After spending several hundred dollars on an expensive older refrigerator with nothing being fixed by another company, I tried ED Service a couple of years later and was immediately impressed with the professionalism of their repairman Nick, his knowledge and his skills. He quickly identified the real problem and assured us we did NOT have to defrost the whole frig for several days in order to see if it would work properly. He and his company were very responsive about timing, and took full responsibility for needing to come back after finding during the first visit that a part would have to be ordered. Pricing was very fair even before that, but not charging for the trip or labor for the second visit was truly impressive. I should add that the part was ordered immediately and installed on the next business day. Incredible! I was in need of someone to fix our washing machine, but when I came across ED Services site and reviews I figured I would ask if they could look at my dryer and electric stove top too. I was so kindly greeted on the phone, clearly told what the price for a visit would be and an appointment was made same day. Washing Machine: Nick ran all the error codes on my washer to figure out what the problem was and discovered it was simply a leaky door seal. His honesty was refreshing. Dryer: I was worried the lint was incredibly backed up and needed to be cleared. Also our vent hose had come off and needed to be re-attached. Again, with quick precision Nick completely dis-asembled our dryer, vacuuming out the dust, dirt and debri that had collected inside. He washed and dried the drum and re-attached the hose. He cleaned the entire vent hose and inside of the dryer free from lint. Electric Stove Top: a year or so ago two of the burners stopped working. We figured with the stovetop being 25 years old it had just gotten old. Nick inspected the entire system and discovered the two burners had gone out because a short had occurred and burned up where the electric chord connects to the control panel. Because of the age of our stove top he said he and his office would try and track down a replacement control panel and once they did they would reach out to let us know. I was so impressed by the honesty and hard work ED Services offered. His patience and friendliness also put me at ease. We needed fast refrigerator repair, and were concerned that our aging fridge would have to be replaced. ED was able to help us quickly. Igor showed up a few minutes early which was a welcome change from other service providers that show up unpredictably within a few-hours window (if you're lucky). He was really thorough and spotted the problem- which was just a clogged line causing ice to build up all over. He cleaned everything out thoroughly, cleared out the clog, ensured there were no other issues and all was well before he left (and has been since). I have an old Kenmore oven/range, and one of the heating elements inside the oven actually broke - sparked and had a small flame. Turned the oven off and controlled the small fire, but afterward, the range top wouldn't work either. Found EDService Appliance using the internet for my area (Near Frankford and the Tollway). Good reviews and I got a good feeling talking to Roman, who handles the incoming phone calls. As my unit is so old, I wanted to be sure that they could fix it before adding the possible expense of having to buy a new oven/range by having to pay a fee for their trip out diagnose as well. Explained my situation, gave Roman all of the info that agreed to a plan/fee schedule for it. Call was on Friday and so we set the appointment for Monday, early afternoon. Nick showed up right on time. A very sharp younger man who is pleasant and professional. I briefly repeated what I'd told Roman and led him to the kitchen. He went to work, and in less than 40 minutes he had replaced both the oven and broil elements (I asked him to replace the other while he was in there because with an oven/range over 20 years old, if one element broke down the other can't be far behind). Price was very reasonable (their diagnostic fee was less than most others, and they do apply it to the work if you go ahead and get it done while they are on the first call. I will definitely call them again if (when?) my next appliance adventure happens, and also happily recommend them to anyone else looking for direct, honest and fairly priced appliance repair in the Plano/Carrollton/Addison area. read more
