The menu is not your typical menu, it's very crafty if that's a word. The service was very good, and she explained the menu well and we took her up on her recommendations. Turkey pastrami which I had never had before. It tastes really fresh and felt healthy. The salad comes in a little small bowl but full of goodness. It's a really nice place for a girls night out, or a family dinner. Wouldn't consider it a good place for date night as it is pretty loud.

The ambiance is beautiful and nice, and the bartenders are very skilled in making cocktails. The cocktail menu is very impressive, and their selection of whiskey is phenomenal. I ordered an old fashioned with bullit rye whiskey, and it was terrific. We could also order food from Wolfie's Grill, so I ordered the hot honey pepperoni pizza. It was a wonderful pizza. The highlight of our experience was hanging out on the deck watching the view of the Geist Reservoir on a beautiful day. The Broken Barrel -Geist is a wonderful lounge to have a drink and food and enjoy the scenery of the Geist Reservoir. It is the perfect hang out spot in Geist. Everyone should come check it out!

I've never had it like this before I didn't care for it because it was a lot of the center of the lettuce. Hubby got sloppy Joe sliders. He really liked them the french fries were soft in the middle and crunchy on the outside very good. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food and said they would love to come back to this location again. Hand made sweets included a chocolate sable biscuit (cookie), raspberry cupcake, apple bar, and fruit bar. Everything was beautiful, fresh, and tasty. I asked the server to pair me a white to go with my fish & chips, and asked for anything except Moscato. They sent a sauvignon blanc that was perfect. My friend next to be had a bloody Mary that was definitely Instagram worthy (see pics). The menu is fairly extensive, but most of us ordered either the fish & chops or the steak & Guinness pie (like a shepherd's pie). The moment I walked in the doors of Fire & Ice I knew Yelp did me good! The space is bright with a modern farmhouse feel to it. There's a fireplace, lounge seating, tables and chairs, and even a bar area (that's where I decided to sit). The ladies behind the counter were nice and gave me some recommendations. I went with their banana bread latte with oat milk and one of their biscuit sandwiches with egg and American cheese. Both were absolutely delicious and I would order again. I'll add that the restroom was clean, but the wifi wasn't that great. I ended up using my hotspot while I was there. This place is also women-owned and totally gluten free. Seriously, I had no idea until a friend told me a few days later. They're clearly a lot of things right!

There are a variety of tables, also some comfy corner chairs. You order at the counter then they'll bring food to you. We all got (plain) coffee. There's a small sugar station on the end of the counter, but you have to ask for cream. I also told a staff member none of us had been there before, and asked were there coffee refills (since the rest was specialty coffee drinks) or do we pay? She said we can have one refill if we come up. My friends got gluten free egg/biscuit sandwiches. The hubs got a crepe with strawberries, bananas and more in it. I ordered the Galette Bretonne - which is described as "a savory light Buckwheat crepe with City ham, Gruyere cheese, with sunny side up egg" and also comes with a side salad. Our food came fairly quickly. The crepe was visually pretty. The biscuit sandwiches looked like they had nice fluffy biscuits (and, gluten free!) - but they were on the small side (smaller than an egg mcmuffin). My galette looked nice but not like the photo (see pics of mine & one from their web) - and the egg inside was well done, definitely not sunny side up or even medium. I don't mind harder cooked eggs, but the whole effect was very dry, so I went to the counter to ask for some syrup. The server told me that he would have to charge me for it. I said fine, yes please, because my dish is so dry it's unedible without it. So he went back in the kitchen and did bring me out a small side dish of syrup (see also pic of that, for size). I had my credit card ready, but he said "this one's on me." I thanked him and sat down to eat. ... and yes, that syrup was just the trick to make the dish delicious! So this is the thing that makes a whole experience "meh" as opposed to "really nice": Between me & my hubs, our food and plain coffees were $42. (My friends paid separately for theirs.) For that price and just counter service, if a guest asks for a small side of syrup for the food, there should not be a side charge. I think the server who gave it to me realized that (but I would have paid it anyway because the meal was just too dry without it) ... But here's the thing - there was another staff member at the counter when my server gave me that little side of syrup. She heard him say "no charge this time," and her expression absolutely changed, and she looked mad that he did not charge me, and like she was about to say something (but didn't). Guess what? I absolutely saw that. And I totally feel like she was not only mad, but also that he might get reprimanded for it. (Might I add, we were also there when it was NOT busy at all, so there was nothing about the atmosphere that was rushed or hectic - although that souldn't matter, either.) And yes, of course when I went back to the table, I relayed that story to my other 3 companions. A little (little!) customer service goes a long way. And most importantly, it tasted absolutely nothing like whiskey. Mission accomplished. For starters, we ordered the Brie brûlée. I was a fan. The husband was...not. Here's how you do it: take a wedge of their freshly baked toasted bread, slather on some strawberry jam, dip that glorious situation into the pistachio-dusted Brie brûlée, eat, and repeat. And repeat. And repeat. I eventually had to intervene with myself. I ordered the beet and peach salad without the beets because, well...gross. The peaches could have been a little riper, but the salad was still really good. Nicely dressed, with candied pumpkin seeds and some kind of soft herbed cheese that pulled everything together. Very tasty, and thankfully no beets were harmed in the making of my dinner. Then came the meatballs. I have never in my life had meatballs that tasted like these, and I mean that as a very good thing. They were herbaceous, tender, with just a hint of sweetness. And somehow, they kept getting better as we ate them. Especially the ones at the bottom, sitting in all that sauce. DO NOT PASS THESE UP. The husband ordered the prime rib, which he rated an 8 out of 10. High praise, friends. This man does not hand out 8s like participation trophies. It's a small touch that makes the experience even better. If you order the wings, don't skip the signature sauce. We've become huge fans of it, and it's one of the reasons we keep coming back. Overall, it's a great spot to grab a drink, catch up with friends, and enjoy the patio. Next on our list is trying the giant pretzel, which is served with your choice of queso or mustard. Lots of sports playing on the TV. Limited nearby parking is a down side but some further away to walk. This time I tried the kids meal of 2 chicken tenders and plate full of homemade chips. Chicken could be crispier. It was just the right size for my dinner. Not wow by the food for the second time. Great service.
