Amazing bagels! Coming from NYC these are certainly fantastic bagels when you're guaranteed a good time. The staff was super friendly in helping buildy order and I absolutely loved the vibes on the wall of Jeff goldblum and timothee chalamet and bagels! To start, the coffee crumb cake was great - I'm picky and I eat them a lot so I was pleased when I saw how yellow and compact the bread (bottom) part was. It was moist and not too thick. It's hard for me to find a good coffee crumb cake and I was pleased here. I got the salmon lox bagel with chives cream cheese and the freshness of the salmon and chives stood out a lot - would come back and try more their bagels! I was worried the line would be out the door but once we placed an order, the line was nearly out the door! Parking isn't too shabby but the other location I've heard it's rough.
Shug's Bagels brings that real NYC bagel shop energy the moment you walk in. The New York-inspired decor immediately sets the tone and gives you that classic bagel-shop nostalgia--the kind of place that feels familiar even if it's your first visit. I had the everything bagel and it was absolutely delicious--perfectly satisfying and done right. I also grabbed an egg, sausage, and cheese bagel, and that one slapped just as hard. Both were fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you want from a solid bagel spot. The vibe is casual, fast-moving, and exactly what you want when you're craving a legit bagel. You can tell they care about doing it right, not overthinking it, and letting the product speak for itself. Bonus points for having Gatorade in a can--you really can't go wrong with that. It's the kind of place that reminds you why bagels are more than just breakfast--they're comfort food, culture, and routine all rolled into one. If you appreciate NYC-style touches and a spot that respects bagel tradition, Shug's is absolutely worth the stop.
Despising my relocation has nearly become my entire personality, it's sad but accurate and I own that. However, I'm trying to make the best of a terrible horrible no good very bad thing by creating my Dallas must experience list (before getting the F Out and back to LA). Enter Shug's, they totally made the cut and seem to be a bagel institution, so you know I had to pay them a visit. I'm more of a bagel and lox type gal but their best seller is a bagel sandwich with egg, cheese, bacon and hash brown. I really don't like hash browns and only ever cook with them when a recipe calls for them. I was almost going to make an edit and leave them off, turns out they totes made the entire sandwich in addition to + jalapeño cream cheese. I love a spicy kick! I drove to Shug's on a rainy Saturday morning, ran across the lot in a strong down pour (another attempt to feel something in a city with zero energy) entered their front door to find a line and full house. Not a single empty seat and immediately was feeling the place. I've only tried one other bagel spot in Plano and in all honesty their bagel alone was better than my everything bagel here. I think Shug's is definitely a bagel sandwich place. If you're nearby, they hit the spot! Service was excellent, crowd diverse and great. I ended up snagging a seat at a communal table. Until I drive away to never ever ever ever return, I can see myself grabbing another bite from here, if I'm in the area. Great spot! Can totally see why people love it.
I ordered delivery thru DoorDash so my review is based on that currently. The bagel quality was very good and worth ordering 1/2 to full dozen depending on how fast you eat them. The order was correct and everything arrived warm not needing any reheating. The burrito tasted Tex-Mex inspired and hit the spot. I added sour cream and hot sauce which completed the flavor explosion. The plain bagel with regular cream cheese and jelly was good. I didn't need as much cream cheese so do keep in mind 4oz is roughly a container size in the store. I recommend requesting the cream cheese on the side or ordering more bagels plain to distribute the cream cheese to your preference. I'm looking forward to dining in the restaurant to complete the experience and ambiance. From the reviews I've read it seems to get crowded rather quickly and has long lines. Overall the delivery experience was a 4.1 out of 5
Highly recommend this bagel spot. Can't speak for the bagel or cream cheese alone since I only ordered sandwiches, however those sandwiches were fire. The Reuben was great. Bacon, Sausage, fried egg and USA cheese was amazing. I want to go back soon to try their lox. Stop by if you're in the area for sure.
I normally love this place but not anymore... I found a brown hair in my food. I'm done... They are not covering their heads because they don't think it's that big of a deal if they get hairs or God knows what else in our food. I'm done...

