Exterior and pictures may not have the modern or hexagon light aesthetic, but that's part of the business identity it has when it served the community for so long. I had to book 2 weeks in advance due to limited time slot availability, so plan ahead accordingly. Although Jeff and I agreed on a set time, I was able to drop the car off a little earlier due to a last minute errand. I came to tint my 2023 Model Y, and Jeff made sure what I chose was the best fit for what I was looking for. I wanted my tints to match in color especially when the back windows are already darkened, and Jeff was able to confirm that with a tool. I ended up going with 20% fronts and 50% rears, and the color match is pretty close to what I was looking for. My car was ready in 3 hours, and the entire process was quick and smooth. There are things to do a short drive as well if you're not from the area. He even puts tape to remind you to not open windows for at least 2-3 days! I made sure to wait a week before reviewing, and the tints turned out really good after the "cooldown" period. I have no complaints, but just wished they would tint the front windshield haha. Jeff did an excellent job tinting my Chevy Bolt EV with 35% on the front and 5% on the rear. He used high-quality film and was extremely careful during installation, I didn't see any burn marks or knife marks on the trim at all. Jeff treats customers' cars as if they were his own and even laid down protective cloths to keep the interior from getting wet. He clearly knows what he's doing and pays great attention to detail. I've taken a few of my vehicles to Auto Image and I'm always blown away by their customer service and quality. When I first started searching for the best value, I used to start by asking "how much" to every company I called but when talking to Jeff and his team they were the only one that took the time to go beyond to educate me on what they provide and how they could meet my expectations. Cars I've had done here: 2019 civic hatch = ceramic tint all around 2018 Model 3 = PPF and ceramic int all around 2015 GTR = matching existing tint from first owner 2023 Model Y = PPF full front and ceramic tint all around -choices of different levels of window tint brands and shades that fit my needs - I waited around for one of my cars and saw them filing the edges of the tint/film on my side windows. I asked why they do this and they took the time to explain how doing this extra step allows them to bring the film all the way to the edge of the windows (minimizing chances of light gaps) and filing the edges eliminates chance of the film from peeling back over the years from the windows going up and down in the window channels -happy that they also wrapped the edges when they install my PPF! I did a ton of thorough research so you don't have to. This is the place to get your car windows tinted. They use the highest quality materials (Llumar irx), the work will be done by the owner Jeff who has over 30 years of experience, and the prices are excellent. I had all the windows on my bmw x1 tinted and Jeff was incredibly knowledgeable and gave me great advice. No upsell, just facts. At most other places, they might be a little cheaper, but the product is far inferior and they will farm out the work to someone with only a few years experience. If they upsell you on something comparable to the Llumar, you could easily be paying twice as much. As it turned out, Jeff was the only one in the area who offered Llumar irx. (Well worth it.) First of all, fast and good communication. I can always appreciate that from a business these days. He's by appointment only. He can get very busy, so make sure to book ahead of time. I had a previous car tinted here 8 years ago. The car was parked outside 75% of the time. No bubbling, no peeling, no discoloration during that time. Just a clean tint install that held up. When I finally sold it, the tint looked like how it was on day 1. No surprise, when I got a new car, the first thing I did was get it tinted here again. He didn't carry the same brand tint I had before, but offered a better ceramic option at a similar price. He answered all my questions and was done in a few hours. I have the same expectations as before. This tint should hold up for years and years. He's not the cheapest, but I don't mind supporting clean and good work when I see one. Jeffery was great. I took my 2024 Subaru BRZ tS here literally a day after I got the car. Jeff fit me in and was very considerate on the delivery date; he left a few days open for me and when the car finally came in I brought it in. I got the PPF installed on the full front and it was well done. Jeff was also upfront about bubbles and edges and how it was near impossible to get them all. A few months down the line, the edge of the ppf was starting to collect dirt on the wheel well fender area. This wasn't my first PPF nor was it my first new car, I understand that this specific area is prone to dust/debris/rocks, I sent a message to Jeff asking if it was going to cause an issue in the future. He said no, but to have him bring it in and he will fix it. He did just that for no cost. read more

I heard about Auto Image through a car forum I frequent. I will preface this review by saying that I love my car dearly and I hope everyone else does too, which is why I drove all the way from Oakland to here to get my tints done based on a recommendation from a trusted source. There are many tint locations all over the place that we could have gone to but I chose this because I assumed (clearly, wrongly) that they would treat the car well. The outcome is that I do have tinted windows (still in the 2-3 week drying period so we'll see if it has any issues) that look good but unfortunately they left several scuffs on my white seats including one that refuses to come off. I actually didn't even bother telling them when I left because I didn't want to get into an argument and I figured they would just wipe off but one of them refuses to come out regardless of the multiple strategies I have used - yeah, I'm pissed. Now I realize why they didn't even bother to walk me outside to the car and show me the work they had done. In addition, they put a badge on the inside of my door without even telling me. I don't understand why they would do so without letting me know up front. I don't know if it's some sort of law that they have to put their name and address on the car or if this is just advertising but either way I would have appreciated a courtesy notification. Honestly, the whole transaction was cold and non-communicative. Would have been nice to have a bit of a conversation about the % tint, etc. but I guess you're not paying for much in terms of service other than getting the job done. Even after finishing they called me to pick up the car and when I went to get my keys they didn't even offer to come show me the work, etc. it was just a strange experience like I was inconveniencing them by taking my car there. But hey, at the end of the day I didn't need white glove service. All I was hoping for at $500 for the 5 windows, was at least for the person to not ruin my car seats but apparently that is too much to ask for. If you love your car and want someone to take care of it when doing their job, this is not the place unfortunately. read more

I've been coming to Auto Image Window Tinting for all of my window tinting needs for the last 12 years, for a total of 7 cars when including the one I am getting done today. That's a testament to the quality of their work. Out of the 7 vehicles I had worked on, only one had an issue where the film bubbled, and owner Jeff sent someone to my house to get it fixed so I wouldn't have to drive back. Other than that, all the windows I had tinted here lasted and did not give me any issues. Making appointments is always easy using email, and prices are fair. There's a waiting area with a nice couch and complimentary snacks / beverages. The only thing I'd suggest is maybe adding a tv. Then again there's always my trusty smartphone. The shop carries window films from Suntek and Llumar. I went with the Llumar IRX this time given it's touted heat rejection properties. Brought my Tesla Model 3 to get the 2 rear windows tinted so my kids could have a more comfortable ride in the back. Decided on the Llumar CTX 30. The next darkest one was 15%, which I felt was too dark. $175 including the 2 small rear vent windows too. I was going to tint the front windows, but was told anything I put would make it illegal since the windows already let around 70% light in, which is the minimum requirement in CA. They make it clear in writing that the tint won't be perfect. For example, there could be small air bubbles or small pieces of lint that might get trapped behind the tint. However, I ended up having to get one window tinted 3 times. After the 1st tint, I noticed streak marks that didn't go away after a few days. I had to wait a few weeks to get on their schedule again. After the 2nd tint, I noticed a one inch light scratch when I got home and Jeff was able to get me another appt in a few weeks. They did warn me that scratches were not covered by warranty, but when they inspected it, Mike was honest and said the scratch probably occurred when he used the squeegee to get the water out of the film during installation. I appreciate Jeff and Mike backing up their warranty and fixing the issues. Yes, they may be a little more expensive than other cheaper labor installers, but the difference is negligible. Probably less than the cost of dinner. I rather spend a few more bucks for quality, especially paying all this money for the car.
