Just look at the owners response from past negative reviews. I knew he'd follow up this review with personal attack, gaslighting, and false accusations that are totally irrelevant to his behavior. Original review: Extremely unprofessional, doesnt read, and dishonest pricing. I wouldn't write this if I didn't already do my homework and research. Final price was 2x from what he originally quoted me (he claimed to be a mistake price) I was extremely clear with my job because someone who's professional enough came out and measured so I knew the exact sqft. So I knew what a professional job would cost. When I called him out towards the end regarding his pricing, he started to accusing me at me for things that's completely unrelated to the job. He gave me three prices in total. Each higher than the previous one. He said he made a mistake on pricing on the first one which I thought it was good deal. Clearly he didn't read my message thoroughly. Then gave me second / higher price which I thought was still a good price (mistake price again!!!) So I called since he ignored my text many times on yelp. When I finally decided to go with him on the second price. He gave me final and highest price and said it's a discount because he made a mistake. It was absolutely regular price compared to other tint companies in the area for the cheaper film he's using. $7/sqft. The professional who came out to measure who gave me extremely clear pricing who uses better film than this guy was $8/sqft

I was impressed even before meeting Ben in person, when I called to book the on-site survey. He is kind, informative and not pushy whatsoever (a wonderful and refreshing quality to find in a service provider). Their home office is really busy, so give them a few days for your quote & invoice (us small businesses need a little time to catch up sometimes you guys!) The minor wait will be worth it, and the service was booked within two weeks which was way quicker than we were even expecting. I can't recommend these guys enough. Thanks so much, Ben! Our salon will now be cooler and we can ditch the curtains for good.

I called a few tinting companies in San Francisco and I'll say that out of all of them, Bay Tint was by far the most professional. We had Ben come look at the work, and I felt like he was up front and honest from when he first walked through the door. He was incredibly knowledgeable, explained what was going on and made a few recommendations (fixing the affected windows or replacing everything). We had a mix of tinting and privacy film. The quoting process was excellent. Maria was super responsive over email, the actual quote broke down the costs by task (removing the old film, new film install by window and materials), so it was easy to understand and trust. Ben turned out to be our installer too, and I'll say this: I generally have anxiety with contractors in our home messing up our finishes, not respecting our property and creating problems. Ben was tremendous. I work from home, and he worked around my schedule easily. He was incredibly quiet, clean and tidy. He communicated clearly on scheduling and was on time. He's a really nice guy (I really enjoyed talking to him about his favorite projects and learned a bunch). And he does exceptional work: the windows look amazing. Overall, we are super happy with the work. Would recommend 100% (and I don't review or recommend often, only when the work is top notch, for what it's worth).

After the installation, I noticed that part of the film's edge on the larger panel was uneven. He told me this was unavoidable because the panel was longer than his cutting equipment could accommodate. He then used a ruler to trim another strip off the edge, but it was still uneven. He said that no one would get close enough to examine the film's edges and that, as long as it looked straight from a distance, it was fine. That comment made me uncomfortable. I paid him $400 expecting professional service. This is my home, and whether I look at something up close or from a distance is my choice. His responsibility is to deliver professional workmanship, rather than tell me how I should view something in my own home when I raise a concern about the quality of his work. He said there was nothing more he could do that day and left. Afterward, I discovered a large puddle of water on the floor beneath the glass. He had finished the job without properly cleaning up. After he left, I carefully inspected the installation--even though he had told me that no one would examine a glass panel closely. I found that the cuts around the glass mounting brackets were quite imprecise, and there were numerous bubbles. (But he did mention that any bubbles would disappear completely within a few weeks.)

I originally received an estimate from Dave and he arrived as scheduled and quoted accordingly. I spent a few weeks mulling it over and even though he took the time to come out and quote, he never once pressured me to proceed with the order. For reference, security film on 4 windows and a privacy screen on a floor 2 window was quoted at $4k. After a few weeks, I ended up requesting just get the one privacy screen installed ($600) and I was pleasantly surprised they were willing to accommodate such a small job. Originally, I thought that it would be a decorated frosted covering, but it's actually a fully opaque privacy film with no frills. I'm no longer able to see any movement outside of that window and it reduced sunlight entering our house by about 50%. This ended up being perfect for us since the entire reason I wanted to get this covered was because our dog would bark at this every single night when he saw movement or lights from outside. It's been 4 years of this and I wish I got this done sooner! The installer (I believe his name is Hugo) called letting me know he'd be late which I appreciated the notice. He was so friendly and did is awesome job. The sizing and alignment was perfect which I'm happy about. I did a similar window I was able to reach myself and it looked terrible.
