The other day, I went to Best Buy in Patchogue looking for a CD player. I noticed an employee standing nearby with a phone in his hand, seemingly checking something on the shelf. I approached him and said, "Excuse me, do you have CD players?" Without even looking at me, he replied, "No, we don't." I started walking away, but he must have thought I was still standing there because he continued saying, "No, we don't," even as I left. This experience left a bad impression. Their exchange policy. I received a white Fitbit charge 6 as a gift from my husband. Went back today just to exchange for black and they would not honor the price he paid. They expected me to pay an additional $60. The manager was very rude when I explained it is only a color change not a different item. She said too bad!. I called general customer service number and they basically told me that is their policy. I would NEVER recommend shopping there! I've had very good experiences at this location. The staff has been very knowledgeable. I bought my iPad here. The associate was patient with going through everything with me and answering my questions. A few weeks after that I purchased a new camera. After using it for a few weeks I found it wasn't a good camera for me. I had no problem returning and buying a Sony instead which I love. The sales associate also informed me that you can have someone meet you somewhere, like a park, with a few camera you're interested in so you can try them out. Today the same sales associate helped me look at GoPros. My experiences have all been positive. read more

The only thing they're good for is a TV, they'll price match. Had two bad experiences in a row. Guy in TV section tried to sell me a TV wall mount, he told me the only 2 that moved around were $150 and $350, when a $60 one was right around the corner. When I asked him why he didn't offer it, he claimed he didn't see it, but it's his department and he knows everything in his area. 2nd experience was with a guy Adem, tried to offer me a replacement tv for my s90C I wanted to return. The s90C is completely sold out in 55", so he recommends the Sony A75L, which although a good tv, isn't as good for gaming as the s90C and it's not Qd-oled. He proceeded to lie to me to try for the swap, claiming it had a higher refresh rate of 165hz, which isn't even an option in any TV, except the Ark. he also was arguing with me that my s90C isn't a qd-oled and that the LG G3 IS a qd-oled, when LG doesn't even sell a QD-OLED. Every fact he had was wrong. I even showed him and he refused to say he was wrong. Why work in BEST BUY if you know nothing about the products. read more

I spent over $4,000 on new appliances in March. Every item was delivered separately. They sold me the wrong microwave and I was left with no microwave for a month after the delivery guy took out the old before he realized that the one i was assured would fit did not fit. I was waiting for the ice maker and when they finally came to deliver it in June, the work order only said to drop it off. It was then discovered that the sales person ordered the wrong model for my refrigerator. I had to go down to the store to get any response from Best Buy. I was given an August date for delivery and I am now told September! when you call you get people who do not speak English clearly and the delivery people also do not speak English clearly either. So we came here one weekend to buy a soundbar and apple ear buds . The kids in the sound bar section show us this sound bar . They put it on So we can heart it and we love it . We are going to purchase it when the one kid turns to my fiancé and says the one you're getting is almost exactly like the one you heard , the one they showed us !!! But not it . The one guy was so pissed we decided not to get it he was actually yelling WHY NOT! And we told him he should've been honest and not lied. I was greeted at the door and stated that I was there to pickup a pre paid product. They directed me to customer pickup where I received the worst customer service ever. My item was sitting in the back under my name but since I did not have the order number handy it was not in existence. I had my I'd, and the card I used and the online receipt. I don't know why this location is listed twice... Let's face it, in today's day and age a lot of what Best Buy sells can be bought online, so really we only go in when we absolutely need to buy an item TODAY. Their service is okay, they aren't always as attentive to customers as they should be. They do price-matching to Amazon and Egghead though, which means you can still get a good deal locally. Best Buy is seriously the worse customer experience big box store on the planet. We purchased a dishwasher last week that was supposed to be delivered today. The unit was actually at the store so we decide to just pick it up on Sunday but we're told it would take over and hour wait. I actually offered to grab a hand truck and go get it. They said it's a systems issue and I could not pick it up. Today being our deliver date the appointment was literally cancelled, then confirm, canceled again and then confirmed once more. Kathy Kostas called to find out what is going on but no one at the store actually answers the phone. She called corporate and also tried an online chat where for an hour and a half was transferred 7 times...... 7 times!!!! One person offered a hint to go into the actual store because as he said, "they never pick up the phone." All we needed to know is where the unit is located so we can simply pick it up since they cancelled the delivery and NO ONE knows ‍. Kathy told the rep this is terrible customer experience and the phone rep had guts to say, "don't say that, at Best Buy, we take pride in customer service." Kathy literally laughed out loud. I regret ever stepping into that store. I should have know better when I saw they place a rope at the door and you can't get in unless you tell them why you're there. Nothing to really say much about this location except it takes them 10 minutes to process a single customer at checkout. It's aggravating because they have lots of employees just standing around. Maybe I'm just impatient. Everyone at the checkout counter had problems they needed worked out. It's nice to see the 2 cashiers were working diligently to take care of whatever problems their customers had but there isn't another desk for this sort of thing or maybe more cashiers? I've said this a lot on Yelp, retail services like this are one of the reasons retail locations are failing and Amazon is doing so well. I wish stores would take notice of this. read more

The absolute WORST customer service we have ever experienced. Purchased a floor model stove which they never told us was actually used. When we tried to have it delivered, the third party installer told us they couldn't install it because it was previously used and we had a propane hook up. Called Best Buy and they denied it was used. It offered to give us another unit. They delivered the unit and then told us they couldn't install it because they didn't have the correct propane hook up (which Best Buy KNEW about because it was the problem with the first unit). We have been waiting TWO WEEKS for resolution to this issue and have been buying take out food every night. Do not under any circumstance purchase appliances from this store. UPDATE: We contacted BBB and Consumer Affairs this morning on the Patchogue location as the installation crew came today (the third time) and the parts that Best Buy ordered were not the correct ones. read more

