We went to dinner on Sunday, and here's what I found. An excellent interior with tablecloths, pleasant music, and well-laid-out tables. We went as a family of four, and none of us was disappointed. Excellent food and dessert were a dream, so were the chips and salsa. We had tacos, enchiladas, and an excellent selection of vegetarian options. The service was also excellent. The ambiance was romantic, and the service was attentive. It's a great place for a nice date night, or with a group of friends, or to bring the family. The inside decor is great, like an upscale high-end steakhouse. And the price is extremely reasonable, This place is worth a try. Hand down much better than Gloria's.

Shane, the manager was also so friendly and he recommended the street tacos. My husband got those and I ordered the crispy tacos. The food came out hot and fresh! The tortillas are homemade too! Everything was delicious and we want to come back and try more!!! The service was excellent and I highly recommend Oscar! He was fun and friendly! Very attentive. The bathrooms were very clean too!

It was an incredible joy to taste the best fried plantain in all of Texas, and it came with some yummy spicy dip and green herbs dip with! So different so exotic! We ordered the corn smoked crab fingers as an appetiser, and the spinach and beef empanadas. We weren't too hungry and just wanted to try the appetisers before we ordered big meals. The atmosphere seems like it is supposed to be romantic, the reason for the red, although I'm not fond of the color AT ALL, the atmosphere was nice. Oh my goodness the smoked crab fingers were quite a surprise! I always knew crab could taste like this but could never find it. Yummy portions of deliciously flavoured crab. Oh my goodness I just had the most flavourful margarita I've ever had in my whole life, the Petia I think it is called! They put a salt around the rim that is not just regular salt, it is an explosion of spice in your mouth like fireworks. The spinach empanada was incredible. They had the best Yucca I've ever had in all of the US! Best meal ever in the United States. The service was incredible, everyone is so nice here, but genuine. This place is an EXPERIENCE and well worth the money. Shalom!

La Guantanamera - Cuban Oxtails with rice/peas and plaintains

Made it here late February as I was visiting a friend in Spring. With his location near the…read moreGosling food truck park, we ventured back here to try some other trucks and see what they got. Noticing Cuban eats with this truck, I decided on the Cuban oxtails special with the plaintain chips and rice/peas (beans) made. The oxtails were tender greasy and came of the bone very easily. Rice and peas had good flavor and the plaintain chips had nice texture with a touch of sweetness. It's pricy at just under $30; but that's due to oxtail prices increasing over the years. Of course I prefer to pay less but who wouldn't? Other menu items include cuban frijoles, salads, pastas, pastries, pizzas, and rice dishes. Not sure of the schedule for this truck as there's been times at this park where I didn't see them open. Good thing I caught them on the last Sunday in February. Definitely will try the other items when I'm back here. Gosling food truck park comes through again!

I had been meaning to try this food truck for some time and finally caught them open. I got a…read moredinner platter with shredded beef, beans and rice, some plantains, and a side salad. The shredded beef dish is absolutely the best Cuban food I have ever had. The beef was moist and tender, and beautifully seasoned. Just the right amount of fat for good mouth feel. The rice and beans soaked up this flavor and made the dish complete. I would eat this again anytime. The plantains were well cooked and a nice semi-sweet complement to the meal. The salad was lightly dressed and was also a good complement. The truck is one of the less flashy ones in the Plaza De Los Food Trucks, so you have to know the food and want it. I found their menu a little confusing--it lists all the components of a plate separately, and it's not clear how you would build a combo. Our server that evening did not speak English and our Spanish is not that good, but she got her husband on the phone and everything went well. They are very polite people. The menu lists desserts but they didn't have any that evening. I would look forward to trying them another time. I definitely want to pay another visit, perhaps to try the pork platter or the paella (not listed on the menu).

