So... the latest update to our refrigerator saga. PC richards, made good on an extended warranty, replaced my LG refrigerator, and I chose a GE! They actually stepped up with their customer service, the new refrigerator was delivered today, we had to purchase a 5-year extended warranty which I have no problem with. At least they stood by their products and we are happy finally. A Salesman in the Patchogue store, by the name of Anthony, who had absolutely nothing to do with any of this because this was all the service department related issue, reached out to a couple of people and helped make this transaction seamless. He was very helpful and didn't even have to help us with this situation but he went out of his way and did. Thank you to him. read more

Our central air conditioning went out and I went into get a portable air conditioner so my wife and I could survive the weekend. The manager and sales people told me that I need to get the most expensive model, $800, because the less expensive ones will only cool "a tiny little room", and they said air conditioners are not returnable" as long as there are blowing cold air". So if I get a less expensive unit it won't cool our bedroom and I will be stuck with it, unable to exchange or return it. My wife told me to go out to Walmart where they had a 30 day exchange and return policy on everything, I bought a nice unit for $311 which is working perfectly fine. When we get our central air repaired i'll keep it just for emergencies. I later find out that PC Richards does have a return policy, so the sales people and manager were just lying to me to try to get me to buy the most expensive unit, saying if I get the smaller one it won't cool my room and I won't be able to return it. Thank goodness for the honest folks at Walmart who don't work on commission. read more

Description of complaint:I purchased a washing machin Value e in June this year. I live on Fire Island. They know that you have to have the appliance shipped by boat freight to Fire Island since there are no roads there. They delivered the appliance to the freight boat. It was delivered to my house and installed. Shipping and installation paid by me. The washing machine immediately had problems and stopped working. I was expecting a repair or refund. They sent 3 different repair people. All three cancelled the appointment the day of the appointment stating "We don't service your area." After 2 months without a working washing machine, I purchased and had one installed by Costco. I asked customer service to refund me for their machine. They refused unless I returned the appliance to Sayville by freight boat which would cost $300 all that I would have to pay, including the$500 for delivery and installation, which is all more than the cost of the machine. To make matters worse, as last resort I challenged it on my credit card for delivering a broken appliance not finding a repairman and not refunding me or paying for the expense of picking it up. They now are challenging the chargeback, though they have done nothing to fix this situation. They have been very clear that I just have to eat the money and pay for the broken washing machine. read more

This particular location is nice because if your on Sunrise hwy going out east, you can swing by for all your electronic needs. This store used to have a death turn to enter the parking lot but somehow they magically changed the entire store for easier access. (Nice job son of PC. Nice..) Anyhoo, I swing in and I needed a new iPhone wire. Not that knock off wire that you get at crummy gas stations but a true blue, iPhone wire made in the republic of China. After still nothing, called store again and was told that i need to call customer service. After 20 mins on hold then hung up on but they called me back, they had no record of my service ticket at all and never should have gone through the store. The day before Thanksgiving (Wednesday) my 20 yr old refrigerator just died. I called P.C. Richard in Patchogue and salesman/manager Steve Narjanian was so efficient and helpful. He looked up to see if my current appliances were purchased there (which they were by previous owners) and immediately pulled up measurements etc., helped me obtain financing and arranged for early morning delivery on Black Friday. I got confirmation calls, texts and the drivers called 20 mins before. Bright and early Friday morning they pulled up and kindly and efficient installed my new refrigerator and removed the old one. 2 hours later the surface of my new fridge was extremely hot to the touch! I called the store on busy Black Friday and spoke to salesman/manager David Harrison. Dave was on it immediately, listening, researching and deciding the best course of action (service call? Exchange?). There was so much going on on both our ends, so we did a few "I'll call you right back's" and before I knew it, a secretary answering my call advised me that Dave had arranged for a return and delivery of a new refrigerator. Shortly thereafter when speaking