASAP and started to ask the update on my second vehicle, then started to give them a heads up on what they have done. Will be On my way there right now to get everything addressed. If they make these scratches go away I will be okay and maybe put an EDIT at the bottom for people to follow. read more

I called to make an appointment a week prior. I was told it would take approximately 3 hours to get the job done. Dropped off my car (sedan) on Monday at 8:50am, and it took 4 hours to get it tinted. This place is located 10-12 min walking distance away from San Mateo downtown, so there are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby while you wait. There is also a small waiting area with two seats. I tinted 5 windows in total (at 55% front, 15 % back and rear). The lady (Jackie?) at the front desk was really helpful. Great service overall. Paid $278 for 3M films. They said do not roll down the windows for 2 days, and it takes 45-60 days to get any bubbles to disappear. I plan to take my second car soon. read more

Best Image did an excellent job on our Tesla Model Y. Frank was very responsive and gave me a quote right away with different options for what we wanted. We were able to drop the car off a couple of days later and they did a fantastic job with our windows. These guys have been in the business for many years and they do a great job tinting and have affordable prices. However, I wanted to complain about their service. Door panels are always removed to tint the windows, but these guys were not careful about how they removed my door panels. I took my brand new car to get the windows tinted but they removed my door panels using sharp tools, which scratched and damaged my doors in many places. I think they need to be supervised more because the damage done during the service was unacceptable. read more

I tinted all 4 doors and rear windshield. My two of my windows had issues with tints, there was some hair and debris in the tint. Which is completely understandable and will happen. I am happy that they're willing to fix it for me. I made an appointment for 9:30AM to fix the tints for my two windows. The problem I have is with their scheduling. So I arrived at 9:30 AM to fix the two windows, I was informed that it would be ready by 3PM. I returned around 2 PM and saw my car parked at the exact same spot as I left it. No work was done on my car yet. What have they been doing for the past 3 hours? Working on other cars? I've waited a few hours to find out that they didn't even start working on my car. My appointment was for 930 AM and it is almost 2 PM and no work is done. I understand that they have other customers and other priorities to address before fixing the tints. But that doesn't mean customers should be waiting for them to get their schedule straight. It has been 3ish hours, customers' time is important too. They scheduled me to come in at 9 in the morning to fix my tints (which takes 6 hours apparently). I got here just for me to park my car there for 3 hours. While they're busy finishing up other cars, I'm here waiting for them to start on mine. I didn't not get my car until 3:45PM, I was told it would be ready BY 3PM. Had I known this would happen, I would request to come in at 12 instead. It's okay that they cherry pick for which car to work on. But please get your schedule right so you're not doing so at the expense of customers' time. read more

Back in the day.. lets say years ago (2010) Best Image was the go to place to tint our cars & I'd been recommending all my friends and family to come here. Between my friends and family, we brought a total of 10+ cars here. Unfortunately now this place has gone down hill and I will no longer come back nor be on my recommendations. In 2014 I brought my car in to get all 5 windows tinted,my husband also brought his in the same year. 2 years later I notice bubbles forming on my rear window. As per their policy years ago, they offered lifetime warranty on tints and currently their policy changed to 2-3 yrs? In 2018 I finally had time off and brought my car in to retint & had to pay for the retint service since I'm "exempt" from warranty. Now I realized my rear defrosters are no longer working!! I told my husband to keep his bubbles on his rear window until we find a better place as I dont want him to risk loosing his rear defrosters as well! read more
