a pet peeve about my new ride from Toyota, no factory alarm. but since I know Jeff Tom, the owner of Auto Image is one of the very best at installing auto security systems in the Bay Area, it was the a no-brainer to see him to have a Clifford alarm installed. The job was clean and done on time as promised. The installation is warrantied for life. How can you beat that?! Quality product with top notch service. Oh, and he does fantastic window tinting too. Auto Image was my first experience getting windows tinted. Jeff was extremely helpful explaining the different tint options, potential visibility impacts related to night driving, and visibility changes from applying tint over rear window defrost elements. Was very happy with the finished product. Had the tint for about a week and one of my windows got smashed. Jeff was able to apply new tint to the replaced window extremely quickly and really took care of me. Would absolutely recommend Auto Image for your car tinting needs. read more

I came here on April 25th to get my rear windows tinted with Llamar ceramic tint - I waited until the tint fully cured before writing my review. Jeff is the one who helped me out and he completed my window tinting inside an hour. Quality of the tint is great and it came with a lifetime warranty. the car feels much more cooler and the leather in the interior felt more protected. I already have those UV resistant infra-red windows but I also wanted a more aggressive look on my car as well as more privacy. I like the way that it does not look dark when one is looking from the inside (looks more HD) while totally dark when someone tries to look in from the outside. this sure did the trick! thanks, Jeff! read more

Responsive for my messages. The service was done quick and nice. Love the tinting effect. Made a big difference in heat rejection.

Just picked up my car from Auto Image and again, couldn't be more impressed! Jeff has tinted several of my cars in the past and has done an excellent job every time, which is why I continue to only use him for tinting my cars. He was able to get me scheduled in and complete the work in a fair amount of time. Jeff is very helpful and responsive to any questions you may have. Jeff was fast and easy to work with through yelp. At the time he was unfortunately booked a month out so he placed me on a list just in case some body cancelled. Fast forward less than a week later (a Wednesday) and he contacted me saying he had that same Saturday open up. Of course I hopped on it and dropped my car off in the am. Went through the tint options with Jeff. He was very helpful, straightforward and only took a couple hours to complete. Jeff did an awesome job tinting my Model 3, as the many reviews mention the team at Auto Image really are masters of their craft. Highly recommend for anyone who wants great quality work. They also carry some really good high quality tint brands (Llumar IRX ceramic for example) which was hard to find for me at other places. Booking my appointment to dropping my vehicle off was seamless and the price was very reasonable compared to shops in the area. Check them out, you'll be happy you did! read more

Excellent window tinting service! Jeff provides terrific customer service - laid out all my options, didn't push anything, was super patient and calm. Great communication leading up to and during the service. Finished the job early. Window tinting looks great. As always, they do a great job with window tint. I had all my 5 cars tinted with them over the last decade, and always comes out great with no issues. They carry Suntek Carbon or CXP, and also llumar tint with various shades. Recently had my Tesla Model 3 tinted with them. They can't do full window 1pc given the size of the rear window. they will split it in 2pcs and keep the line discrete. In my case, i didn't want 2pcs anyway cause i didn't want to darken the roof glass anymore than its already dark. So i had the tint end on the 1st defroster line which looks great cause you can't see it in rearview mirror, and its in a location that people don't see unless you purposefully look up and behind you. Overall the tint job was good. The other windows you can't see any lines. They line up the borders of the tint right at border of the window so you can't tell there's tint film on the window. Excellent work! My first car tint still good from 10 years ago and no bubbling or peeling or fading. Good workmanship. Appointment was needed. Takes around 4 hours depending on amount of cars on that day. But my experience is they have always been consistent with that 4 hours. read more

I got my car tinted with this shop 3 years ago. I was away for 3 weeks last November and when I got back, my backwindshield tint had bubbles all over it. I called the shop and they said that without the receipt/card, they wouldnt honor the lifetime warranty. Who keeps a tint job receipt after 3 years? I asked them if they could check and find me on their customer data base but no luck, which is bullshit, so he wouldn't work with me and said he would charge me the regular price + tint removal. Why would I want to have my windshield redone at your shop after this experience? I take my car to another shop to have the tint replaced and the guy said that the bubbles were due to low quality film. read more

Great shop, lives up to its 5-star rating. I originally had an appointment for mid-December, but was able to take my car in early-November because they had a cancellation. Score! Jeff helped me with picking out the tint, and didn't try to push me towards a more expensive product. I chose 50/20% 3M tint for my front and back windows, as well as clear 3M crystalline for the front for UV protection and to help keep my black car a little cooler. The end result was perfect. Not a single bubble or speck of dust that I can find. There are lower prices out there, but IMO its worth it to come here and have peace of mind that everything will be done right. read more

