I was in the store a couple days ago, and an elderly couple needed help with a question about a printer. These people were there when we got there, but they were ignored. There was a gentleman in a wheelchair was a I setting up a display (he was NOT the problem, I am also disabled) and they asked him if he could help. As a contractor, he didn't have the information they needed. The outside contractor then went to get someone to help them. I waited several minutes (10-15) and noone came. My husband was wanting to purchase something, so I went to customer service and asked them to call someone, and so the waiting game began again. Finally after another ~10 minutes or so because my husband REALLY wanted that item. Enter Brad. Brad went to my husband first, so we let him know that the elderly couple was here first. He fobbed it off by saying "it'll be fine". The couple were clearly upset, so we asked what they needed (to see if we could answer their question). The question was out of our wheelhouse, so we AGAIN asked Brad to handle their issues first. Again what we asked him to do was ignored, and the couple even more than we were. We typically go to the Allen store, but we happened to be on this side of town. We will not be making that mistake again. As we left, we went over and let that couple that the store in Allen has employees who would help them with their questions. (For the record this poor couple STILL had not been helped! Brad scurried away after our purchase). It was getting run down before this happened, but this will be the last time I go to THIS location. his just added icing to the cash! They indicated that there were too many in the case to look through them all searching for the requested item and suggested i had looked at the wrong store. After they got tired of waiting for me to find the item on the BestBuy website they eventually unlocked the display cabinet and briefly looked through the stock to find the correct item. It seems to me that a floor sales person without the ambition to actually do the work checking to see if he has the item a customer wishes to purchase is a large liability to the store. read more

I purchased a new refrigerator and a new TV on 9/19/23. Refrigerator was delivered and set up within a couple of days. However, I have been getting a run around on the delivery of my TV from 9/25/23 through today 10/3/23. Initially, I was called on the 25th to deliver in 5 min (no advance warning) and I was leaving the house. Since then, they scheduled for the 26th (no show), 28th (no show), 29th (no show), 10/1 (no show) and today they scheduled for 9am (no show), called them and they said by 1pm (no show) and then 3pm (no show). We purchased a GE Profile gas cooktop from Best Buy on October 14, 2024. We paid $2700.00 for the product, delivery and installation. The stove top was delivered to our home by RNW Logistics, a third party contractor working for Best Buy. The old stove top we were replacing required totally different parts for connection than did the new one. The RNW crew failed to identify the change needed thus did not come prepared to make the installation. One of the issues was that the downdraft vent in the old cook top required parts to connect a four inch vent hose to a four inch vent opening. RNW brought a six inch hose without any parts to connect the hose to the downdraft vent, and did not bring a step down to connect the six inch hose to the four inch vent opening. The lead man on the team stopped the work saying that because they did not have the necessary parts, he was going to have to make adaptons to complete the install and that I would have to pay them $160.00 in addition to the $270.00 we paid Best Buy for the install. The option was for us not to pay and be without a cook top until the issue could be resolved with Best Buy. How long I asked, and of course he did not know and all of a sudden he did not speak very good English. So we paid. The installation continued with the team using some sort of tool to carve on the vent opening trying to enlarge the four inch opening to a six inch opening. That did not go well, so they wadded the hose up and forced it into the vent opening and then secured it with a roll of duct tape. We walked out of the kitchen and poof they were gone, no receipt, nothing for us to sign, just gone leaving us with a mess. We contacted Best Buy, told her the story, showed her the pictures and she assured us that Best Buy was going to stand by us, that this would be made right. She gave us a number to call corporate install, we did and got a case number. They told us we would hear from Best Buy escalation team within twenty four to thirty six hours. It has now been two weeks and thus far we have heard nothing. Best buy has not stood by us, they have ignored us. They hired a transportation company to make the delivery and to install the stove top. We needed that stove top more than normal because it is Thanksgiving, so we had the old mess and all the duct tape ripped out and now have a professinbal install. My counsel to anyone considering making such a purchase from Best Buy is to remember the age old advice; buyer beware. Check who will they be using to make the delivery and or install, and if possible use a credit card so you will have an advocate to speak for you, because you as a customer will have little or no influence with this large, uncaring corporation. And when they say they will stand behind you, realize whag they are truly saying is, once we have your money, you are out there by yourself. they will be so far behind you that you will not be able to see them. read more

