I have seen Kelsey twice in 1 year and she is absolutely amazing. First time I did a curly cut from her, and I love that this salon also tells you WHAT they are doing and WHY. So I was able to get the education behind the procedure, and the best way to care for my hair after! + i cut my hair up to my shoulders (remember this). Fast forward one year later, I came back to Kelsey for a silk press. Once again, got education behind the product she was using and the result was flawless. + the education and product recs she gave me from my first visit really paid off because when we straightened my hair, it was all the way down my back!!! crazy hair growth for a year. Don't let the high-ass cost turn you away. My service was $225 BUT I got a mimosa, the best shampooing of my life, great conversation, and amazing SALON QUALITY HAIR that is still perfect 2 days later. Lastly, I LOVE the team work aspect. For someone who has super thick hair, it would have been a process for her to do everything by herself. BUT instead of sitting around and relaxing between his appointments, Chris jumped in and helped blow dry + flat iron my hair! The teamwork was unmatched and I was so impressed. Make that investment. Your hair and your day will thank you.

I needed a haircut for my friend's wedding, and Glory did a phenomenal job! I told Glory that I wanted to add some texture and shape to my hair, and she did exactly that, and helped advise on what kind of layers I should get. I'm so happy with the layers she gave me, and I felt fabulous coming out of the salon. Glory was a great listener, kind, and so easy to talk to! As a first time client at the salon, she also gave me a free hair treatment. I love the overall vibe of the salon. It's incredibly clean, well designed, and well decorated, with lots of space. I also appreciate being offered a drink at check-in. I'm looking forward to booking Glory again for future haircuts!

After months of searching for a curly cut specialist, I finally booked an appointment... and today was the day! I was beyond excited to see Talin, and I loved that the shop offers a complimentary hair treatment for first-time customers--heck yeah! Talin is not only a stylist but also a curly cut instructor, so my hopes were high, and she did not disappoint. She really listened to all my concerns, walked me through her process, and even checked in at the end to make sure I was happy or wanted any adjustments. The shop itself is beautiful, has such a welcoming vibe, and plays great music. 10/10 recommend booking with Talin if you're looking for someone who truly gets curly hair! Don't believe me, just take a look for yourself.

Limón Salon has a great vibe and one of my favorite stylists I have been to. If you are looking for someone to do your cut, color, highlights or all of the above, look no further than Glory! She is SO talented at what she does, and I have been incredibly happy every time I leave her chair. Fresh cut and color with Glory is always the highlight of my month. Glory takes the time to listen to what you want to achieve with your color and gives you good, honest advice about what it will take to get there. She has done a great job when I had long or short styles. She is also quick and efficient at what she does, which is another plus for me as a busy mom who wants to treat herself to beautiful hair every few months, but only has limited time to do so. Glory is also such a sweet and kind human and pleasure to chat with while in the salon as well. Book an appointment with her ASAP!

Dani is truly an artist. He really did his thing with my hair. Absolutely transformed it. It's completely revamped, healthy, and glowing. You can tell he takes pride in his craft and pays attention to every detail. I walked out feeling confident and refreshed. Highly recommend Dani if you want someone who genuinely knows what they're doing.

Loved my experience with Sky at this salon. It's always nerve wracking trying out a new salon, but Limón exceeded my expectations. You're greeted warmly at the front (they also offer you water!). I sat with Sky who listened to my (many) desires for my hair, and she DELIVERED! Long layers, little bit of thinning, and face framing. She was precise and amazing. I will most definitely be coming back.

I made an appointment at Limon Salon and, when booking, specifically asked the receptionist who was best with layering. I was recommended Skylar. At my appointment, I showed Skylar a reference photo of a very basic haircut: curtain bangs, long layers, and light face framing. Toward the end of the appointment I was a bit rushed and didn't have time to fully examine my hair in the salon, though I immediately noticed excessive volume at the crown and that the front felt much shorter than expected. Once I got home and looked more closely, I was extremely disappointed. A large amount of hair had been cut off in the front, the layers are uneven, and the bangs are not curtain bangs at all. The crown looks very poofy while the ends are thin and over-texturized. Most of the layering, including the bangs and face framing, was done with a razor on dry hair, which resulted in a choppy and unbalanced look. The final result does not resemble the photo I showed or what I asked for. It looks uneven and poorly executed. This experience has been very upsetting for me, and I would not recommend Skylar for layered haircuts based on my experience. I did contact the salon and was rescheduled for a correction appointment with another stylist to fix this disaster, so I'm hoping they make it right. Overall, though, this was a very disappointing experience. (Can't stop crying )

