Unfortunately, the Brandon location has been a complete disappointment. I brought in an investment piece I wear as a corporate trainer. The dress and matching belt are the same fabric and color and were cleaned together to maintain a consistent, rich black. Due to the Brandon location's boiler being down for several weeks, my items were transported to another location for cleaning. When they were returned, my matching belt was missing. I went back multiple times. They were unable to locate it. There was no resolution, no replacement, and no meaningful accountability. This is unacceptable, especially when customers are trusting you with high-quality, expensive clothing. The difference between the Sarasota and Brandon locations is stark. If you value your wardrobe, I would strongly recommend avoiding the Brandon Tide Cleaners and choosing a different location or a different cleaner altogether.

When I finally picked up the clothes later and asked if any consideration could be made after I was just told none was going to be given on my $36 bill, the owner, told me in a condescending tone, "Oh no sir, let me take care of that for you but do me a favor and never come back." He said this in front of other customers. I assured him I would never step foot in this business again.     OVER $2,500 IN DAMAGES, ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY, DEEPLY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!…read more If I were permitted to give zero stars, I would do so without hesitation. I brought eight valuable garments to GEM Dry Cleaners, including two custom three-piece suits with Italian fabric and buttons, a $500 long coat, and a $200 suede jacket. Every item was damaged. Buttons were loose, seams were torn, and most upsettingly, and without my consent, they ironed sticker labels directly into the fabric of every piece, leaving permanent, burn-like marks. I was never informed this would happen, nor given the option to use pins--a safer more standard method used by most reputable dry cleaners. When I questioned it, the owner, Bryan McNatt, claimed there were signs. The only one I found was hidden behind the counter, barely visible. Others were small printouts, covered by card readers and equipment. Even Bryan admitted the signs were hard to see, which makes it even more perplexing that nothing was said to me during drop-off. I contacted no one, yet Bryan called me personally at 8 a.m. from his cell phone (which I assume he retrieved from the customer system), yelled at and berated me, and offered a mere $36.45 partial refund for the damage of thousands of dollars worth of items. I did not accept the offer because of how inappropriate it was. I spoke calmly and expressed I wanted to handle this amicably, but he was immediately defensive, dismissive, offensive, and said I must be struggling financially to care about the damage. When I said I may have to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, he told me to do whatever I needed and banned me from returning. The staff were also rude. One employee was visibly wearing a court-issued ankle monitor while working. While everyone deserves employment and second chances, I believe this anecdote unfortunately gives insight into the deeper issue -- a clear lack of professionalism, accountability, respect across the board, and oversight at this business. The garments are permanently damaged, and nothing can undo that. This was one of the most frustrating, heartbreaking experiences I have ever had with a business. I trusted them with irreplaceable items, and they treated me and my concerns with absolute disregard. Please read through the many other similar reviews. I am far from the only one who has experienced destroyed clothing and mistreatment at this establishment. I am sure they will try to twist and make up some way to rebut this, so I have decided to include some of the photographs of the damaged garments and the obscured signage with this review so that others can see the truth for themselves. I sincerely hope this helps at least one other person avoid the same loss.

I took a large amount of clothing in for cleaning and alterations. I should have known better than to entrust them with this when the gentleman at the counter did not know how to measure an inseam or what a suspender button was. Three weeks later, the items were still not completed as requested. I had to make a total of 4 trips and a series of phone calls about suspender buttons, that were never put on. When I went back for a refund for the requested but incomplete alterations, I was told I was not charged for them, even though they clearly show on the work order. Why would a business knowing what was ordered, had not been completed, allow the customer to pick up the order. Either they don't like making money, or they're lying. (At their claimed charge of $3/per button, which I never paid for past alterations, I suspect the latter is true.) The first associate told me that he was not authorized to give any refund. Only the owner will do that and it would take three days before he would call me back. Viewing that as unacceptable, I made serveral calls to their customer service number. Unfortunately, it only takes voicemails. I left a message, and never received a call back. I returned to the store and asked for a manager. The two associates working indicated that their stores do not have managers. They can only leave notes in their computer system for the owner. I was also told that the owner does not ever give a refund, only credits and I should not expect a resolution from him for at least two weeks. If this wasn't my personal experience, I would find it unbelievabe that a business this size could be run so incompetently and with such poor customer service. This business does not deserve anyones hard-earned money.

I called and was told I had to bring them back within 72 hours, well I got them cleaned for a two week trip. Which I left on the next day. So now I am out the cost of the sweaters and could not take them on the trip. Never use these cleaners. This is the first time a cleaner has ruined anything of mine and I an 70 years old!