I like this location because the staff is so friendly (although this is true of most places in McKinney!). It has everything a normal Best Buy has but with the added benefit of people who will actually help you out. We've bought a couple of big purchases here since we moved into the new house and I think that I would not have been as comfortable spending that kind of money if they weren't so helpful. From selling me floor model items and refusing to discount even though items were incomplete and floor models to losing parts of my order and pre order gifts. I even one time had to get the office of the CEO involved. Well, these were all legacy issues from many years ago and perhaps California issues because I have had nothing but excellent service here at the McKinney location. I can't speak highly enough for their associates and their willingness to help and always with a friendly smile and demeanor. I've been here at least 7 or 8 times since moving to McKinney last November and every single interaction has been positive and fulfilling. Every big store should be managed and run like this one. I've been buying appliances from Brad for 20 years. Never an issue. When my dishwasher broke in October I bought an LG online. I paid extra for the third party install. After two months, water leaked at the bottom of the unit when I ran it. It's under warranty so BB scheduled the same installer to look at it. Yesterday the 3rd party dishwasher install guy called me. Asked what was the problem. I told him about water coming from underneath the dishwasher. So instead of keeping the appointment and coming to look at it, he said it's the dishwasher's tub and he will put in a ticket for a new one. He obviously just didn't want to look at it. So I paid $1,000 for a dishwasher only to be washing dishes by hand for a couple of weeks. This review is applicable to the third party installer, but BB you guys contracted them. Please do better. I'll contact BB today. Not happy the guy wouldn't even bother to come out. PS I paid extra on top of install fee because the guys said they could do it or I could call a plumber. My name is Terrance Hardin. I bought a Kenwood stereo from best buy in Las Vegas Nv. approx. nineteen months ago. I noticed a problem with the installation after about six months, then covid hit and most stores were either closed or reduced service. This is when I started to get the run-a-round and felt like I would get no help. I was so disappointed with Best Buy I was ready to spend money anyplace but Best Buy to fix or replace my radio. I decided to talk to the store manager at the McKinney store. When I went into the store I ask to see him someplace private, we sat in an empty office. I was impressed the manager listened to my situation completely, only asking questions to clarify. After I was finished he did something totally unexpected but greatly appreciated. He replaced my stereo, installed the new stereo, and got the install appointment in time for a trip I'm planning . This was a true blessing. If I could give less than one star I would. I took my son to get a radio installed in his Jeep because of the free installation deal they were running. We were told it would take an hour and so my son arrived on the day and was told it would take a bit longer, he shouldn't wait. So I went to pick him up and am then told that the installation would be more difficult than they thought so I needed to reschedule for 10 day from now and I would have to pay an additional charge for the "free" installation. I immediately got involved and asked to speak with a manager and yet another child came to speak with me. I explained that difficult or not, this was our scheduled time and I expected the work the worked to be completed now. I wasn't at all concerned about the people scheduled after me because they could easily just call in an additional tech if needed and I wasn't going to pay any fee for a free installation. I told them, they could take as long as they needed just do the job right and do it when they scheduled us to be there. The manager agreed and we left the vehicle there. Fast forward 28 hours later and we have yet to hear anything from the store so we decide to drive back up and we see that our Jeep is still sitting in the same place and there has been no work completed. The tech immediately calls the manager back when he sees that it is us. The manager comes to explain that Best Buy wouldn't be completing any work on my Jeep because they had identified a "Safety" issue. The problem is that the "Safety" issue they