I had really long hair down to my hips, I went in for a trim and some short layers since my hair…read morewas really think, I made it clear I wanted to keep as much length as possible but just get rid of some dead ends and I wanted the bottom thinned out. I also had bangs that were slightly uneven so I asked her to fix that. The lady who cut my hair asked if I wanted I blow out, I told her no, I wanted to walk out with wet hair to see how it would dry naturally since that's what I do regularly. She was apprehensive but I was firm that drying naturally was what I wanted and that I didn't want to the appointment to take longer due to drying. She cut a good 8 inches off, the left and right sides were different lengths, the layers were super choppy, random, and uneven. The ends were not thinned out how I wanted and she didn't touch my bangs. At the end she said "I know you didn't want a blow out but I'm going to do it anyway" literally. She curled the ends and when I left I noticed the ends were uneven. I don't know if she curled them thinking I wouldn't notice but it was hard to miss. I was really sad to lose that much of my length since it took me so long to grow out and I wasn't expecting to get it cut, only a trim which by the way was $90 (partly because the cut was an hour and drying was another whole hour so I had to pay for 2 hours even though I didn't want the blow out) but I went back in because it was too bad to wear in public and this was less than a week before Christmas. I went back in, I told her my hair was really choppy, she said "well you asked for layers" I told her "but this isn't layers this is random pieces of different length, there are longer pieces on top of shorter pieces. She got really defensive and said I kept "moving my head." No I didn't and even if that had been true blaming the customer is just a really bad way to run a business when I'm just asking it to get fixed. I told her I wanted my bangs fixed as well and because they were uneven, she said "you came in like that" I told her "I know but I wanted you to fix them" during this argument the manager came in and had me sit down, he told me they could fix it and had another girl start working on my layers, he said that he would take care of the bangs. The Second Lady working on my hair in my opinion was really rude, she pointed out some grey hairs and I said "I know I have more of them in other places" she said "how old are you?" I told her 25 and she made a face that seemed extremely judgmental. I also notice while she was cutting my hair, she held the scissors and comb in the same hand and while combing my hair I saw her accidentally cut pieces an inch away from my scalp and I felt the scissors tug as I saw her wave LONG pieces of hair away multiple times. She also kept commenting on how thick and tangly my hair was which felt insulting. As I was in there the second time, TWO other customers came in separately saying they were coming back because they had issues with how their hair had been done, the manager didn't respond with "ok let's fix it" even when I noticed the customer wasn't trying to argue they were willing to pay more they just wanted more done, but the manager was very defensive about explaining "this is how it's done" blah blah blah when in my opinion it would have been better to say "what you asked for is ____ this is what we did but if you want more than that would be ____ it will cost more to get you want you want but we can definitely do that if that's what you want". By the time I was done I had been in there for over 2 hours just with the second time I went. I didn't have any layers when I left they basically just cut my length to the shortest piece the first girl left me with which made my ends sprawl out since I had really thick hair and my hair was about boob length now, my bangs had more heft but I didn't like the way they framed my face, to be honest I just wanted to get out of there, I had clearly made a huge mistake going back. When you go to a hair stylist, make sure you go to a place where you know they will LISTEN to what you want, not do some random stuff or get defensive when you asked for something different. I didn't take a picture of my hair after the second appointment, the length wasn't badly cut it just wasn't what I asked for, not thinned or layered at all, and like 13 inches shorter than what I wanted, I've had it cut since then by a hair stylist who LISTENS to what you ask for.