Top notch! I've…read moreordered takeout here twice and both times were an excellent experience. Why excellent, you much ask? Well, the first time we were having ice cream at Handel's and was drawn in by how amazing the food smelled. We placed an order at the hostess stand. The young lady was great. My father in law like to makes people laugh at any opportunity. She was so much fun, she even made jokes as a reply. It's nice to see someone who is lighthearted and personable. The second time I ordered was through Yelp using Grub hub. I ordered crawfish as a part of my order. Shortly after placing the order, I received a call from the GM to notify me that they are no longer selling crawfish as it's out of season. He quickly offered to substitute, which I quickly opted for the beef taquitos. Shorty after the call, my order arrived. The food was exceptional! 5/5 Charro Beans- A must try if you like any type of beans. The flavor was so delicious and well developed. 5/5- Guacamole- freshly made to order! It was so fresh, no need to add a thing, we just opened it and enjoyed. Every element was so fresh, from the tomatoes, to the cilantro and lime. 5/5- Wings- Where should I begin? I ordered the lemon pepper/hot with the crema dipping sauce. They were cooked perfectly, not over or under cooked...simply perfect. 5/5- Beef taquitos- Delicious, the beef was flavorful and will be an item I order every time I visit. The addition of the toppings complete the perfect bite. Lettuce tomato and crema coupled with the perfectly fried tortilla was outstanding.

-The WORST I have ever been treated by a business-…read more I have been on this planet for almost 37 years now and have never been talked to, policed by, treated-as-poorly or had my integrity insulted by a business like I was this evening. The premise is simple - if the party does not pay to have bar service then NO alcohol is to be on the premises. (All-good at face value. After all, they are a business and protecting themselves.) What was NOT good was how they went about policing people coming into the party (going as far as to check inside of new arrivals trunks to check for alcohol! I'm sorry, are you the police?) The bartender actually went as far as to - literally here folks - RIP a bag of liquors out of my hands while I was on the phone with my wife. (Uhh...EXCUSE ME?! Assault people much?) This was not the end of our playful trysts of the evening. When we asked her to have the booze back so we could keep it sealed and place it into our locked vehicles, she said that she couldn't do that due to the fact that the business couldn't monitor alcohol outside of the bar. "OK, well - that's my property and I'm going to go put it in my vehicle (again, also my property), where it can stay put and remain unopened." Again, she said she couldn't do that. "So, you're saying that I cannot have my property back?" "Yes sir. I'm sorry, but that is our policy - we simply do not have the staff available to follow individuals around the whole night to make sure they are complying with our policy." "OK! So then can you apologize for acting so rudely and unprofessionally, as to actually remove the bag from my possession while I'm having a conversation with my wife on the phone?! Or, is it too much for me to ask for an additional apology for insulting my integrity?" "Sir, I don't know why you are getting upset and rude with me." At this point I turn to my co-worker beside me and give him the look. [Um, I don't remember calling her any names or yelling or otherwise throwing a tantrum. I've been very calm and understanding up until this point.] "Ma'am, obviously there's been a miscommunication. But we're not being rude with you or upset, although now I'm beginning to become upset." Long story short, we talked with the head of our party, who spoke with the manager. Stephanie, the manager, gave permission for the alcohol to be moved into the bridal suite where there is a refrigerator. I then proceeded to move said liquor to the bridal suite. ---Fast forward 1 hour later--- Well the ceremony is done and it's a hot day. I'm headed over to the bridal suite to have a quick cocktail - not to leave the suite of course! - Only to find out that they had come back into the suite and...get this; STOLEN the liquor!!! No notice. No 'Hey, by the way, we needed to move the liquor in your suite for whatever lame excuse I can come up with.' NOTHING. I swear. It took everything I had at the end of the night not to throw a bottle through a plate glass window! The nerve of these people! I don't know how you could expect someone to have a decent experience when you treat your guests with such blatant disrespect!! So on the hospitality scale, I would give this place a -10. However, I'm sure that if you opt-in for the open bar then you'll have a good time. Provided no one in your party actually has to deal with the snooty-brat-turned-bartender; or has any civil misunderstanding with management. By the way, the view is fantastic! :)
