The salmon sashimi was very fresh. We ordered multiple bento boxes and they were massive. Not enough sauce and too much rice. Overall decent and worth the money. read more

I am so excited that they now have new sushi menu. I went there to grab teriyaki and saw their new sushi bar, so decided to try their sushi. I got few pieces of sashimi and tako wasabi. The sushi was very fresh and I really enjoyed tako wasabi (my favorite !) They used to have only few sushi menu but now there's wide variety of fish and rolls. I always recommend my friends to try this place. read more

Bento World - Japanese Near Me - Seattle, Washington

This place is okay. The teriyaki sauce was not the best, but for $6 including tax for the chicken teriyaki it was a good value. They were very busy, but the food comes out fast. There are a handful of tables, but most people were getting their orders to go. Good place for a fast lunch, if you are tired of Subway. read more

Fast, friendly service. Very reasonable prices and you get a good size serving! The gal that runs the register is always very kind and can get a line of people served in minutes. There isn't much in the way of seating, but it's a great spot to grab n' go for lunch. read more

Bento World - Ckicken Katsu - Japanese Near Me - Seattle, Washington

This is one of my favorite teriyaki spots in downtown seattle. The staff is incredibly nice, and they have very generous lunch offers. A little advice: Lunch rush is pretty hard here so I generally like to come a little later in the afternoon. read more

Flavor/seasonings on point, great portions typically enough for 2 med sized meals from 1 dish. She got the beef beebimbop, I had the spicy chicken & beef teriyaki combo. Not a single disappointment. Friendly fast service! Water machine is very slow. read more

Bento World - Spicy chicken & beef teriyaki combo #6 with salad. - Japanese Near Me - Seattle, Washington

This place was tiny but it's in a location where the nearest subway or other lunch places are quite a walk away. So I came here during lunch and didn't think it was anything special - again my experience (I don't want you to take it in a negative way). I saw the yelp reviews and I was really excited to try this place and I tried to order my usual spicy teriyaki and chicken katsu, however, I was told that I had to pick one. So I picked Katsu and it tasted average and I was disappointed that I didn't get the sauce, instead sprinkled the sauce on the katsu. read more

The food is great for the value - tasty and large quantities for a reasonable price. I have been going here for a while but didn't review since I wanted to keep this spot off the radar. However, giving my feedback as I don't believe the current yelp rating is fair (a few unnecessarily negative reviews bringing this down). As an added benefit, the woman who runs the restaurant is spectacularly nice. It does tend to get quite busy during the weekday lunch rush. read more

The restaurant is tiny so I call ahead and get my orders to-go. The cashier is sweet and greets everyone w/ a smile upon entering. Portions are good sized; I always have leftovers. My go to here is chicken teriyaki w/ an occasional side order of tempura shrimp. My only complaint is sometimes it isn't piping hot temp wise. Tip, if you're not feeling rice, they place your teriyaki on a bed of shredded cabbage; it's a nice refreshing alternative especially if you order it spicy. I find myself there once or twice a month. Hmm, I'm craving Teriyaki for lunch today. read more

We ordered the shrimp tempura udon for delivery. When the dish arrived all of the soup, including the tempura, was packaged in a single container. The batter was mushy and floating around in the soup, and the tofu skin was disintegrating. The noodles were ok but by the time it arrived too soft. Definitely disappointed they couldn't take the time to package the dish properly before sending out. read more

Wanted to get a bento lunch while in Seattle. Read good reviews on Yelp. Decided to try this place. Daughter ordered the special bento combo which included chicken teriyaki, California rolls, rice, gyoza and salad. I had the shrimp tempura plate and ordered the California roll on the side. To sum it up, you get a lot of food for your money! Taste wise, it was okay. Would I go back there again? Probably not, only because my curiosity takes me elsewhere seeking better read more

Still my go-to when I cant figure out what to have for lunch. The udon is super yummy. The broth is rich and guaranteed to warm your belly on those cold days! At 7.99 for the chicken udon, it's so worth it! read more

Bento World - Chicken Udon - $7.99. They don't skimp on the chicken either! - Japanese Near Me - Seattle, Washington

This place is amazing. They got the best chicken teriyaki in town. Their katsoo and bento box are also delicious. In short I was never unsatisfied with the food there. read more

