To start off, the geek squad at this location is excellent. They helped me with EVERYTHING I needed for my new Gaming PC setup. Flawless customer support. Some of the employees on the other hand seem to have an issue with those who are disabled and are in visible pain. I bought a few things on black Friday. I also checked into a warranty issue with a microwave i had bought there. I needed to get service or warranty replacement. The geek squad helped he get in contact with their 3rd party service company. They were helpful with getting things set up. I am still in the process of getting the microwave fixed, as they had to order a new part. Internally everything is fine, but their outside service company is not very reliable. They missed appointments and are hard to contact on the phone. The company is Bay Services. They are not making best buy look good ! read more

I bought a TV sound bar for my mom who had a stroke and was put into a memory care unit that was not furnished. We had to buy everything to make her comfy. The sound bar didn't work, so we set it aside to return it. She passed not long later. We were suddenly in a move-out rush. Broken electronics is hardly the focus at this point, so after her memorial I went to return it telling my story. The cold hearted manager who had the authority, denied it. Everything could be improved. November 2024 I purchased a tv online and paid to have it installed. Geek squad gave me a time window to arrive after 2pm. They called at noon to say they were at my place. I was home but I was on an important phone call so I missed the call they left. When I called to find out about them getting back out to my house it was gonna be like a week ,so I tried to work it out where I would just go pick it up instead. I got to the store same day. In the meantime my TV has been sold. The manager at the store said it was due to the fact when they were trying to cancel it being delivered it went back online and somebody purchased it so I was upset, but I was willing to work with them and buy different TV. The manager was able to get me the original TV. and I had friends pick it up for me the same day but spent several hours at the store for management to get it figured out. That was extremely frustrating. Now here it is nine months later my TV was paid off within three months and my credit card account was canceled recently apparently because of an old account that was under a bankruptcy. They've gotten the two accounts mixed up so I'm fed up with the store. I'm fed up with Best Buy. I'm fed up with Citibank. None of them can help me. I spent two hours on the phone this morning and I spoke to seven people, six of them with Best Buy and one with Citibank. None of them could help me with my most recent credit card with them which was in great standing, because of this I lost my 50.00 reward. It's Shameful. There's no place for me to walk in and talk to anyone. I went to Best Buy in person yesterday. They cannot help me , shameful. Shameful. Shameful and then when I call I get the phone trees on every phone call I got a phone tree. I have the names of everybody. First at Best Buy. Her name is Lauren. Firstly, we have been Best Buy purchasers for years. We pay for Geek Squad and do a lot of business with Best Buy, but this most recent purchase has been HELL. The appliance that broke was only three years old, the repairman (Ruben) was great! He came out three times to try and fix it and was very helpful, even though nothing could be done to fix them (#lemonappliance). So we ordered a new appliance. That is where the trouble started. The website is so outdated and has no consideration for the user that its almost impossible to order exactly what you need and the services you need to go with it (install and take away). The first set of ovens that we ordered were too large because the size was not clearly presented. The second set of correctly sized ovens took more than a month to arrive and on the day of arrival we were told that we did not select the uninstall and install portion of the delivery and take away. Looking back at the process there are two separate clicks for adding that to the order and the process of checking out which is dumb and confusing from a user experience standpoint. During this whole process there was no way to contact anyone in customer service to verify or assist in any of the ordering and appointment setting up. So 4 months and thousands of dollars later we still don't have the very expensive appliance installed and functioning. Customer care and service is atrocious! You cannot sacrifice the bottom line over the care and service of the customers. We are seriously considering canceling ALL of our services and never using Best Buy again. read more

As a collector, I love going to Best Buy because they always have a limit on the cards and the lady that is usually at the counter is always very nice. However lately they have been more and more sketchy about the cards. Telling me to come on Saturday that they don't put them out anymore except for that day. For me to show up and they have nothing. Not a single pack. Why tell someone all week to come a day and not have them? A friend also told me that instead of waiting they put what they got out on Friday. Wonder who they sold it to? Family? Best Buy's "Geek Squad" is nothing more than a marketing tool that does nothing to deliver on actually providing technical support. After waiting 2-weeks to have a Sonos Port installed, the 3rd party "tech" shows up and says he can only do a basis "sound bar" installation and cannot help me. So, I call the Gilroy store directly. After listening to music for 5-minutes, someone picks up. I ask to speak to someone in their onsite Geek Squad an am then transferred to an off-shore technical support person, not someone in Gilroy. At that point I'm told I have to visit the store to speak to someone locally. My advice is to never buy any product from Best Buy that you cannot install yourself. Go to a reputable retailer who offers local support. read more

