One of my co-workers says this is his favorite restaurant. I can see why. Outstanding turkish food…read more Super tiny restaurant with only like 4 or 5 tables. Super tiny parking lot that only has a few spots, but plenty of street parking nearby. Inside is clean enough, but definitely doesn't sparkle. You can see the kitchen with the giant gyro rotating on the roaster. They do tons of takeout business. If you want to dine in for dinner, then I suggest arriving around or before 5 because the place fills up fast. Otherwise, be prepared to wait for a table. My co-worker tells me that the best thing to get is the special. So that's what I always get, and I never ever regret it. Special is the way to go. You get a nice variety of meats, garnished with onion and tomato, and a side of rice and flat bread. It comes out sizzling on a hot, shallow wok-like tray. It always comes with chicken breast chunks, shavings of gyro meat, and then whatever else he's made for the day. One on occasion, it was chicken quarters, lamb, and a sort of stewed beef. On another occasion, it was filet mignon, strip steak, and something else I can't recall. Generous portions, as it feeds 2-3 people. Great value. The chef/owner really cares too. One time, we were pressed for time, so we only ate a bit and asked for to-go boxes and a check. He had a very concerned expression on his face and asked if the food was alright. I assured him that it was great, but we needed to go to an appointment. Sometimes there's only 1 person working there (chef/server/cashier/busser). When that happens, don't be shocked if things aren't blazing fast. Be understanding, and support small businesses. This easily qualifies as a hidden gem.

We've been here twice so far, but always look forward to coming back. We've tried different versions of the Sultan's platter. The Döner is the best I've ever had as it is perfectly seasoned and thinly cut almost making it melt in your mouth. The chicken, köfte and steak is all so well seasoned and when paired with the yogurt sauce and red vinegar hot sauce combo is the ultimate pairing! The rice was very soft and absorbed any flavors left on the plate. It just soaked it all up. The pita bread was always warm and fresh which went great with the meat! The salad and veggies are always fresh and crisp so there's really nothing to complain about. Teşekkürler!

The…read moreowner's wife served me and I had the menimen, a coke (I had too much coffee already) and a sobiyet for dessert. I had seen someone a couple of months ago eating the menemen and she recommended it. The Menemen came in a brass serving dish bubbling hot and smelling wonderful with a nice piece of toasted baguette on the side. The dish has peppers, onions, tomatoes, two poached eggs and lots of cheese and spices. It was absolutely delicious, I can't quite identify the spices, but the whole dish was tasty and filling. I would have licked the dish clean if I were at home, but I wasn't going to embarrass myself in public. This will be my new brunch item in the future. Sobyiet is baklava with a creamy cheese filling and I could eat 6 or 7 if I wasn't watching my weight. Normally, I would have turkish coffee but as mentioned earlier I already had too much coffee at home that AM. I like to eat here about once a month when I'm in the area and I love the place. The people there are very pleasant and helpful and will offer samples. Many of the other patrons are Turkish and go there with children for brunch. It's worth a stop to try cuisine not nornally seen in Denver.

I had an amazing dining experience at Safta!…read more The wine list is well curated, both the BTG and bottle list was impressive. We chose an Areni wine, the Yacobian Hobbs. I was excited to try after watching a documentary on the Somm channel about that specific winemaker. The wine was delicious. Additionally, I was so happy to see small boutique wine from the Santa Barbara area like Amevive and A Tribute to Grace. Our server Yvonne guided our menu choices thoughtfully and enhanced our experience with excellent service. We started with watermelon feta salad with baby cilantro, walnuts, and harissa oil. The watermelon was cool, sweet, and crisp and the flavors balanced perfectly. If you are a pickle lover you must get the pickles. I think I will be dreaming of them. The pickled cabbage, okra, califlower and snap peas were just the best! The pitas were puffy, but not hollow, and warm. There was also an olive oil dipping sauce that complemented everything. Star of the show for me was the forgaged mushrooms and hummus. These were the most delicious mushrooms and snoothest hummus I have ever experienced, and I think there might be magicians in the kitchen. Our other dishes were cabbage and eggplant. Both taste explosions, done masterfully with a sauce, color and texture. This food is truly incredible, highly recommend. I am in Denver for work, anytime I travel back to Denver I will for sure return to Safta.

Coffee was fine but they gave such a large cup and it got cold right away and we felt bad for asking for refills when we still had a good amount left but cold. Lines weren't bad at all on a Sat morning. Basic American fruit/yogurt, bread, pastries. Deviled eggs. Prime rib was good The different types of sauces like baba ghounash, hummus, etc-- those were all really good mixed together with pita bread. Mediterranean salad was good. Cabbage was meh this time. No honeycomb this time :( :( :( I did not like ANY of the desserts. Neither did my partner. So I just had normal fruit/yogurt for dessert which seemed wasteful. Everything else was kind of just meh to me. Not worth the $65/person (with tip and tax). They also include a 5% surcharge on the bill.

We were the first ones in and beat the dinner crowd. The lentil soup was different than what I'm used to since it was blended. It was a delightful version! Our waiter kept checking back despite the rush. What a wonderful place

The menu has many classics including gyros, shawarma, kabobs, and the fresh pita bread is a home run. Chicken tika masala 9/10 The pictures can't describe how creamy the sauce was. So rich in color, deep with flavor and the filled with chicken chunks. Of course, you have to dip the fresh baked pita bread into this to appreciate how amazing it was. Gyros 9/10 The gyro plate was more of a platter loaded with beef and lamb. The spices on the meat were so delicious and cooked to perfection. Every bite was balanced with the coolness from the hummus and lightness of the rice. We were treated to a sample of the Turkish coffee. Wow, I was pleasantly surprised how light and aromatic it was. Not bitter or burnt.