Just great. I love Bento World. Quick, easy service. Good relativity cheap food. Good location. I love waiting outside in the winter. Five stars no question. read more

I'm writing this review because it's long overdue but also because I want to help Bento World. This place is a little 'boîte'/hole-in-the-wall type place where there's only seating for about a dozen people, and most people order take-away. The food is fresh, and isn't instant, so you do have to wait as your entrée is made to-order for you. It's worth the wait. I've never had the sushi but I've had various noodle and rice dishes including their chicken teriyaki and bibimbap. They've all been good, tasted fresh and well prepared, and the lady who serves/cooks/cashiers is fast and friendly, despite the fact that she's the only one I ever see there, making her look like an over-worked army of one. The prices are reasonable (remember, she's paying downtown rent, even if it is a hole-in-the-wall), the portions are generous without being wasteful, and the quality is consistent. Sadly, I went to grab a quick bite on Friday Feb 17th, 2017, and saw that they were closed, and there was a sign on the door: "Dear Bento World Customers, I am sorry to let you know that I won't be able to open the restaurant till the middle of March. I recently got in a car accident and broke my arm. I will be closing the restaurant for about 6 weeks for my recovery and I will be back in business in the middle of March. I am sorry that I have to close the restaurant for such a long time. I really thank you for your understanding and I hope to see you back in March" There was a gentleman who came up to the door just as I was reading the sign and he did the expected 'aw man! I'm starving!!'. But then he expressed surprise that 'Surely she could hire someone!!??' Considering I never saw anyone else working there, I can't imagine upon whom she could have called at, quite literally, the last minute to just take over her livelihood and do so the way she'd want/need it to be done until she's recuperated. So, not only do I recommend this place, but I'm making a point to keep an eye on when it for when it's re-opened. I want to make sure I lunch there as much as possible once she's back so hopefully her life can get back to normal as quickly as possible. Good local businesses like this are worth keeping, imho, and I hope she's able to bounce back from this. Get well soon, Bento World!!! read more

Big portions, good prices. Taste is good. Not the most amazing quality ever or the best ingredients, but perfect for a quick and easy takeout read more

I've ordered from here a couple of times now and it was great both times! The first time I had the chicken teriyaki - it was as good as any teriyaki I've had. Second time I got the orange sushi roll, which was a california roll with orange masago. It was great! I'm a little bummed that they don't have edamame. It's definitely something I would expect for them to have. They also don't have eel sauce which is what I prefer to eat with my sushi. I'll definitely be back - extremely tasty food! read more

Sorry Bento World... you failed... I've never had teriyaki where they serve it with regular rice (Regular rice meaning the rice u get form chinese restaurants, usually the cheapest kind) and not Japanese Calrose Rice. So that was my first disappointment. IDK how people say this is the BEST teriyaki they've had in Seattle! REALLY? Toshio's, I LOVE Teriyaki, The ones in the mall, to name a few is a lot better than this place. The sauce was not really teriyaki, it was more a starchie sweet/salty sauce... if u're brave and want FRESH and not MICROWAVED meet, try the one on the corner of 1st and pike where a bunch of hoodlum and bums stands around. But that place, grill their chicken fresh... i know Bento world serves microwaved chicken because i can taste it and i was standing by the curtains when they were preparing... freshly cooked meet teriyak joints will never disguise their kitchen :) hope this helped! read more

They're food is okay. Not gonna lie. They serve cooked veggies and salad with the meat/rice. Quite plain and cheap, but a good healthy alternative. Various foods also, from Korean bibimbop to udon to teriyaki to sushi. This is right next to my work so I can understand they get many to go orders from nearby companies. However, they now only take CASH for orders under $10. Which is basically everything, unless you want to buy two meals with your card. And the low rating? The waitress is horrid. She's one of those ladies that never smiles and just gives off a nasty vibe. read more

