Went here today with my 1 month old and 1 1/2 year old at 9am because I needed diapers. For some reason they don't sell size 1 online otherwise I'd just get them shipped. They wouldn't let me in cause I'm not an exclusive member... I was told I had to wait an hour or pay to become an exclusive member...The manager obviously doesn't have kids herself. These people are absolutely heartless all I needed was diapers. I had my 2 babies with me and was desperate and it was the easiest time for me to get there. My family has been shopping at Costco since it was originally The Price Club. In my opinion, Costco is truly the best. While this commentary pertains to a Costco in Holbrook, NY, my comments all address Costco as a company. I have visited another warehouse business but was disappointed. Costco continues to surpass anyone else. 1. Costco offers everything you could look for from food, to electronics, plants (in season), jewelry, automotive items, paper products, special shows of private vendors - offering cutlery, fish, furniture, but to name only a few. 2. Lighting within the warehouse is so much brighter. 3. Product placement isn't crowded with space between items. 4. The warehouse is immaculate and clean. 5. Staff are available and well informed of their products, availability and eager to assist shoppers. 6. The prices are usually always lower than other retail establishments. 7. What also separates Costco is their most generous return police limited to 90 days for computers and flatscreen televisions.there is such a diversity of flatscreens and brands you're bound to find something. 8. What especially was wonderful was the willingness to assist customers. Being disabled, I have trouble walking throughout the warehouse. I've occasionally asked a "front end" manager if someone could help me shop. A store associate assisted me taking my shopping list and gathering the items throughout Costco paying attention to packing the order. 9. The food court has a wonderful menu such as pizza all fresh, enjoyable at low prices. 10. The Kirkland Brand is exceptional. Never a disappointment. 11. Costco stands behind all their services. Came with my friend as we were at her house for Memorial Day and we needed last minute stuff. We went early so it wasn't TERRIBLE. But this is a typical Costco and we come to buy in bulk. We self-checked out and the people helping out there were really nice. All in all not a bad experience on a holiday weekend where things were kept relatively organized. read more

Love this store and don't understand the negative reviews. Their prices are consistently cheaper than elsewhere (including other warehouses). The quality of their meats, fish and produce is superior. While it can get crowded, the checkout lines are staffed with multiple people and you never wait more than a few minutes. Staff are treated well and treat customers well. Everyone at the front is busy with a customer so we make our way passed them. One of the ladies who was double teaming a customer with her work Bestie grabs us and says "you have to check out! I was helping with-" I don't care lady just check the receipt. Excuses only sound believable to the people making them. She marks the receipt gives it to my bf and then continues to rescan the cart. I pause and look at her. She's still counting. She says "why are you looking at me like that" so I just walk away bc we already have the receipt. This lady has the audacity to continue to try and provoke me while I'm leaving "WHY ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT?" Clearly loud enough for me to still hear her. So I turn around and I yell "KEEP COUNTING." & walk out. What in the world did that lady think she was going to do? She's neglectful of her position & dying to get back to her little convo with her boyfriend at the door. She's all huffed and puffed because I LOOKED at her while she was still counting. Maron. I get it. I'm young and tattoo'd. I MUST be stealing & ready for a fight. This fake LI Mob wife needs to hold off on the Costco cakes if she really thinks she's going to "do something". What can you say about One Costco that hasn't already been said, they are all about the same but this one was set up different because of the corona virus. They actually wipe down your cart before you start to use it which is great with this covid-19 virus going around. I love this location of Costco, it is so easy and neat to find items you need. The aisles are always free of clutter, parking in front of the store. They have the tire center on property and liquor store right next to the entrance. There is also the gas station on your way out or into the parking lot. All these things makes shopping a little easier. Most things are usually always fully stocked. So many promotional things to buy. The lines go pretty fast, they also have a self checkout which makes it easier to check out if you dont have alot to buy. read more

If you're a POC don't come to this Costco. There's a worker here named Christine who held up a Hispanic family because her and her coworker couldn't find the salmon on their receipt (guess what? It was there) Christine gave up looking for it and had her coworker keep searching for it by then there was a crowd behind us. My boyfriend and I were right behind this family and she completely dismissed us and marked everyone's receipt without checking their carts until she got to us. Once we finally got her attention so we can leave she thoroughly checked our cart before letting us go. This rubbed me the wrong way after she let 5 other people go without checking their carts. This isn't the first time this has happened to me at this location which is why I don't normally come here but because it was in the area we gave it a shot. Clean, organized and efficient; I love this Costco location! Ever since learning about the deal for teachers to get a credit for your membership I've been hooked! The parking lot always seems crowded yet I continue to find a decent spot so don't