I have been getting my hair cut at the 'Best Haircuts' for over 25 years now but I have never got a chance to write a review so here I am sharing my personal experience at this hair salon. This is the BEST hair salon that I have ever encountered over 35 years living in the Martinez area. I have been to other hair salons from time to time thinking that I may get a better hair cut or a new experience, but those places never make me happy or proud for me to present myself in the corporate world. Thank review is only for MARY and thank goodness for her! Mary worked miracles on my thinning hair, styling it into a contemporary look as opposed to my typical ponytail. Her prices are extremely competitive, especially compared to the local salons, and the cut was frankly the best I'd had in several years. Destroyed my hair, told me to dispute the charges which I did and they said they tried to remedy my issue. My hair was so destroyed, it cost me over $380 to have it fixed at a real salon. I would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE FOR ANY SERVICES. read more

This was pretty awful! My husband has a very simple hair cut, all he's asks for is to shave the sides as he keeps the top long. She did not do any sort of fade it's shaved right down to the skin. Which is like okay, sure whatever, but omg she left patches of hair about 1/2 and inch long all over his head near the longer hairs he was so upset. And they tried to blame it on him telling hi. So... I went in with hair past my shoulders and came out looking like Thelma from Scooby Doo. I had pictures of exactly what I wanted to be done and this place cut my hair much shorter than it was supposed to be, the cut is uneven, and it doesnt look like the photos of what I wanted at all. Didnt think my cut was that difficult for such experienced staff...The people are nice and the price isnt bad but you get what you pay for. read more

My second wonderful experience with Ann, I also came there during the pandemic, when all other salons were closed and Ann gave me a haircut outside. Upon arrival I was friendly greeted. Ann shortly took me back and talked about what I would like for my highlights. Ann was very friendly, professional, talked to me during the service. She did a beautiful job on my highlight weave, love my hair. Both Susan and Kim helped Ann out during the process, with washing and blowing my hair dry. Both Suzanne and Kim were very friendly, talkative and professional as well. I will definitely return to this salon, these women are amazing and do a great job! read more

The affordable prices make this place very popular. We were visiting family in the area and I decided to take some time to get a hair cut. This place was recommended as being affordable and decent. Early afternoon on a Friday, it was packed. I hadn't bothered to call ahead and get an appointment. I would recommend doing that if you ever come. I waited for nearly an hour for my haircut. On vacation so time wasn't an issue, but other customers were grumbling. Service itself was fine. The ladies are quite friendly and many of the customers were obviously repeats. Not the " best haircut" nor experience.. made an appointment there for a Saturday for a color and cut. She put the color on and set a timer on her Apple watch.. then she started working on another girl while chatting away with her father sitting closeby. I heard the alarm go off after 35-40 minutes as I was also watching the time and she turned it off and kept working on that girl another 5-10 minutes when I finally had to say please wash the color off so my hair isn't completely dried up due to color sitting for too long.. she looked annoyed to have to stop and seemed more apologetic to them although I had arrived first and had an appointment .. quickly washed my hair and threw conditioner on and went back to cutting/styling that girls hair. Returns 6 minutes later today quickly washes my hair and cuts my hair in 10 minutes (vs the 45 minutes she spent on the girls hair) because she had scheduled another person who had been waiting. I still got charged the same amount for the haircut as the girl. I don't think I will return as they hurry/rush for some clients and take their time for others.. bad customer service. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE. they have been taking care of me and my kids for 2 years. I have referred all my friends as well and they love it. You can't complain about a 12 cut. Seriously. The ladies here are so sweet. I have always 3 different stylists here. They do my hair and wax my eyebrows. I have dealt with Kim, who cut my hair initially, and Hoa who I see normally, she is so sweet and nice, and Ann who is the manager and does a great job with hair and my eye brows as well. They all take care of me and my kids and I won't go anywhere else. Yes sometimes when they are busy the wait can be long but in my mind as a business that a good problem to have. The second I walked in I was greeted and taken care of. She was quick but very good at cutting my long hair. She was very nice and we talked a bit. WORST HAIR CUT EVER! When I walked thru the door an older white women and an older Asian woman began arguing about whose turn it was. I should have left then, but no. I asked for ab A-Line. What I got was something so uneven that there was up to an inch and a half difference in length from one side to the other. Then she brushed hair down the back of my shirt. When I complained about the unevenness, she started cutting more off the short parts! I stopped her, paid, and left. I wanted to cry. Had to pay someone else to fix it and now my hair is a full 2 inches shorter than I ever wanted it to be. I have NEVER experienced such a lack of talent and professionalism! read more

I just got my eyebrows waxed there and it was an awful experience. She took a long time waxing little bits at a time which I thought was just being thorough. When I looked at my brows later in the light I noticed uneven chunks of hair removed from the top of the brow. The underside of my brow stung a lot more that expected after a wax, and I realized that all of her repeated waxing removed the top layers of my skin. I look ridiculous, but I don't want them anywhere near my face in order to correct the job. Avoid at all costs! read more

Have been a customer at this shop for about twelve years. I always arrive way before they open so that I can be first in line. This morning, after I arrived, a guy drove up; said he had to go to work and that he had also been a customer for twelve years. I indicated that I would normally let him go ahead, but my wife was waiting for me. When the first barber (they are all women and mostly Vietnamese) arrived, she told the guy to go first. That woman had cut my hair many times. Both the guy and I told her I had been first. However, she seated him, and he didn't protest. I then told the woman that I had been first and expected the first come first served rule to be followed. I also told her she'd never cut my hair again. I am now considering finding another shop. The haircuts are generally good (in my opinion, the woman of this complaint is the worst of the several barbers), but I want to be treated in a normal fashion regarding the order of service. I am very disappointed. However, there are many fish in the sea and many barber shops on land. read more
