Stopped by to see my favorite stylist Thursday at TJ Cuts. She moved her shop from Clayton to 1975 Diamond Blvd, Concord CA 94529 in the Sola Salons suite 53. Sola is next to Panera. Great to see her. read more

Always on time, wonderful haircut and a beautiful environment. Tu is a true professional.

Thu - the owner - is very nice, professional and my haircuts are great. I like her new location and workplace. read more

Thu has moved her salon from Clayton to the Willow's Shopping Center. I came to her with a long head of unruly very curly red hair. To make it more challenging, the top of my head is less curly than the hair growing underneath. Thu cut off 2-3 inches off my hair while dry so that the ends ended up the correct length. It came out exactly as I wanted! Thu is the best, and very reasonably priced! read more

I walked in for my appointment, got ignored, sat down, and was THEN asked, "You got an appointment or somethin?" No I'm just here for fun. Then I proceeded to get probably the worst haircut of my life. Choppy and uneven. read more

Thu did such an amazing job on my hair I cried for weeks because I went to a bad salon. She completely fixed my color, touched up my roots, and even gave me a free trim. She is very knowledgeable when it comes to hair texture and color. Totally recommend! read more

It was the worst haircut I've ever had. The Vietnamese-Chinese barber tricked me into saying it couldn't be too short to save time. She just gave me a quick Pony tail haircut in 3 minutes! My hair looks like a rabbit tail! She's a liar. She only wanted to get my money quickly! Don't go to this barber shop. read more

I've been going to TJ Cuts for several years, with TiTi as my go-to for haircuts. She is really great, always gives me a wonderful cut, and remembers the details for my hair without any reminders. Seeing the results, gradually my wife and both sons have shifted their allegiance to TJ's and now come here as well! They take appointments, and everyone is friendly and welcoming. The shop itself is bright and airy, with huge windows all around, and always clean. Prices are very reasonable. A solid local business with a much more personable feel than the haircut chains . read more

I will caveat this review by saying I've only been here once. It may be a good place, but I just happened to have a poor experience. On a positive note, the place seems clean, busy and a good local salon. I'm only giving it two stars because of my interaction with my hairdresser. She just had bad communication skills and a horrible attitude. These were clear during three points in my visit: 1) When I made my reservation, it was for a cut and shampoo. When I walked in the door, my hairdresser asked my name and if I brought another person. I said no and she just gave me a weird look and asked me two more times. When I said I was there for a cut and shampoo and maybe that was the reason for confusion, she ignored me and yelled at people in the back, presumably whoever took my call earlier. 2) After my cut, it was shampoo time and she said to sit in "chair #2 with the sink". Since it was my first time there, I asked her which way I should go and pointed to the right. She just shrugged her shoulders, kept cleaning her clippers and told me to go whatever way I want. I sat there for a moment thinking she might say or do something helpful...but she wasn't. 3) When it was over, I mentioned that my hair was a little shorter than I usually get. I didn't sound upset, I didn't tell her she screwed up, I just compared this cut to my previous. She quickly got defensive and rehashed how I explained what I wanted (which was incorrect). Normally, I'm all for discussing things but when faced with someone being so defensive and not even thinking about asking me what I meant, wanted or could do differently next time...I knew it wasn't worth it. I paid, tipped her 20% and thanked her. In the end, I didn't get the cut I wanted and I left feeling like I'll never go back. To be fair, she did execute my haircut about as well as a chain salon. So if you're not picky and maybe catch this particular hairdresser on a good day, it could be okay. read more

If I can give them zero I would. Right side was way longer than the left. No layers what so ever. Titi cut my hair DRY. Didn't wet it at all. She use a razor to cut the back and barely used the scissors. I will never come back! read more

Titi is a great stylist and very friendly. Very reasonable price for the high level of service. Can think of no better place to go in the local area. read more

2 years later and it's still my go to and ONLY place I enjoy getting my haircut. Thanks Thu!!

