Who knew The Woodlands had a vineyard? Definitely not me. A childhood friend of mine celebrated a milestone birthday here and invited a bunch of our friends from high school and from her Baylor days. She had been wanting to celebrate here the past couple years, but the Texans were usually still playing, so she'd pick a brewery in Spring with TVs instead. The entrance is inconspicuous and is one way in/out. Parking is decent. You can take tours when in season. When we were there, there was a baby shower happening in the small barn-looking building and a cooking class on the covered patio. So, we sat outside in the cold with some sun shades covers. It was a huge, open area. The sun was out, so it wasn't too bad. They could use some outdoor warmers or a fire pit. You go inside and order wine and food. They had limited options and didn't have any non-alcoholic wines. They had water and soft drinks for NA drinkers. No charcuterie since they had so many different events happening. There were 2-3 people manning the bar, and they seemed a little unorganized or critical of each other's help. It was strange. I tried a few samples of their rosè, one Chardonnay and a sparkling before I settled on 2023 Laren's Wild Rosé with strawberry and rose petal undertones. I liked it because it was less dry than the other rosé. Other than the baby shower and cooking class, it wasn't very busy on a Saturday afternoon. There were a few parents letting their kids run around the area and on the stage. There was live music inside. Staff would come out to pick up wine glasses and serve the flatbread that some people in our party ordered. The pepperoni pizza looked good. I ate before I got there, so I didn't try. I particularly wouldn't return unless it was a family or friend celebration of some sort. While not a vineyard, there are other wine bars in the city that offer NA options, a larger wine selection and food. read more

Went there for a wedding reception and the place is nice but the service was not so much. At least 100 people there and they put out a table with appetizers for people to have but they quickly ran out after 20 people got there and when we ask for some more, we were told that we ate them all!? So that left the majority of the guest with nothing to graze on until dinner was served almost an hour later. Additionally the waiters and management were somewhat unorganized. Once dinner was finally served there was not any salad dressing for the salad so we had to ask for that also. This was my nephews wedding and we felt like that his new brides family did not get what they paid for. I would not recommend this venue. read more

Enjoyed a private Auburn Lakes community crawfish boil here. I have driven by this property many times. Going past the private gates/walls was a great experience. The property is beautifully maintained with a large pond, ample parking, beautiful indoor banquet hall, and great outdoor space for live music and entertainment. The staff on the premises were great too. The facilities are well maintained and clean. The preferred vendors serving wine and other adult beverages were also great and allowed for a great overall experience. I look forward to coming back in the near future. read more

This place is best known as a concert venue for tribute bands, but they have recently expanded their hours and food offerings. They are now open 2-6 on Wed-Sat on days when they don't have live music (they have live music every Saturday evening during concert season and some other nights too). We decided to give them a try for an early dinner on a day they didn't have music. The menu changes every week but some things carry over. We got the fried dill pickle spears, the Bacon Spinach Artichoke dip, the Classic burger with fries, and the Astros Elote flatbread (no longer on the menu), finished with apple cobbler, and got a red wine flight (3 half glasses). The fried dill pickles were great--a nice firm crispy breading that held up to the very moist pickles, and a tasty dipping sauce. Definitely recommend them. The artichoke dip was served with thick baked pita chips--held the dip really well but there were mixed opinions on them, the thickness made them a bit dry. The dip was mildly flavored, which was good for me because I'm not a huge artichoke fan but if you like a strong flavor you won't find it. The classic burger was just that, a burger with lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese and bacon. The patty is billed as a mix of brisket and short rib, and you can tell--the flavor is very good and the patty is tender. The fries may have been the best single item in the meal. They are lightly breaded and seasoned with a special mix, and are some of the best around. Any dish with those fries will be great. The flatbread was a unique dish for this menu. Roasted corn, queso fresco, chorizo and cilantro with lime. The chorizo had a mild heat to it. The flatbread was cracker-crisp, just how I like it. It ate a little dry, could have used a bit more sauce, but we were happy with it. The apple cobbler was a good representation--would have been better if served with whipped cream. Service was friendly and casual--we were the only ones eating at the time so no problem with attention. At the time we went the only seating option was the patio, and the only real shaded chairs with a convenient table were the tall bar ones. I am not an oenophile so I won't go into the wines--they seemed fine to me. The day was beautiful and the grounds are very attractive, a nice setting for a meal and conversation. The hours are awkward--a bit late for lunch, but early for dinner for all but the AARP crowd (I do identify here). Last call is 5:30 so don't push it. It's not a cheap place but in my opinion they can cook, and if the hours and weather work for you it's a unique choice. read more

Hmmm, I think I'm going to have to give this place another go when the weathers nice and you can actually sit outside in Texas. It has so much potential, but the day I went it seemed like a dud. The pics of the outdoor events look so much better than when I went. I had two wines: The Texas White & The Pink Horse. The white was more my style, but it was indeed soft and didn't leave much on the palate for me. The Pink Horse had a better profile, but was way too sweet for me. For a snack I opted for the Roasted Goat Cheese. It was just OK to me - nothing I get again and the bread wasn't toasted - it was ran across a grill that just left black char on the outside that made the flavor unappealing and distracted from the cheese. The cheese was also way overcooked and dripping in oil. The service was OK - but I was disappointed that multiple tables seemed to get samples and have discussions with the owners/staff, but never once was I checked on. My table was also dirty and they never came to wipe it off nor did they take away the empty wine glass. I loved the music, but it wasn't easy to hear. A better set up for singers/bands would be good if they are going to pride themselves on live music on Saturdays. read more