The sitting area was pretty limited but people were in and out quickly so it wasn't hard to find a spot to sit. The inside interior is unique and very nature-like. The process of ordering was simple and easy. I was pleased to see that the employee was quick and confident about answering my question upon recommendation.
We were visiting from out of town and went at about 10am on a Monday. The line was to the door but moved quickly. We order an everything bagel toasted with cream cheese and a cinnamon raisin bagel toasted with cream cheese. Both of them were amazing! They were $6 each. We also didn't wait very long for our order to be ready.
Shugs is a Dallas staple. The mockingbird location is cozy, and even when it's crowded with a line out the door, it's good service and is relatively quick. Went with the classic spicy shug with avocado, salt & pepper, and ketchup (don't knock it til you try it). Everything bagel is always the way to go. Fresh ingredients is what makes the bagel. 10/10

It was hard to narrow down which to choose from but we went with a Spicy Shug and a regular Shug. Would definitely check this place out if you're in the Dallas area. The Spicy Shug comes with bacon, egg, pepper jack cheese with a hashbrown and hot sauce. I switched it up a little and went with no bacon but an extra egg on a sesame bagel. The hot sauce was really tasty, full of flavor but balanced with a medium amount of spice! The Shug is similar but without hot sauce or pepper jack cheese. We changed it up a little though, we ordered it on an onion bagel with sausage and grilled onions. It was really good! The hashbrowns add a nice and crispy aspect to the sandwich!
Visited this location, which is much bigger than the one on Lemon! Picked up my order. I decided to get an egg sandwich with egg whites, turkey bacon, cheddar cheese, and a hashbrown on a wheat everything bagel. The hashbrown was so crispy and fresh, and the turkey bacon was also tasty! Service was great as always, and the employee who helped up was extremely nice!

Shugs got so much hype and it was so crowded! This location is near SMU campus and the line was out the door, we waited for a while to order and it took ~20min to get our food. And the food was cold! This was our first time ever trying this place so we went with the classic. We got 3 Spicy Shug w/ Everything Bagel & Pesto Cutlet Bagel w/ Everything Bagel. The spicy shug bagel was an average breakfast bagel with some spicy sauce (wasn't spicy at all in my opinion), but the pesto bagel was really good. I would recommend the pesto cutlet over the spicy shug. I wish the bagels were warmed up though, they were cold and rock hard, the fillings were also not hot. I prefer Cloud 9 Bagel in Carrolton more since they warm up your bagels and cost less. read more
My boyfriend and I visited Shug's Bagels around 11am on Saturday and waited in a line that went outside to get our breakfast sandwiches. We ended up chatting with the people next to us while we waited so it went by pretty fast. We ordered spicy shug's and mine was on a garlic bagel. I loved the crunchy crispy texture of the bagel, but I had to ask for more spicy sauce since mine wasn't wet enough. I love the spicy sauce this comes with and the flavor of it is amazing. I had to circle around tables a few times while we were waiting since it was so packed but we got one and enjoyed our food inside. Despite it being so busy it wasn't super loud. I liked how they had shows like Adventure Time on the tv. We also were made aware this place is open until LATE, which is awesome. Could totally see it being a good spot after a night out. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Shug's is a classic bagel spot in Dallas, and it definitely hits the spot! I ordered the egg sandwich on a plain bagel with scrambled eggs, bacon, and scallion cream cheese. The ingredients were well portioned and balanced well. It is on the pricier side, but in my opinion, it's worth it! The line can stretch out the door, but it moves at a pretty reasonable pace. Our order of 4 bagels was ready within 10-15 minutes, which was pretty quick considering how many people were in front of us. I have ordered online once before, but honestly, I found that ordering in person was faster. Very chill place to come with friends. There is a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating, though it can be tricky to find a spot during the weekend rush. Thankfully, my friends and I lucked out and grabbed one. I recommend that they label the bagels, especially for larger orders, to make them easier to sort. There is a large lot for parking. Overall, the bagels are delicious and worth a try if you're in Dallas! read more

I have been seeing this place pop up a lot on social media and decided to give a try. When I arrived there were quite a few people, which I was prepared for. The aroma of fresh baked bagels filled the intimate shop. It may have been an off day for the cashier but there was no friendly face or greeting just "what would you like?" I believe it's imperative to start out with a proper greeting and a smile when working in the service industry. I also am aware that bad days do occur. I created my own bagel, jalapeño cheddar bagel, eggs over hard, cheddar cheese, chicken cutlet & hash brown. It had potential but was lukewarm and a bit hard. I wanted mine toasted but it didn't seem that it was. The only warm ingredient was the egg. I rated this place a 3 based off the experience and subpar sandwich. Maybe a redo is needed. read more

