We had the regular size Brussels sprouts (generous portion), grilled chicken Dillionaire w/house salad, crispy chicken Flyin' East w/waffle fries - everything was very delicious. I felt the Flyin' east had a tad too much sauce on it, but easily remedied. Salad was fresh, waffle fries excellent, crispy and well seasoned. So many things to try on this menu. The only downside was that it was chilly so a bit uncomfortable.

She would always ask if I needed anything, how I was doing and even brought me a box right away when I said I probably wouldn't finish the pancake as opposed to waiting until my bill arrived. This is your normal standard family restaurant. Lots of elderly are here and it's due to the classic homestyle cooking and easy parking lot. The bad: when I entered, the sign said wait to be seated and so I did. They have 1 person running the register which does clog up because when you are done eating here, you walk up and pay. This caused confusion into who is waiting to be seated vs. paying. I stood around for 10 minutes before a staff member offered to help. Staff should know who is coming and going but I have compassion when it gets busy. I pointed to the sign and said is it seat yourself? The staff member looked confused so I told her that I have been waiting on a table. It shouldn't take 10 minutes to iron out customers. Recommendations include another staff member at the front to control new walk ins to mitigate confusion or better attention from the staff at the register. The ugly: I thought I left my wireless mouse there as I worked from my computer. When I called to inquire about my missing item, the staff member was rude , she put me on hold after I stated my reason for calling and said she needed to help another customer. When she came back on the line, she proceeded to not really care about my ask, couldn't hear my ask correctly in the first place and then asked where I was sitting. This was such a turn off for me. Food is a 4. Service is a 2.5.

I will definitely return as I want to try some of the pancake and French toast options. Thank you, Marge's Diner, for being so accommodating and not trying to be anything fancy. We were waiting by the host stand when the hostess came up, followed by who I assumed was the manager on duty, all in a huff. Instead of a basic, professional welcome, we were snapped at: "It's going to be about 20-30 minutes to seat you, we are understaffed and very busy!" No apologies, no "Hey, please understand we are understaffed at the moment, if you like, please grab a drink at the bar and we will get you seated ASAP." The bar area seemed to be the only open section, and that was half-full at best. As someone in the industry, I get staggering tables, but to be so b*tchy about it is unacceptable. With both a street fair and the Bison game happening that same day, management should have expected that level of business and staffed accordingly. It wasn't our fault they were understaffed, and taking that frustration out on guests is a terrible way to make an impression on out-of-towners or locals alike!