The Grand Opening sign has been up for, like, ever. Maybe it's been up since before the place that was there before this, that served fresh roasted turkey dinners with mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce *and* an impressive teriyaki style menu closed (hmm ... may I please have some mashed potatoes with my soba noodles?). Bento World is just forever young. The spicy chicken teriyki served over BROWN rice if you want it is yummy, and comes with steamed, plain cabbage and assorted vegetables. The menu board lists the ever wacky Bee Bim Bab in six varieties, all available with fried egg on top. Lordy. The *soft tofu* with steamed rice and vegetables is just right for a day at the office with stuffy nose and scratchy throat. But. By far. The best thing about Bento World (better than its stone's throw proximity to my desk, its long hours, its permagrandopening sign) is the printed, bold, all caps category on the to-go menu (a category, you know, like TERIYAKI or YAKISOBA or BEE BIM BAB) for LAW & COOKED FISH. I mean, what the heck? Are they messing with me? Are they just the funniest people on the planet? Luckily, the food is tasty & served up quickly so I get to go have a look at that menu pretty frequently. read more

Bento World - spicy! don't eat it at your desk or the whole office will smell like garlic spicy chicken all day! - Japanese Near Me - Seattle, Washington

I've been going here off-and-on for 2 years, and it's still the most bland teriyaki I've had in Seattle. - The chicken meat is usually not great quality, and no "chicken breast" menu option available. - The beef (the one time I ordered it) was hamburger held together by the fat on the meat. Disgusting - The vegetable yakisoba had NO SAUCE. Salty noodles with steamed veggies is NOT yakisoba. - No hot tea available. - Better get your food to go, as there's limited seating. - Salad that comes with the teriyaki is very simple and not very tasty. I have kept trying it every couple months hoping that it will magically get better, but it hasn't. Good thing there's better teriyaki available a few blocks away near Pike's Place Market. read more

My wife and I were staying in Seattle for a few days and one night we got in late and hadn't eaten dinner. We needed something quick, so we found Bento House on Yelp and were amazed to find that it was literally across the street from our hotel. I ordered by phone, and the meal was ready when I got there (less than 10 minutes after I placed the order). When I got back to the room with the order, my wife thought that the knock on the door must be someone else, because I couldn't POSSIBLY have returned in 5 minutes. The food was delicious!! The tuna maki roll was as good as the best sushi restaurants I've ever experienced. My wife's teriyaki chicken dinner was fabulous, there was so much food we saved the rest for lunch the next day. This place is reasonably-priced, fast, and convenient. Next time we're in Seattle, we'll be paying them another visit. read more

Worst teriyaki I've ever had. I have no more words to say. Go to Okinawa nearby if you want good teriyaki.

I went to this restaurant because it's was in local In the area .. I paid 18.36 for my meal when I noticed the shrimp wasn't cooked I reported the issue the guy swore up and Down the shrimp was cooked i made him taste the shrimp in front of me .. I asked him did he boil the shrimp because it tasted frozen and was still white he then Told me he doesnt cook for black people read more

I agree with Samantha K. I also always order the spicy chicken teriyaki on brown rice (it's more like cous cous imo) and it's always delicious. The only down side is that it's so spicy I can't eat all of it at once, and my co-workers give me strange looks when I come bopping out of my office with sweat all over my face :) read more

This was a pretty bad experience. Two small sushi rolls cost me almost $17. ...and they were not spectacular. The space itself Is cramped, and not particularly well-maintained. I would not go here again. read more

First time trying this place... Tldr; it's just okay. I came for lunch and got the spicy chicken teriyaki and it was good, not great. It was mostly spicy chilis sauce and not much actual teriyaki sauce. The side salad is okay as well but nothing to write home about. And I honestly don't care what the interior looks like. I'm all about how the food is and if the restaurant is clean enough. read more

I always go here! It's a convenient little location close to my work so I just walk on over and pick myself up a chicken teriyaki. The lady there is so kind, she's always excited to see customers! The teriyaki there is good too. Not too much sauce, always warm and it's a pretty big portion. Only thing I would caution about is the line because they're so popular! It's not that big of a venue, so I call before hand to order my food and then come in a few minutes later to pick it up. Awesome place! read more

This is a hole in the wall, family owned joint that serves great lunches at great value. I was initially reluctant to go in bc the interior looked so blah. Glad I tried it anyways. They're always friendly and serve everything with a smile. The bibimbap is fresh and well portioned (good for 2 lunches) and their spicy chicken is also delicious! If you're looking to support a small business in belltown- come here! read more

Whatever happened to all the teriyaki joints in downtown Seattle! Anyway, I am thrilled that I have found this place. Though I have to walk from Century Square on 4th Ave to Belltown, it gets my circulation going at least! The portions are nice sized and the service is always amazing. Honestly, the only thing I've tried is the Chicken/Beef teriyaki combo, and I always get compliments on how good my food smells when I bring it back to the office. Love this place so much it is well worth the walk. I'm not sure where any other teriyaki places are in DT Seattle, but I don't really care as long as Bento World is here to satisfy my mid-week teriyaki cravings. read more