As per usual I can't recommend Best buy enough, pricing, customer service and stock all top notch. Whenever I'm in Gilroy I have to stop in and shop here. I've been to this location many, many times. I was in the market for a new pair of joy cons (you can never have too many) for my Nintendo switch and I went to various stores with no luck, during this pandemic good luck finding some. So I checked their app and they had some available. As always very satisfied with the shopping experience and product. Dumont Rudisel is the Sales Advisor at BestBuy Gilroy, CA you gotta try and look for when updating to a new iPhone. This gentlemen went above and beyond his sales responsibilities. Don't get me wrong, I shop at this BestBuy all the time, and the entire staff truly know their stuff and always happy to help, they got a great crew at this BestBuy. However, Dumont really was a true professional to his craft! I had gone to the T-Mobile next door to trade in my iPhone and the poor guy didn't know much about what he was talking about nor the deals offered, nor did they even have the phone I wanted in stock. I took a few steps next door to BestBuy and not only did Dumont get me into a new iPhone 14 Pro Max 1 TB... - but he got me the extra BestBuy insurance that - FREE APPLECARE!!! - and did a data transfer phone old iPhone to new iPhone, secured all my data and pics - and when my new iPhone was giving me issues because Apple phased out the SIMM card and my phone wasn't dialing out, Dumont jumped on the phone with T-Mobile and got me online ASAP. I wanted to tell my terrible experience with Best Buy in hopes that it will save others from the frustration that I had .. I purchased a washer last weekend and set delivery up for today...the original phone call was frustrating enough in the fact that they make you go thru a 10 minute menu when you call just to TRY to get to a live person...3 times I was transferred to a wrong department just to SIMPLY PURCHASE the washer.. why a live person can't answer the phone and simply direct your call to the appropriate department is beyond me! Anyway, I was told I would get a call or a text ahead of time to inform me of the delivery time... Well, they have me between 9:30-1:30 in an email so I went to work- an hour away from home- and I worked thinking I would get a call.. well, I received a call at 10:45 from a 3rd party delivery service telling me they were at my house!!!... I told them I eclectic a call in advance and was told they called ..but I had no voicemail....I asked could they go do another delivery and come back and was told no...I asked could they go to lunch and I would be there shortly and was told no... Eventually I spoke to a manager and after 30 minutes on hold I was finally told that he had received confirmation that they would deliver it by 8 pm ....I stayed home all day waiting and when I hasn't recieved it by 7 I called Best Buy, went thru 10 minutes of menu garbage, FINALLY got thru to a manager abd told him the situation abd all he could say was " I'm Sorry..I can reschedule that for you"!!!.. I said no thanks I already lost a day's wages and I wasn't about to go through that again. If their third party delivery people are so inconsiderate and don't actually care if you get your product on the day they promised, then I don't need to be purchasing any items through Best Buy ever again. I will take my business to Lowe's or Home Depot because they both have the washer for the exact same price! This is not an isolated instance since Best Buy does not handle ANY deliveries themselves...I did not know this, and they certainly don't tell you when you give them over a $1000.00 of your hard earned money to purchase an appliance and then you are at the mercy of a two bit delivery service that doesn't give a crap! read more

