I stopped by Bennys Pizza hoping to grab a good slice. There was plenty of seating available but I ordered takeout. I ordered a veggie and caesar salad pizza. Both slices were good but could've been a bit more flavorful. To my suprise this pizza shop also had empanadas. I opted for Chicken Empanadas which were well made and hit the spot! I ordered Zeppolles which seem elusive, especially in this area, and they were the perfect little bites. I would revisit. read more

Ordered a pick up for Sicilian + pepperoni for the weekend night ... total was about 22$ rounded up. Was told it'll take 20 mins. Took exactly that much time. The nice guy behind the counter told me to be careful and not to push down on the lid of the box too much. Got home, opened it. It's a thick 9x13 sheet pizza with gooey cheese and crusty bread. Marinara sauce is a bit sweeter than I'm used to though. It's good on its own. I added some basil flakes and garlic powder because I'm hard to please :P I wish they accepted card over the phone though, so that delivery orders are a viable thing. I've ordered from this place for years but today was truly the worse experience ive ever had. My pasta came dry a flavorless. So i called Benny's to let them know the issue with my order. I was told I was lying, next time just don't order from there, and that was said to me BY THE OWNER HIMSELF. I hung up because I felt myself getting upset. My grandmother called back & Tried to resolve the situation, when she handed the phone back to me they started becoming rude again. After all this back & forth they finally explained how that type of pasta is made & I simply replied that I understand but it still doesn't explain the fact why it was completely bland with no flavor. To then be told how busy they are & can not bother to deal with me. Ive never had such a rude experience ordering, or dining in any restaurant in my life. The garlics knot are not that great. It is hard and does not have enough garlic taste. We'll pass on it next time. Benny's makes a great penne vodka! Delivery can be a bit slow, but the food is worth it. I've tried the lasagna as well and it was also very good. They threw in feee zeppoles with our order which was a nice touch. read more

I used to live right across the street from Benny's and they took incredible care of me (meal-wise) at least once a week for almost two years. Best Italian food I have found anywhere, ever! Exceptionally friendly and efficient service. I moved out of the state but still visit Manhattan a few times a year. Whenever I visit, I always make sure to take a special trip into Queens just to patronize Benny's and enjoy some amazing food. I got penne vodka for takeout. I usually never order Italian food because I make it from scratch at home, but I am stressed about an exam and needed some comfort food without the work. I wasn't expecting much because I didn't feel like paying $25 for pasta from an upscale place, but it was absolutely fantastic! The pasta also wasn't mushy even though it had been in a container while being delivered. Coming from a real Italian food snob, I would highly recommend their pasta (haven't had a chance to try their pizza). They know how to do it. read more

We have been ordering dinner from here since we got to the neighborhood. They always answer the phone in a friendly manner even when they are taking more than one call. The dishes that have been our favorites are penne vodka, tortellini in pink sauce and fettuccine alfredo with mushrooms. I've never tried their pizza so I can't comment on that but their dinner dishes always come delivered hot and they give you a free small side salad. read more

Pizza is mediocre. Chewy dough, very little sauce and greasy undistinguished flavor. Dont even bother eating the crust, I fed it to my dog. I think they use krasdale mozzarella from.C town. Benny's pizza is hidden in Jamaica, Queens. A fast and efficient place that serves fresh pizza everyday ! I came by here for a quick lunch on a working day and got a slice of their marghertia pizza. Marghertia pizza was covered with delicious mozzarella, fresh basil and drizzled with olive oil on top. The sauce was delicious and packed with flavors. Marghertia pizza here is my go to. Appearance (Good) Recently updated the interior decorating, giving it a fresh new look. It might have a small flat screen TV, but your attention will be on the food. Service (Wonderful) Who better to take your order, than Benny himself? Expect him to be there almost every hour the pizzeria is open. In the Summer time, occasionally you will see his sons working there. Everyone there is friendly and willing to get to know you. Expect to have your order taken as soon as you like. A few years back, I asked Benny to make me a buffalo chicken pizza one day. I came in a week later and there was the buffalo pizza pie sitting by the window. Tried it and it's always been one of my favorites at Benny's, besides their BBQ pizza (which I also asked him to make a month later and he did it). It's become one of their best sellers and something I just have to force my friends to order. Quality (Great) Just stuff me silly and give me a Snapple. I just enjoy the taste and texture of the food here. Nothing tastes like it could possibly be something else that they sell, everything has it's own taste and texture. Soft pizza rolls are really soft, the chicken is juicy and flavorful, the pasta feels like it's being made in your mouth. Price (Reasonable) A great meal will cost you under $10. Pretty good local joint. I did have to wait a bit for my order though. I called the order in (3 large pies) for pick up and was told 30-35 min. I got to the store and waited another 10-15 min. I guess I'd rather that the pizza was fresh out of the oven. The sauce was just right (not too sweet or salty). I see other reviewers mentioning bad service, but I didn't notice that. I guess the guy in charge seems to be no nonsense, so that might rub some people the wrong way. I got what I ordered so I can't complain. I would order from Benny's again. read more

This has to be the worst experience that I've ever had ordering pizza by phone. I called them and ordered a few items from them. I gave them my address and phone number. I then waited about 45 minutes and I didn't even get a phone call from them, so I decided to call them myself. When I called them back the lady explained that the place is too far from where I live. She was actually pretty upset that it was that far. She gave me a huge attitude about it. Her driver was basically halfway here and she chose to call him and tell him to come back. Basically wasting my time and her time and wasting the food also she should have called and told me this but she didn't. She should've just continued with the delivery just for that day that way she didn't waste any money that they had spent on making the pizzas and tell the driver to tell me that he cannot deliver here anymore. Seriously they are a eight minute drive from where I live. I've ordered from places in Rockaway that will actually come all the way from there to deliver food to me with. A Eight minute drive is nothing, Especially if you have a car. which they did. I do not recommend you order from this place unless you live within two or three blocks away from them. read more

This place is soooo soooo good, especially considering it's just a tiny place on Hillside. It seems to be a one man or maybe a family operation and perhaps thats why each bite tastes like it has a love in it. The red sauce they use on the pasta dishes is unforgettable. I do not claim to have a refined palette, but I would bet the red sauce is homemade with fresh tomatoes. I also had the chicken and penne and their mixture of oil and garlic is delish. Soup is also good (though needs a dash of salt) and pizza is flavorful and crisp. The best part is they always give you a shit ton of bread with your meals. In fact, they give you a shit ton of everything; enough for leftovers for a couple of days. The only bad part (and this could be seen as a good part) is that it's a little hard to converse with the guy who takes the delivery orders because he's super Italian. Apart from pizza, they have a pretty extensive menu and their salads (yes, I said SALADS) are very fresh, reasonably priced and to be perfectly honest, the bread that is heated up to an ideal temperature which, accompanies any salad, is that heavenly cheat treat that you've always dreamed out.
