My family recently had our 13-year washer stop working properly. We inquired with 2 appliance repairmen about quality washers, and they highly recommended Speed Queen as one was quoted "you never see me for a repair". Our research indicated that Speed Queen was a very reliable, American made washing machine. This further led to us reaching out to Edwin at Best Appliance due to the Speed Queen selection he had available. We came to Best Appliance in McKinney on a Thursday afternoon looking at Edwins deep selection of Speed Queen front load and top load washers. He was sincere and very helpful with all our questions, and he also offered us refreshments. We did not make a purchase then as we wanted to discuss at home before making a buying decision. We returned two days later and requested to look inside the bottom base of a top load and front load Speed Queen washer for mechanical quality and functional review which Edwin more obliged. We decided that the Speed Queen front load was the washer to fit our needs. Edwin was able to deliver the washer 2 hours later that day which was deeply appreciated. We have enjoyed the washer for the first few days and feel great about this washer for years to come. We really love that we are able to support a local family-owned business in Best Appliance and a top-quality product made in the U.S.A. The gentlemen (and his wife) delivering the washer was also an 8-year USMC veteran and very cordial as well. I had been looking for a new washer/dryer set for several days and was not able to find one. I specifically wanted a used pair with a top load washer. I had found one at another used appliance store in the area that would work but it didn't make me super happy and customer service was lacking. At the last minute I saw this place on Google Maps and noticed the reviews were high. I decided to stop in, and I'm glad I did. When I entered the shop, Joanna greeted me and asked what specifically I was looking for and showed me a few options. She apologized and said that typically they kept more in stock but had sold many recently. Joanna then offered me a bottle of water, as the temperatures were 100 today and it was brutal outside. What Joanna probably doesn't know till now, is that the small gesture of offering me a bottle of water made this place a sell. Customer service goes along way, and she nailed it. Overall, the shop was clean and you could tell that the products, both new and used, were taken care of thoroughly cleaned. I certainly would recommend this family owned business to all my friends and family looking for appliances. Not sure how there are good reviews of this place. I had contacted this company through my home warranty. Edwin promptly came to my home on 8/26/19 to collect the $75 visit. He stayed about 3-minutes and said that he would order the part and be back in a couple of days. I had to follow up with him on 9/4/19 at which time he stated that the part was on back order. I had to follow up again on 9/13/19 to only have Edwin ask me if I followed up with the Home warranty company. When I stated no, he asked what date he was at my house and then asked me for the model number of my Fridge (probably should have been something he should have already had). When I asked if the piece has been ordered, his exact response was, "it was and like I stated back order". That was the last friendly communication I had with Edwin. Today is now 10/14/19 and no Edwin to be found. Seven Star Appliance came out last week and the issue is already fixed. So as I stated, I'm not sure how this company has good reviews. I called Best Appliances to service our washing machine because it was not draining. They were quick to respond, came out to assess, ordered part and repaired within a week. Edwin was patient and explained why the drain pump was not working properly and how the various parts work together to function. I learned a lot that afternoon. We had a wonderful experience at Best Appliances this morning. There was a great selection of dryers to choose from. We found one in our price range that was actually an upgrade from our previous (now dead) dryer. :) The customer service was excellent and my husband and I were in and out within 15 min with the dryer loaded up in the back of our truck.