directly to Dave, I asked when it would be delivered and he said the next day. I explained that I could not miss another day of work over this refrigerator and needed it to be delivered today (this was at 1 in the afternoon). By 4pm I got a phone call from the drivers that they were pulling up and they quickly and efficiently removed the first refrigerator and replaced it with the second one, which works perfectly. I was REALLY impressed and appreciative that Dave was able to get that problem fixed for me and a replacement delivery done in a matter of hours! Just left this location at 12:35PM without purchasing a tv due to the rudeness of two old men! When we entered the store there were two old men standing at the register and neither one of them bothered to ask us what we wanted so I asked the shorter bald one if he could help me with my TV shopping. I explained to him what I wanted , a small smart TV at around $100. At which point the taller of the two men actually snickered and laughed at my request. Considering that the store was empty and we were the only customers in there I think it was very foolish to be so rude and condescending to us! Obviously our request wasn't that far-fetched because I was able to go to Best Buy across the street and purchase a 32 inch smart TV for $99! Don't know where to begin,,,We have purchased a Thermodor refrigerator from PC Richard's in Patchogue Long Island, Our sales personnel Craig was knowledgeable and helpful, guided us through the process in purchasing this over the top refrigerator along with getting an extended warranty since it happened to be a floor model. With that being said anyone that knows about these units know that they do cost a pretty penny even for a Floor model,,,Upon delivery and installation it was noticed 24 hours later that a leak from the unit was present causing damages to our hardwood floors. We immediately reached out to PC. Richard's and expressed our findings. we are two months in,,,and 11 technicians from Thermador and PC. Richard's combined have come to our Home ONLY to point fingers at each other. Neither company wants to take responsibility, and in the interim we are made to not only loose time from work,, but stop all work from continuing in our kitchen. I enjoy this P.C Richards. We came in to claim a credit on a Dryer we previously bought that was unable to be fixed. The credit was for $700.00. The store Manager directed us to Tom. We really liked a model that was $125.00 more than our available credit. Tom spoke to the Manager and they reduced the price to match the price of the old dryer. This was a pleasant surprise simply because we didn't even ask for a discount. We then went on to buy a 70" T.V and a sound bar. It went smoothly. I like how well put together the store is and how professional the Sales people are. Everyone was polite , professional and flexible. As soon as we walked in, we got service. Since we were actually in need of assistance & typically go to a PC Richard seeking some help from staff, this was very much appreciated. This was definitely a far cry from going to the locations in NYC where no one ever asks if you need help and you're left to figure out for yourself if the store has what you want. Our salesperson, Daniel was friendly, helpful and quite competent. He made the shopping experience pleasant & definitely went farther for us as customers than most sales people we've encountered while not pushing hard sales on us or acting like our worth was based on how much we spent. The police had to be called. 5 neighbors were outside yelling at them to move the truck which they continually refused to move and we're verbally abusive. Unlike some of the larger chains, sales team actually know the products and take their time explaining options and never try to up sell when its not necessary. I bought brand new grill and the manager Joe Q meticulously went through every option available on a variety of grills until we found the perfect grill for my needs. I also like how They have "open box" inventory available as I am always looking for the best value . Absolutely not. Came in here Saturday, July 1st to purchase a new fridge. We found the one we wanted and the salesman Tim helped us. He did the sale and it was the last fridge available. Tim was the only good guy in this story. Delivery set to Monday, July 3rd. Two guys come inside, but don't take the fridge off the truck. Measure our spaces into our kitchen and tell us that the fridge is not going to fit. They leave. I go online and see the measurements of the fridge without doors (29.5"). Narrowest entrance is 32" up three steps. We go to P.C. Richard & Son's Patchogue location to tell a manager that we need them to return because it will fit. Manager Alex was prompt in his phone calls and looks at the pictures we took of our kitchen. He asks us which days are good for us. Obviously the next day is July Fourth so that isn't happening. We schedule a second delivery for Wednesday, July 5th. My boyfriend has to ask if there