My daughter had her wedding here. It was GREAT. I cannot say enough about the wedding coordinator Corrine. She worked with my daughter for a year helping and listening in what she wanted. Corrine worked very well with her. She was attentive and precise. Always nice and followed through on what they discussed. There were never surprises or misunderstandings. Thank you, Corrine, for making a very stressful time very enjoyable. I highly recommend this place. Easy to find and park. Very pretty, too.

-The WORST I have ever been treated by a business-…read more I have been on this planet for almost 37 years now and have never been talked to, policed by, treated-as-poorly or had my integrity insulted by a business like I was this evening. The premise is simple - if the party does not pay to have bar service then NO alcohol is to be on the premises. (All-good at face value. After all, they are a business and protecting themselves.) What was NOT good was how they went about policing people coming into the party (going as far as to check inside of new arrivals trunks to check for alcohol! I'm sorry, are you the police?) The bartender actually went as far as to - literally here folks - RIP a bag of liquors out of my hands while I was on the phone with my wife. (Uhh...EXCUSE ME?! Assault people much?) This was not the end of our playful trysts of the evening. When we asked her to have the booze back so we could keep it sealed and place it into our locked vehicles, she said that she couldn't do that due to the fact that the business couldn't monitor alcohol outside of the bar. "OK, well - that's my property and I'm going to go put it in my vehicle (again, also my property), where it can stay put and remain unopened." Again, she said she couldn't do that. "So, you're saying that I cannot have my property back?" "Yes sir. I'm sorry, but that is our policy - we simply do not have the staff available to follow individuals around the whole night to make sure they are complying with our policy." "OK! So then can you apologize for acting so rudely and unprofessionally, as to actually remove the bag from my possession while I'm having a conversation with my wife on the phone?! Or, is it too much for me to ask for an additional apology for insulting my integrity?" "Sir, I don't know why you are getting upset and rude with me." At this point I turn to my co-worker beside me and give him the look. [Um, I don't remember calling her any names or yelling or otherwise throwing a tantrum. I've been very calm and understanding up until this point.] "Ma'am, obviously there's been a miscommunication. But we're not being rude with you or upset, although now I'm beginning to become upset." Long story short, we talked with the head of our party, who spoke with the manager. Stephanie, the manager, gave permission for the alcohol to be moved into the bridal suite where there is a refrigerator. I then proceeded to move said liquor to the bridal suite. ---Fast forward 1 hour later--- Well the ceremony is done and it's a hot day. I'm headed over to the bridal suite to have a quick cocktail - not to leave the suite of course! - Only to find out that they had come back into the suite and...get this; STOLEN the liquor!!! No notice. No 'Hey, by the way, we needed to move the liquor in your suite for whatever lame excuse I can come up with.' NOTHING. I swear. It took everything I had at the end of the night not to throw a bottle through a plate glass window! The nerve of these people! I don't know how you could expect someone to have a decent experience when you treat your guests with such blatant disrespect!! So on the hospitality scale, I would give this place a -10. However, I'm sure that if you opt-in for the open bar then you'll have a good time. Provided no one in your party actually has to deal with the snooty-brat-turned-bartender; or has any civil misunderstanding with management. By the way, the view is fantastic! :)

Fast forward to my wife suggesting we visit a new Spanish restaurant - an idea I am down for approximately 124% of the time. Despite having only two reviews at the time of our visit, we ventured over the same say she suggested it. We were sitting there for at least half an hour, before my wife says, "this space used to be a different restaurant... something to do with a plane?" And then it hit me 1,000 MPH in the face. Wow... THIS was Plane & Level. Apparently all it took was a rebrand to get me to finally come here? Anyway, onto the food. We started off with the bread and it was insanely airly/light. The olive oil had a flavor that was slightly off, IMO, but the bread was excellent. 4.5-stars. Octopus: Octopus has such a wide range. Sometimes it's unbelievably great and sometimes it's so disappointing. This was the great variety. Well done, party people. 5-stars. Croquettas: I have never seen these made with salmon before, but I'm not complaining. I enjoyed them, despite my wife being really thrown off by the salmon part. I don't think I've ever met a croquetta that I've not liked. 4.5-stars. Paella: When I heard it was only $20, I was really excited. But be warned: this is the smallest portion of paella you'll ever see. And even though they were cooking it fresh on the spot, it was oddly not very hot when it arrived at our table. 3.5-stars. Empanadas: 5-stars for the chimichurri, but 4-stars overall. These were perfectly solid. You do not have one server here - it's a group effort. This is good because you are not ever left unattended to for long, but bad because you're always kind of unsure who to ask for things. A casualty of this arrangement is that they forgot our croquettas, but they were very nice to comp them at the end. I'd happily return again because there are not nearly enough Spanish restaurants in the area and we really enjoyed our visit.

