I am so impressed with my experience at The Mud Room! I scheduled a "better than Botox" facial with Stacy, which included dermaplaning and mask/serum treatments. From the very beginning, Stacy was so kind, professional and informative. The facial room was peaceful and cozy. The facial itself was so relaxing that even if it didn't have any benefits it would still be worth it! I almost fell asleep it was so soothing. Thankfully the facial did have benefits outside of that and my skin felt so refreshed, moisturized, clean, firm and the texture was visibly improved. The moment you walk in I suspect your stress level will begin to drop drastically, the atmosphere of the reception waiting area is very soothing and calming. There is a wide range of skin care products on display, if you need help choosing something the knowledge of anyone there is outstanding. Everyone here does most of the services offered, but I have my go to favorites. Stacey for anytype of skin care service is absolutely fantastic. She makes you feel so comfortable and her level of knowledge is nothing I've come across in this industry. Danielle's gentle approach to wax hair removal is my absolute go to. She also is the most positive person I may have ever been around, and it is contagious. It is not an act she is genuinely a person that has the ability to find the good in everything. I am always so happy & joyful when I leave her. Amy is the most skilled massage therapist I believe you will ever have. I wrote a review quite a few years ago about her and I stand by every word I wrote then. Her knowledge is absolutely mind blowing. I've been to The Mud Room a couple times since they've been open, one being more recent (12/2024) and had a great experience! My service was a massage with Amy and she was very welcoming and made me feel comfortable right away. My only reason for 4 stars is because I feel that the massage room could be better isolated and not directly behind the front desk. And I'm sure this is personal preference, but I do like more calming music when getting a massage rather than loud acoustic guitars. read more

Quick update that I've been meaning to add... the day after my facial, my skin felt a bit dry in some areas and seemed to not have liked whatever products were used. I got in contact with Stacy, the owner, and she was super responsive and helpful - she helped me figure out what could have caused my skin to react as it did. I applied the lotions and potions she suggested for healing, and it was fine soon enough. I learned that perhaps I may have a sensitivity to certain products, so I would just mention such the next time I get a facial. Today was my second visit with Amy! I am very happy i found The Mud Room! It is local, great little area and great hours. First i have to start off by saying that Amy is wonderful! She listens, asks questions and has great energy! Both my messages were excellent. The Aroma therapy oils are wonderful as well as her technique. The first message i had shoulder issues she focused on those areas. The 2nd visit was a little more relaxing as i did not have one certain area that was bothering me more. My neck and shoulders are my stress areas for sure and Amy takes all the tension away! Looking forward to my next visit! BUYER BEWARE! My 60 minute customized facial lasted all of 33 minutes at $125! I arrived on time a few minutes before 7 pm and waited outside since the door was locked. Michelle let me in just a minute or two after 7, looked me up in the computer, offered water, bathroom etc. When she left me to disrobe it was 7:15. When the facial was complete and she left the room it was 7:48! I dressed and asked about the time discrepancy and was advised that the 60 minutes includes checking in and checking out start to finish, and yet I was out the door by 7:52 and home by 8:05. Two stars are for the actual service - Michelle did a decent job albeit abbreviated - hard to give more stars for a 60 minute facial that lasted 30 minutes. read more

Brittany is amazing, she completely transformed my skin! I have always hated my pores because they were so noticeably big and dark. I've needed a facial and after telling Brittany my skin type and what I was looking for, she immediately recommended a microdermabrasion treatment followed by an LED light therapy for wrinkles. Best massage in the east bay that I've had! My mom is a massage therapist so I personally have fairly high expectations. you are greeted at the door by Amy. From there you're lead into the massage room. When you walk into the room it's simple, clean and very inviting. What's nice is Amy lets you know that you can dress down to your comfort level. You can even receive a sports massage with all your clothes on if you're not comfortable. The biggest thing about massage for me are really a handful of things: environment, communication, and application. We talked about how the place looks simple and put together. The communication is Key for a great massage. If you don't like the way something feels, or you've had a massage and prefer not to have your feet touched, or maybe you want her to focus a bit more on one area then just a general massage, this is where you want to let her know. Having someone that you feel comfortable communicating with, who actually listens to you, and if you go regularly will start to learn your pain points helps a lot. She's given me tips on how to stretch out and roll out so that I can reduce my overall soreness. I think that the communication goes hand in hand with application. She not only listens but is well versed in many forms of massage. I had a wonderful 45 minute Swedish massage with emphasis on upper back and neck. You know it was a good massage when you're actually sad when it's over. I could lay there for hours! Amy will listen to any concerns you have and offer some advice on stretching, relaxing, etc. The massage bed that Amy uses is heated (so nice) and she uses aromatherapy oils. Wow, wow, wow. I'm about to gush so hang with me. Michelle was the esthetician for my facial. From the moment I walked in the door, she was very friendly and welcoming. She was so calm and composed that I was instantly put at ease about my appointment. It's been a very long time since I've had a facial, and the last facial I had at another place wasn't all that great, so I wasn't feeling super confident at first that this was going to be worth the trip or the cost. But those doubts began melting away as soon as I met Michelle. The facial was positively amazing, I don't even know where to begin. So, the room itself was minimalistic, cozy, and inviting. The table was comfortable and the music was very soothing. Michelle's technique was fabulous. She told me what she was going to do before she did it and as I sank deeper into relaxation, she began speaking more and more quietly until she was down to a whisper. It felt like she was very tuned in to where I was at and respectful of my experience. She was wonderful. Her touch was very gentle and I could feel that she was being intentional about everything she was doing. She was deeply present in the work she was doing and that made me feel extremely valued as a client. This is a new feeling to me. I felt very posh, like I was getting some serious VIP treatment. The skin products she used were sooo nice and none of the scents were overpowering. I picked up a couple things from my facial to use at home!