I love Best Buy as a store. With all the new technology coming out, I like to know exactly what I'm getting, some thing that when buying online can be a tricky process which leads to people getting scammed every now and then. my problem with the Best Buy in Gateway Plaza, their Patchogue location, is that they don't seem to keep in nearly as much stock as most of the other ones do. For instance, when I am on the website looking to see if they have something currently in stock, a very large percent of the time they will not and I will have to order it to the store. However, my second closest store which is only about a mile and a half further going in the other direction, almost always has 1-2 left. however, being a retail worker for many years of my earlier life, I still make sure I call before making the drive down. Stores inventories are all computerized these days and have been for a long time. So if an incompetent worker accidentally puts the wrong SKU in for a similar item (lets say 114677 is what he actually recieved and was supposed to put in ) , but makes a typo that causes it to match the SKU of the item you're looking for (say your looking for 114667 the sku he ended up putting in because of one numerical typo), the website will think it's in stock at that store meanwhile it never came in in the first place. A careless, incompetent, or just poorly trained/and or new employee made a booboo and until it gets fixed, the system will always think its in stock read more

To the female with the missing/de*d teeth in her mouth that works in the electronics department in the back by the laptops, WOW what a disgusting human being!!!! I would be miserable too if I only had one tooth left in my mouth and my breath smelt like cow manure. No wonder she must hate speaking to customers. Let me start by noting that I wanted to make sure my father got on the list to be called upon (as he was interested in a laptop) and I wasn't sure if he had a number in line, I simply went up to the desk to confirm his number so I knew how long I had to come back to the electronics section to help him when it was his turn, mind you I spoke very respectful to this woman AND waited patiently for my turn in line to speak to her at the desk, she turns to me- carried herself in such a nasty and rude way while rolling her eyes and literally saying "UGH" in my face over a simple question- straight up ignores me. BUT had no problem answering and helping the caucasian people in front of me. Extremely racist behavior. I went to speak to a manager who was a POC working by the phone area and the managers sorry excuse was oh maybe it's been a super busy and exhausting day. Excuse me? You do not ever take that out on a customer, especially someone seeking help. Trust me, if I could give this place one star, I WOULD!!!! No wonder they have so many horrible reviews on customer service. Best Buy needs to either change their employees or keep them in check. One day these workers are going to speak to the WRONG one. I place an order in store for a refrigerator and stove on Oct. 16th. Delivery was set for Nov. 11th. I received email that not available for delivery and had to reschedule for Nov 25th. On Nov. 24th I received i call that they were unable to deliver again. I called and canceled my order On Nov. 24th. Today Nov. 29th I reached out to find out status of my refund. Agent informed my cancellation never went through. I now have to wait 15-30 days for my refund. Do not care for this best buy at all the workers are the issue!! The workers here have no customer service SKILLS whatsoever. When you want to purchase a product no one comes over to greet you or ask if you need any help, you basically have to track them down. My bf and I have been to other best buys on the island that have much friendlier and down to earth staff. Many of them here are also lazy and can be rude. Once I came in to ask about a black Friday sale and the guy here told me that the sale wouldn't happen and that the paper I had was wrong. I drove right over to the Bay Shore Best Buy and that guy was willing to help me and told me that exact sale would be available the next week for Black Friday. I went to Best Buy in Patchogue in tears on 2/24/20. My phone was dying. I had lost my phone during Superstorm Sandy, and Verizon failed to salvage the data. Living in a Red Cross shelter without a phone and contacts! I thought here we go again. The first sales rep abruptly told me I had to pay $450.00 to pay off my contract and go the Verizon store next door. She kindly handed me a box of Kleenex as the tears flowed. I asked for Another associate. The manager Mitch promptly appeared, and not a Samsung guy, he troubleshot my phone , and simple as that I was up and running. God bless you Mitch. After doing extensive research on a LCD TV, we went into Best Buy knowing the model we wanted. We also needed to have it installed on the wall to replace an older set that was there. Well, the sales help was excellent. Jon, spoke with us at length and we explained the situation. He made some phone calls, found out what we needed, called the installation company and spoke with them too. That afternoon, the TV was hooked up and placed on the new wall bracket. I find that most Best Buy Stores are more or less the same as long as you get a good salesman. I have been in and out of most of the ones in the area at one time or another. i went in to purchase a tv , had in the past only gotten sony but from recommendations from friends and after seeing my sons TV i decided to go with Samsung. The salesman was more than happy to show me all the tvs and explain the differences, He was also partial to Samsung which made my choices even easier. I ended up getting a 3d samsung 55" led TV. The picture is totally amazing, i would only buy a Samsung from here on out. I used to shop mostly at PC Richards, But I have found that Best Buys prices are about the same and the big difference is the extended warranty if you choose to get it , it is half the price. Would highly recommend Best buy as your #1 shopping source for tvs. read more

The website is easy to use and online shopping was a cinch. The prices are competitive and inventory is vast. My heavily used PC system is very important to our household: it's our important document file, banking center, photo archive, entertainment center, news resource, family communication channel. So when it died it was a blow. The staff at Patchogue's Best Buy -- including their amazing Geeks -- has helped me create a new system fast and with very little stress.
