Left my car here because the brakes were making noise. Tyson and his crew inspected the car and told me what it needed and made the repairs for a very fair price. They couldn't have done a better job! First time customer and I will definitely be back. read more

Excellent, fast, affordable service. I contacted them for a quote on my brakes and they didn't try to quote me some outrageous price like a lot of other businesses did (there was one other place that quoted me close to the same price). They treated me fair and worked with me when I had to split my appointment between two different days. Definitely going back next time my car needs to be serviced read more

I've been having these people do my alignment, front end work and brake work since the mid 1970's. I believe they're honest and competent. read more

I feel really fortunate to have found Benson's!! They do not advertise, as they have plenty of customers via word of mouth only. Lots of people here in the NASA/NASA Contractor community use them, as they are extremely knowledgeable, and FAIR. I never feel like they are trying to screw me over. They are very honest when it comes to not doing unnecessary work to your vehicle. Can't beat their prices either!! read more

$79.95 and 1 hr for alignment with week advance appointment. .No before and after printout. Adjusted one side only (camber) and gave truck back with steering wheel 30 degrees off center when traveling straight. Had to have it redone. Wasted $80. read more

I have lived in the Clear Lake area for 36 years and have been bringing my cars to Benson's just about the same amount of time. You will not meet a more HONEST and HARDWORKING team than the wonderful folks at Benson's! As mentioned in other reviews, the great guys at Benson's won't charge you a dime if the fix is a quick minor tweak. I have ALWAYS been so impressed with the knowledge and skill of every technician working on my car. My experience has been that Benson's identifies and fixes an issue the first time around. I have NEVER had to bring my car back in for the same issue. Benson's has worked on our Chevys, Toyotas, Mazdas, Nissans, and Infinities. In addition to the fabulous customer service, the owners treat the staff VERY WELL. There is no turnover in staff. If you are lucky enough to be hired by Bob and Payton, you most likely will be a lifetimer. Bob and Payton show their incredible staff the utmost respect for their well-being - financially, health-wise, and employee benefits. (How do I know this? I ask! The great guys giving courtesy rides always tell me how wonderful it is to work for Bob and Payton.) Benson's provides exceptional service AND treats their employees well. Imagine that!?! Bob and Payton put their workers above profits and it shows! This is a business model ALL small businesses should emulate! read more

This place is an anomaly. Honest mechanics?! Say what?! Yes, it is true. My friend brought her (Yes, a female bringing a car alone to a repair shop. Insert Jaws music here.) car here after we both thought the starter may be failing. As it turned out it was simply a loose connection that required no repair. And there was no charge for the connection fix or diagnosis. Again, say what?! This place DESERVES your business, folks. Just incredible. read more

Always take my car here. I hate that it takes a while to get an appt, but that's because they are good and honest. Highly recommend.

Benson's quickly analyzed and replace a failed wheel bearing on my 2015 Subaru Outback. They are a quality business for wheel repair and alignment. read more

I have been using this business for 34 years. They always take care of my business at a reasonable price. Trust me, getting it done correctly the first time is really important to me. My time is worth money. Most other shops around here require 2 or 3 return trips to fix things. I am happy to pay for the job once and get it done correctly at Benson's. Now that Tyson is running it, it is like nothing changed from the first day I started going there. One time I brought my 2008 Hyundai to them because my front end was making noise. I was expecting a $500.00 bill at least. I was pleasantly surprised, the bill was $75.00. The parts were covered under warranty from 2.5 years previous. Where else is that going to happen. Only at Benson's read more

Ok, so I was told about this place by a co-worker. I had a very harsh and audible sound from the driver side front tire with every left turn that was over uneven pavement. I self-diagnosed the problem and replaced a substantial amount of parts only to find that none of them cured the problem in my Avalanche. Took it to Bensons, they called me the next day, said the truck is ready. A bolt had loosened up on the control arm. How much do I owe you ? We can't charge you to tighten a bolt. Now That is character and scruples of what America was built on and once was ! To the men at Bensons, well done and may God bless you and your family's. read more

My husband has used Benson's for years. When we got married they took care of both of our vehicles. They service the vehicles for US, not for their pocketbook and it shows! They won't do a job if it doesn't need it, they will fix anything that wasn't done correctly the first time (they are human!) and they explain to you what it needs and give you the choice before they go ahead and do the work. Very professional but also very down to earth! The guys are great :). I would recommend them to anyone who needs a regular place to bring their vehicle. read more

I've been here a few times over the past couple years and I love them first for their low prices after getting quotes at other service places. They by far have the most affordable ratings. Second I am always easy to be scheduled in and the staff is polite and efficient. 5 stars from me read more

I had a great experience, reasonably priced, and its just nice, they know what their doing. Bob just knew his stuff even via phone. Very knowledgable. I have a wheelchair van, and conveniences such as Uber are simply not available to me. Being fortunate enough to work, imagine my horror, when 6 am van doesn't start. Ahhhhhh panic, not only will I miss work, but doctors appointments, movies etc, Ahhh the horror. They fit it in somehow, I dunno how, the problem seemed to be simple & up and running later that same day. Thank you Bob & Benson's read more

I've taken my vehicle to Benson's three times now and they are absolutely the most professional shop I've ever dealt with. This word of mouth, appointment only shop has very knowledgeable people, who are friendly, straight to the point and very honest. I've had my truck's brakes done, transmission serviced, several 100,000 mile items, and a few other things done by them and they're all done consistently well, in good time, and for a fair price. Easily five stars in my book! read more