Titi chopped off all the length on my hair. I asked her to trim, and she literally chopped off 6 inches of hair I had been growing for 8 years. To say I'm sad is an understatement. My wedding is coming up and now i have to put in extensions. This hair is not my style. I did not ask for medium length hair. Im going back in to the salon tomorrow because I am demanding a refund. I should never have paid her for the terrible botch she did. Soo sad right now. read more

Never been here before and decided to walk into this place earlier today for a quick conditioning treatment. Was told that the wait wouldn't be too long so I took a seat and proceeded to watch the stylist work on a girl's hair. She was using a flat iron on wet hair. The dancing swirls of burnt hair steam were cascading her booth and I has decided that I'd seen enough. I ran out of there as fast as I could. read more

I have been brining my son here for the last few haircuts because of poor service we received from a neighbor near by here. Everything we come it is a very minimal wait and they always do a great job. Very happy with this place. And my nine year old son likes it. read more

Oh my gosh! A desperate woman needing a change called this place and made an appointment! that was me!! and guess what? 20 dollars later i didnt know i could get awesome hair for this little money. i am so happy i will never pay more than 70 dollars for a haircut again!! read more

I was looking for an inexpensive haircut location that gave me the ability to: - communicate what 'style' I wanted to someone who actually tried to cut my hair that way - feel at ease in getting my haircut in a clean, pleasant atmosphere TJ Cuts exceeded those expectations and got me as a returning customer now for the last 3 haircuts! My first visit was with TiTi who listened and did a great job while still making sure I wanted my hair "that short?" on the sides. :) My most recent 2 haircuts have been with Cindy who similarly asked (and listened to) my preferences and delivered just as requested. read more

I love this place!! Thu is awesome and always friendly. She does great work and always very positive. I have been coming here for myself and my son since she opened and never had a bad experience. Her shop is always clean , comfortable and has enjoyable music playing. Her pricing is very fair and affordable. She even goes to get me Starbucks! YOU CAN GO WRONG! read more

My hair stylist is Thu and she's absolutely the best. She really listens to your request during the consultation process and is not afraid to make recommendations. I like that she keeps notes on every appointment and she doesn't over cut hair. I think I've found my forever stylist and I highly recommend her. I would post a picture but I don't like giving apps access to my camera and files. read more

Titi did a great job on my hair will keep coming to see her for all hair styles cuts and perm

As a cosmetologist myself I've always gone to TJ cuts even as a little girl. Thu is the stylist I always request. She's my go to stylist. Thu is so talented. I've gotten a lot of terrible haircuts in my life from beauty school, from stylist I've worked with to just trying out different places. I always seem to go back to her. And each time she does an amazing job! read more

I was very dissapointed when I got there at 6:45pm on a Thursday night, and they were closed, even though their posted hours are unitl 7pm. Because I was disapointed I called expecting to to leave a voice mail expressing my dissapointment, but someone actually answered, so I asked "are you still open?" The reply I got was "We are closing," so I said "ok, thanks, bye." (They were already completely closed, not "closing" for the record. No on in the shop, and neon closed sign on). It would have gone a long way to have gotten a more professional response, like "sorry for the inconvinience, but let me take down your name, and if you come back tomorrow, its on us, or discounted, or something like that. At least an apology for the inconvenience! I realize its probaly very slow for them on weeknights, but if the amount of business you get doesn't support your hours, then change your posted hours, because I'm assuming what is posted is accurate, and plan my schedule accordingly. I'd actually give them a 4 or 5 star rating for their haircuts, especially for the price, but have to give them a 3 star rating because of the lack of professionalism. Now I have to make a tough decision on whether or not to look for a new spot, since my wife and I like the haircuts they give me, and price, but after work is when I normally have time to get a hair cut, and I dont think its right that I should have to call to ask if they are going to be open during their regular business hours every time I want a haircut. read more

Titi is great! She has good instincts about the style that would work well for your hair type and is always very engaging. I am glad I discovered them in a pinch and I have been going to her since. read more

