Onion bagel with cream cheese and lox
    Judy B.

Loved Bennys Bagels tried it for the first time today with my husband., my brother in law's family and father in law. Most delicious bagel I've ever made. I got the everything bagel with veggie cream cheese and tomato 4 of us got onion bagels with lox and cream cheese and my sister in law got a breakfast sandwich on a sesame bagel with an egg and cheese. It's one of the few kosher restaurants in Dallas. Wish they would open one in San Antonio! IGNORE ALL THE 3 star and lower reviews! You have Torrey it.

Open face lox bagel. It was so good I forgot to take a picture until after I ate half.

This place is good. It's a chain but seems to be supported by repeat business, which is always a good sign. The lox bagel was legit!!! Get it open faced for extra salmon! Will come back to try their pizza. This place deserves more than 3.5 stars.

I love bagels and bennys serves absolutely delicious bagels and spreads. The quality rivals that of good New York bagels and the prices are totally reasonable. The service is okay. They are friendly enough and it doesn't usually take that long to get our food out. The bagels are DEFINITELY the reason you are coming here though. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is pretty beat up and could some TLC. The door is in rough shape, the layout is pretty bare, and the bathrooms are pretty bad lately.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also I have a baby and the changing table has often had boxes and stuff on it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Again, the bagels are so good I would easily rate them 5/5 but they really need to do a little work on the place to make it feel more comfortable to visit instead of just grab and dash.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I apologize in advance but no pictures this time. This is one of the most embarrassing situations because my everything bagel with Lox and cream cheese and capers was hot and just out of the over. It was inhaled!!! Truly one of the most wonderful things I have put in my mouth in ages. I can smell fresh baked bagels and bread from the moment the door was opened. This place is a gem. Yet, they get busy and it can be a bit hectic when there are families waiting for food but the pizza's looked incredible. Everyone was so happy and not one plate wasn't devoured. NOTE Benny's Bagels on Frankford is a KOSHER establishment. You will not be able to bring in your own food or drinks. There is nothing made with Pork/Piggy (or any meat for that matter) Everything is made fresh on premise and their NY Water Bagel is still one of the best I have ever had. This is a family owned and operated establishment and the owner is highly engaged in it's success. My belly is full and I am smiling from ear to ear. Wish you all were here with me... ******************** HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ********************

This place is a disaster! I was sure they had violations for cleanliness so i checked, but they don't. On the way in, the building looks old and tired, and the front door is rotting out. Inside trash is overflowing the garbage cans, the counters are dirty and cluttered, the plastic plants are atrocious and dusty, and the clock on the wall is broken. Plus, the baking area looks like it could use a good scrubbing. There also seems to be no process or division of labor between the two workers that were there. We saw the food being touched directly by hands as it was prepared. And some people seemed to come and go ahead of the line. Anyway, in spite of all this, they still do attract a loyal crowd of local Jewish clients. We waited in line for what seemed like forever but which was probably just 15 minutes... and when we finally get to the front of the line they tell us that they only have jalapeño, cranberry and blueberry bagels. It would have been nice to let everyone know that in advance instead of making us all waste 15 minutes for our lives... Our quest for the best bagels in Dallas continues, but we didn't find them here!

    Amazing warm Everything bagels!

WOW that was awesome! went in Sunday morning looking for everything bagels. they were sold out, I was disappointed, but the woman at the counter said, I can bake you some if you want them, it would only be 10 minutes. WOW so happy to have fresh warm bagels with chive cream cheese to take home. made some killer breakfast sandwiches with them! Thank you so much for a great experience and a great Bagel!

The line was out the door, and there was no way they weren't beyond their max capacity. The line moved pretty quickly, I ordered, and then went outside where I could breathe. I didn't have to wait too long, and the sandwich was incredible. I got mine on an everything bagel. They don't skimp on the portions, I feel like I had 5-6 strips of bacon on mine. Overall, an excellent experience and highly recommend!