is any discount we can get for the trouble. $95. Fine. My mother missed a day of work Monday and our food was going to spoil for the holiday because our old fridge was being extremely finicky in working. Wednesday comes around. I stay home from work. Three guys come, this time they take the fridge off the truck and analyze it. Then one of the guys comes in and measures. He says we are right and it'll fit. He goes outside to begin with the other guys to bring it in. Comes back in and says it's a no-go. The freezer door is completely damaged. Not the guys fault, it was entirely packaged. They tell me not to accept the fridge because he believes that it's going to effect the freezer door function. We paid 1400 and I agree. I'm not accepting damaged goods. I call the manager, the same manager Alex that we spoke too on July 3rd. He tells me I should've accepted the fridge and he could've found us another freezer door. However, right before that he tells me we have a problem because this fridge we ordered is completely out in all colors in all P.C. Richard & Son locations. I don't know how that freezer door would've been found, at least not for awhile. He tells me to come back in and look at other models. We come in (3rd time). Salesman asks us if we need help we explain our situation and he pretty much shrugs and walks away. No commission for him so no help for us, basically. We don't see anything we like. For shits and giggles we go over to Best Buy. Same fridge, cheaper price, better service. We go back to P.C. Richards and request a refund. We are given one and the manager (different one) approves the transaction for the cashier. No one asks us what's wrong, what happened, nothing. Like your location is taking on a $1400 return and no one seems to even try to turn around the sale. I worked retail for nearly a decade and that's pure lack of care. I was supposed to call Alex back the following day to let him know which model we decided on but I never did. He never followed up with us. P.C. Richard & Son lost a customer. My family has been going to this establishment for decades and we aren't anymore. Our beautiful fridge, undamaged and in stock was delivered by Best Buy and we couldn't have been more pleased. read more

I had my car starter installed over a year ago by John at the Patchogue location. He installed it, and was very thorough teaching me how to use it. Fast forward many months later, I realize the heat/AC does not go on when I remote start it. Finally got to bring it back to have it looked at- thank goodness John was still there - he was able to squeeze me in and checked it out. Turns out I had a blown fuse - which he fixed free of charge - and with new instructions to leave my heat/AC set on two or three so the fuse can't blow again, once again sent me on my way. since I had to give a star, gave one. Bought a washer/dryer and paid for installation and a service plan 2 years ago. I had an emergency due to a neighbor having a flood, and had to move my washer and dryer from its original installed location only to discover that the installation was done improperly 2 years ago that they put a kink in the waste hose upon installation which I was unaware of. Went back to the store, told them my situation they told me had to wait for serviceman to come and look at the hose and then had to wait for them to order it. Its been 3 months without machines. Guy comes today, changes the hose, and does not re-install machines and states that was not on the service order. Meanwhile they told me that if I had a licensed plumber install my machines it would void the service plan. Service agent had the gall to accuse me of kinking the hose, as if I could actually move my washer and dryer, and why would I want to move them once they are installed? The kink is permanently there, I can't even straighten it. Service hung up on me and PC Richard is not backing their faulty installation and not helping me. The concept of a bric and mortar buildings where you buy electronics is slowly fading in my mind. These businesses are limited to the inventory that they currently have. Online companies may take longer to get things shipped to you, but chances are they have it. However I did like how organized "P.C. Richard" was. The place was super clean and the staff was friendly. It's nice to see. Business still give great customer service. When I walked in the gentleman asked if he could help me right away rather then finding someone to help me. I asked what I wanted and yes they did have it, but not the size or speed I needed for great performance. I did enjoy looking around though. The TV's are all hanging on one side of the building by size. Everything I saw was reasonably priced. I would go there in the future if in fact I wanted a new TV. While I was waiting for a Supervisor to call me, I called the Patchogue PC Richards Store and spoke with Sal McDermott, a manager at the store. I explained my microwave dilemma and he listened and explained that he would be more than happy to help.