Back again at shugs to give it another try. Ordered a bacon egg cheese on an everything with scallion cream cheese and some mac and cheese bites. The mac and cheese bites were a nice snackable side, and has a velveeta type of mac inside. I just wish my bagel was actually hot, like it just seems stale and old, just like the other location. The inclusions in my sandwich were good but i'm here for the bagel. Disappointed tbh read more

I got the everything bagel 'HP special' and it was so delicious that I can't wait to come back and try it again. The bagel was soft and chewy, but had a bit of crispiness to it as well. The HP special has avocado (but you can also substitute it for cream cheese or add onto it as well) with cheddar cheese, scrambled egg, and a sausage patty. The egg was perfectly cooked and I'm still thinking about how light and fluffy but also creamy it was. Will definitely be coming back to try more of the bagels soon! read more

Some of my classmates went to SMU but have never had Shug's Bagels before. It was time to change that. We met up at Shug's bagels at the original location on mockingbird, right at the entrance of SMU. It was a Monday but it was packed, there was a constant line of people ordering the whole time that we were there. The line can get long but it moves very fast. They're known for their bagel sandwiches, which you can get a breakfast version or a lunch version with chicken cutlets. I got their spicy shug sandwich on an everything bagel with a few add ons (basically all of them lol). They're famous for their signature snug sandwich, which is a bagel with bacon, egg (I got mine scrambled), cheese, and a hash brown. I got the spicy version with hot sauce and pepper jack cheese, and subbed the bacon for sausage. I also added avocado and scallion cream cheese for an additional charge. You can also add salt, pepper, and ketchup for no charge. My bagel sandwich was huge, it was definitely a jaw workout. Everything about this bagel was perfect. The cheese was melty, the avocado and cream cheese was creamy, and the hash brown and sausage added a little crispiness/snap. The everything bagel also provided a title saltiness to top it off. This angel basically had every texture and flavor combined and I enjoyed every bit of it. This is a must try if you're ever in the area. They also have a newer location in Oak Lawn read more

Finally getting around to try this place. The bagels are kinda pricey, but totally worth it. I got the Spicy Shug on an Everything bagel and my boyfriend got the Ranch Cutlet. My bagel had a little kick to it from the hot sauce. The bagel was soft & chewy. The only thing I would ask for next time is to get it toasted more. There are some sitting on the inside & outside, but not enough. The service was quick. We ordered & got our bagels almost right away even though it was quite busy. I'll be back to try the other bagels. read more

Good quality bagels but definitely on the pricier side.. I would get it once to try but probably not worth it to me to get regularly. I tried the Bagel lox one which was about 20 dollars.. it was good but I'm not sure if it's $20 good. It was very busy when we went but they got our stuff pretty quickly. Would not bother with the coffee or anything but pretty solid to try. read more

Ordered online for the after hours orders. It was easy to order online and the order was done really quickly. We were surprised how quick we got the text that our order was ready. The food was hot, delicious, and good portions. We got two bagels and the loaded fries. The only thing I would say is to maybe put in some forks with the loaded fries order. I had the pleasure of visiting Shug's Bagel during my stay in Dallas. This place was packed on a weekend morning. Ordering online was a breeze. I arrived a bit early, and they got to work on my order right away, finishing it even quicker than they estimated. I took my order to go which was a good call since it was so crowded. There were so many tempting options on the menu, but I went with a simple egg and cheese on an everything bagel, and it was delicious. I heard they are opening a store in New Orleans soon. The line here can get pretty long but it moves relatively quickly. I ordered a garlic bagel with scallion spread and a tomato. The bagel was very dense but the garlic flavor was delicious. The spread didn't taste much like scallion, but it could be that the garlic was overpowering. The tomato was a refreshing touch. I also got to try my friend's spicy shug which was also delicious but very heavy. I almost felt full after just one bite. read more

Really great bagel spot where you can see them baking bagels while you wait. It's a pretty small place, I would assume most of their business is to go but there is some seating available. Now, this is how you do bagels. Everybody says they do New York bagels, but they're not even close. This place on the other hand, undeniably delivers. The bagels were crispy on the outside yet so fluffy on the inside. The shmear was also delicious and the shop didn't skimp on it at all. We got the following: - Spicy shugs - Blueberry bagel with blue berry shmear - Black and white cookie: only thing I wouldn't have again. This place lives up to the hype and is worth the drive for anybody wanting fantastic bagels/sandwiches. The only reason I've given this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the price.
