What a cool nursery! Tons of great selections of plants and gifts. Lots of pots to chose from and a great holiday display. We had a great time perusing their wares and I made numerous purchases. They were very helpful in answering any questions. They also have an indoor greenhouse with fun exotics to view. All in all a great place to shop! read more

I have spent probably tens of thousands of dollars at Berridge over the years between design services, high-end planters, fountains and plants, and have not had particularly bad experiences until recently. Their customer service and pricing has never been outstanding, but they made up for it in selection. Lately, though, I don't know what is up with their hiring practices but their younger male employees are aggressively rude to female customers during checkout. Sooo, three strikes and you're out, Berridge. I will be going to Whitfill in the future. They are just as convenient, selection is just as good and they have a much more welcoming vibe. Plus, they have goats! read more

Absolutely the best nursery in Phoenix. I love the selection they have of all sorts of plants form roses to vegetables. They have all the stuff you can find anywhere; what is impressive is they have a great selection of unusual plants. Their staff is very knowledgeable and will help you when you buy or when you come in and ask questions later. Most of the staff gives off the attitude that they love their jobs, It is so refreshing to talk with people that really want to help and not just go through the motions. Berridge will also guarantee the plants you buy so when one does die on transplanting they will replace it. If you are buying potting soil they are expensive I usually go to Home Depot or elsewhere for stuff like that. I get my plants seeds and vegetables at this nursery it is my go to place for my hobby, read more

The nursery is beautiful and stocked with what you would expect. The prices are a little higher compared to other nurseries but it is conveniently located for Arcadia and PV. Unfortunately, the some customer service skills when there are issues with the plants. They seem to take it personally and try to give you every reason why a plant cannot be returned. It is disappointing treatment for a customer to experience. I want plant shopping to be easy, fun and stress free. Most of the other people who work in the plant area are very nice and informative. I am not sure it is enough to go back. read more

This is a beautiful nursery with a broad selection of plants. I came in mid-January and was surprised at how big the selection of plants was so early in the season. You'd think such a well stocked and esthetically pleasing nursery would be very pricey but I found them to be reasonable. Actually, I found them to be more reasonable than Baker. I am not a rose growing expert but Berridge has the largest selection I have ever seen. Many are the tall potted variety but they also have some growing in trenches that they dig up when you pick yours out. They do not have a huge selection of organic fertilizers or seeds here, which is the only reason why I am giving them less than 5 stars. Unfortunately, I do not live in AZ otherwise I would love to come back and check out the veggies in the spring. read more

This was my favorite Nursery in the area. Sure you can find plants at places like Fry's and Home Depot, but this place Rocks! Beautiful Displays, lots of color choices, a full selection of desert trees and shrubs, vines, perennials, annuals, pottery, cacti, as well as house plants. You can't come here and leave empty handed. It is a well run, leader in the Garden Center Industry. read more

Super helpful and knowledgable. Plant selection is great and lots of native plants to select from. Plants are healthy and proces are good. I will be nack often!! read more

This place is a fantastic nursery. The people there are always very helpful and knowledgeable. Berridge Nurseries isn't exactly the cheapest place to get things like soil and fertilizer, but the prices on roses and veggies are competitive and I feel like the overall quality is much better than you could find at a place like Home Depot. It's also just a great place to wander around with the kids. The extensive selection of roses in particular, is wonderful. read more

Simply the best nursery. So it must be the best. Customer service is top notch. The plants are the best quality and huge selection . They help with any questions I spend all day learning how to take care of all my plants. Hands down the best roses in the town. Looked every where read more

Went there today for the first time and it was a very pleasant experience. Got to talk to Bill who is the person in charge of all the roses, super knowledgeable and super nice as were all of the staff. Hugh selection of roses!! read more

These guys are so knowledgeable and helpful. I've gone in a few times deciding between plants for my house. You can tell they know what their talking about because they're consistent on the info they give you. They're super friendly and also encourage you to reach out if you have any issues. I definitely intend to buy here again! read more

Have 0 clue why this place doesn't have 5 stars. Berridge is the best in the valley. Has the most incredible indoor plant selection. This business takes GOOD care of their plants year round. You will not buy something that looks half dead or falling apart like other places. Everything is alive and pristine. Also the indoor plant selection is very affordable. Can't go wrong here. read more

Such a wonderful nursery! had all 10 plants on my plant wish list. very organized and i also appreciated how clean they were such friendly staff that are willing to help as well! my favorite nursery in Arizona. read more

I talked to Bill last week about what to plant for privacy along my block fence. He spent time on the phone with me and gave me good advice.

