In town for the night on business, I asked the front desk where I can get some good non-chain food nearby...the first thing out of his mouth was Bentley. Since I travel alone, I like to sit at the bar and enjoy the banter of others and chit chat with the bartenders. Upon walking in, I noticed the bar was pretty full, with just 3 seats available in the corner. I saddled up and got a quick "hello" from the only bartender. I could tell she was busy and somewhat annoyed with the only drunk guy in the place, but nonetheless managed a half-smile. I had the grilled salmon, which was just meh. Besides being drowned in balsamic glaze, it tasted fresh and the mashed potatoes with spinach were consistent and creamy. It took quite a while to get the bartender's attention for a refill and the check, but overall it was a good experience. read more

First time here the food was really good but the waitress JILL H. WAS TERRIBLE, never came back to our table after giving us our food. If you visit here make sure not to get her. She had no personality and she only favors her regular customers. You would think if your a waitress you would be more friendly and check on your customers. Got here late - almost closing. Staff was so friendly! Food was excellent. I had spaghetti with meatballs and Italian sausage. My Italian friends make it better but this was really excellent food on the road. I love beer. The Wachusett Larry Imperial IPA was outstanding! read more

I was eagerly awaiting the opening of this place because the old Picadilly needed to go. Unfortunately, it didn't really seem like much was changed. The interior was updated a little bit as well as the outside and they re-paved the parking lot making it look like something new. Being a PUB as some others have pointed out, I ordered the sheppard's pie which just average at best. The dough was flaky but the filling lacked flavor. The menu is pretty much the same as the old Picadilly which was a major let down. The beers on tap were nothing special just the usual Sam seasonal, Coors, Miller. The bartender was nice and attentive. I also must've gone during the early bird special because this lady next to me sounded like she was going to cough up her lung which definitely did not add to the overall experience, but the restaurant can't control that. Will probably go once more to see if other items are up to par but i won't hold my breath. read more

My wife and I met my nephew and his wife here on a recent Saturday evening. Easy enough to find right off of the I-291 exit in Auburn. Plenty of parking available in their lot. We were greeted as we came through the door and lead to our table. Interior is clean, fresh and neat. Our waitress, Shannon, was a real delight. Personable, outgoing and perceptive. My niece is a vegetarian which was no problem. They had several choices for her. My nephew and I each had a lobster roll which came with two sides all of which were very good. My wife had the turkey dinner which she said was outstanding! Service was prompt. Prices were reasonable. All in all a good meal. We will be back. read more

Had a quiet birthday dinner with my husband and two sons (both under the age of 8.) It was crowded on a Saturday night, which is a good thing! The menu was short and sweet and I'm ok with not having a billion choices. I got the seafood scampi special, Hubby had a burger and the boys both got mac n cheese. Food was delicious, but Hubby's burger was PILED with hot jalapeno peppers. It's mentioned on the menu but wow...look out. One thing that I wasn't crazy about was that our booth was very cramped. In fact, one side of the restaurant feels quite cramped. Next time I may ask for a table instead. The check came to $36 (I had a coupon for a free entree for my birthday) so that was an inexpensive evening out. Nothing super-special, but a decent night overall. read more

Always enjoy coming here. It's an antidote to 99, IMO. Small, cozy, homey. You are likely to get called "Hon" by your server. "Foodies," please avoid this place, it's not for you. No one will kiss your ass, tell you how special you are, ask you about your 4000 food intolerances, or recite the local pedigree of every food item. This is classic, solid, unpretentious New England comfort food. And it's done well, if simply. I grew up on the coast and caught my share of haddock. The baked haddock here is excellent. The lobster pie is crazy good and you should get it. The clam chowder and lobster bisque is excellent. Why am I talking about green beans? Thanks to the other Yekper who mentioned them. Yes they are fresh, cooked al dente, and perfectly garlic buttered. Hell I could make a meal out of them. The craft beer selection COULD be better, but it's good enough, and always a couple interesting locals on tap. Two sets of relatives lived up the road on Bryan Mawr, so yeah, I know this place. Really nice little rustic-feeling bar/restaurant. Coors lite draft $2.10! (Monthly special). I ordered pot roast $13.95, with 2 sides. The special was mashed cauliflower and cheese, delicious. And greenbeans sauteed with garlic. Also very good. My partner had pecan crusted salmon with butternut squash and the mashed cauliflower. All delicious. Stopped on the way home because the parking lot was fairly full on a Thursday night. Very comfortable interior with lots of wood and exposed beams. But i will say atmosphere was great, menu pretty basic but classic pub style and most importantly beer selection, especially on tap, was varied and local so i got to try some new beers i hadn't had yet! As the other's have said not much as changed. They have a limited menu which I guess changes every month. I was really in the mood for a steak, but all the had was steak tips and a serlion. Most of the menu was seafood. I ordered the surf and terf which was steak tips and fried clams strips. Not my idea of surf and turf but I thought I would give it a shot. Stay away from the steak tips! No flavour and very chewy. But it was only $9.99. The food isn't over priced. Between my husband and I we spent $30 with the tip, which is a cheap night out for us. The atmosphere is cozy, with knotty pine on the walls, hanging plants and soft lighting. The service was excellent. Marge, our waitress, was on the ball. Our drinks came quickly and when we needed her she wasn't far. She was talkative and cheerful but not intrusive. The food was the weak point. My meatloaf was overdone on the outside and underdone on the inside. The spices didn't come through, leaving it wanting for flavor. My grandmother's buffalo wings were more spicy than we wanted and required blue cheese to be edible. Great place to go if you're in the area, though there really aren't too many other options other than fast food. Very much like what the 99 restaurant tries to be. I paid with my debit card and left....the next day I check my bank account and see that I have been charged not once , not twice but 3 TIMES!!!! Mind you my account is now on hold for 3 times my meal... I call and ask to speak to manager, a woman comes on and ask if she is the manager she says yes and I ask if she can tell me who I am speaking to she then says well what is this about??? Seriously ??? Now I'm really upset and tell her I'm a customer who was on there last. Ishtar and have been charged 3 times!!! Her demeanor changed and she told me her name. Her only answer was sorry it will be 24 to 48 hours fir the money to be back in my account!!! I'm sorry I had no idea I had to give a deposit to eat in your establishment . She then tells me she will have the general manager call me in the morning . It was noon tome and still no call so I sent an email to jimmy58taylor and wait two hours and no response... everyone needs to be aware that you better have plenty of money in your account if you decide to dine here because you you're account will be on hold and they really don't care !!!! I for one will never be back I work too hard for my money and would rather dine where they appreciate and care about their customers! His I don't give a rats ass reply! Remember this before you decide to go here ..oh and I'm on day 3 and my account is still on hold for the extra money!!! Nothing has Been "corrected!" Thanksgiving Day dinner at the Bentley behold, for others the tradition too has fast taken hold. Decided not to cook, or even to clean, the Bentley Pub was just the place to make that scene. Everyone there was happy, full, and aglow, even so with grandma reluctantly in tow. Food, friends, and family eating and drinking to delight, all the while the daytime slipped quietly into the night. If you want to go to a place that still serves popcorn out of those old wooden bowls your grandma used to have, look no further! The Bentley has a Ground Round vibe with decor that hasn't been updated since the Ground Round first opened. They still serve Ritz Crackers with that weird pub cheese that is made with mayo and who knows what else. Prices are good, food is decent with about the portions and selection you would expect.
