Chicken dumping soup, potato soup & salad, delicious homemade bread & rhubarb dessert

Delicious homemade food! I spent a lot of time in Fargo while my grandpa was in a stroke rehab and boy was I thankful to have found cracked pepper! Eating out every meal can be can be rough (both on your health and your pocket book) so finding good food at reasonable prices was a blessing! I picked up lunch there almost every day and love stopping there whenever i am back in Fargo.

Absolutely love this little lunch spot! It's tucked away in a strip mall, very small but super cute, and the staff is as fantastic as the food is! This isn't your fancy-schmancy elitist fine dining establishment: this is good quality, homemade (seriously, just like Grandma made!), fresh, delicious and reasonably-priced comfort food enjoyed in a comfortable, homey atmosphere. Cracked Pepper's menu selections change daily but they always have some type of sandwich/soup combo, salad, and hot item of some sort. Their very "North Dakotan" menu features classic MidWestern items such as the ever-popular Tater Tot Hotdish, Knephla soup, meatloaf, as well as some excellent paninis, wraps, salads and soups. And their desserts make me want to lick the plate, every. single. time. I've never been there on a Saturday morning, but they do have "brunchy" dishes served those days in addition to regular lunch items. Another plus is that they post their menu daily on their blog, http://crackedpepperdaily.com/. It may sound corny, but I truly feel like every dish is made with love! Cracked Pepper is definitely a hidden gem in the F-M area! TRY IT!!

Bacon cheddar broccoli egg bake which came with fruits and really yummy apple fritter bread.

Cracked Pepper is such a random spot, but it's pretty good! It has such a pleasant, homey, feel. It looked like there were family members hanging out and just walking in and out of the kitchen. It added to the character of the place. This is one of those places where you order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. I ordered a broccoli bacon cheddar egg bake. It was good and filling. I just wish it had a little more cheese and bacon flavor. It wasn't quite as good as I was expecting, but not bad at all. I LOVED the apple fritter bread that came with it. It was so delish. The dish also came with fresh fruits. The meal as a whole was great- a good combination. Even though the egg bake didn't meet my expectations, I still give 4 stars partly because of the apple fritter bread and partly because of the laidback, relaxing environment. I just felt so satisfied and nourished after my experience there. It's a feel-good place.

This was our 4th or 5th (?) meal there, and yes, making a reservation is important. One of the draws for us is the very pleasant, personable, helpful staff. We've enjoyed getting to know Pol, and last night we were pleased to again smile at Nathan's warmth. The other attraction is the very tasty food. Quality pastas are in variety, and there are intriguingly unusual "tonight's specials." The soups also are unique and worth coming for themselves. We were pleased to learn that S.W. has found a new, larger space a little south on Broadway. We'll bet that reservations will still be a good idea, and will be making them. Thanks, S.W. Best wishes. It's small inside, but not matchbox small, with western movie posters tastefully decorating the walls and giving the space a fun, cozy atmosphere. Service was super friendly, and even with how busy they were, we never felt rushed. We decided to order two of the specials that night: a truffle spaghetti and a fish dish. Both were incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked. We finished things off with a pistachio cannoli, which was also delicious. Street parking was easy to find this time of year, although we ended up walking over from our Airbnb. Definitely a fun find in Fargo!

The space was clean and the staff were attentive. I then made my way over to the bakery and restaurant side. The signs make it very clear to understand the breakouts. If you are ordering pastries and coffee you will be on one side, whereas, if you are looking to order off the menu with full service, you will be on the bar side. Nichole's is a well oiled machine. The setup is easy to navigate and the concept is unique. Blending pastries, coffee, cakes, cooking products, wine, breakfast, lunch and dinner into one space is magnificent. I loved my intimate dine in session ordering the avocado toast on sourdough bread with an over hard egg and an orange hot tea. It was the perfect blend and was the best avocado toast I ever had. My belly was far too full after brunch so I went to the bakery side after and bought a chocolate raspberry muffin (also the best muffin I've ever had), chocolate chip cookies (darn near ate them all in one setting) and poppyseed thumbprint cookies with a raspberry filling (jaw dropping). There are so many more products to taste and see so I highly recommend a visit. I totally look forward to my return in August so I can dabble more with pastries and get into the espresso world too. Thank you, Nichole's!! Glorious all around. Bravo!

And maybe I just picked the wrong sandwich, cuz the flavors truly didn't do it for me. But also the white bread they put the fixings into really detracted from the overall flavor. Blehhh. Still though, high rating from me because the establishment was really swanky on the inside, lots of clean spacious seating. A patio as well to eat outside. Soda fountain had some flavor shot options. The employees were all friendly and attentive. Clean restrooms (though they were individual stalls and gender segregated for no reason...). Also the pricing was a little steep but not horrid by today's exorbitant standards. Paid $11 for a 6"er.

The potatoes were COLD, DRY, and had a weird seasoning, which they shouldn't have been cold or dry because I requested them as a side. The gluten free bread WAS good, and I will say it would have been a decent deli sandwich, maybe like an Italian sub or BLT, but that bread as a breakfast sandwich...holy bread! I should have bought a baguette at Walmart and saved my $10+ on a piece of bread with a limp piece of bacon, enough egg to feed a family of 10, and a piece of cheddar cheese that wasn't even melted. This place was SO disappointing and I left starving - didn't event finish my food and should have asked for a refund. Sandwich and potatoes were absolutely disgusting - dry, cold, flavorless. I know this isn't the east coast where deli sandwiches are superiors, but cmon. there's better quality found at McDonald's. I'm not a particular person and I cannot just emphasize enough how gross and disappointing this was. Service was fine, they were nice and as expected. Ambiance was like that of a subway, not a mom and pop type of restaurant.