I really wanted to give this place a good review, but I had to go back more times then Nirvana has songs about heroin. On my first visit Mike, the installer told me all the window tinting protocol. I felt confident and left happy. I waited the required 2 days to let the tint dry (i actually waited over a week) I don't drive my car that often and wanted to give the tint ample time to dry.) After the aforementioned week I went for drive and rolled my two front windows down. When i reached my destination I rolled them up. I noticed both my windows were cover in a sticky adhesive that I couldn't remove. I called Mike and informed him of my latest discover, he told me to bring it in. I also noticed my driver side door panel was not installed correctly. When I dropped it off Mike said, "no problem, give me an hour." Waited the hour and went back, oh and I had an awesome burrito while waiting, I'll totally Yelp it when I find out the name. After about 90 minutes I went back and the windows looked good. My confidence was shaken slightly but I still left happy. Half way home, oh did I mention I live 25 minutes away? I notice the driver panel is still not in correctly and now there is insulation from the door slightly poking out from under the panel. I call Mike and I inform him, he sighs and says, "OK bring it back." On my arrival back he fusses with the panel and has a really hard time getting it in correctly. Finally after about 30 more minutes he gets it in great. Mike is also probably one of the nicest people on earth, so I couldn't rightfully yell at him, though i really wanted to. This time I leave with no confidence left and hope that I don't have to ever see this place again. Last Saturday I get in my car roll the window down and then back up. Surprise! there is more adhesive on the window. This time it's REALLY bad. It looks like someone dipped a paint brush in glue and hit the inside of my window with it. Now I'm f---ing pissed I have to hit the road AGAIN for a 50 min round trip to a guy that acts so kind I cant get the satisfaction of yelling at him, yet he continues to baffle me with mediocrity. This time he needs two hours, because he has to replace two of the films that has been badly damaged did I mention the back windows started doing it too? I bring my cousin along who owns a body shop to do a final inspection, because at this point I'm weary, need a beer and a teary nap. After he points out further tint mistakes (one of the films was under cut and you can see around the window and a piece of dust that can be seen from a solid 6 feet away.) Now I just want to go home and it's apparent that Mike wants me gone. He makes statements like, 'Well you cant see the dust spot from this angle." and "Well we use a computer program to cut those films I don't know why it's like that, it's pretty hard to notice though." I know no one is perfect, perhaps lightning struck and I was the only person ever to have this happen. But, c'mon fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, three, four times.....So, in summation I will NEVER go back, at this point I'll make my own arrangements. read more

I wish Yelp had 6 stars for these guys. I discovered Auto Image from a friend of mine at work who had his BMW 325 done. He read all the Yelp reviews and was sold. He had me sold on these guys in about 2 minutes. After my own Yelp research and a quick email exchange with Jeff to review my project and pricing w/ options, trusting my ride with these guys, was an easy decision. Jeff & Mike treated me very well. Provided me an option to leave my car or wait in the lobby with wifi. I was expecting 2-3 hours and these guys did full rear half, front windows and 2 sunroofs on my 2014 Scion tC in 1.5 hours. The lines are flawless. Their recommendations for heat & light % were perfect for what I was looking for. Jeff squeezed me in because I accidentally got my appointment date wrong. Rather than sending me away for another week, Jeff checked his schedule and made it work for me. Now THAT'S Customer Service! I've been researching tenting shops for about 4 months from both the Bay Area (where I work) and Sacramento (where I live) and their pricing beat Sac prices! That NEVER happens in the Bay. Their shop is clean, organized and their finished work is pristine. They treated me with the utmost attention & professionalism. I wish these guys ran a full-on speed shop. I'd love to throw more money their way. Thanks Jeff! Thanks Mike! read more

I'm a returning customer of Auto Image Window Tinting. I first brought in a 2013 Toyota Prius to Jeff. The tint product installed was the Llumar CTX Front: 70% | Rear: 18%. The installation and workmanship is high quality. A year later and the tint job is still in very good condition. No bubbles. No fading. Today, I brought in my 2015 STI to tint all 9 windows. I came with high expectations since the work they've done on my Prius was excellent. Jeff and his crew did not disappoint. They tinted the windows front: 50% | rear: 35%. I will certainly refer them to family and friends. I will return to them for my future windows tinting needs. To top off my highly positive experience, for the quality of tint film and workmanship, they offer the best pricing during the time of my shopping throughout the Bay Area. read more

