I've been going to Mary for a couple of years now and have had a few less-than-stellar hair appointments, where I either come out looking a bit like a zebra or it's just a lot shorter than I'd asked. But after this last appointment, I'll never go back and I'd recommend others not to go there either. My hair looks like it's been cut by a toddler and I have to have it cut even a shorter to fix. I'd asked for just a small dusting on the ends to clean it up, but I've needed up with a hair cut that will require years of growth to be cut off just to even it out. While she's a nice lady, there is nothing that is worth this and she shouldn't be considered a licensed professional. I will NEVER go back and highly suggest anyone else looks elsewhere as well. I saw her twice for highlights and a hair cut. 1st time she charged me $220 and when I got home I noticed she messed up the highlights were there were horizontal lines and blotches of bleached hair. I asked how much was she going to charge me then she had to go back into here Zelle to see how much I sent her last time which makes me think she just charges what she can get away with and doesn't actually have prices. Stephanie is the bomb! She is the best of the best. When I left my stylist in Arizona when I moved to Cali, I found Stephanie after someone had cut my hair so horribly. She has been my go to person. Her co worker tried calling so did I and yet a week later she hasn't responded or called me back due to her no show. For me it was over an hour drive and never bothered to communicate that she cancelled. This has been a long overdue review, I had to re-download my Yelp app to write my (first bad) review. I did contact the salon directly twice, but never heard back. I set up an appointment for a haircut, highlight, deep conditioning and style. I was looking for a new salon, closer to work. I was very excited to find a new, very cute salon. Sherris seemed nice and friendly. I showed her pictures of what I wanted and was describing what I liked, she "corrected" my terminology (I have been getting purple streaks in the middle (not ontop or underneath) of my hair for over 10years and have always described them as peak-a-boos, Sherris stated that's not what they are called). Okay that's fine, but you didn't add anything similar to my "peak-a-boos" either way. Rather than sharing my opinion of how horrible my hair came out, I attached 6 pictures to show how I wanted my hair to look, and how my hair turned out. Not only incredibly uneven, but did not look any different color wise, roots were still the same. I screenshot the pictures to include the date/time to show that they were within a few hours of my appointment. The appointment itself; I had my work phone and personal phone. In the beginning of the appointment, Sherris was eating, at her styling chair. I sat as she finished eating, So I began reading work emails. I had to respond to a few. During the appointment, I responded to a few work emails and 1 text from my little brother. Sheris asked me who was texting me when my phone would make the email sound. At one point, as she continued asking, I said "my brother just asked if I wanted to meet with him." That's it- case closed. She then began interpreting my brothers text and was rushing- I'm like "I told my brother I am busy it's not a big deal." She forgot the deep conditioning treatment. Since I was cutting off so much hair, she cut it prior to washing and was going to finish cleaning up/trimming after(?). She did not style my hair, did not even finish blow drying it- you can see the ponytail bumb in the pictures as my hair looked horrible and I immediately put it in a ponytail- yeah to the over $100 appointment. (Sarcasm) Her outgrown acrylic nails got stuck in my hair several times, the nail lady is directly next to Sherris. Each time her nails got caught in my hair, she would make a joke with the nail lady "good thing I have an appointment with you after her hair!" I paid for highlights, deep conditioning treatment, a haircut and style. As you can tell by the pictures, my haircut was horrible, I cut off about 6 inches and you can see how grossly uneven it is, like she literally missed portions of my hair. After 6 inches, I had to go elsewhere to get the cut even (so I basically paid for 2 cuts and had to find time for 2 appointments). The salon itself is so cute and has great reviews. Sherris was my worse salon experience ever. I will never go back and would never recommend the salon as a whole due to my experience with Sherris and never receiving a response from the salon directly despite trying to get through 2 times. read more

The salon is beautiful, upscale and there is so much potential here. This review is primarily based on my experience with hairstylist Zoe. She is a great stylist when she is present and communicative. Unfortunately, Zoe is incredibly flakey and today she sent an email through the appointment link denying my appointment that was scheduled and confirmed on March 31st for a hair color and blow dry. I also received an email reminder about the confirmed appointment yesterday, which blows my mind. This not the first or second time Zoe has done this. She has serious maturing to do as people make arrangements to book these appointment, weeks and even months out. Zoe has canceled on me on my sons birthday when I had scheduled a blow dry, on my birthday for a color and blow out and today when I had an event planned. I called and text her within minutes of receiving the cancellation email and no response. I am so disappointed because I really needed my hair done and she canceled four hours before. There should be some sort of cancellation fee for stylists like Zoe who do not respond, cancel last minute and don't appear to care. This message is for Mary to really consider who her salon has as stylists and how Zoe is need of a client training. To cancel with an email and not respond to a call or text is unacceptable in my opinion. There would be no way I could get away with this at my job. I will look elsewhere and it saddens me to do so as Zoe is really skilled. She just needs to be more professional, grow up and communicate with her clients. I would not recommend anyone booking with Zoe, especially not for an event. read more