Great selection and helpful staff. The plants are not inexpensive, but everything is well cared for and very healthy. Just like Whole Foods, you don't shop here if you are on a budget. For my needs, Berridge is perfect and one of the only places in the valley to have raw bansi trees and actually someone on staff who knows about their care. read more

There is no prioritizing health and safety at this nursery. I must tell you the story. Yesterday, I visited Berridge Nursery and found four of the staff walking around without masks. One was the manager. There were many customers and these four workers were in close proximity to everyone-less than six feet-as they stocked items and answered questions. When I asked at the check out why this was happening, I was told that Berridge Nurseries will not force employees to mask up if they have "personal reasons either medical, religious, or otherwise". This is interesting because every other nursery in the area I've visited has strict rules about employees wearing masks to protect customers as well as each other. I confronted the unmasked manager and informed her my mother had passed away the week prior from Covid-19. She stared at me speechless and apologized for not wearing the mask she then retrieved from her pocket. Disgusting. After leaving I then called one of the owners and was told by her that, "outdoor workers do not need to wear masks as long as they are social distancing from everyone at least six feet". When I informed her that this distancing wasn't happening due to the many customers, she then said, "Oh, well I guess we are still thinking it's summer when we only have a few customers walking around. I'll have to address the issue." Ya think? In the meantime, who knows how many people could have been infected from Covid-19 at this establishment. I must note that the workers who were unmasked were interacting with customers at close range, using a telephone in the little check-out shanty which no doubt was utilized by multiple people, and there was one man watering plants who coughed repeatedly. I must also note that the owner's tone of voice when I spoke with her was quite "snippy". She was clearly irritated at what I was telling her. She attempted multiple times to speak over me which was ridiculous and made her sound defensive. I will not be returning to Berridge Nurseries. As I've said, the other nurseries in the area are doing the right thing by having ALL employees wear a mask. read more

Love this place. Great selection of everything and reasonable prices. Everyone is friendly and eager to help and teach you about the plants. Plus they have incredible gifts, planters and home decor items. I wish I had unlimited money because I would go crazy there! read more

this was a nice find. my usual nursery was out of thuricide, a chemical i desperately needed to thwart the skeletonizers ravaging my beautiful grapes. the place is well laid out, but felt a bit over my comfort zone....much like that fancy gym on camelback..... i don't know if their prices overall are more expensive given their location, but the staff was extremely knowledgeable in helping me find what i needed. i have driven by here and noticed their gates are close at 5pm? isn't that when most regular people get off work and need to shop for stuff? read more

The biggest thanks to Ethan. I went in looking for a peace lily as a personal memorial plant. He was so kind, so compassionate and understanding, in helping me pick my beautiful plant and a pot to go with it. He was patient and took his time to answer all of my questions. I will definitely be back. Thank you again. read more

This place is wonderful. My boyfriend used to work there, so it was his first choice when we went to buy plants to spice up our new patio. We bought some really healthy plants that I can't help but be really proud of! I've never been a plant person, but I love to gather knowledge about almost anything. I was so impressed by the knowledge of the staff at Berridge and better yet - their eagerness to share their knowledge with us. This place gets a huge thumbs up from me! read more

Great selection and very good quality plants overall. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed just strolling around and taking it all in. The staff person that we spoke with was also very personable and had some awesome planting advice as well. We will definitely be back in the future. On a side note the Oregano plant we bought has lasted waaaay longer than others that we have owned. Maybe its just a side effect of us getting better at this whole thing, haha. read more

Simply the best. Candyland for most gardeners. Only negative is they are on the pricier side but you get what you pay for. If you want your home inside and out, to look different than your big box store, this is the place. If you are looking for choices inside and out, then you are in the right place. I was shopping for indoor plants. If I could have taken one of all the plants I would have to move into a bigger home. The help and education was more than a 10. I went in thinking that I didn't need to look at any pots but once I pulled into the parking lot I reconsidered. Two hours later I left happy like the fat kid at the candy store! read more

