Started our girl day with delicious breakfast at Benny's Cafe! Our waitress was kind, and thorough. Food was scrumptious! It hit the spot! Reasonable pricing! We will be back!

Let's be honest here, ya walk right in and I thought I was at a nursing or group home luncheon because I hadn't seen more concentration of elderly individuals so if thats your vibe and you like that distinguished bathroom soap smell, this is the place for you! 16$ for salmon platter, house salad and dessert wasn't a bad deal and didn't give me a stomach ache but nothing special and missing some flavor. The onion rings were horrific and should be taken off the menu! I wouldn't be coming back but I'm glad I didn't break the bank on this one.

Fried chicken, frozen beans/peas/carrots, and what they call mashed potatoes with gravy. Potatoes look half mangled over and disgusting.

Called to place a pick up order, and the woman who answered spent the least amount of time on the phone with me, that she possibly could. Was told "pick up order at window", spent some time deciding if I go to the drive thru lane, that was showing closed.. so I went inside and didn't see a "pick up" counter either. Long story short... beyond the service, or lack of... I ordered a half chicken with mashed potatoes/gravy, and I picked the soup for a starter, and then I got what they called 'mixed seasonal veggies'. Unfortunately I cannot scream "how sad, gross, and disappointing" this meal was, loud enough.

Before arriving to Benny's Cafe I was excited, I had never been here but I know some family members that always come here. I read some of the reviews and was very much looking forward to enjoying the friendly staff everyone seems to love. My party was a group of 8 people and we had called ahead of time to make a reservation for noon. We were all there at noon and quickly enough we were asked what we'd like to drink. In my party there were a few special drinks and a few sodas. After a few minutes all the specialty drinks arrived but there was no trace of our sodas. You'd think a Mountain Dew would be fairly easy to get. I did not get my drink until about 12:30. The waitress however didnt' ask us what we'd like to order to eat yet. We figured she wasn't ready yet and would come right back. We did not see our Waitress until about 1PM. At which point I was already fairly upset. If they didn't want to take care of us, they should have just told us, we could have found some other place to go to. It simply shouldn't take 1 hour for someone to take our order. The place wasn't even busy, most tables were empty. At around 1:10 I did get the soup that would go with my food. I was happy to see that the food was at least coming out faster. The bread for the soup however was not a good experience. Felt like bread that had been made a few days ago. The soup itself, lots of flavor but too much salt. I love salt, a lot, so I did drink the cup but even I thought it was a bit too much. Some of the people in my table had salads, some got the wrong dressing, not going to complain about that because it's a simple error, easy to fix. One member did feel like the salad was too wet, adding the dressing looked like dressing soup. By 1:30 I was starting to get upset again because we had not seen our waitress. We could see her working the front of the house but she would never come over to check on us and we had not seen our food yet. However, soon enough the food did finally arrive. Personally I went with the Chicken Alfredo. If I was to rate their Chicken Alfredo alone, I would say they get a 2.5 out of 5. It was nothing special, certainly not the worst I've had, but not a whole lot of flavor to it. I asked for Parm cheese to see if that would help but the parm didn't really add any flavor to it. By 2PM we had all been waiting for a while again without having our waitress come over to check on us. Some of us had been ready for dessert. The place at this point had been the emptiest I had seen it during our visit. I decided it was time to ask the manager what was going on. I went to speak with the manager and explained how we had been there since 12PM and it was now 2PM, we had been waiting a lot without anyone checking on us. He apologized and simply said that they were short staffed. You'd think if they are short staffed they'd try to focus more on the table with the most paying customers. He did promise to send our waitress over. By 2:15 we were finally done with our desserts and ready to go. I'm not sure if the is the type of place where you have to go up front to get your check but we decided we would just go up front because we were not about to wait for it. The waitress herself, she was very nice WHEN we would talk to her, but she was just missing, a LOT. The manager, I was not too impressed with his response, he seemed to think that just saying "we're short staffed" should fix the problem. I wasn't trying to get anything for free here, but just seemed like he didn't really think that the fact that we had been here for 2 hours was that big a deal. The food was pretty bleh, not bad, not good, just ok.