I have been to this Day Spa 3 times for services with Monica. On my first visit with Monica, she was delightful, listened to what I needed, and has a very therapeutic studio with a comfy table and relaxing lighting and music. Monica provided so wax work for me very painlessly with good results. She told me if I would like to try out getting my brows tinted she would do them complimentary. My second visit was a week later, Monica was able to stay open late to accommodate my scheduled. I had an appointment to get my brows tinted, it took 45 minutes and 2 different colours, my brows looked great! Monica did not comp my brow tint but since she did accommodate me time wise and they looked great, I paid and tipped well. My 3rd visit did not go as well. I made a few comments in my review that got the attention of the owner and Monica generating some changes. I am happy to hear they made changes to thier practice and I look forward to visitng them soon. Cosi Bella Day Spa is one of the nicest salons in Martinez. read more

Trisha took my two week old, peeling, and misshapened nails and gave them new life with this matte manicure. Patient and knowledgeable, she answered all my questions about her tools and products. I can't believe I forgot to Yelp this place! (it's been a few weeks) Monica is magical. I received a gift through Groupon for the signature facial - which also included aromatherapy, warm hand mitts, and microderm scrub. Before the facial, she asked what I wanted to leaving feeling like - I said "glowing". She truly delivered. I have left facials in the past with red patches from extractions and somewhat pale skin from the deep clean. This was not the case with my facial at Cosi Bella Day Spa. I was GLOWING. I have literally never seen my skin look so beautiful. I was relaxed, clean, and I swear I looked younger! I can't wait to go back. Monica spoke just enough to explain what she was doing, but not so much that I couldn't relax. She massaged my face, shoulders/neck, hands, and arms. I cannot say enough how wonderful she was. I am dying to go back! Also, the line she uses is incredible. I have sensitive skin and didn't experience any issues with it. I live in San Lorenzo (in between of San Leandro and Hayward) and had to go all the way to Martinez to get my hair done. 40 miles. 45 minute drive and I'm telling you, it's worth the trip! I discovered the place through a coworker's recommendation. A couple of weeks ago, I decided to dye my hair burgundy with caramel highlights at a different place nearby our house (first time I would dye my hair a "wild" color). When the session ended, I ended up looking like a freaking tiger! It didn't even look burgundy at all and she insisted that it will take a couple of days before the red would show. So I waited but still nothing! I had to live a whole month looking like a zoo animal. One day my coworker and I were having a conversation about this and how great her hair changes are then she told me about Cosi Bella. I was a bit hesitant at first because when I got an estimate, it was cheaper than what was offered from another place I asked in San Jose. But my coworker told me to "just trust your hair with Fany" and so i did. I had a subtle deep red ombre done and it looks like a million dollars! She first dyed my roots to get rid of those hideous highlights to my natural color. Rinsed, then bleached lower part of my hair where the red will be vibrant. Rinsed, then the red. I love it! I love it! I don't mind driving this far every couple of months to get my hair professionally done! Thank you so much, Fany! Warning!! Do not go to this spa if you are not white. I was treated horribly by them because I am not white. They greeted every other person who came in, spoke to every other client, smiled and talked to everyone else except for me. The only difference was that I am not white. They acted as if I did not exist. Nobody spoke to me except for the one person who was doing my nails. Otherwise I guess my skin color made it so that I did not count. When I called the next day to speak to the manager about my experience nobody responded. It took over five phone calls to finally get in touch with someone and nobody ever called me back. When I spoke with the manager she acted like it wasnt that bad of a thing to do. I would not recommend this spot to anybody. In this day and age you would think that people were not that blatantly racist but you would be wrong. Note. I am sorry this is exactly what I'm talking about. I had this experience. I paid money to go into a salon to have my nails done. And I had every person in there except for the person who is doing my nails treat me like I did not exist.? Do black lives really matter? Sherris is amazing and did full highlights for me, and a haircut -- my hair was damaged and dyed from several other stylists and box dyed dark brown, I wasn't expecting much as it takes a few sessions to lift my hair color lighter but I instantly had blonde highlights in a few hours! I let her know what I wanted and she took her time to perfect everything and used extra products such as the B3 Brazilian Bonder to help lift my hair and reduce damage with did wonders. Definitely worth it. I came here on a Groupon, and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. Monica's spa is quite large with an upstairs which is where I went for my facial. The room is very calm and peaceful with soothing music and dim lighting. I had a very relaxing experience as Monica did my facial and did a wonderful job! The extractions were incredibly painful, but that is how it is no matter where you go. After the facial, she took some time to tell me about the products she used and what I should be doing for my skin.
