My last haircut, I came out crying because it wasn't what I wanted at all and I couldn't wait to grow it out. Even though it's a bit of a drive, I definitely think it was worth it because I came out of the salon feeling so refreshed and happy. I came a little late because of a meeting, but Julia was so sweet and still accommodated me but never made me feel like she was rushing through my hair. I asked for long layers with a U cut, and face framing bangs. Multiple people have commented on my haircut, and I'm so happy with my decision!

After a lot of "Yelp Review" searching, I came across all the wonderful reviews about Patty...and am so happy that I did! She does require a consultation appt first (which initially caught me off-guard since none of my SF stylists ever did that, but it did already make me like her more) - where she took close look at my hair's current (and AWFUL blonde/orange/white/black) situation, took pictures and provided me with several options with next steps. I immediately felt at ease with her and was excited to schedule an appointment. When my appt day finally came, I was so excited and was ready for Patty to SAVE ME from my hair...and boy did she! She really listened & paid attention to what I wanted, was so sweet & sympathetic to how upset I was about my hair and really gave it the TLC it had been missing for so long! I 100% trust her because she definitely is THE EXPERT...and these "before & after" pics prove it!! I'm so happy I found her - thank you Patty!!

I originally found Patty through Yelp and I was hesitant to make the appointment at first because of initial trust issues. However, I'm so glad I overcame my fear and made the appointment anyways! Patty was who I spoke to directly and I will provide her phone number in the pictures I attach. She was available through call and text and made time to see me on a Sunday. When I met her at Touch of Beauty, she assessed my hair and asked me what I was looking for. I shared my ideas on what I wanted for my hair and she suggested something that both achieved what I was looking for and provided the necessary treatment. I've been dying my hair since I was in high school and the amount of damage I've done to it took a long time to outgrow. Not only did Patty share hair care tips and feedback to care for my hair after the appointment, she also made my hair feel so silky smooth--like I was running my hands through butter. The length that she trimmed wasn't too much and she even suggested a cut that would frame my face a lot better than I envisioned it. I walked out of the salon feeling like a new girl. I definitely looked in the mirror and said, "who is she?" She was different. If you're in the area and looking for someone you can trust with your hair, Patty is definitely the one. Hit her up! Book an appointment! She's the real deal!

I usually go 3 months between root touch up because I don't have a ton of grays yet; that is how long it takes for the amount of gray I have to "bother" me. With Katya it was the first time I couldn't find even a single gray hair after the root touch up! Usually I find at least a few hairs that got missed, so I was really amazed she covered every single gray! On black hair it's easy to see if any grays are missed so I was like WOW, Katya did the best job ever! She will be my go-to stylist for my root touch ups now! And I think I will go more often like every 8 weeks at least because it really is a nice confidence boost to have your roots freshly done! Katya is also just so pleasant to be around, she is so kind and has a lovely personality. I also have the unlimited blowout membership which is seriously the best deal in town! I don't need to wash my own hair anymore! I usually get a blowout twice a week, sometimes 3 times. Amazing if your schedule allows you to be in the salon often, especially for women who are busy with their careers. I can work on my laptop while getting my hair blow dried and curled! Sometimes two girls will be blow drying my hair at the same time while I'm working - major boss babe vibes! LOL. The blowout membership is only for level 2 and below stylists though, which Katya has graduated beyond. But many of the other girls do great blowouts too. I will leave a more detailed review later about the salon but just wanted to shoutout Katya, if you are looking for root touch up perfection, she's your gal! The owner Ashley is also a wonderful person, she makes you feel like family, she is really a gem in the Walnut Creek community.

I recently dyed my hair back to dark after being copper, but I also hadn't had a professional haircut in probably 2-3 years. Needless to say, my hair was looking dull, boring, and desperately needed some life put back into it. I happened to be in the Walnut Creek area, got on Yelp, started looking around, and that's how I found Painted Mane. I called to ask about pricing for a haircut and whether there was any chance they could take me the same day, and I was blessed with Olivia. From the moment I arrived, Olivia was so warm and welcoming. She was also very transparent about her experience and the level she's currently at, which honestly didn't bother me at all. If anything, she seemed genuinely excited to work with my hair because it hadn't been cut in so long and was basically a fresh canvas. I told her I wanted layers and a little bit of a bang, and she also recommended doing a black gloss over my hair, which I agreed to. BEST decision. First of all, Olivia's head massages are out of this world. I would literally pay this woman just to wash my hair and scrub my scalp. But the HAIR. My hair looked AMAZING when I left her chair. It was shiny, glossy, soft, smelled incredible, and had so much life again. I was genuinely in love with it. She also recommended a few products based on my hair, and my hair has been LOVING them. Olivia, thank you for being such an amazing hairdresser and for making me feel so comfortable trusting you with something I'm very particular about. I'm honestly so happy to have found you and excited to have this new hairdresser/client relationship because it is so hard for me to trust anyone with my hair. My entire experience was wonderful, and everyone at Painted Mane was incredibly sweet and welcoming as well. 10/10, no notes. See you soon, Olivia!
