Excellent Pharmacy. Fills prescriptions quickly and takes the time to answer any questions you might have about prescriptions. Staff is personable and helpful. Hours are very accommodating. At holiday time they have a large variety of gifts you can purchase. No long lines as they have 2 registers always going. Easy parking with parking in front, side or back of store. Have been going to Spages for over 25 years now and I would not trade them for one of the large pharmacies/general stores where you get no help and noone can answer a question. Wonderful family owned pharmacy in St. James They carry a large variety of items for reasonable prices, and if they don't have what you need, they can order it!! The pharmacist was just so helpful in making sure I got the special order medication I needed after I received an urgent recall notice from CVS for the last batch I had my rx filled, will be sticking to speciality pharmacies from now on!! I am beside myself I'm a 49 year old mother of 3 children my 10 year old is multiply disabled so she takes medications for her adhd, being I am a home care nurse who resides in st James but my daughters address is with her father in lake grove Spages left me a nasty message for my 10 year old saying to call her dr to find a new pharmacy. They have not had her medication in for quite sometime (not true) I fill it each month there for over 7 months .......than the pharmacist said there in house policy is not to fill for people that do not reside in st. james, I called to ask if I can have it filled being I live there she said no unfortunately no. I spoke with my daughters drs office manager she herself said the nastiness was really spewing out of this pharmacist they will never send another script to Spage's no matter if it's the last pharmacy standing. This is the second issue I had with them being super nasty as well. Being I myself live there I have migraine meds I went to get them and just said my maiden name but because I didn't say my name on my insurance card they bugged out on me even called my dr. Just because people abused the pharmaceutical companies dosent give rights to pick and choose who they want coming to them. Never again will I go there. read more

Spages Of St. james , New york. This Pharmacy, is easily the BEST Pharmacy I've been to. Spages Pricing, Timing, customer service, requests, preordering, and even their store selection is the best! They take medicaid and Alot of the different providers/ Insurance. Thats the #1 reason Ive had to switch pharmacys in the past... And ive been to every other pharmacy on the island, and off. I've never had any issues regarding my insurance with Spages. I only pay $1 for each prescription, regardless of insurance provider. So amazing because literally any time i changed my insurance, or even had issues with coverage, I was Always covered. They took every provider i had, even when i didnt, and only had Straight Medicaid. No issues at all. Not even Once. Providers : Emblem/HIP/fedilis/United Health are just a few that i had. And some of them were not good, but the issues were always with someone else, not Spages. ..this blew my mind. and I cant go on about it enough. With Obamacare gone, we need all the help we can get. And Spages is here to help. They are family owned/ran, and yet beat out MAJOR pharamcy chains like cvs, walgreens, duane reade, with their selection on medications and brands, constantly in stock and if they happen to run out, they already have it in stock by the next business day! This is easily the best pharmacy/store for all my needs, they have a holiday items for every season, and sales! always sales! they always have my chapstick, and the best types of old and new school candy you just cant find anywhere else. Everything is always in stock, and every time i go in there is always 1 or more people front facing and restocking the shelves. Always clean, tidy, presentable. And FESTIVE! Love their decorations. You can tell Spages, Really cares about their community and the people in it. They make me miss living in St. James. I used to run in there for something every day..Now i only get to go maybe once a week. But when i do get to visit them, they never disappoint, and i always leave with a smile. There are true professionals, and always do everything they can to accommodate my needs and requests. They address all my concerns and questions, they are very knowledgeable and diligent in there work! They do their best to help you, they go above and beyond. Where most places and people would just tell you theres nothing they can do, Spages wont. They went out of they're way to accommodate me and made sure i got exactly what i needed, through no gain of their own. *My personal experience, I was in there yesterday night, and keep in mind its less than a week before xmas. It was so busy everywhere due to the holidays, the traffic was terrible, So i completely forgot to call them and request a certain brand for my refill, I didnt realize until after i had left, and i was so angry at myself for not checking but i thought it was try and ask, it was worth a try, and I didnt even have to explain WHY i needed that specific one, The pharmacist was really cool about it, he just checked to see if it was in stock and it was, and he said come swap it out. Just like that No Questions asked. And this type of medication is Really expensive and they didnt even need me to stay and count it out, they had the new script ready in the 5 minutes it took me to get there (they were busy too!) The pharmacist was still on the phone AND working on orders when i get there, pretty much the whole time i was there he was busy busy, and yet didnt have me waiting at all. Even tho I Screwed up, he still put my order first so i wouldnt have to wait even though they were doing Me a FAVOR. I already loved you guys prior to this happening, and now I couldnt Not tell someone. So If your reading this and your debating on which pharmacy to make as your primary... GARENTEED: you will love Spages... or i will personally give you a cookie...a golden cookie. made of gold. I live in Central Islip..i will literally drive to my doctors then home, then 30 minutes to them, and they are STILL my primary/ only pharmacy listed for my doctors. because I absolutely refuse to go anywhere else. bought a tube of face creme prescribed by my dermatologist. this was a 45 gram tube. the price at spages was $400.00. checked other places and price was even more. one place had a price of $900.00. i later found out that walmart sold the same thing for $200.00 using goodrx. this is a generic version of a popular drug. been using spages for decades.