Here is another honest shop I just discovered. They did a wheel alignment for me over my lunch hour at a fair price. But like all the good shops you need an appointment. They also sell Michelin tires, complete front end repairs, brake repairs, A/C and electrical (from their card). read more

Benson's is wonderful. My clutch went out Friday evening while visiting in Galveston County. A friend recommended Benson's, so I called them Monday morning to explain the situation and seek advice. They were able to recommend a tow service who billed to them, and then called me when my car was received. When I picked my car up, (meeting Peyton Benson and employees in person for the first time), my invoice was reasonable, which impressed me, since I was an "out of towner" in a vulnerable position. read more

This is the only place that my husband and I trust when it comes to alignment/axle work. We have brought vehicles to Benson s for over 20 years. Highly reliable and trustworthy staff! read more

Friendly and professional staff, they were booked for a few days out but I was not in a hurry, so scheduling an appointment was relatively easy. While waiting for the alignment service to be performed (took them slightly over an hour), I witnessed few other costumers interacting with staff (either waiting or picking up their cars, calling it with questions and estimate request) and Bob and Tyson were very polite, patient and informative, trying to meet everyone's needs. Will definitely go back if necessary and if the fix within their area of expertise (sounded like everything related to tires, wheels, drivetrain etc for domestic and Japanese cars, relatively limited scope for luxury German makes). read more

Thank you benson for fixing my 2006 town and country van. You guys did great! Affordable and honest!

We've been taking our two vehicles to Benson's for the last six years or so, on recommendations from my brother who took his two vehicles there. I'll cut to the chase - I'll continue to drive out of my way to use this shop for all car repairs. Time and time again they've done right by us, especially this past Christmas weekend. Two days before, I took my 2005 Saturn VUE with over 275,000 miles in for several maintenance items. It was losing fuel pressure and needed a new fuel pump, so they installed that. I picked the car up Friday afternoon, ran several errands on Saturday (which was Christmas Eve), and had a late dinner at midnight. Coming home from that, in my driveway, the car sputtered, shook, and stopped. It would not start back up. I had a couple days to ponder this as Benson's was closed for Christmas, and the symptom was indeed a failed fuel pump (or the fuel pump not getting power). I was certain they would cover the pump under warranty as it had only been a couple of days, but to get it towed back to the shop? We live about 15 miles away and my insurance would only cover a tow to the "nearest" shop. Indeed, when I called them Tuesday morning he didn't hesitate - immediately gave me the number of a tow truck that would bill them, it got picked up that day and we just got a call that the fuel pump was bad, they replaced it, and she's all ready to go. No charge for anything. Every time they give me estimates on work, it's less than the national average. They've never "padded" an estimate with unnecessary work, nothing like that. Straight up folks running a great business. In the area there is none better. read more

Greatest auto shop ever. Excellent work at honest prices. Been here several times for several reasons and I'd recommend them based on any one of those trips. read more

My family has been doing all our automobile mechanical & tire related business with Benson 's for over 30 years. This includes our children's cars as they got them and moved on to adulthood, although most all the family has moved away from the area through the years. My wife and I get to Houston several months each winter and you guessed it, we still have our work done at Benson's. If nothing else, you can take this next comment to the bank...if Benson's tells you you need a certain part or work done, that's the truth! They do not ever jack anyone around! REALLY! read more

Best place I have ever been too to get my cars worked on. They were honest and up front with time frames and cost of repairs. No games, no messing around. I trust no one else and Tyson was always so helpful. read more

Benson's has been in business over 30 years and I've been a loyal customer for probably close to those 30 years. Peyton and Bob (the 2 owners) are very honest and conscientious. They treat their employees right so they have a good staff of hard working mechanics. They're called Benson's Wheel Alignment since they were until some years ago strictly a front end and brake shop. Now they do most auto work so as soon as my check engine light comes on I'm on my way to Bensons. read more

Everyone in my family only brings their cars to Benson's for any type of job. Benson's is polite, honest, and quick. They will not try to rip you off. You do have to make an appointment (sometimes a week) in advance because they're always fully booked, as they should be. read more

I have been at Benson's client for over fifteen years. Benson's is the ultimate auto repair shop. They can diagnose and fix anything. And their prices are reasonable beyond description. The owners are highly knowledgeable service managers. John, the parts guy is a wizard! Their experienced technicians have worked there for what seems like millennia. That says something about their quality of technical expertise as well as how the owners treat their employees. You cannot go wrong at Benson's! read more

I have lived in this area all my life and been by here hundreds of times but have never used them for service before. That will change in the future. Went in to have the front end checked and aligned and showed up at my scheduled time. They were very nice and prompt and got my car in to check it. The service technician checked it and told me I was within specs and didn't need to do anything. I was quoted $80 for the alignment but when I went to pay the owner said since they didn't change anything the charge would be $25. Wow, talk about honesty and integrity ! In today's world that is rare !. I can't recommend this place enough ! read more

best place in Houston area for miles. I trust them

These are great folks. Brake job was done right, on time and for a very reasonable price. They even checked over the car and let us know about a damaged tire so we could get it replaced.....elsewhere. Very nice, professional staff. Wish I had known about this place years ago. read more

Benson's is the only shop I trust to work on my truck. They have no problem letting me walk in the shop (at my own risk) talk to the mechanics and watch them work. I've sat in the waiting room and seen them deal very honestly and fairly with everyone that walks in. I've been to a fair number of shops that either didn't know what they were doing, or were ripping people off. Not these guys. I enthusiastically recommend them. read more