fret. I've used customer service for refunds and just any questions I may have being a fairly new member. They are always so kind and knowledgeable. I also have to give a shoutout to the speciality dessert corner right behind the produce section. I was highly impressed by how organized and clean this store was. The aisles were adequately stocked and had incredible electronic deals for the holidays. The bakery is fantastic! Especially in the morning when bread and cakes are being baked. We just left the Costco located in Holbrook, NY. When we unpacked our groceries we realized that the Realgood Stuffed Chicken package had been tampered with. It was opened and one of the servings was removed and the package was resealed. This is a new low that we have to now inspect packages from Costco? Major bummer. You know... I like this Costco in Holbrook. I like that I can go next door and pick up some booze. They carry my Riesling, they have Jäger, they have Patron, they have Belvedere and Goose. A good friend of mine used to work here back in the day when we were younger. Don't lie you've all had a friend or two that worked at Costco. Costco is dope though for a multitude of reasons. One... bulk everything. This means bulk gum (yeah I'm a gumaholic get over it!) or bulk paper towel or for you fellas... Bulk synthetic oil! Another sweet thing about Costco is the insane return policy. Swear on my life I've seen people come back with old TVs (no not tube but the beginning of the non tube) and walk out with a brand new flat panel. Where in the world are you gonna get away with using a TV for say 7 years & return it? Only at Costco folks... only at Costco. Plus a lot of vultures like to do the free sample thing. I partake once in awhile. Like today I had some Gorgonzola cheese. As the demo lady asked me how is it? I replied "nice and stinky just the way I like it!" She laughed and I went on my merry little way. Oh and Costco Shearling Boots. Yeah they aren't Uggs (I've got 3 pairs of Uggs but I refuse to ruin them!) but they are damn comfy. I wear them to and from work when it's lousy & snowy out so I don't ruin my heels. Careful you may slip though. Been there done that in the past. Hahahah. Costco Vision Center! They were rude and unreasonable. Had two appointments for eye tests with them at 4.00 and 4.30 pm for both my daughters. Got 15 mins late because of traffic and reasons beyond my control. They refused to take one of them. It was not an issue until to our surprise another person showed up at 4.30 and they took her in along with one of my daughters. Very frustrating to find such a behavior within a professional organization like Costco. Costco owns the responsibility and must ensure they are respectful and reasonable since this is located within their premises. read more

For the third time in 2021 I left Costco in Holbrook NY feeling completely disappointed and dissatisfied. Somewhere along the way it has become acceptable for Costco Employees to become outright rude and nasty. On my second unacceptable visit I actually called Corporate office, I did get a return phone call from the Holbrook Store, but after a long conversation they (she) would admit nothing but asked what she could give me to make me happy !?! They could use to expand their stock it seems that they always have the same old stuff. This is my go to Costco. It's hard to say if I like this Costco more than the Commack Costco or other Costcos I've been. They are all consistently clean and organized in the same way. And for the most part, sell the same things. I know that other Costcos sell other thing regionally but for the most part, they're pretty much the same. So I'm rating my Costco on the service and food. The staff here seems to be reasonably happy and friendly. They are all very helpful. The food is the best value with the famous giant hot dog and soda, still $1.50 which is insane. I'm a fan of the Very Berry Sundae which is pictured here. I was thrilled that are now selling açaí but it's not as good as my local açaí bowl place. Oh well. Costco can't get everything perfect. I would love a healthier alternative but this açaí bowl is missing two key ingredients: coconut and a drizzle of honey. That would massively improve flavor and is much more representative of an East Coast açaí bowl. Nevertheless I am a huge fan of Costco and this one. The folks in Optical and The Photo Center are great too. You really can't go wrong with Costco. Definitely my favorite of the Big Box warehouses. I have membership to BJs too. This Costco is overall great! I come here once a month for groceries, about $160-$210 worth of groceries which can last me up to 6 weeks! The prices are great for the food and for some of furnishings, but I'll be getting my paper towels elsewhere. What I've been noticing here in the past three months is all of the vegan food they are carrying! While I'm an ex-vegan, I'm glad to see Costco carrying vegan food in bulk because usually vegans need to rely on local health food stores that are too expensive! So this a relief! Another thing I like is the variety of gluten free and organic foods to choose from! I have a medical condition which prevents me from being able to consume gluten and corn without getting sick. So seeing all of the gluten free options (the Sabatsso's pizza being my favourite!) is a huge plus! Also the staff are helpful, and this place is very clean. The only reason why Costco doesn't get a 5 star rating from me is because they won't accept my food stamp card. Note that I'm not a member, and I come here with my friend who has a membership card. I can kind of understand why they shouldn't accept a non-members food stamps, but if they are willing to accept a non-members money than why not their food stamps? So I am a Brooklyn girl to the heart but yes I did move out to the 'burbs after I got married...ahhh what we do for Love....anyway I digress...But yes one of the main reasons I love my town is because of this Costco. It is freaking fantastic! You