Unfortunately the sushi does not meet expectations- even for a smaller place. We ordered using their online menu and the roll was supposed to contain tuna. They substituted tofu. When we tried to return the roll they insisted that the 'online menu was wrong' and that the 'store menu was right'. They did not offer a refund or replacement over the confusion. If a sushi place thinks that tofu and tuna are interchangeable then you should probably find another place to eat. read more

Just tried this place for lunch today after a co-worker told me they had bibimbap. Score!! The place is tiny and it was very busy during lunch time, which is a good sign. We waited about 10 mins or more for our order, so if you want to grab it on the go, I suggest calling in ahead of time. Portions were large and all the fixin's were in there, with generous portions of meat, rice, the Korean red sauce, and fresh veggies. I was very satisfied and had a hard time stopping myself from closing the box. There's enough in there for two meals. I shall be back to try out their other fare. read more

I'm currently in love with their cooked salmon. Salmon pieces over rice. And the salmon fat drips into the rice. Yum! And for $7.95 not a bad lunch. I also like their beef bibimbap but it's too spicy for me. I request the hot sauce on the side. I'm a spice wimp. read more

I was in a hurry one night, and I needed a quick place to grab dinner. I saw this place right by my bus stop and decided to give it a shot. The food was good, and there was a TON of it. The salad was awesome! I love that there was broccoli in it and the dressing was very tasty. The chicken was juicy and had great flavor too. It was exactly what I expected for a hole-in-the-wall teriyaki joint. For the price, I dug it. I would go back again. read more

it's cheap, it's across the street from my office, and the chicken udon hits the spot on these cold days. The owner is such a sweet woman. The noodles in the udon are fat and chewy and oh so satisfying. The only oddity is that every time I order it I find pieces of tempura tofu in with my chicken. Which is fine. But I don't love soggy fried tofu in my chicken soup. Haven't tried anything else but they seem to do a brisk lunch business! Get takeout, it's tiny inside. read more

Yuck & Yuck. Now I just ate at this place for the first time yesterday, so I am not expert about it. But my experience compelled me to comment. I got the simple chicken teriyaki to go. Normally that's a pretty safe bet regardless of the place. And I am by no means super fussy when it comes to teriyaki. But this was terrible. I forced myself to eat it as I hate throwing away $6 and I was starving. The entire time I was eating it, I was looking forward to getting over with it. Blech just thinking about it. The Chicken was bland and tasteless and the rice was weird. Stephanie was on the money when she said the salad was gross. Cauliflower, Broccoli, and cole slaw? I refused to eat this. I tried to give it to a bum and even he refused. I was also disappointed that they didn't have a cheaper teriyaki/roll combo. The cheapest one was about $10. Not that I'm ever going back to this place again. Seriously, my mouth tastes gross just thinking of it. read more

There is an old saying "fast, good, cheap: pick two" that applies to a great number of things in life. Bento World really does break that model and provides great food, at a good value, quickly. The host...she is so friendly and welcoming! My fav dish there is the yakisoba. I spent a year stationed in Okinawa Japan, and this yakisoba reminds me of the great yakisoba I had in Okinawa. I have tried other items on their menu and they're all great, I just have a thing for yakisoba. read more

It was a good meal and at good price but nothing special. The teriyaki was tasty but disappointed in the fact the spicy teriyaki tasted like Buffalo Chicken mixed with teriyaki. I would go back but not a place I would go regularly. read more

I used to work around the corner from this place, and I absolutely loved it! Their prices are great, and the portions are large. And whereas many restaurants will only give you lettuce and dressing with your teriyaki and call it a salad (if you even get a salad at all), I loved that Bento World includes mixed vegetables. It's been quite a while since I've been there because it's out of my way now, but lately I've found myself craving their bulgogi. I think I may have to stop by sometime soon! read more

I stopped by here yesterday to get some sushi. Yeah, I guess once you've had Sushi Maki, everything else pales in comparison... this place is just as the 2-stars say when you click the rating button - "MEH".... I suggest going elsewhere for your sushi/teriyaki kick. read more
