I have been going to this Best Buy for some time now. I feel that they have a pretty good choice of items. I am always able to find what I need at a relatively good price. The staff here is usually pretty good and on top of the last trends. I am always able to find help and get answer to my questions. The store set up is really good. They are always busy for sure. I will say I am not a fan of the independent sales rep that is here. I always seem to get hot by that one persistent one that understands the word no and keeps following me around the store asking me questions about my cell service or whatever. But overall I like it here. I also have dealt with their Geek Squad and was impressed by my service they really got what I was talking about and was able to help me. When we arrived at the Best Buy store in Gainesville Florida to have the work done, we were told "oh, we don't do that kind of thing" and, when we told the Geek Squad agent that the people at the main Geek Squad call-in phone number had told us that they did, they said "oh, they often lie about things like that. Came in to exchange my Aftershokz bluetooth because I bought their 2 year exchange warranty. The manager on duty Mike D. told me to go find another one and they can do the exchange. I went to get it and one of the associate left ok it up and they were out of it. I went back and spoke to the manager if he can order and call me when it comes in, he told me very firmly that they can't do that. What happened to customer service etiquette, of taking care of someone that bought your insurance. We get notification that order was delayed, and it would be November before we would receive the computer (this was October). So, we decided to see if the Gainesville store had something and yes, they did so we call and cancel existing order. I was concerned because the representative spoke very little English. Trying to find a knowledgeable sales rep/manager/supervisor without an attitude in this store is like trying to find a four-leaf clover in the middle of the Sahara, it's impossible. I've lived in Gainesville for 10 years and have always had a bad experience with this best buy. I hate shopping here, but sometimes I have no choice because it's the only one in town. Shopping at Best Buy is consistently an unpleasant experience. Buying a MacBook requires one to wait around their Apple tables for 15 minutes hoping an associate will eventually wander by, finally ask him to retrieve a specific model, and then simply HOPE he picked up the right model.If you ask to see the box before checking out to make sure it's the right model, the checkout guy will show you the front of the box which is absolutely identical across dozens of Apple models. My, how amusing. These are allegedly anti-shoplifting measures, but Best Buy has crafted them so poorly and with such disregard for customers time and dignity that they've created a truly untenable situation. I have been going to this Best Buy since the turn of the century. It has seen a number of changes over the years, and my visits have become fewer and further between over the years with the advent of better online shopping and the loss of certain departments in the building, but it is still a nice place to go to from time to time just to see in person what is out there in the realms of technology. Gone are the days of multiple aisles of music CD's (which is unfortunate... I enjoyed browsing that section and picking things out from time to time) and the DVD movie section pales in comparison to its former glory. I do like what they have done up front with their registers. Gone are the multiple lanes, and instead there is one long counter with a queue that works on a first in first out process. On this visit I really was just browsing, needing to kill half an hour before a dinner event across the way. Frankly nothing really caught my eye. There just wasn't anything that I wanted or needed, but it was useful in keeping me up-to-date in current technologies of consumer electronics. read more

I came to get a repair in which I had called before to make sure they were able to do it, when I got there they told me they didn't have the part and that it would take 2-3 days to be ordered, I live an hour away so I complained in which they gave me a discount for the drive. Anyways they left me a voicemail saying that if I didn't come by a certain date that it would be canceled even though I had already payed for it, I spent around 2 hours total on customer support where one guy even hung up on me when I told him I wasn't satisfied with their service. Overall the customer service was the worst I've ever experienced, only reason I gave it 2 stars is the fact that the repair was fast and the discount, but the customer service was outrageous at least on their support line read more