said prevented them from working on my Jeep was that an AMP had been previously installed and it was gone so that the exposed wiring from the amp presented a fire hazard. OMFG right!?! The problem with that is that all of that wiring had been disconnected from any power source weeks before by me personally. Had they even bothered to check they could have seen that it carried no current and presented as much of a hazard as carrying a set of jumper cables in your trunk does. The bottom line is the Tech for whatever reason didn't want to work on the Jeep that day and when forced to complete the work found a convenient way out of doing it that the "manager" was too inexperienced to question or know better. This is the second time I have had an issue with this Best Buy and it will be the very LAST TIME I do business with them. read more

Used my rewards account number in Tucson Arizona. Found this out when I attempted to use my $360 credit from a $4,000 dollar purchase back in August. Only to be told I had $260 left?? They admitted that it was used incorrectly by stating the cashier probably missed keyed the entry!?!? Really ... How about an id verification. Second, told it will take up to ten days to be verified and re-issuance of money Fred used!?! Wth!! I came in on cyber Monday to purchase a computer for my son outright using these points.... Store manager josh gets involved and explained he could do nothing and that this would take a long time over the phone .... Which I replied yes I just was on the phone with them. He further related it would be done tonight at 930pm. !!!! He would make the call... Sorry I'm here now at 6pm ???!!!! I called the rewards customer service myself and the guy understood and quickly took care of me by repeating the statement above. 10 days, but I the customer did the leg work not the associate in store - why?? This was the best experience I've ever had in a Best Buy. Best Buy is my go to for electronics or computers, but typically have mixed results with sales people. We got help from a young man, Austin. He was straight forward, didn't overwhelm me with information, but asked me what kinds of things I wanted to do with the laptop I was purchasing. He then directed me to the type/level of machine I needed, and explained the basic differences. He walked through the additional items I might want, explaining pros/cons of the different options. Overall a super easy and efficient experience. It typically takes me at least 3 trips and 3-4 hours to finally pick out a new laptop. This was a one and done, and took less than 30 minutes. read more

We went here today to check out/purchase the necessary equipment for our media room after having a tech come out to the house to give us an estimate. When we went in today, Kathryn took a TON of time giving us her undivided attention, product demos, her personal recommendation on each item -- and even did the research to price-match everything so we could get the best deal possible. Our original quote + installation was likely going to be in the $6K range...OUCH! After her assistance, our media room electronics AND installation will only be about $3500 -- Talk about some super savings, and MUCH more along the lines of what we were originally looking to spend. We only have to wait 4 days before installation; can't wait to have the media room up and running for football season! (Just praying installation is a breeze!) PS - the lady in the mobile department was also amazing. I didn't catch her name, but she was kind, friendly and patient while assisting us in getting the best "bang for our buck" when it came to new cell phones and a new contract! They also price-match in the mobile department which is good to know! Though we were at best buy for a good solid few hours, it didn't seem like it at all, as all of the staff members we met with were competent and totally "on top" of it! I love this Best buy! We have made two major purchases here and each time the sales associates have gone above and beyond to make us happy customers. Our first purchase was a computer for my husband to use for his online trading. He wanted two screens so he could see his graphs and another one for the news feed. He also needed this computer to have a bigger video card than a standard one. Neither one of us are very "techy", so we really had no idea where to start and of course we were on a budget. The sales associate built us a computer and explained to us if we used flat screen tvs instead of monitors it would save us money also. The computer is perfect for my husbands daily use. Woohoo, they hit a home run with that one! Fast forward a year. We now have a media room with no media in it. We want to buy a gaming system and my husband wants a curve tv. Now, they just came out and no one has one in stock. This kind sales associate spends 30 minutes on the phone to find a tv somewhere in the metroplex and price matches it for us. It was delivered that week. They are very patient and always answers the slew of questions we have. Also, another important factor is that they are never pushy. read more