If you send me another cold threat as you did last night as stated below I'm contacting authorities. I am a professional with a busy life I don't have time to make up extravagant lies to get out of a hair appointment for god sakes. You appear to possibly have some issues that take you out of your right mind / professionalism based on your reply and other reviews that speak to you and your staff's difficult personalities. I just had the worst most unprofessional experience at this salon. I had an appointment scheduled for today (11/24) at 10:30. I showed up at 10:20 and waited outside on the bench as the salon was closed (no one told me it was only open by appointment on Mondays). I waited until 10:30 on the bench outside after trying to open the door but the salon was dark and locked. I pulled up the salon's website on Google only to discover it was closed on Mondays. I called the salon and left a voicemail about what I assumed was an online booking error, since their Google profile in fact states they are closed on Mondays and the salon was closed and locked, and then I left after 10:30. I later got a text from Brittany the stylist asking where I was. Very confused, I explained to her what happened. She gave me an attitude and told me I needed to come back for the appointment, that she was late due to an accident on the freeway so that's why no one was here to open the salon/let me in for my appointment, and due to their cancellation policy, I had to come back down to the salon for my appointment. I told her that Google stated they were closed on Monday, the salon was dark and locked, and no one answered or called me back after I left appointment, so again, I assumed it was an online booking error and I left. She got very argumentative with me (instead of apologizing and clarifying), insisted she was stuck in traffic and that's why she wasn't here to let me in, and insisted again that I needed to come back for her or I would be charged due to their cancellation policy. She also kept arguing with me that "no I was here," at 10:30, before later changing her story and telling me she was stuck in traffic. She was not here. I sat on the bench outside, everything was dark, the door was locked, and again, no one answered the phone or called me back after leaving a voice message. I told her I wasn't engaging in such an unprofessional conversation and she raised her voice and told me I was being unprofessional, at which point I disconnected the call. I am shocked at the way I was left hanging in front of a closed salon for my scheduled appointment, then contacted LATER and told I NEEDED TO COME BACK or face cancellation fees when it was the salon and Brittany's fault that no one was there for my scheduled appointment and no one answered when I left a voicemail, leaving me to assume there was an online booking error and the salon was actually closed. How was I supposed to know/assume any of that?? I am even more shocked by Brittany's horribly rude and unprofessional argumentative demands that I better turn around and come back LATE for my appointment or I would be charged, when the entire reason I left was because SHE was late, the salon was CLOSED, no one answered the phone or returned my voicemail, and no one communicated to me that they were in fact open today but my stylist was late and on her way. I worked in the salon industry as an esthetician and makeup artist for years and never have I encountered such an unprofessional interaction. Never. Then I got this threatening text just now from Brittany/Rare Byrd.

The stylist I saw has since left this salon…read more Originally I emailed Sixteen Eighty Eight through Yelp with my formula and they confirmed they were able to do it, which was great news since I've had trouble finding someone who can follow my formula in Walnut Creek. They matched me with a stylist and I came in on a particularly cold rainy day. The first issue I noted was that they didn't use heat to process, which my formula calls for. Although I've had other salons use wet heat to treat, using no heat was unusual. Beyond that, I noted the stylist would make comments where the tone sounded friendly, but the words like, "your hair is so long, do you ever cut it," were a bit rude. By the end of the visit it was clear she didn't particularly like me, but my hair looked fine under the lighting, so I tipped well and left. What followed has literally never happened to me in the four years I've gotten full root coverage. The color leeched out of my hair - as in, within a few days, all coverage was gone. I don't know what she used, but after a week it didn't look like I'd gotten my hair done at all - my best guess is that because she didn't use heat, it didn't process correctly. I just don't know. I've sat on this review trying to decide how I feel about it, but I definitely always now confirm my formula has to be processed with heat and I've gone back to my old salon in Berkeley even though it's a bit of a drive.

I decided the light hair wasn't for me and she helped me go back to my natural dark hair. She does amazing work and is a super fun person. She is honest and makes sure I don't do anything crazy to my hair (like not cutting it too short ;) whew!). I love working with Kristen. If you have the chance to have her as your stylist consider yourself very lucky! (Sidenote: Her head massages during the shampoo are next level). I look forward to every visit. She's the best! The salon is so cozy, clean, and a lovely atmosphere. People are so kind and everything operates efficiently. Always super easy scheduling appointments and the text reminder a day or two before my appointment are so helpful too. I'm a type A person with super high standards.