I love this nursery. This is my go to nursery in the Valley. My favorite employee is Frankie, she is so very helpful every time I come in. She has given me lots of insight and tips to helping my indoor garden grow! She always greets me and remembers the plants I've gotten there. Very knowledgeable in the craft. I highly recommend this nursery to any one new and pro with gardening. read more

I think there might be a new annuals buyer, Kristin. I sent her a photo of an unusual succulent I wanted and she immediately identified it and ordered several flats for me within the week. What I especially like is that she was so quick to communicate the status. That had been my problem with this nursery before, they didn't communicate but Kristin goes above and beyond to reply. I am so pleased as I love the stuff they carry but now I can rely on them for helping out with some of the more unusual finds. Thank you so much Kristin!!! read more

I went here to get several specific flowering plants for my back yard and was quite pleased with the selection and quality, and thought the prices were not high at all - I got 4 large plants and 4 small ones for less than $150, and I'd point out that these were all specialty plants not available at the box stores. They also had a large selection of pots and other supplies. Also the staff were helpful. I'll definitely go back for my next gardening needs. read more

The attitude at this family run business is reprehensible. The cashier has such a huge chip on his shoulder that he has made it his mission to sarcastically snip at everyone he comes in contact with. As a customer, I was told that "they were doing me a favor" by accepting a $16 plant return on something I never should have been sold in the first place. read more

They offer A great selection of both indoor and outdoor plants. They have a great holiday boutique as well.

About a week and a half ago, my boyfriend bought a beautiful bougainvillea and two trumpet vines from Berridge Nurseries. We only have cacti and succulents which are very easy to maintain, so we were excited to try out some vine plants. With that being said, we are definitely rookies in the gardening game but eager to learn. We are aware that we live in the desert and it can be really hard on plants. The tag that came with the plants stated that they did best with full sunlight and occasional watering. However, after a week they were not looking good and we were really worried about over watering them because of what our instructions said. Since its summer time in Arizona and it gets up to 120 degrees, I figured this was surely a huge variable with the water to sunlight ratio. Wanting to be sure on how to care for them, I took photos of our poor plants and set off to Berridge Nurseries hoping for some simple consultation regarding the plants we had bought from them. I spoke with two men and I explained everything that I stated above and how I wasn't sure how much I was suppose to water them. One of them was completely condescending and stated "I don't know why people think they can just not water their plants everyday, its 116 degrees!" Yeah dude, I know its fucking hot out. But the instructions said OCCASIONALLY not DAILY. I felt like my question was somewhat valid given my rookie background. I got my answer, we need to water them at least daily in this heat and provide them with some shade. Great to know, we will see how this works out. But they were very rude and made me feel stupid after I drove 25 minutes to ask them this very simple question. Not everyone knows the best way to care for plants, which you would think is a primary reason why nurseries are in the market. There was another male customer waiting to check out or ask a question. I don't know why both of these employees needed to tell me how dumb I was, one of them could have easily helped the other customer. But when I walked away I heard one of the employees apologizing for the wait saying "sorry, the ladies like to talk to me." So if you are a fan of misogyny and enjoy feelings such as embarrassment and stupidity, this is a great place to go! read more

So we visited this nursery on a vacation, when a hotel gardener gave us agave plants. I just wanted to buy some planters, but ended up spending almost 1.5 hours here. The selection of plants is mind-blowing. I have not been there enough to give it 5 stars but they have a good selection of plants and when I have wanted help they are available. If you tell them your situation they will suggest plants as well. The location comes up fast when you are driving the speed limit on Camelback so you have to really pay attention, but they have a big parking lot. read more

My area of interest is succulent plants. I used to think Berridge is expensive. Not so. They have some expensive plants - but they are specimen plants - many in large sizes - that for the most part you can't find elsewhere. I am somewhat a bottom feeder, so when I buy there it is either something I just can't live without - price be dammed - or, being familiar with plant prices both in Phoenix and Tucson, something I want - and at a great bargain price, i.e., good value. The place is always changing, so I go there to look around at least monthly. It's a matter of being in the right place, at the right time, to have the pick of new arrivals. Qualified staff on hand to answer questions. read more

