We did their tour & cellar tasting, and it was a wonderful time. If you enjoy learning the behind the scenes of things you otherwise wouldn't get to experience, Bernhardt Winery offers the opportunity to tour their facility while tasting a couple of the wines you're learning about along the way. Nate was very knowledgeable and offered some interesting insight into just how much goes into making a bottle of wine, as well as some of the specific things they face in this specific region. Similar to the experience, the wine was fantastic. We got to try a few different kinds that were all very good. I was very impressed with the quality. From the Blanc Du Bois to the Vin du Soleil, they had wonderful tasting notes and an equally pleasant aroma. If you've got a free day, consider paying them a visit! Very well worth the time to stop on in. A great place to be whether you simply want a glass with a friend, or you'd like to learn more about the art of vinification. read more

Ambience is fantastic on Friday. Few guests and prompt, friendly service from a force of VOLUNTEERS. That's right whiners (pun intended), if you're unhappy with service, volunteer, and try to do better! Food is available but you can also bring your own basket. Wine is available for all tastes: mine, Bone Dry and Her's Sweet and Still. Amazingly both are satisfied with local vines! read more

UNeventful :( I signed us up for a chocolate making course for Sunday at 1 PM. Tickets arrived. We got all dressed up and drove over. Sign says, "Event Check-In" at a place where there are three doors. Door #1 employee: sorry, not here. Door #2 employee: Oops, this is an office, not here. Door #3 employee: Please go to the front where the tastings are. Walked over to that door, checked in (at the "tasting door" not the "check in" door). Then were told to walk across the pasture to another set of doors. Walked over, employees #5/6/7: "Can we help you?" ME: "Hi, we're here for class!" Employee #6: "Oh you're an hour early" Employee #7: "They had four classes but combined them into one." Employee #5: You can hang out for an hour if you'd like? NOPE. I would not like. I would like to have been informed :) Can we get a refund? Emp #5: "Sure, follow me." (stomp back across the pasture in heels). Walks into back, comes back out and says "You'll be refunded within 24 to 48 hours." ME: "Can I get a receipt please?" Emp #5: "No." Guess I'll just go home and organize a closet :( read more

As someone who has a few memberships at California Wineries, I am unfortunately a wine snob. I have yet to find a winery outside of California that has wines I would consider "good" or better. Most wines outside of California, France, Italy, and Argentina tend to be very sweet. I prefer a bold and dry wine myself. Save the sweet for the dessert wines. This winery was different. They have several wines I would consider good, and a few in the very good category. I actually left with a few bottles of the Bayou Blend, a blend of local red grapes that was very good and reasonable priced. We were at the winery for a wine tasting event that included vendors. The event was very enjoyable, and the grounds are really nice. There was a live band too to keep you entertained outside. We will return and I'm sure buy some more wine on our next swing through south Texas. Check it out for yourself. read more

What a lovely vineyard. When we first entered we were greeted and the gentleman guided us through the options and wine tasting options that were available. He was super helpful and pleasant. We opted to go directly to the bar and order to sit outside, next time we'll do the wine tasting. But the unoaked Chardonnay was his recommendation and it was most delicious. We ordered a bottle and went outside to enjoy the live music. This weekend in particular was the derby and they were having an event and the outdoor area was wonderful. The wine was great, crisp and refreshing. I also liked that you are allowed to bring your own food and this is something we'll keep in mind for the next visit. They also have tents and venders selling all kinds of good. A great outdoor space to enjoy a weekend afternoon. read more

This is our GO-TO vineyard! Whether it's during the week or on the weekend for live music and festivals- you're sure to enjoy yourself. The customer service is always warm and welcoming; here they make you feel more like close friends stopping by for wine light bites. My husband and I have been coming here for years, and our experience has always been peaceful and relaxing- a nice getaway from the noise and crowd. I love that it's family owned and ran, and often they're always adding something new. This year they've even added a brewery. The fall is my favorite time to come to truly enjoy the live music. The talented artists range from Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston tributes to Journey and even country music. There's plenty of open seating outside and optional indoor seating as well. Here you'll find lite bites such as shareable small and large charcuterie boards and hot sliders. When they have festivals you can expect more food varieties. Most importantly, THE WINE - they have a nice variety from dry to dessert wines. So you're sure to walk away with something you like. So come out, bring your friends and family! read more

