As a 100% outdoor activity event center located in a flood-prone area, you'd think they'd have a plan. I don't blame the weather on them, but I do expect that they figured out how to create the best experience in spite of it, hours and days before, rather than just shrug and go, 'oh well'. The weather forecast was VERY confident that heavy rain would be there 24+ hours before - all local channels, Space City Weather, Jeff Lindner - it was a SURE thing. For example, bring the food under the tent BEFORE the time we were supposed to be eating, instead of wasting 45 minutes trying to rig a 'path' so we don't get wet waiting in line, even though the biggest problem there was water pooling and mud. The restroom is about a football field away from the only covered area we could remain, so they should have rented a port-o-potty to be closer, or have those plastic sidings to their golf carts to assist people in the mud and rain. Props to the Sheriff's Deputy that seemed more customer service oriented than the staff - he was telling us what was going on and seemed like he wished he could do more. Meanwhile they said they had a lot of staff milling about because the outdoor activities were canceled - not sure why they weren't pushing all the standing water out of the tent, or passing out food, etc. The store bought cookies they brought out were an after-thought, because they canceled the pre-arranged Funnel Cakes but didn't tell anyone. There were so many things canceled or cut short that still could have been managed with some preparation - like more tent siding they could drop down to stop rain from coming under the smaller tent. The food was good, but there was so little of it! I don't think they served the amount that was paid for, we ran out of some things. I can tell they're used to handling young kids, because they were treating us grown adults like we only eat 2 small pieces of brisket, 3 sausage slices and 2 tablespoons of potato salad! I was excited about the petting zoo - I'm sure the animals were safe inside a barn away from the rain. Again, if they had their golf carts prepped for rain, they could have offered to drive us back and forth to see them. There's a lot of risk mitigation that needs to be learned for an event facility such as this - if your event is expecting rain, cancel or reschedule!

I was looking for a banquet room venue for my daughter's sweet 16 party in December. I reached out, and they confirmed that the date I was interested in was available. I let her know approximately how many people and expressed interest in using her catering services. My daughter chose steak and potatoes, and I wanted to add a large charcuterie board. I was told that someone would get back to me in a few days with a quote price. I never heard back, and it's May. My husband brought up a good point thinking that there were probably a lot of big company Christmas parties in December, so my little party was probably not a priority booking during thst busy time. I get it, if that's the case. It's just not good to tell someone you will get back to them in a couple of days, then don't. It's May 3rd. Luckily, I found another place I like even more in Waller County to have her party. I understand choosing priority bookings, but I don't understand not following up at all, even if it is to tell me that my date was no longer available.

She takes her time to answer any questions that you may have and you can tell she pours her whole heart into this nonprofit organization. During the pandemic they don't do as many tours a day, so make sure you book in advance. I came one Sunday morning with my family of 10 and she reserved the whole tour just for us, what a treat! Robin used to be a teacher so she's provided us with very educational information about the animals that live on her ranch. She takes her time and explain and shows us how to care for each animal. You get to be hands on and touch every animal there, which I really enjoyed and appreciate! There were turtles, rabbits, turkeys, ducks, goats, pigs, and the main attraction of course are the llamas and alpacas. This place is really one of a kind and is so special. Freest experience for the whole family that adults and children can enjoy and make some memories. Oh, and did I mention they have 2 Airbnb on their ranch where you can wake up to these animals? What a neat idea!

I scheduled mine and received 7 reminders via email I responded confirming my appointment via text and email the day before and no one was there. I called Caroline, the person I had scheduled the appointment with and she was to busy to answer per her text. So we communicate it via text. I was surprised to find out that I had to confirm 2 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. Please update your system to indicate that. I, to have a busy schedule and family yo attend to. The hacienda de las Flores in Hockley Tx is also very neglected, of course the pictures are better. Horses are being neglected without a drop of water, even if ther are not the owners, no animal should suffer. Gladly to say,I will not be spending my money here. We combine old-world hacienda-style living with modern elegance and amenities to create one of the most unique wedding or quinceanera experiences in all of Texas. Whether you celebrate under the stars in our open gardens or in our spacious main salon, you are sure to enter as a stranger and leave as a friend! This is what they promised me last year when I visited their establishment in search for my daughter's quinceanera venue. Although still under construction Ms. Hilda Flores was able to walk me through explaining every detail giving me a visual that convinced me to book a date. I was so captivated by her warmth and enthusiasm that I trusted that she would have the venue completed in time for our event. Now a year later, they continue to amaze me with new additions every time I visit to check on the status. She is always welcoming and inviting, just as excited as day one to show us around. I took a gamble and put my money on her, so far I am not sorry. Can't wait for our plans to become a reality.
