I first went here probably about 10 or so years ago when I worked in Concord and it was 1-2 miles away. Haven't been for a long time because I retired and live 30 miles away in Fairfield. I cannot, repeat CANNOT say enough good things about Julia. My hair is even longer since my last review. I went back to Julia today to get some curtain bangs and long layers. Again super scared of getting my length cut short. Julia did a perfect job again. Didn't cut any length! My layers came out perfectly. I was searching for salons where I currently live in Davis but nothing appealed to me so I decided to use Yelp places by my parent's home so I could get a haircut while visiting them and so I came across Julia's salon. Her salon is very clean, comfortable and cute. Since she has the salon to herself, I found it to be a very peaceful atmosphere compared to other salons that have many hairdressers and a lot of commotion. I came to Julia for a trim and curtain bangs. I let her know that my wedding is coming up very soon and didn't want too much hair taken off to leave more options for my styling and she did such a great job of dusting off my ends and leaving me with my length. Julia is the best! I first requested an appointment over text and she responded as quickly as possible! I was able to get an appointment the same weekend for my 3-year old daughter and me. To help her before the appointment, I'd recommend sending a picture of your hair, so she can fit you appropriately into her schedule. On our appointment day, I was delightfully surprised when I found that she had a Sanitation Certificate! It shows that she really cares about the safety and comfort of her clientele. As a person that doesn't care much about my hair, I found the detail and time she put into making my hair look perfect very appreciating. Not only was she polite and respectful, but she was also patient! Cutting an antsy 3-year old girl's hair is not an easy feat, however, she knew exactly what to do and was able to entertain my daughter at the same time. I love Julia! I've been going to Julia since she opened her own shop and I never EVER leave disappointed. She pays attention to detail, listens to what you want, is truthful on what style and length she thinks looks best for you and is super friendly and personable. Ive recommended her to many friends and family members and they never leave disappointed as well. She goes by appointments only now as she is the only one there so expect a bit of a wait to get an appointment. I recently moved to San Francisco and have considered on finding a new place that's closer and easier to get an appt during times of desperation and a cut but I'm SO HAPPY I never did go through with it. To schedule my appointment I called and left a voicemail and she got back to me through text to work out the details. She does amazing work! I told her ahead of time my boyfriend loves my long hair and wants me to keep it at a long length so I wanted only an inch cut off. When you tell her an inch, she will do just an inch! No more! Julia is absolutely the best! I hardly ever trust ANYONE with my hair as I have long hair and hair salons tend to cut a lot of hair off the length but Julia was so different! I was able to text her and share what look I'm going for and She was so understanding as she has had long hair before and a bad experience previously, she trimmed my long hair very little keeping my length, but just enough for my hair to feel fresh and healthy at the ends, and she gave me bangs which were so perfect! She worked with me during COVID lockdown when she had to shut down her salon but I trusted my gut and waited for her to reopen! If you're considering Glamour Cuts, don't hesitate any longer!! Julia I'd the owner and stylist and she is so amazing. She's friendly, sweet, responsive to text messages, on time, has great/affordable prices, keeps her shop extremely clean, follows all the new COVID requirements and, did I mention, is extremely talented?? She's so good at hair, she makes it looks easy. I usually want a very straightforward trim, nothing special. But she still cares about me and my hair with the utmost respect and patience. She would never rush through a cut even though I'm sure she can do it in her sleep. She charges me $20 for a normal trim, and recently I added in side bangs, and she charged me $25. Unbelievable, right? I don't remember getting a hair cut done of this caliber for under $69 prior to this. Unless it was super cuts or something, which, nothing against them, but Julia is someone I trust quite a bit more than them. She is only taking one person at a time, so it can be hard to get in to see her, but it's worth the wait!! I hadn't had a haircut since November, and was scheduled to see her in June, but then the restrictions got pulled back again and I finally got to see her September 1st! I've been looking for a new hairdresser for a long time now, and thank goodness I found Julia. I like my hair really short with lots of layers, so I really need someone who knows what they are doing. She did a great job on my hair. I know this sounds weird, but I like the fact that she wasn't super chatty chatty. I find haircuts really relaxing, so I like to just close my eyes and enjoy. I have thick, fine hair and everyone I've ever gone to in the past has goofed it up and charged a fortune for it. From the very first appointment, Julia has done an amazing job.