I asked this out loud when I was in there on Saturday trying to find a computer game. They have five computer games (tops) and about 10 Barbies. I thought I was at an electronics and appliances place... BB has an issue with having too many customers and not enough floor staff. I finally found someone helping someone else in the gaming area and at a quiet moment I asked, "Hey can you point me to your computer games?" I didn't want to interrupt but I knew if I waited for the singled dude working in the entire gaming section I would be waiting a long time. He gave me a funny look and said, "All I have is right there" and pointed at a rack in the same aisle. 1. BB, yes, some of us do play actual games on our Macs and PCs. Not all of us are console players. And the games we play are a big deal. So perhaps, GNV BB, you should get some computer version games in stock and stop judging me. 2. BB, you only had three Sims 4 games?! Are you kidding me?! Sims 4 is hot right now and they JUST released a new adventure pack, which of the four PC games you had in stock was 1. It's not the one I was looking for but there you go. 3. BB, I appreciate that you allow me to buy my computer games through you and be able to download them except when the steps to download said purchased game is annoying. First I got an email saying thank you for your purchase, okay, I was expecting that. Then I got an email telling me it might take up to 4 hours for the email instructions for how to download my game to come to my email. Then I get the email with a link to the instructions but when I clicked the link I got an error message telling me that "PDF not found". wah wah 4. BB, if you plan on doing more online like this perhaps you should, I don't know, post your fricking phone number on your website under the contact us portion. Because it wasn't there. I had to dig around in the FAQ and other areas to find it. 5. I apologize to the very nice gentleman I spoke with from BB's customer service. I think he was French and had a LOVELY accent but I couldn't understand him, so I give myself 1 star for constantly having to ask him "I'm sorry, I didn't understand, could you repeat that?" This one visit reminded me why I don't go into BB anymore. Why I sit in the car with the AC going and listening to a podcast while my husband wanders around for however long he would like. It was packed. It was warm. There weren't enough sales associates on the floor (but kudos to the young woman who tried really hard to presell us the Galaxy S10 that we were looking at). My other adventures to BB have included sales associates not knowing the stock and me having to explain how things work to them - this is especially true in the camera section. Please don't go to BB to buy your camera equipment, message me. I'll help you out and send you to a really good dealer who will bend over backward to make sure you get exactly what you want. Walked in anticipating to schedule a radio install. It like a scene from one of those walking dead movies. Customers all slouched down staring at their phones, and some into outer space. One employee helping a customer and another playing a video game on his phone. I tried to talk to one playing the game and he told me that he was also helping a customer. Takes up about 20% of floor space and gets 1% (or less) of support from staff (yes, you will need to call or scream or holler to get someone to help you). When I go in, the positivity of the GNV BestBuy team gets me - from Couch, to the Apple product folks, to Greg in GeekSquad, and Ryan Van, supervisor. But, after repeated issues with my device and a mistake on the behalf of GeekSquad in store and corporate, in January, I was eligible for a device replacement (per Lemon Law, part of the US Code Title 15, section 2301. Greg was recognized the fault of the store and encouraged a store credit in my original purchase amount to secure a new device. Ryan agreed and suggested we wait off if and when the hardware issue persisted. Fortunately, I had him sign an agreement to this, noting I'd hope nothing came up as a problem in the future. I waited (we were mid-semester at school - I teach). COVID-19 is now here. Mid-semesters this week. Called in. Was told Greg was busy; call back to chat the next day to figure out things when Greg and Ryan are around. Called today (no store visits; I actually had an appointment set for today which, of course, was not possible to attend). Although Shirley, who answered the phone yesterday, said Greg and Ryan would be around.... they're not. I'm getting the circle around. Chatting with Nick. Started off positive; stressful now. Awaiting another call back. I just wanted a darn store credit so I can buy another laptop and another $350-$400 warranty from you.. take my money.. keep my business over two decades! Please do not ever order a washer or dryer from this business. They took our old dryer last Friday and we had the new dryer scheduled to come on Saturday. They did not come. Then they said they would come on Monday. Nope, so they came on Tuesday and did not finish the installation even though I was inside the window of 12-6pm. I would not recommend going to this geek squad. They lack communication between associates and managers and it's a lot of back and forth. I went to get my phone fixed earlier this year and had my screen and battery replaced. A couple of weeks after they fixed my battery, my charging port stopped working. So I went to trade in my phone but it wasn't eligible for a trade-in because they removed the watermark on the screen that shows if the phone got wet or not. T-mobile could not tell if I went to a Apple certified place to fix my phone or some random repair store. And I have only gone to this Best But to fix my phone. I do not recommend going to geek squad to fix your iPhone! read more

It's been years of the same terrible and incompetent customer service but we live in this town and if we need something sooner than waiting for it to be shipped, we have to muster up the patience to deal with this armpit of Best Buy. Did a curbside pick up and watched a bald headed male employee come out and look at my vehicle in the designated spot maybe 5 minutes of checking in so I figured cool, should be any minute now. I proceeded to get on a call and lost track of time and here I am 30mins later from check in with no product. I could absolutely just go inside but the last time I did that, the wait was just as long bc even though I received the notification it was ready, they couldn't find my items. I'll stick to shipping bc honestly eff this store and every single employee intentionally waiting for me to walk inside bc they aren't "paid enough" to come outside to fulfill a curbside order that the store offers. Ah, another visit to a place which makes me mourn the loss of professionalism, courtesy, and know-how of Radio Shack. Let me expound upon this: Every trip I've taken to this particular Best Buy is fraught with minor issues of customer service civility that enrage me to no end. At least THIS trip, the door greeter ACTUALLY said his welcome tagline - I was impressed with the improvement over my last two trips and looked forward to a more professional experience. Sadly, as always, it was not to be. I was looking for one thing only: A installation copy of Windows 10 for my computer. I was unable to locate the software on my own; the four store personnel who passed me while I searched didn't seem interested in assisting my search, so I waited until the clerk in the area (one Rob) was finished with his customer. I approached his desk, onl.y to be greeted with a lackadasical "What's up, dude?" This fellow may have been 35. I'm 52. See the issue? I choked down my usual hostile response to such impropriety from a sales clerk, and let him know what I was seeking. Suffice it to say, there was only Win 10 Pro available... no big deal, until Rob took it upon himself to WHYteSplain the difference... Rob is Caucasian. I'm not. However, I've been working with Windows products since 3.1. Rob quickly rang up my purchase; I noted he didn't try to upsell me anything, no additional software or even a warranty. I'm surprised he actually asked if I have a Best Buy Rewards membership (I do, it's just the last three trips I've had to be the one to mention it to this store's personnel... I guess Blacks don't get warranties - or aren't supposed to, go figure). This Best Buy location is not the best, but it's certainly not the worst. Stock here can be limited, especially in popular items. There are really good sales on computers a couple of times a year, so keep your eyes peeled. Employees here are nice. You can tell that they don't really like their jobs, but they try. They are zero out of two with horrible service. I came to pick up a headset I had purchased on line, and found out their policy was to just cancel the order instead of notifying me that the item was not in stock. I ended up getting something that was inferior instead, and regret it. The headset did not perform, and when I went to return it, realized their return policy was 15 days. That is on realistic and and unreasonable in my opinion. Everything should have at least a 30 day return policy. I have given them to opportunities, and they failed both times.