I am always on the prowl for meatless options that don't feel like a sacrifice, and this loaded bagel sandwich is the gold standard. I went with the Plain bagel, and the textures were incredible. The egg was perfectly fluffy, the cheese was melted into every nook and cranny, and that steaming hot hash brown inside provided a salty crunch that takes the whole thing to another level. It's a heavy, satisfying, and undeniably delicious sandwich that proves you don't need meat to have a world-class breakfast. If you want to lean into the indulgence, get it on a toasted Everything bagel. The extra garlic and onion bits on the crust pair perfectly with the richness of the egg and cheese! The bagel itself has that authentic NYC "snap" on the outside and a soft, chewy interior. It manages to hold all those heavy ingredients together without getting soggy--a true feat of bagel engineering! The line was out the door, but it moved quickly, and the high-energy staff kept the vibes 10/10. It's clear why this is a Dallas staple.

Outside has a few outdoor seats but has plenty of character with colorful shading and the patio overlooks the eyeball. Having bagels in grad school in Nashville and toasting Lenders Bagels from the grocery most of my life, I never understood what a great bagel should taste like. I tried Shug's bagel but the price point, long lines and crowed interior made me give up on bagels from Dallas until today. The person at the window recommended the Millennial Falcon, an open faced, Sesame Bagel with a Basil Schmear, pickled onions and chili flakes. It was wonderful and the chili flakes gave it a nice extra flavor. My girlfriend chose the Supernova Lox, which was also good but lacked the heat which I love. Doesn't matter. These guys know what they are doing and now I understand the fuss about real bagels. The experience also gives me another data point that supports my theory about great restaurants operating only out of a window. Any restaurant in business for more than a year that only operates out of a window , must have awesomely delicious food. They must because they are only competing on taste and potentially price, while bad weather acts as a natural deterrent. Any Dallas restaurant serving bagels, should take lessons from these guys. Now all they need to do is open a place in West Village in Uptown and they would make money faster than printing it. Don't believe me? Drop by and you'll see.

On the plus side, they get major props for having my beloved poppy seed bagels which are hard to come by in our area for some reason. Texture-wise, the bagels are decent. I personally prefer a bit more "chew" but overall, they are pretty good. Now for what did not work for me- the much lauded veggie schmear was heavy on the carrot and dill. Like, unpleasantly heavy. I ended up scraping most of it off and just ate the bagel dry. And I'm not certain that the schmear was actually cream cheese. It tasted more like creme fraiche or something. Also, the service was lacking. Dude handed me my bagel without looking up or saying thank you. It's a small thing but it matters! I'm good on Starship. No need for a repeat visit.

The bagel was warm, airy, and crispy. The smears were delicious! We love the scallion smear since it paired so well with the toppings, but the garlic smear was a bit too strong. The location is outdoors, so bring a jacket if chilly out. Oh, and watch out for customers grabbing orders that aren't yours since no one is making sure they're handed out correctly. We arrived around 10:30 am, which I realize is not exactly crack-of-dawn bagel time when everyone is grabbing their carb-loaded fuel before work. As an ex-New Yorker, I have my favorite bagel flavors, but my number one priority is simple: is it warm? Sadly, I was told there were no warm bagels, so I settled for a poppy bagel with the new lemon cream cheese. The cream cheese was fantastic. No notes. Seriously, it was great. The bagel itself was fine. My bigger issue was the service and the missed opportunity. The place was not crowded at all, maybe seven people inside. After we sat down waiting for our order, I noticed a guy in the back literally baking bagels and moving fresh, hot bagels into bins. HOT BAGELS, people. Would it have killed someone to walk 30 feet and offer me one fresh off the line? I had already mentioned it was my first time there and how much I love a warm bagel. I totally understand they cannot do this for every single customer all day long, but when it is quiet and someone is clearly excited about your product, that little extra effort can make a huge difference in customer retention. I worked in customer service my entire life, and I always believed in going the extra mile when you can - "accomodating when you can be" is a great customer service motto! I really wanted to love this place, and I appreciate what they are doing, but at this point my bagel loyalty may be heading toward PopUp Bagels. (And I have love for Dan's too.)