can find great deals on everything from bakery items, office supplies, meat, poultry, seafood, canned items, to yes..TP (toilet paper) and paper towels. You really don't realize how much you're saving when you don't have to buy things individually. I won't lie - a con is that before you know it, you're spending AT LEAST $200 when all you thought you bought were a few items here and there. But you have to keep this in mind. My husband and I pretty much calculate that (on average) each item (food only...were not on the TVs yet!) is $10- that's our pre-checkout math. Yeah a big box of assorted pastas may be $7 and a huge pack of 15 rolls of paper towels might be $14 - so roughly it averages to about $10 an item. A little more- a little less. Either way, it's a great deal. Now let's move on the electronics. TVs anyone? Costco has exceptional deals on TVs, cameras, printers, computers, anything and everything. It's a fact in our family-the first place we go visit is the TV section where I undoubtedly have to dissuade my husband, father or mother-in-law from buying a new TV, stereo or some kind of electronic gadget. Some people love books (ahem *me*) and some people love them some gadgets. This is a great place to buy both. I will say though that Costco is the PLACE TO BE on Black Friday as well. They actually open at a decent hour too - 9 am vs the typical 3-5am hoopla. Their deals are insane. I would recommend this place for all your big Holiday Shopping items. Ok now I'm a foodie - so can we say Samples?! - The BEST time to go to Costco is on the weekends. Here you will undoubtedly wait on a mini line to try a quiche or a new type of juice or to sample a devine sausage frittata etc and will be in heaven. You can't beat the samples. You will a) either buy the sampled item to enjoy @ home, b) just eat the sample because your hungry (also a good reason) or c) make a note to self to NEVER buy said item. Either way it is a free service so why not take advantage?! Through my husband's business we have the Costco Business membership (they use this for printer paper, office supplies, ink cartridges etc.) It costs about $55 each year + 1 free household card. (They pay $165 each year: $55 + one free household card + 2 additional add-on memberships @ $55.) It's also great because at the end of the year this membership also gives you back 2% of everything you spent that year so each year the membership kind of pays for itself. Lastly there is a liquor store attached. Now it's not a Costco store per-se, it's called Holbrook Liquors (separate review to be added shortly), because I don't think legally this Costco can sell liquor, but you pretty much "know" its affiliated. People even bring their Costco shopping carts in there! The deals in there are insane. What would normally be the price for a 10oz bottle at a mom and pops store is the price for a 20oz bottle here. All the booze is in size "J" here - as in Jumbo. Overall I would highly recommend this Costco. Yes the lines may be long but they go quick and yes they don't "bag" your items but seriously.. who cares? Take one of the million boxes they offer for free to store your stuff and throw everything in your trunk to your garage/fridge at home. It really is worth it. read more

This Costco had gotten better over the two years that I've been going here. It doesn't quite carry the selection that's available at other locations that serve a bigger population. But if you're looking for a popular item, chances are that they'd still carry it even if the other ones have sold out. The selection here has gotten better. Arriving into the parking lot today my husband noticed he forgot his wallet at home so I called the store and they said it was fine that he could get a temporary card for today's store visit. Since this had never happened before we went to where merchandise was being returned and I asked the young girl where to go and she pointed "over there". I looked and the amount of people on a Sunday that are there is crazy! I looked at her like she said two heads because I had no idea where to go. Then she said "stand on the line where all those people are" so my husband, my two year old, and myself (39 weeks pregnant) stood in line where everyone was getting their receipts checked because that's where it looked like she was pointing to. As we approached the older women with black short hair (up to her neck) who was also wearing glasses and has bangs, who saw we were clearly next to go to her completely ignored us. I started to talk to her and she was still ignoring us until I started waving at her. I asked her if this is where we went to get a temporary Costco card. She said "no you have to go member services" and I told her the young lady told us to stand here I'm not sure where member services is.. she said "it's right THERE. That's the member services line. I'm not a line. Do I look like a line to you?" And she rolled her eyes at us. I was so shocked at how she spoke to us as if we were stupid. We LOVE Costco we have never had a bad experience with an employee there until today. I told her thank you and went to go stand at the correct line. As we were waiting on line, she was talking to the gentlemen next to her (also checking the receipts) about how she has to keep doing things that "are not her job" and complaining about working there. Being a customer you do not want to hear that and it's something that should be kept private not for the whole world to hear about how much you hate your job. The Costco at this location is amazing but that one employee really put a bad taste in my mouth. I don't think somebody with that attitude who doesn't want to help out a customer should be working there. When we left and had to have our receipt checked I tried so hard to avoid going to her but of course we got her. She didn't even check our cart she just put a line on the receipt and let us leave. What if we had stolen something? Are these the type of people you want working for your company? read more