Caveat emptor! This past Sunday, I purchased the two largest (and most expensive) poinsettias on the Berridge Nurseries lot. By Tuesday, one was clearly wilting beyond repair (they sat together in my living room, so no outside element impacted one over the other). I brought it back, still in good spirits (I am a very regular customer) simply to exchange it for a healthy specimen (I didn't request my money back). I was immediately (and rudely) informed 'Berridge Nurseries doesn't guarantee 'SEASONAL offerings.' Somehow, my 'seasonal money' was welcome, but fully at my risk. For the cost of replacing one poinsettia, and treating this great customer so rudely, Berridge Nurseries will lose my ANNUAL business. (I am also sharing my experience directly with my Biltmore neighbors, so they don't have their holiday decorations undermined, as well.) read more

We arrived late in the afternoon, would expect to be hurried along but that wasn't the case. We had great conversation on AZ planting, pruning and roses with one gentleman ; then walked to the green house close to closing time and learned so much about orchids from a very knowledgeable female employee...I apologize for not using either of their names-we visited your nursery on Wednesday 13th late afternoon. Thank you for your great service! read more

A couple weeks ago on a Sunday we bought 3 - 1 gallon plants, Firecracker plants. We brought them home and put them in our courtyard for our lawn people to plant on Tuesday. All 3 were watered and kept together in their original containers. Monday, one of them started turning brown and by Tuesday it had totally died! The other 2 were fine. So in 3 days time one of the plants was dead. Our lawn people planted the 2 others as they were fine. Because we don't get off work until after Berridge closes, the first opportunity we had to return the dead plant was Sat. We explained what happened and they said we could get another one for half price! We have spent a lot of money in the past at this place. Both my husband and I believe that had we not picked that one particular plant it would have died on their watch by that Tuesday. We just happened to pick a sick plant unknowingly. We didn't do anything wrong, it was in still in their container. For the plant to die in 3 days is crazy. It is unacceptable to me that we should have to pay to replace this plant. I could understand if we had planted it and it died in a week or so. This plant was doomed to die whether we had it or Berridge had it. Any other place would have told us to pick out another one at no charge. We will never go back there. There are other nurseries. And BTW, the staff had a smirk on their face. That made matters worse since we were just appalled at this. They lost a customer over $7.50 which was half of the $15 that we originally paid for the plant. And they didn't have a very good attitude about it. I can't tell you how many of our neighbors and friends we have told of our experience. This is not good customer service. I plan on posting on my FB page. Rachel read more

I had always wanted to go here, but live on the other side of town. When I finally got the chance, I was very disappointed. Went on a weekday, midday and could not get anyone to help me. It was as if I was invisible! One employee did say hello and then walked away. I really needed some advice on hedges. I went up to the window and a girl was sitting there reading the newspaper, she didn't even look up. Another employee was with a customer. That's fine, but she totally ignored me, she could have said "I'll be with you when I finish with this lady," or something. They were not busy, hardly any other customers there. After waiting around for about 15 minutes, I left. I was looking forward to expert advice and I was ready to buy, but nothing! I won't go back. Poor customer service. read more

They were not going to offer their 1/2 price replacement policy for plants that died two weeks after purchase because it was "Angelina's creation"....huh???? Having never met "Angelina" I asked if I was not getting a warranty because when I picked out the succulents and the pot someone offered to put them in the pot for me, the response was "yes"....huh???? I of course argued this absurdity and was finally offered the warranty (which by the way was a whopping $20 dollar discount). I was told I could wait for the replacements to be potted or they would call me when ready. Assuming this meant it wouldn't take too long, I told them to call me when ready. Three days later I called to follow up, it was ready for me but no one bothered to call me. If I had this much problem with my customer service experience over $40 succulents can you imagine what you have to go through if you have a problem with a large purchase!! read more

I'm shopping for a nursery to replace Baker's which I absolutely loved for a lot of reasons. Berridge Nurseries is now the closest nursery to me and after reading such positive reviews I was looking forward to checking it out. I was though very disappointed as I found zero customer service. I went on a Tuesday around lunchtime after it had rained so there were very few people there. I took my time looking around and really hoped to get the attention of an employee so I could ask some questions. As such, I saw people, but didn't know if they were customers or employees and no one every approached me. I could easily have left without anyone even saying as much as a "hello." I did buy a bottle of weed killer on the way out. I asked the clerk about weed control and his answer was so basic that I'm not sure that I got good advice. I'll probably return because of its proximity, but only when I know exactly what I want to get. I'm willing to drive 10 miles or so to find a nursery with helpful, knowledgeable employees and better customer service, especially when I'm ready to do spring gardening and landscaping. read more