Very family friendly. Lots of seats which keeps the wait times down! Service was pretty good. Hot chocolate was good, came in a cool cup. The food was decent, just a little cold. Clean bathrooms. Has a drive through!

I ended up here after my first choice fell through because they didn't have a cook on the premises. I was seated right away and given a menu. The interior was your typical greek diner with lots of wood and fake scenes painted on the walls. Chairs with wheels in front of the tables, booths along the walls. The menu was not one of the huge ones and had all the standard breakfast items. I opted for the Benny's special which was eggs, protein, hash browns and toast with Coffey. I never order Coffey from diner style places because it's never great. Coffey came with my meal and it was nothing to talk about. The food came quick and hot. My 3 eggs were perfect sunny side up. The hash browns plentiful. The toast was the generic three. The sausage links were tasty and a little above average. I will post pictures. Over all the service was good and the breakfast was your average diner/cafe fare. It's your solid you know what to expect style breakfast place.

- delicious food, good service, cozy ambiance - no…read morereservation can be made for brunch - excited to come back for a sweet option Happy to get a seat at this tasty diner! With their rotating menu items and weekly specials, I am definitely coming back after having such a flavorful and fun meal. Waited about an hour on a busy Saturday since one of their locations was closed, but the food was well worth it! I had gotten Wolfie's Patty Melt and it was filling and a great start to our morning. The bread was nice and crisp from the buttered griddle and held everything together perfectly. Inside the crunchy sandwich were 2 seasoned patties and enough gooey cheese to make it rich, but not heavy. To contrast the fatty flavor, there was a slightly tart bacon jam and onions that were truly caramelized. Overall really tasty sandwich with no notes! In the description it says there is a sauce, but I could only taste the onions and jam, so I'm not too sure what it added. The side of fries was ok, but I think some crispy thinner ones would have been better with the sandwich. For my drink, I got a hot Ube Chai. The chai was strong and had a spicy kick to each sip. Already a subtle flavor, the ube was not very strong with the chai mixed in, but still added fun color. The design on top was also very cute and added another dink of sweetness. My girlfriend got the Spamelette for her main and it was pretty pretty and delish. Not too often that you see Spam, but when you see it, trust it earned its spot on a menu! The big chunks of Spam and accouterments gave each bite a pleasant feel and one full of flavor. I was skeptic of the mushrooms at first, but they were seasoned well and added another kind of texture to the meal. I think my favorite toppings were the drizzle of kewpie and the green onions... not sure if it counts as a topping, but the tamari glaze of the spam made it delish. Taste aside, it was also a pretty meal! Pook got a Hot Chocolate for her drink. Nice simple drink for the cold weather. We would have liked to see some more chocolatey flavor, but still a good milky drink for the meal. This drink also had a fun design and nice cream top, yum yum yum. This was such a tasty meal and they have lots of other options that I was debating on getting - I guess we gotta come back! It was a really cold day, but the cozy atmosphere and hot drinks with our food made it a great experience. We had originally planned on going to the Downtown location, but it was closed because of heating problems. I wish there was a bit more uniformity between their menus, especially since the Brewers Hill menu has different items and is smaller, so it feels like there is quite the difference between locations. Going off of that point, I am excited to try their dinner menu when it releases and see how it compares to when we ate Downtown! I am not sure how the places differ, but I felt the food here to be more flavorful than the other location. In addition to the dining area, they had a small shop and coffee area in the back while you waited for your table. It was fun and made time pass faster, but I feel as though that area is also perfect for dining. Maybe there are specific reasons why it isn't, but just a thought. Hope to come back soon!