Truly enjoyed a family outing to Bernhardt Winery on SH 105, just east of Plantersville. Nice pastoral setting just off the highway. Had booked a wine-tasting, and since an artisanal bread and craft festival was also advertised, decided to make an afternoon of it. Glad we did, although a tad disappointed to find no bread vendors at the festival! The visit started out being blustery and nippy, with the sun emerging a couple of hours later and warming up the area quite nicely. Mingled among the crafts, cosmetics, and food truck options, and purchased some items of cosmetics and jams/preserves - Copper the house Labrador proved to be a delightful companion! The live music by a lone guitarist/singer was wonderful. Since spots were available, we ended up on an earlier batch for the tasting. The offerings were exquisite, with the whites surprising us most pleasantly - Sunset and Pinelli were true standouts! The Grande Charcuterie Board was priced a tad high at $30, however. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable - Nate and others at the front desk, to Debra Jo and Lexie our hostesses; Bill's expert intervention in describing certain wines was most welcome. Even met Jerry, the owner, and had a pleasant chat. Ended the visit by joining the Soleil Club, and now looking forward to visiting again in 2026, and perhaps even staying for a night or so at the bed and breakfast above the winery. All in all an enjoyable family outing so close to Metro Houston. read more

Went with my wife to Bernhardt Winery as she and a very large group of her friends from Bunco all got together at Bernhardt Winery for drinks and a concert by a really good classic rock tribute band. There was nice seating out on the beautiful lawn area to watch the concert as we brought our own chairs and sampled what Bernhard had to offer with their wine selection. The wine was really good. We had a couple Pinot Grigio's and really enjoyed the flavor. This was a nice little winery and well worth returning to for further wine tasting/sampling and any other concerts they may have. read more

Came here for a Labor Day concert event because we were staying at the postcard cabins about 20 minutes away. The place was super cute with a lot of outdoor spaces and the concert area is covered, but there are parts that were wet because of the rain if you're sitting at a table, then that's great but if you're supposed to be on the ground on a blanket, then it's not that great because it is wood chips and mulch on the ground. If you want a regular drink, you have to go in to the store and then they have a separate area for beer and then they had a good food truck available. Parking was a plenty and getting there was no problem. Dogs are allowed which was great and the band was really pumping everybody up. read more

12.4.23 My hubby and I went to listen to some live music with a few wonderful couples from our subdivision. What a wonderful place and great company. It was a Bob Seger cover band. You can bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages and purchase alcohol from them. It was a little breezy when we went - we all just brought blankets and pot luck food. Several of our neighbors have been here before and said during the warmer months they have several food trucks and tons of people. We had a great time getting to know some of our neighbors, eating and listening to the music. This is a must go place. Look online to what musicians are coming and buy your tickets. (I think they are $20.) read more

I did wine tasting here and it was really fun. The lady and her husband were doing the tasting and giving us plenty of fun and interesting facts. We ended up joking the wine club because it seemed to be a good deal. I do wish they added more than 6 tastings per year. There was a lot of nice outdoor seating. The pizza was just ok, but great experience. read more

We came here June 28th to see a southern rock tribute band. My best friend and her son were visiting us from out of state and we wanted to do something fun. We paid extra and got a table for 8 to be comfortable and closer to the stage. The preview of the band online was great , but the sound was awful there. The food truck was good, but we were disappointed, since the website advertised having beer available, but they did not that beer that night. We only stayed for 3 or 4 songs , with the sound being so bad that night. We paid $200 to hear a terrible sounding band for 30 minutes or so. Really disappointed. Atmosphere was beautiful, the experience.....not so much. read more