1-10-2024 went into best buy Gilroy Jesus' spent quite a while with us helping us with information about tablets. We decided to purchase 2 tablets with a screen protector for each. Jesus was awesome by the way. When we were paying for our purchase we were informed that there was only 1 tablet and 1 screen protector in stock. So we took the one of each, and they ordered one of each to be sent to our home. We took the screen protector and the tablet to the front to have one of the geeks install the screen protector. Apparently the screen protector was defective so the geek said he would order one and we should come back in two days and he would install it. So we scheduled an appointment for 1-12-2024. So the 12th comes around and we go home from work pick up the new tablet and the new screen protector that we purchased and brought it to our 4 o'clock appointment. We arrived 10 minutes early and had to wait for 30 minutes. When it was finally our turn, we explain the situation. A different geek helped us by taking the tablet and the screen protector that were delivered to our home into the back room to install it. Meanwhile, one of the young Shan men at the register was tasked with the job of finding the screen protector that was delivered to Best Buy . So approximately 20 minutes later and four other clerks later, all of which were looking on the computer for the screen protector. They informed us that the screen protector was delivered to our home. they told me that a number of times they told me that the one screen protector that was ordered for us by Best Buy was delivered to our home. I told them that the screen protector and the second tablet that we ordered were delivered to our home. There was no other packages from Best Buy. They told me yes that screen protector was ordered by Best Buy to replace the defective one. I said I purchased one tablet and one screen protector and it was ordered to be delivered to my home and that is the only one that was delivered. So they go back to the computer. Finally, they come back again and say oh you're right for some reason the order that was placed by the geek two days ago was canceled so the other screen protector to replace the defective screen protector was never ordered. They said will order one and you can come back and have it put on when it gets here, I asked them if they could call me and let me know when it came in so that I didn't have to waste a trip there again. They said no we're too busy with big orders we can only send an email. So it this point I am thoroughly disgusted then they tell me that the screen protector they have ordered won't be in for a week. So my end result is I still don't have the replacement screen protector. But I have learned that in the future I will not purchase items at Best Buy Gilroy. It isn't as convenient as you might think. The Gilroy store is apparently too small of a business to carry more than one of any item at a time. As much as I love my home town. I will shop in San Jose or online in the future. read more

I recently had the Geek Squad from Gilroy come to our home today to install a large screen tv and they did an excellent job. The two technicians who came knew what they were doing, arrived on time, and were courteous (Yes!). The two individuals were Eddie and Jamie. In addition to the tv installation it became apparent that the necessary bandwidth was insufficient for high resolution viewing. They suggested items that would certainly improve things and we agreed. Our bandwidth went from 8 mb/s to 114 mb/s. What a huge improvement! I'm very pleased with the results and very much recommend them highly. read more

We bought a computer at this location a few months ago and the computers hdmi plug ins stopped working, we had a warranty so we took it in to geek squad to get it fixed! They said we could not get a replacement and that we had to send it out for two weeks. They said for the meantime we can buy another one and they could transfer all our information to the new computer,they required that we need to give them all our codes to the computer and the computer cloud as well ! We we're hesitant to do this but we need a computer while the broke one was being fix so we gave them our access codes. Ever since that day all our bank accounts have been hacked, they opened up accounts in our name , tried to get out retirements , tapped into all our credit cards even into iPhone cloud. I went in 2 days ago and I had questions about Adobe Photoshop. My questions were pretty basic; 1. I wanted to know which option has the dodge, burn and cloning tools. 2. How do you know you're eligible for the student package, as I am a student at CSUMB. No one seemed to have any answers for me and I really need this program. I ended up purchasing the adobe creative cloud photography plan with Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC. Im pretty sure I could have used my student email to get it at a lower cost. I never usually go here for anything but I was looking in a few places for a good galexy note cover. So luckily we found it here although they had very little selection when I went. I got to experience a few new things they had to play with in electronics. That's always fun :-) What knocked down the stars from 5 to 3 was this really weird creepy dude that kept following my husband and I. I didn't care at first until he kept pursuing us down every isle. Turns out it was security. I guess we look like hoodlums. I mean I can't say it was racist since he was of the same ethnicity as me. But profiling me is just a waste of his time. Whatever. Best buy in Gilroy really has to clean up there act ,, bought a laptop from them and the sale guy "little punk rock looking dude" said it was touch screen and had the beats audio sticker price was $499 . When I got home it wasn't the same lap top that was displayed and wasn't even touch screen. . Called the store the next day and told them what had happened, so they told me to come in and they would take care of it. So after work I drove 45 minutes back to best buy to go in and figured that had changed up the display with one without touch screen. And I talk to the main guy that displays the laptops and he was saying he "never" had a beats lap top touch screen in his store, what a "FUCKIN JOKE!!" these guys really need to get there shit together .. will NEVER shop there again would rather get everything at Wal-Mart.