From the planning process to the big day, everyone was kind, professional, and accommodating. That said, we do feel it's important to mention that the DJ company we hired from their all inclusive package (EC Entertainment) completely ruined every key moments of our day, including all the ceremony music, cocktail hour, grand entrance, and our first dance. Our assigned DJ was completely unprofessional. He had ample amount of time to fix the issue, call for help, or at least communicate the issue to someone after the ceremony and did not. Instead he went on with our grand entrance and first dance knowing the sound was completely screwed up. During our first dance he was crashing out, hands on head, pacing back and forth, not knowing what to do. If we could go back we would have been way more intentional in choosing a DJ. Music is such an important part of a wedding, we trusted EC Entertainment and they completely let us down. So many moments of our wedding that were supposed to be special were stolen from us. We will never get those back. No amount of apologies will fix it. Important to mention that our DJ also did not reach out to us for the first time until three days before our wedding. We would absolutely NOT recommend EC Entertainment to future couples, however we do wholeheartedly recommend Addison Woods as a venue. They handled the situation with grace, understanding and compassion. They did everything they could to make it right. They couldn't have known it was going to happen. Please learn from our mistake, do not hire EC Entertainment. Meet with other DJ companies and find your fit.

The site is beautifully maintained, with large oak trees & green grass, so it is easy to capture your picture-perfect moments. The reception hall has tall ceilings with an outdoor patio so it is spacious and airy. The staff here is so accommodating and everything ran so smoothly. We had a great time at this memorable venue!

We both ordered iced coffees and really enjoyed them. It's hard for us to find good ice coffee at a restaurant anymore. So that was impressive! The environment is awesome! I love how laid back and chill it is. They have so much to offer for kids and families. It's so nice to see a place like this really bring people together in an age where everyone gets absorbed in their work and phones. This seems like a great venue for a birthday party! My husband and I attended the Josh Abbott Band concert in November and LOVED it!! They did such a great job as a concert venue! It's easily our favorite place to see a show. They had conveniently located pop up bars, good food trucks, and plenty of bathrooms. The area is spacious enough to spread out on the lawn, but it was also easy to be up close to the stage. The owners even hosted a concert after party inside with music and dancing. We had such a good time and can't wait for the next one!

There was no bartender so the mixed drinks on the menu were not an option. But things happen and being short staffed happens. The wait staff were all friendly and food came out in a timely manner. There were several little things - like the lotion on the cabinet was used and empty. Coffee cup lids in the room didn't fit the cups in the rooms. Small irritating things but nothing to ruin your day. But the big issue was that the shower was filthy. Looked like some type of bodily fluid was smeared on the wall. It's gross, but again, things happen. We requested it be serviced the morning after we arrived but were told the rooms were only serviced every other day and today was not the day. I nicely clarified that surely since the room was not clean at check- in, the products on the sink were used and such, that it could be cleaned today. Nope. That said, it shouldn't take anything away from the excellence offered by this hotel. COVID protocols were definitely in place which was fine with me. Masks and social distancing were required. Staff: Very welcoming, efficient, professional and polite. Services: I suspect that the gym and pool were probably closed due to COVID as I didn't see anyone using either amenity. This was the case at the hotel we stayed at the night before and I have to say that I don't quite get it. It strikes me that you can socially distance and mask up in both places. Oh, well. The Courtyard by Marriott had ample parking and it was free. I often use Hotwire to book my hotel stays and before I got wise, I'd get a wonderful deal that turned out to be not so great when paid parking was factored in. My advice -- always list free parking as a must have! The room: Bright and so very clean, and the king bed was delightfully comfortable. But let's go back to bright. The lighting in this room was actually adequate to the point of being able to read a book or newspaper without eye strain! It happens to be a major pet peeve of mine that so many hotels never have enough light, even with every single lamp and overhead light turned on. Both bedside tables were equipped with plugs and USB ports. Yay. We had a microwave and small fridge and a fully equipped coffee service. You might well wonder why this is even a thing, but at the last place we stayed, the coffee service was decidedly lacking. The Courtyard had an interesting feature that I'd never used before. The television remote was bagged up in plastic, having been sanitized, I guess, but the hotel offered a service by which you could use a QR code that allowed you to use your smart phone as a remote -- really spoke to my inner nerd. I don't think my husband was as impressed so the remote was used, too. Another good thing TV-wise, lots of choices on what to watch. The bathroom: Super clean and very well laid out. The shower was set up so that the showerhead was on one end and the control to turn the water on was on the other. Imagine being able to get the water at the desired temperature without being doused in freezing/scalding water. They provide shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner via pump bottles in the shower and everything was high quality and smelled great. Another thing about the layout that worked well was having a towel on a shelf in the shower area so that it could be accessed without getting out. The towels were nicely absorbent and there were plenty of them -- another "yay" in my book. The Courtyard by Marriott Springwoods Village appears to be pretty new so that could explain, in part, why the property was so attractive, but I don't think it does completely. My impression of the staff was that they really seemed to enjoy working there and understood what the hospitality industry is all about. My apologies for not taking pics. Bad me, but my niece took this one in the lobby bathroom. It made me smile.