What a cool, fun evening under the stars. Let's get one thing straight. This place is way out in the country! From my house in The Woodlands, it took 40 minutes to get there (we encountered traffic as we got close.) Parking was efficiently organized by a well-oiled team of parking attendants. Having said that, when you turn on County Rd 204, the scenery is picturesque, a painting of idyllic countryside. The Bernhardt grounds are beautifully manicured and warmly lit. The tables were arranged on an elevated plateau, so our view was perfect, although I don't think there's a bad seat to be had. We were blessed with lovely weather, and I love that you can bring your picnic. My friends and I enjoyed a lavish spread, and we purchased a bottle of crisp and refreshing Rose from the winery to enjoy. As for the entertainment, the 1999 Prince impersonator did not disappoint! I loved that the band was a group of real musicians! They are very talented! I also loved the star. Yes, he looked and sounded great. But he was also hilarious! He had a sharp wit and was just sooo funny. Very entertaining! I highly recommend this experience with a group of friends and/or family. read more

We went for the wine/charcuterie festival yesterday. It was our first time there. I really loved the feel of the ambience when we walked in. It was like being in Italy. Everyone was so friendly. We unfortunately saw it to buy tickets online, but it was worth the 5$ extra we had to pay at the gate. We got a complimentary glass and 6 pairing/tastings with our ticket. They provided water to wash your glass between tastings. The only thing that was bad was the heat. We would have loved to stay and listen to the live music, but it was just way too hot. I wish this event was a little later when the weather eases up. I think we will be back. Definitely looking forward to coming out when it cools off. read more

I would've gave this winery a 5 star review but service is such a big deal to me. This one young man who was working at the front was just something else. We just wanted to do a wine tasting here and when I mentioned it when we first entered I said we wanted to do a wine tasting or tour we just weren't sure as this was our first time and the artisan wine market flyer mentioned a tour so that's the only reason we brought it up. It just was our first time overall and it would've been nice to have some type of introduction to the vineyard and have the options shared with us. However not once did he mention their popular flights tastings they offer, he just immediately directed us to the tour which no biggie at first. However after we realized we didn't want to do a whole tour, as we seen people with just flights doing their own tasting and that's what we knew we more so wanted. When we went back up to the front the same young man just seemed so annoyed when we told him that we didn't want to do the tour. Which again we felt so bad but we just wanted to do a simple tasting. (Time restrictions) It was his tone and smart comments that weren't needed that followed and his overall body Language. He said "well you should've been specific when you first asked" because all he heard was "tour". At the end of the day it was just a misunderstanding and I wish the young man just made it seem that way but he was just rude. He really felt the need to be right and got really worked up about us not being "specific" it just wasn't even worth my energy to call him out on it either. It was a really hot day we wanted to just enjoy our first time and we knew it was just a misunderstanding but him as an employee didn't need to be so rude or pressed about being so specific. Like no sir. This was our first time you should've focused on the experience and explaining to us the different offerings the winery offered and not be rude that simple. Your an employee we were the customers. I would still go back and def would avoid this person but it was nice for a picnic date. They do have indoor seating as well to keep cool. They had one food truck when we went and a live band which was cool. I like the vibe here for sure I just wish the employees were a bit friendlier everyone seemed so bothered and annoyed. We didn't pay too much mind to it or let it effect our time so we just hung out outside sipped our wine and removed ourselves from any negative vibes I did go home with a wine Of course. I fell in love with the valentine sweet wine it was yummy! We did bring our own snacks too. read more

