Kevin did an outstanding job installing privacy film to 6 of my windows. I originally selected another installer since Luminous had to custom order the film and I needed it done asap in order to stage and list my house for sale. The other installer called out sick the day of installation so I called Kevin immediately. He came out the same day to show me samples of the out of stock film and another film that is in stock but it's more expensive. Kevin offered to do the job with the more expensive film at the same cost of the cheaper not in stock film. He came out the next day on a Saturday to install the film. The outcome is stunning. A perfectly done job with no flaws. Kevin is the best. I just can't think of another business that has offered me the same level of exceptional advice, service and professionalism. read more

I contacted Luminous via Yelp, Felix and Kevin came out the next day, showed several film examples for my door project, and patiently explained the pros and cons of each option. They happened to have the material in their vehicle and went ahead and installed the film after we decided. Job took about 1.5 hours and looks great. Very professional approach and work done. read more

Luminous - door that needed heat reduction and UV protection - Home Window Tinting Near Me - Oakland, California

The blazing summer sun was making it impossible to enjoy my living room for at least half the day. I was desperate for a solution, and decided to tint the windows to help insulate the house. I reached out via Yelp to Luminous, and Kevin came in to save the day. All of the communication was SO prompt, and during our consult I really felt that we were given options that took into account both my wants/needs and the reality of our environment. I appreciated the ease of approving my quote, and the quality of the work even more. I wasn't home to see the installation, and it was so precise and smooth (even with the many oddly shaped panes in my windows) that I wouldn't even have been able to tell it was on if it wasn't for the significant temperature drop inside of my house. Luminous really knows their products, they have the skill, and they were great to work with. read more

Outstanding service and workmanship on my patio sliders and skylight. Felix was very communicative and quick to respond, and he explained all my options thoroughly. Kevin did an excellent job--worked clean and efficiently, and explained what he was doing whenever I asked. Super nice guy too! There was a small miscommunication about film type, but Kevin worked with me to come to an even better result than if the original film was in stock. The Huber Optik 40 looks and feels amazing--the heat reduction is incredible without losing a ton of visibility. Just what I wanted. I really regret not having the tint done sooner for these hot summers. Would highly recommend these guys. Fair pricing and customer service that is above and beyond. A+ read more

Felix from Luminous Window Films was great and easy to work with. Very responsive and reasonably priced. I work for a contractor and one of our guys tried to install the window film with no luck. The film was hard to work with and it wasn't coming out as the owner would like. So, we brought in Felix and needless to say, it went much better and the owner was extremely happy. Felix came in to assess the situation and told the owner he could get the same window film and install it. It turned out great and the owners are thrilled. Would definitely use Luminous Window Films again for our project needs. read more

Felix is nothing short of a rockstar. After installing a very expensive artificial putting green this winter we were shocked to see some of the fringe turf melting when the sun started to come out this spring. We had previously put film on our lower windows knowing this could happen. Well, as the sun moved higher in the sky as we approached summer, it became our top windows (~20' high) that were reflecting like a magnifying glass onto our turf. Doh! We needed an immediate solution before more damage occurred. Felix responded to our Yelp messages on Saturday afternoon and was out here by 1pm on Monday. He had a suggested a film to use but since we already had success with the perforated vinyl (Vvivid) we used on the lower windows he recommended we go that route. A quick one-day shipping from Amazon and I had materials ready for him when he arrived. He's super nice to work with, answered all my questions, and even indulged me as I showed him the damage that was occurring. I won't say what he charged, but it was very reasonable. We're fairly sure this will fix the problem, but if it doesn't, I can guarantee Felix will be the person I call to find out what to do next. Get bids if you want to, but you'll probably end up with Felix in the end. read more

Great service - on time and great communication throughout the bid, scheduling, install and invoicing process. Felix is very attentive and a great person to have in your home to provide this unique service. Highly suggest his services - a true 5 star experience. read more

I found Luminous Window Films on Yelp, requested a quote, and Felix responded quickly. He came to measure the windows and doors, showed me samples, explained the different options. I liked the quote and we set up date/time to install. Simple and straightforward. Everything went as expected during the installation. He covered the work area, did a great job at installing the films, and cleaned up. I would highly recommend Felix and Luminous Window Films to any homeowners who look to improve the energy efficiency of their home. Lastly, he is the only vendor, out of 3 total that we checked, who could install the films on the inside of the skylights, which allow the films to last longer/as long as the manufacturer warranty. If I couldn't find Felix, the other guys would install films by climbing the roofs. And they said every 3-5 years, I would need to reinstall as the films wouldn't last long due to the elements. The secret Felix had was a very tall ladder and the skills/knowledge to use it safely! read more

We found Luminous Window Films on Yelp. Felix is great. We needed film installed on an interior office window and it needed to match a previous installation on another window. He came to our offices, measured the window and ended up ordering a product that he didn't have in order to match as close as possible the film that had been installed prior to our move in. Felix had the best price by far. He is super nice and a pleasure to work with! I can't say enough good things about Luminous Window Films. read more

We needed to tint over 10 windows in our house. Bruno's response was one of the first and remained consistent throughout the process. Answering questions and providing better rates than competitors. He has a good knowledge base of other popular products out there and was willing to switch if we preferred. Was pleased that he went the extra mile helping us make an informed decision by applying and leaving samples on the windows for us to choose. The crew showed great workmanship and precision, they cleaned up very well when they were done. Our project was done quickly and efficiently, and we definitely recommend them. Absolutely awesome! Felix has been working in this field for many years and just started his own business recently. Hence, there is not much review for him. My project is simple: remove the old films and add new films. I initially hesitated about whether I should go with him. However, he convinced me in the end: 1, he was very fast to respond; 2, he was patient in explaining all the details to me and adjusting the proposal promptly as I struggled to make a choice; 3, he gave me the best quote of all three I collected. As usual, it took some time to get the material. However, Felix had it installed the next day. He was on time, wrapped his shoes before entering the house, kept everything in order, and left nothing but two beautiful windows. I highly recommend Luminous Window Films. Felix installed security and frosted privacy film on the front door window pane of our home as well as frosted privacy film on two windows. His quote was reasonable, the installation was seamless with no imperfections. In fact, the finishes look as though they are part of the original window design. Felix took real care to make sure our floors and other surfaces were protected during the installation and all debris was removed from the site. I couldn't be happier with the results. read more

We had window film on our west-facing living room windows that had wrinkled and were unsightly. The other 3 windows in the room saw minimal direct sunlight and were fine. It was a small job, but Felix came out, made two close matches and did not try to talk us into doing all of the windows in the large room. We got a price quote that was reasonable for the premium film we chose and hired Luminous Window Films to do the work. Felix had an opening in his schedule and came out a day later to do the work himself. The results were spectacular and the work very clean and professional. The service ethic of this company and quality of work are impressive and I say this as a longtime small contractor who did the same for his customers. Excellent in every regard. read more

I had a special job, I needed to use my own film which included silver for microwave protection from a nearby cell tower. Most companies would not do this. And my job was in a spiritual center, which was a quiet sanctuary where no shoes are allowed. Luminous accepted and did a great job. Their installer Omar worked quietly, respectfully and with a positive attitude. He completed the job and left the area cleaner than he found it. The film was installed with care and looks great.