This place is very unprofessional and rude. I went there to try to get a hair cut, but instead of asking me if I needed help with anything or letting me know in a kind manner that they are busy at the moment, the lady rudely in the salon asked me to come back later in a very obnoxious tone of voice. I felt disrespected and uncomfortable being there. I don't care about the price of getting a haircut. For me customer service and professionalism is much more important and as long as they give a decent haircut. For everyone reading this, do ever go to this place for beauty, facial, or even a simple haircut . None of the employees speak proper English nor do they understand you when you speak to them. Communication is an essence to any business in the world, yet this salon lacks that. read more

I walked in expecting a "supercuts" mindset here. No disrespected intended but usually it's just cut and go. I spoke w/the stylist, he gave me options & I explains what I wanted. He really was informative & understanding. I got a shampoo, conditioner, cut & style, facial, upper facial/body massage & leg massage for under $80!!! I was impresed. I so needed the pampering. I'm a new mom, & have hair down to the middle of my back so it's impossible to do anything w/it I don't have time. The cut is perfect. Curl, flat iron, spritz a little gel hair dry & I'm done!! I will be back!! Thanks so much! P.S. ask for Chee (I believe pronounced like the word 'cheese' only without the 'se'). Awesome!! I feel so good. Ahhhhhh :-))))))) read more

I was a walk in for a trim and flat iron at the end of the day. Titi did a great job on my hair. Friendly.

I've been a customer for 2.5 years and every haircut has been great. Thu, my preferred stylist, has mastered the art of the fade and never disappoints. The prices are very reasonable, the place is clean, appointments are easy to make, and they even have toys for the kiddies. read more

I wish I had read Sandy C's review before taking my daughter here for hair color. We had virtually the same experience, with botched color and my daughter in tears. We spent four hours and $135 to have my 15-year-old daughter's hair ruined. It was supposed to be low lights and highlights to help her transition while growing out her previous color. She showed them a picture of what she wanted; it was brown hair with carmel highlights. The results were so bad that it literally looked like a preschooler had done it. All dark on the bottom 12 inches or so (with some red highlights). Then there were massive, uneven chunks of bright blond on maybe top 8 inches of her hair (with some of those starting 1.5 inches from her roots). It was absolutely horrendous, and they kept arguing that it was fine and/or blaming my daughter for the lowlight color that she picked. Finally they put more toner on, which just made everything different shades of yellow, orange, ad red. It looked like some kind of really bad Halloween wig. We went to Lenny's the next day and had it fixed beautifully by Jacob, who was amazing. It now looks just like the picture she had selected. We then went back to TJ Cuts with our Lenny's receipt, and she tired to say that the beautiful new color was what they had done the night before! We about fell over laughing. We finally got a partial refund of $60, after she continued to blame my 15-year-old daughter for picking out the wrong color. Seriously? If you need color done, I highly recommend Jacob at Lenny's! read more

I really like getting my hair done at TJ Cuts. She has a very clean and bright establishment full of beautiful plants and magazines for you to read. Because I have a lot of hair, I usually spend a minimum of two hours there. I see a lot of clients come in, get their hair cuts and leave as satisfied as me. read more

Awesome hair cuts for men and boys. Cheaper than the nearest competitors. Friendly service.

Worst customer service waited 30 min for them to help someone else because his hair was shorter

I've been to this salon to get a haircut like 2 times. I think the lady does a pretty good job. Also, the price is very reasonable. However, she is kind of nosy, she would ask some personal questions sometimes. Parking is never a problem here. Overall it's an OK place. read more

This place is amazing. I took my daughter there and she had long, curly hair. It was very knotted and these ladies took their time with her and gave her an amazing cut she could manage and was happy with. Their prices were so reasonable. I absolutely love this place and the kind, knowledgeable women working there. Thank you with all my heart. Sincerely, JP read more

I walked in the day before Thanksgiving hoping for a decent haircut before I saw all my relatives, and this place didn't disappoint! Friendly staff, short wait, and good styling. The cut was well done and flattering, and my hair looks and feels much healthier! I also got my brows done and all this was under $40, which was great. I will be going back! Much better than great clips for a comparable price. read more