Just ok. Wines for the most part did not match up to the description and don't have much flavor. The exception being the Dolce Noir. The inside seating room is cavernous with little decoration except checkered tablecloths that give it an Italian restaurant vibe. This time, I was greeted by open gates and a beautiful fountain. I turned right and saw the building where they serve food and wine. I ordered the red wine sampler and the charcuterie board, which were the options that day. They were both delicious and I would order them again. They also have a membership program and gift baskets. Wild Stallion does not have near the intimacy nor the acoustics of Dosey Doe for concerts. You gamble on the weather and all they sell is their own wines which are not that good. NO liquor or beer. The food is expensive and average at best. Burgers are very greasy. Parking is great but the only seats that face the center of the stage is non covered general seating. The nicer covered seating is way off to the side of the stage. Overpriced for what you get. read more

I had the opportunity to visit this vineyard last Saturday. It was Harvesting Day. Even though I did not participate in the harvest, I did go and sample a flight of red wines. The Texas Tuscan was my favorite which I had a glass and then bought a bottle. The main room was family style seating with huge tables throughout. We sat with another couple who were just a cute as can be- newlyweds- that drove from The Heights for the experience of sipping fine wine in a vineyard. There was live music a one man band and he had the most amazing set list. They offered food items but we just decided to sip on wine. I am looking forward to going back when it is a little cooler so I can enjoy the courtyard and walk around the beautiful property. We visited on warm day with a friend. We ordered some appetizers, sat under a sun sail outside and sipped their Super Tuscan. The setting, food and wine were wonderful. We sampled some more wines. Their dry red wines are very good, nicely balanced and well rounded. Predominantly based on Sangiovese grapes, they are akin to chiantis or Super Tuscans. Perhaps some even shared flavors with Rhone Valley wines. We signed up for the wine club and waited for our first order. We went and picked it up. Again the wines were very good, but we felt we didn't want to continue in the club. Then we discovered the catch. WARNING: Unlike most wine clubs, WSV requires a year commitment to their club. When we asked to leave the club, they initially did not respond to our emails or messages. Eventually communications was established. After some discussion, WSV agreed to end our club membership. read more

Wine is so different for everyone, but we both really liked all our samples and would gladly come back for a glass or bottle of Texas Tuscan! Very smooth. My first visit to Wild Stallion Vineyard was for my office Christmas party with RE/MAX Elite Properties. The location is so lovely that I immediately thought of it as a venue for my daughter's bridal shower. We held our daughter's shower at Wild Stallion Vineyard last weekend. Lisa and Elyssa were very helpful in assisting with planning the menu and with setting up for our large group the day of the shower. The venue is a hidden gem, tucked quietly off Rayford and Gosling. The food is absolutely delicious, and the service couldn't have been better. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect coming here for the first time but I was pleasantly surprised! The grounds are nice and they have ample outdoor seating. Even though it's located in a populated area unlike many other wineries, it feels like a little oasis that allows you to temporarily escape from everyday life. The staff here was so welcoming and friendly from the moment we walked up to the outdoor counter. They explained each of their wines to us and their food menu. We both ordered a wine flight and you could pick any 3 wines from their menu. I opted for 2 white wines and their blush wine. They were all great but their blush was fantastic and I took 2 bottles home! For a snack, we ordered the Texas tango which is chips with salsa and queso. The chips are house made and both dips were very good! I will definitely be returning here in the future even though it's a bit of a drive from Houston. I wish they sold their wines to retailers, but since they don't, I'll have to make the drive to pick up more bottles! read more

After driving by many times we finally went at the recommendation of a friend to try this winery event. Luther and the Healers, a great blues cover band, was playing and there was plenty of good wine. The menu was small, but the food was good. There are mostly appetizers and flat bread everything was good, but the Fried Chicken tenders was surprising outstanding. We stuck to white wines and enjoyed the Moscato immensely. Pricing for everything was reasonable and the vibe was caused. positive and friendly. We will be back in the future if the event is attractive but the food and service alone will not draw us exclusively. This is to be expected from a new winery and I look forward to improvements as they grow. read more

I came here for a holiday party event and it was a beautiful venue. This place is 10 minutes from my house and it was the perfect place to throw a party. Although we drove in at night, the gazebo was lit up with beautiful lights and there was a beautiful pond that reflected the moonlight. They cater their own food and provide beer and wine and a bartender for events. There is a great outdoor area that would be great to have live music and there is an extra bar outside as well. The appetizers and dinner were buffet style and we had some great onion and brie tartlets, chicken potstickers, pork, delicious cranberry walnut bleu cheese salad, grilled vegetables, mac and cheese, fresh bread, chocolate cake, and bread pudding. They served some of their own wines at the event as well. The room fit 50 people quite comfortably. The tables were set with beautiful holiday decorations and set a warm tone for great conversation and merriment. I would definitely recommend checking out this venue if you are wanting to host a larger reception/party. It's local, it's beautiful, and they pay great attention to detail. read more

Gosh, where do I start. Nice grounds, ample parking, very pleasant personnel. Sunday brunch - let's see...started our brunch an hour after opening, approximately 30 items listed and only 24 were available. Lamb chops were truly hockey pucks, the egg benedict (one egg for each of us) had a solid yolk, frozen shrimp, etc., etc, inedible meal. The most egregious aspect of our dining experience was the $16 per person for bottomless mimosas that were served in a carafe. After we finished the first carafe among the three of us, we were told that we would have to buy another carafe. Bottomless??? The meal was a huge disappointment since we live in the area and were looking forward to future brunches and wine dinners at this location. Not us. read more