When we arrived (about two hours after opening), we were quoted a 1.5-hour wait. Not totally surprising given how popular the spot is, but definitely something to plan around. We've skipped it in the past because we were too hungry to wait, and honestly, that might still be a factor for future visits. The space itself is cozy and on the smaller side, with the bar area taking up a good portion of the restaurant. It has a lively atmosphere, but because it was completely packed and music was playing, it got pretty loud, loud enough that it was hard to hear each other at times, and even a bit difficult to catch everything our server was saying. That said, the waitstaff were friendly and doing their best in a busy environment. As for the food and drinks, definitely the highlight. We ordered an ube latte and a chai, both of which were enjoyable. The standout dish was the breakfast burger with bacon jam. It was fantastic, rich, messy, and indulgent in the best way. The bacon jam added just the right amount of sweetness to balance out the savory, greasy goodness, and I was completely on board with it. We also ordered a few of their breakfast plates, which came with massive smashed potatoes. Overall, Uncle Wolfie's delivered on flavor and vibe, but the long wait and noise level might make us think twice about when we go back. I'd definitely return, but ideally during a less busy time. Otherwise, if I'm starving and don't want to wait, I might end up trying somewhere else.

The classic breakfast was amazing. My eggs were perfectly scrambled. The jam paired well with the toast and I'm not even a fan of jam. A solid morning meal can be had here. Thanks to the photo gallery for this place, I had to try the Olive Oil Cake. It was pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of thick crusts. From my photo, you can see there's a thick crust over the cake. Once you get past that, the actually cake is very good. Strong olive oil taste. SERVICE: The baristas in Interval are so nice. They bring your drinks and food to you. I had a blast. The building gets flooded with so much natural lighting which is perfect for some sunny day study time. The noise level isn't too loud. You can hear yourself think and have conversation. The only reason I am giving them a one star is because I've just learned that the owner is actually shitty and doesn't pay his workers. On the last day they were open, the power went out, the staff were so nice and kindly told everyone they're welcome to stay but they have to close up shop. Later in the day, there's a sign that said it's closed until further notice and employees saying they haven't been paid!!!! So, interval, you had potential if only you had proper ethical and compassionate business practices. Exploiting your employees is despicable.

Their website has a popup on the home page saying it comes with fried haddock, potato pancakes, applesauce, and rye bread, but the popup doesn't list the price and it isn't available through the online ordering function. I ended up calling in an order to go, substituting wheat bread for the rye, and also added a piece of lemon ginger coffee cake. The lemon ginger coffee cake tasted fine, but man was it dry. Like Sahara Desert dry. Maybe this was an anomaly and their other baked goods are better, but I'd be hesitant to try them based on this coffee cake. Even though the website says the side is potato pancakes with applesauce, my fish fry came with fries. They ended up being the best part of the meal, which I certainly wasn't expecting. Still, I was disappointed cause I prefer potato pancakes and was given their inclusion as an expectation. The wheat bread itself was ok, but the butter was oddly unsalted. The fish, of which there was three pieces, was battered with a hint of beer, but like the butter for the bread there was no salt to speak of in the batter. As much as I didn't enjoy the unsalted butter for the bread, not having salt in the batter for the fish managed to be more unpleasant. Maybe Blue's Egg should just stick with serving breakfast items instead of adding something temporary that they clearly aren't pros at.

I surprisingly don't have many options in my "MKE - Fish Fry" collection that are near downtown, but Swinging Door Exchange was one of them. I was pressed for time, so I placed a to go order rather than dining in. I got the combo fish fry (two pieces of cod, two pieces of perch, and three fried shrimp) with potato pancakes. I was also very easily talked into the half rack rib appetizer. The ribs were good, even though I prefer sauce that's more sweet and smokey. Their sauce was on the tangy side with a tease of spice that really only became noticeable when the majority of the half rack was gone. If I were in the mood for ribs as my main meal, I'd consider getting theirs as an entree. The two potato pancakes weren't homemade; instead, they were premade hash brown patties that some other restaurants also serve with their fish frys. These were perfectly acceptable in lieu of homemade pancakes. The cod tasted great, but the breading didn't hold up very well. Either the fish itself was too wet or the two block walk back to my car allowed for condensation to wreck it or possibly both. The perch was not yellow lake perch but probably something like pike perch. Even though both kinds of fish and the shrimp were all good sized portions, $29 feels like a lot. I wouldn't say no to it, though, if I were dining in next time and avoid the extra cost of their takeout fee. Shout-out to the bartenders working that night. The bar area was absolutely packed, but both of the ones I talked to about placing my order were friendly and helpful even with being super busy.