We are so thankful for the very accommodating staff at Bernhardt! We planned a surprise engagement for my sister using their loft above the winery and it was a huge success! The staff was so helpful with setup and offering to help in anyway they could. The beautiful ambiance of this winery was the perfect setup for the proposal! We even had an amazing wine tasting right before the proposal that was so much fun! The wine was amazing but the real star of the show was JoAnn! She was so personable and knew so much about the different wines and ingredients. If you plan on doing a tasting, ask for JoAnn!! Well worth it. Last weekend Daniel and I adventured to Bernhardt Winery. Unfortunately the vineyards were closed off but are blooming for people to see at a distance. I wouldn't say that the wine in Texas is amazing especially if your standards are Napa. But this winery is good for a local Texas winery. They had live music and even the opportunity to stomp grapes which they do twice a year. They also had a food truck and some other local vendors onsite. A wine flight was $10 and glasses were $8-$11 with bottles $22-$35 . They had a nice large outdoor area. So a good choice to visit if you want to get out of the city and visit a winery read more

We love Bernhardt. However we miss the sitting outside for the music events the new covered pavilion is hot!

We visited as a group for my friends' birthdays. We were a few hours late to our reservation, but they still accommodated us, which was super nice of them! We met one of the owners, and he welcomed us very warmly. We each had a wine flight of 6 wines - sauvignon blanc, rose, cabernet, merlot, blanco dulce, and blush. My favorites were the sauvignon blanc and rose! That surprised me, because I'm usually a red person. They also had a large charcuterie board for us full of cheeses, crackers, fruits! So thoughtful. It was rainy outdoors, but there are cute barndoors that made for cute group photos! read more

With that whole pandemic thing (and general busyness), we hadn't been to Bernhardt for a while, but were recently able to make a visit -- again, to one of their Sunday night concert events. These are still a great time. As a primarily red wine drinker, I was pleased to see that they have expanded their portfolio of reds significantly -- much better selection. I was also happy to see that Bernhardt must be doing well, because they had greatly increased the number of for-rent tables in the concert area. As our preference is to bring our own chairs and blankets, it's a bit of a negative, since the areas for self-seating have diminished in both quality and quantity -- but, again, I understand their need to make money, and support changes that keep this place healthy and viable. These Sunday night events are a great night out with a small group of friends -- give it a try... read more

A group of us went for a night out to celebrate a birthday. We bought several bottles of wine and some appetizers. There also food trucks that looked ok. We just had the chartcuterie boards. So, no input there. HINT: fill out the card to join the club before you get to the register. You will get 20% off and it's FREE. Our bill was over $200. So, this would have been nice to know, as the lady at the register just laughed and said "too late now" as you can't fill it out in line. A Beatles tribute band, The Fab Five, was playing. The location is nice. Parking was easy. The layout had plenty of lawn seating. But, even though we were there early, there didn't seem to be many seats with a view of the stage area. It's a relatively small venue, so you could hear just fine though. Crowd was very old, I mean ancient, and that is coming from an old guy! Not sure if it was directly related to the entertainment, or if this is the norm. Seemed more like the latter. Wine was pretty good. Food was as expected. Band was ok. If you're in the area, not a bad night out, tickets were only $15 each. But, would I travel just to go to an event like this here, probably not. read more

I wish I could give it more of a review. We got there early so we didn't get a chance to stay for the love acoustic show but we still had a great time. Awesome place to come and wind down. What a great time I had enjoying the Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks cover band Nightbird at the summer concert series at Bernhardt Winery. This place is a welcome venue in north Houston or Plantersville,Tx actually. The winery has its own vineyard on site which always ups the feels for a winery experience. Easy to get together, plenty of parking, fair pricing, great outdoor ambience. The Texas wines selection is enjoyable but if you are used to California wines you may be a little disappointed. Due to recent drought, previous freeze, California fires and shipping delays, white wines are limited but they say they are on its way. You order inside from a variety of grapes by glass or bottle cut you can "taste" wines before you select. Or you can order a flight of six wines for $12. They also have a small and pricey selection of charcuterie boards but you are allowed to bring your own food in, just not any outside alcohol. Plenty of outdoor seating and shade trees. I would recommend if you do the concert and get lawn seats, bring a chair and blanket for more location choices. The owner Jerry Bernhardt is really neat with his announcements for safety and his poetry readings and sunset toasts. Great guy! I can't wait to go back for another concert and a glass(or two) of their Black Zinnish .Salut! read more
