Random fact: this used to be a Waldbaums. Overall this is a very nice King Kullen, one with a pharmacy too! (Or Chemist, if you're from Europe or are an Aussie.) Nice to still see this in 2026. This location is kept clean, most of the staff are nice, and I'm happy to report that I've been noticing a lot more Organic/Non-GMO stuff available to buy, ditto for Gluten free mixed in with the oldie-but-goodie items, which tend to cater to their majority Gen X and Baby Boomer aged customers. There's a bus stop for SCT routes 6, 51, and 53 at the Waverly Ave entrance, which is convenient. Plus it says open until 22:00 (10 pm). Only complaints are: Items/foodschtuffs are costly (aka typical King Kullen prices), Restrooms tend to be dirty (had to duck into the ladies room once, was a bit cleaner than the mens), The location is in an odd area. Waverly Ave south of Sunrise is a rough-ish part of town, but north of Sunrise tends to be nicer. Keep this in mind if you walk, bike, or take the bus. With all this being said, I'm happy for the Cullen Family and to see King Kullen continue to be a landmark business unique to Long Island, still making LIers proud! read more

Excellent bakery section. The cheesecakes in particular are fantastic. Love their assortment of school/allergen free items as well. Bakery staff was so friendly. The whole experience reminded me of going years ago when I was a child and got to pick a little sweet at the counter. Worth the extra couple of minutes to go to. read more

The cleanest and most well stocked market on all of Long Island. I don't say this lightly. I have been to most markets (business) all over LI and by far this one is immaculate compared to all the others. The deli is friendly and well stocked. They have a huge variety of groceries and provisions. There is never a long line to check out. I definitely recommend this particular King Kullen. read more

Bottom Line: Who bothers to review grocery stores? I don't. Come on. Stop. I don't need anyone to tell me "they have Milk and a lot of Cheese. They have Chicken too! Oh, and you'll be able to get some Canned Vegetables". THIS King Kullen impressed me enough to write a quick review. Why? Because: It's HUGE! It's Clean! It's Bright and the aisles are wide open! It's Organized! It's well stocked. The Employees are Super Friendly and Courteous! Kudos to this Store Manager and all the employees who keep it looking that way and operating so smoothly! I come to LI every few months and stay for 1-2 weeks. I do a lot of shopping while I'm here and I really Don't like most LI grocery stores. I'm from the land of Publix - "Where Shopping is a Pleasure". I have to say - other than going out to The Hamptons or to NYC specialty stores, most of my local LI stores are a chore to shop. We were on our way to the town of Patchogue and found the grocery store on the way. The store is in very good condition with helpful employees. We were there to purchase a couple of fast items and we actually got help to find our items from customers of the store. I must say very friendly people in this town at least from our first experience. read more

For me, a supermarket has to be three things. Produce, meat and deli. The produce is always fresh and good quality. Can't say that about SR or S&S. I won't buy meat anyplace else; they have butchers (it's not pre-packaged, like SR or S&S). The deli has always been the best... salads and Boars Head sales are really good. And the variety is quite good. This is the place to shop. Play the sales and it's even better. read more

way overpriced. If you go to Shoprite off 112 prices much better and better yearly deals. I cant see a big chain like this staying around much longer. The median income for patchogue cannot support the prices in this place. Go to shoprite or Aldi even Costco. This place has already been on the way to shutting stores across LI. read more

I love this King Kullen and wonder what will happen with the take over. I find the prices to be a bit more then other stores but the staff is much nicer. They have a nice bakery section. I'm gluten free so I can't eat anything but I order cakes for parties all the time. My friends love them. The woman who work in the bakery are super sweet! read more

I have had to throw away so many things I bought there. Vegetables are usually wilted or rotten.

Was out to get cold cute for my kids. Once more pickier than the next. I just so happen to get lucky and get a grate employee in the boars head deli section.