The guys at Auto Image are true professionals and have a passion for what they do. It shows clearly in their work. At first, I could not believe what I was reading on Yelp: 1-2 month wait for a tint appointment?! Luckily, I was in no rush, as my car was still being built in Volkswagen's factory in Brunswick, Germany. So I made the appointment... My car arrived at the dealer earlier than expected and I still had two weeks left for my appointment at Auto Image. I called them up and asked if they had anything open up and if I could move my appointment to an earlier date. Sure enough they did have an opening and I saw them just a few days later. I brought in my car and I was given a very thorough explanation about the tint, i.e. what to expect, what not to expect, and the do's and don't's. Then I took some time to choose my tint. I thought the decision would be easy based on my experience with Llumar and how it stands up to even the Miami heat - where I used to live - but unfortunately, it was only available in 15% (too dark) or 30% (too light) and I was looking for something right in-between. With a little hesitation, I went with the 3M Color Stable in 20%. It looked just as good to me on their demo window and I know 3M has a great reputation for their tint, as well. I picked up my car the following day and, at that point, I fully understood why Auto Image has such a great reputation. It came out perfect. The application was consistent - no bubbles, no distortion; they even did a great job around the dot matrix. The tint was even applied right at the outside edge of the door glass. Many tint shops miss this and they leave a sloppy gap between the tint and the edge of the window. It was no surprise that Auto Image got that part right. All in all, I'm extremely happy with the results and I would recommend Auto Image to anyone. read more

Brought my 2018 Honda Accord Sport in on 11/21 to get all windows except the windshield tinted. Very happy with how it turned out. They got me in on a last minute appointment and said the car would be done in 4 hours. It was done in around 3 hours. There's a reason they have such good reviews, they know what they're doing. I waited longer than the recommended 3 days to roll my windows down since it's been raining. A bit more expensive than others but it's worth it because Auto Image is up front about what film they are installing. The one I chose has lifetime warranty for bubbling, peeling and fading purple which is nice for peace of mind. I went with SunTek CXP 45% all around the car. I think it's the perfect shade while keeping the car looking classy. I'll definitely be back when we tint my wife's car. Thanks Auto Image! read more

I brought my brand new Ford Fusion here for a tint job as my car felt naked without it. I had limo tint on the back windows of my former car and the difference between a tinted and untinted car is striking, especially if you park outside. I came to Auto Image based on the excellent reviews here on Yelp. I sent them a web query and they sent me a quote, appointment times, and relevant California tinting laws the same day. I scheduled an appointment for a Saturday. When I got there, my car GPS took me to the wrong side of Old County Road, but I eventually found them using Google Maps on my phone. I got there exactly at my appointment time and they had me in and out really quick. The shop was slow that Saturday because they said they had a few lat minute cancellations. I went with 3M 5% on the back and 70% on the front since that is the legal limit. The reviews I read said that SunTek Carbon is getting almost as good as 3M, but the general consensus on other window tint forums is that 3M is still top notch. Since I plan on keeping this car for 10+ years, I spent a little extra for the 3M. The Ford Fusion has 9 windows (two on each door plus the back) to tint so they quoted me about 3 hours. My wife followed me with her car so we explored Belmont while my car was being worked on. Two hours later, I got the phone call that my car was done. The car looks really great and I noticed the difference immediately. When I park outside now, the car does not get nearly as hot. The staff here are professional and friendly and will be my new go-to place for auto tinting. They reassured me that if the tint were to peel or bubble, its covered under a lifetime warranty. read more

Second time I've had my windows tinted here. Last time was 10 years ago on a Toyota Prius and never had issues during that period....sign of great work and quality film. This time around I tinted my new Mazda 3. Provides sound, honest advice and articulated the benefits and features of each type of film and shade concisely. Not pushy at all. Promised to be done with all 5 windows in three hours and delivered....$350 for heat reduction film. The only issue which really isn't an issue is that I had to wait 1.5 months to get an appt on a Sat because he's that busy. Can't really downgrade them for being in such demand. Amazing experience. I emailed back & forth with Jeff to schedule the appointment. Google Maps took me to the wrong location and when I called, they were polite & professional when redirecting me. When helping me select the film, they were direct and knowledgable. They are fast! They gave me a time estimate of about 2.5 hours to do my rear door windows and back window. They finished in just about 1.5, and were able to do my front door windows (with Llumar Air 80 film). I chose Llumar CTX 5 for my other windows. My infant son rides in the back a lot, and we want to ensure he is protected from UV Rays as much as possible. Their after care instructions were thorough and simple to follow. Used Yelp to help me locate a good window tint place, since the company i've been using since '98 went out of business a few years ago. Wife got a new ride, Fiat 500e and definitely needed a tint. Email and phone call from this place was very responsive and helpful. I was told that the first opening was 2 months away. When I checked in person to inspect the shop, I made an appointment a month away, but Mike/Jeff told me there could be an opening the following week and would confirm on Monday morning. Monday morning comes, and Jeff said that the client couldn't make it so I took the spot. Dropped car off and took leisurely stroll to Hillsdale for a Cheesecake Factory lunch, a peek at Barnes & Noble and the walk back. I was promised a 2 hour job, and that's what was promised.
